Between the all-day jackhammering onroadwork outside, the intermittant power outages, or the fact they tried to give us a room below what i had paid for, I would not recommend this as a place to stay at this time.

The hotel was located close to old town which was convenient.

The building and rooms require updating. Air con didn’t work, you can also see they were trying to cover up damp within the room. Construction was taking place outside which could at times be very loud. View of the ocean from the balcony was absolutely stunning.

Breakfast was ok but the same option was given every day.

Upon arrival reception staff was very miserable and we didn’t feel welcomed by staff overall.

Not sure whether I would stay there again.

They do have some eye catching and amazing pieces of furniture around the hotel

The location and view from the property were amazing but we eventually had to leave the property because the entire building did not have air conditioning and we were not informed during our check in. This caused an inconvenience which we had to find another hotel in the area that could had 4 rooms available since we were traveling with a large group. However it is important to note that the gentleman at the front desk, George did everything possible to ensure we received a full refund. He was clearly embarrassed for the situation beyond his control

It began with the uncomfortable smell on arrival.

I know its not the properties fault but the construction right next door was unbearable. We had a lovely deck we could not use because the hammering started at 7:30 am and went to sometimes 6;30pm . Otherwise enjoyed everything else

If you like the sound of construction all day, absolutely no air conditioning (false promises that “today it will be fixed, promise!”, and enjoy finding cockroaches along every path, even in the building, and not to mention, constant doors slamming in the halls, sleepless nights, and lastly the constant stench of moisture and mold - then this is the place for you!

We had no air conditioning and the fridge didn’t work. We asked for a double bed and was given two single beds. We complained about not having air conditioning and was given a fan. The fan was very noisy, it sounded like a washing machine all day and night. Was not offered any upgrade or apology for the inconvenience. Was not even asked how was our stay was. Seemed bothered by me telling him my complaints at the end.

The AC didn't work in our room. We could change the room for the second night but the first night wasn't really terrible, could not sleep because it was so hot and the bad was super noisy when you moved. We asked for late check out in reception but get a straight no. The person in the reception didn't even askt for our room number to check if it's possible. The whole hotel is pretty old and needs some renovation. The pool was cleaned one day to 10.15am and it wasn't possible to use it even if it supposed to be open from 9.00am

Good hotel at a great location close to all Albufeira attractions. The staff was very kind and welcoming.
Property is aging and needs an update. They gave us a room where the air conditioner was not working and had one double bed(we had asked for 2 bed). The staff was kind and gave us a nicer room on the next day. (Thank you)

The bad: The room was poorly laid out with the toilet and bidet on one side of the room and the shower and tub on the other. The furniture was shabby and worn. The lower level hallway that led to the tiny, uninspired bar apparently doubled as a storage closet, where rows of chairs were stacked and lined the area directly upon leaving the elevator.
The good: There's a huge balcony with very pretty views of the sea.
The impressive: the spread they put out for the complimentary breakfast is extensive; although that too was poorly laid out with a large wall divided the buffet, with 75% in one room and behind a wall the other 25%.

Stayed at the hotel Thursday to sunday cost £485 which isn't cheap by any means hotel is well dated and old fashioned needs a major refurbished all over the photos on line are nothing like what i seen at the hotel the decking around the pool is shambolic paint work is flakeing away the steps into the pool are dangerous and far to steep if you are a elderly person + work was been carried outside the hotel big digger machine breaking out concrete all day wasn't informed whilst we were checking in about work being done out side hotel rooms i stayed on level 2 room was ok single bed and breakfast was a 2/10 wouldn't stop there again to expensive for what is

We stayed on the 5th floor, very nice sea view. No pegs in the room og bathroom. You have to pay for the safe, 2,6 euro/day in cash, If you pay in the evening, the time Will run out 11 am till the day you paid. Bed is noisy. There is cable TV and option for Screen mirroring which does not work on the 5th floor. The staff is tired, especially one elderly lady with light hair. Very unpleasant, she was nice in the beginning but if you asked her something or had a problem she was totally stressed out. Breakfast is average. Hotel is on a hill. At least 10 min stairs to the Beach.

Old style hotel the whole place needs a refurb.
Room was clean but the bathroom has seen better days. Shower head I don’t think has ever been cleaned and the wood on the sides of the sink look worn. Old style air con and furniture was old looking. Breakfast was awful. Cheeses/cold meats all left out with no ice underneath so the cheeses/meats looked sweaty and flies flying around. The orange juice was glowing orange more like squash, awful flavour. The pool didn’t look clean and there seemed to be a resident seagull flying around all the time. The only positive was the staff on reception. I would not recommend this hotel.

Disappointing Room Quality in a Potentially Great Hotel. This hotel has a lot going for it, but unfortunately, the room quality significantly detracts from the overall experience. While the hotel is rated 4 stars, the rooms felt more like a 2-star accommodation (We stayed at a 2 star the night before and it had nicer rooms). We were consistently woken up by the sound of doors opening and closing throughout the night due to a complete lack of soundproofing. The room itself was small, and the bed was quite uncomfortable.
On the positive side, the breakfast was great, offering a good variety and quality. The pool area was also fantastic, providing a relaxing space to unwind. The staff were excellent—friendly, helpful, and attentive. The location was superb, making it easy to explore the area.
If this hotel were to renovate its rooms and address the soundproofing issues, it absolutely has the potential to be a true 4-star experience. However, as it stands, I would rate it closer to a 2.5-star hotel due to the poor room quality.

Nice location, beautiful views

This hotel is old but it is clean and in a good location. They were nice enough to upgrade us so we had a very spacious room. The pool is ice cold and not very inviting. All the staff were helpful. The library is a great edition to swap books with a wide variety in many languages. Able to walk both to the old town and marina although the walk back could be challenging in regard to hills and stairs if you were not fit. The only really disappointing thing was you had to pay extra to use the safe in your room, I have never had to do this before.

Not as good as expected. Lack of wardrobe space for 2, nowhere to hang your towel for coming out of shower, awkward navigation of the hotel especially as higher level lift not operational. The front desk staff were a bit stuffy and rarely had a smile on their face, except one of the younger lads who was the only one who seemed to be enjoying working there.

A really cozy hotel but quite worn out. A lot that didn't work. The elevator to the 5th floor was out of order. The shower by the pool only had one small jet. The bed in the room was so old and uncomfortable, you could feel all the springs when you moved. The room had a fantastic view of Albufeira, the pool and the sea. The air conditioning didn't work for the four nights we stayed there. Close to 40 degrees without air conditioning made the room like a sauna. The reception staff kept claiming that everything was fixed and that it only took half an hour for the cold to come, which it didn't during the whole time we stayed there.

A Trip Back in Time – The Worst Kind!
My recent stay was a truly dismal experience, feeling less like a hotel visit and more like an unfortunate journey to the past – and not in a charming, nostalgic way. This place is woefully outdated, but without any of the character that might make an older establishment appealing. Every corner screams \"neglect,\" making you feel like you've stepped into a forgotten era for all the wrong reasons.
The issues started right in the room, particularly with the abysmal bathroom design. I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea, but the toilet was positioned so awkwardly that a wall was practically in front of you. You literally couldn't sit properly, making a basic necessity an uncomfortable and frankly, ridiculous ordeal.
However, the worst part of my stay was undoubtedly the service, or lack thereof. The receptionist was incredibly rude and seemed to have no concept of customer care. On my departure day, with a flight to catch, a task that should take less than five minutes. Instead, he left me waiting for over 30 minutes while he leisurely chatted with newly arrived guests. His complete disregard for my time meant I was overcharged by the taxi due to the excessive waiting and, consequently, had to rush to the airport, adding immense stress to what should have been a straightforward departure.

Outstanding view, pool and breakfast. Bed not good

An amazing location high atop hill overlooking Albufiera old town and beach. Room was adequate and we enjoyed the balcony, pool area and especially the excellent breakfast bar. Self-parking was very convenient. Cons would be the broken elevator, bathroom was dated and the bed was quite uncomfortable. Front desk very friendly and helpful.

Location and quietness away from the new town

This was our third visit in 7 years. Staff are friendly and the hotel clean. However, it is not 4 star. I understand the competitive edge and the need to cut corners however I do feel this hotel is likely to fall along the wayside unless they invest in itself. No longer a basket in the bathroom with toiletries, old hard towels and bathrobes.
When we spent time around the pool the bar wasn’t being run by anyone most of the time and when it was could only deal in cash.
We love the quietness and location but please if you’re stating 4 star then offer 4 star.

My partner and I had a fantastic time in Albufeira, celebrating our 25th year anniversary! Jorge at the hotel gave a 5 star service, always very helpful and jovial who gave us room 509 with an absolute magnificent sea view! They served very fresh and varied buffet breakfast, with both English and continental choices and more. The hotel is about 12-15 minutes walk from the old town center. It is a bit up hill going back to the hotel, but Uber cars are very cheap and always readily available. We would not hesitate to go back again! Claudia and Paul

We had room 519, one of two suites on the roof (6th floor). Aka \"Deluxe double room, sea view\".

Wonderful! The secluded outside terrace was as large as the apartment itself, fully private for sunbathing or just enjoying the expansive views of Albufeira.

The interior of the apartment itself was a little tired, with loose wood segments of the parquet flooring going click-clacj as we tried on them. Bed was very firm, but we asked for a mattress topper, which softened things nicely.

Two complaints: the sliding glass doors to the terrace need new wheels/bearings, and the external sun shutters rattled loudly in the wind, all night long on our final night. Like sleeping inside a steel drum.

Staff were considerate and excellent all around.

Parking was free and easy. The hotel garage was available (free except during the summer), but we used on-street parking just outside the hotel entrance.

The breakfasts were excellent, with a large selection of items and two good automatic coffee machines.

Off-seasob dinner was offered from a set menu, which we took for one of the evenings. The food was nice, but pricier than nearby (excellent) restaurants.

Access down to the town and beach was easy, beginning with the steps from the hotel pool, and ending with the village elevator to the beach.

Would stay here again, in the same room. Amazing.

I travelled all the way from Delhi to be with a friend, who was celebrating her 40th birthday. I booked accommodation at the same hotel and booked a ‘Deluxe Suite’ on the topmost floor.

AI reached the property at about 9 PM on a Friday evening. After checking in, 'Anna' the lady at the Front Office, helped me lug my rather heavy suitcase the last two floors and unlocked the door for me. The suite was lavish as lavish can be and from another era. The washroom reminded me of ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’. The terrace was mindbogglingly huge with two sets of loungers and tea tables for two at both end for a cosy conversation and was just the place to soak in the sun and the surf, with endless views of the ocean stretching across the horizon. The video that I am posting along with, hardly does justice to the opulence.

After a quick wash up, I reached the in-house restaurant past 10 PM, the closing time. 'Martin', the Barman who happened to be my age exactly, ensured that I get a bite while sipping my drink.

Next day was her birthday. At 9.30 PM, after a sumptuous dinner, I realised I had forgotten to let the Property to arrange a small cake for the occasion. I called Jorge, at the Front Office and explained my predicament. He had quietly slipped in the Cake in my room and it was breathtakingly beautiful.

Thank you ‘Belver Boa Vista Hotel & Spa’, for being so understanding and allow us to make the most of the occasion. Can’t wait to get back!!

5 night stay. Average $ 175 a night. They call them selves 4 star. In my opinion a 2 star AT BEST

Good : location view from our room. Excellent !
Bad : wait for it :
1) 2 steps in the MIDDLE of the room heading to the bathroom ( yellow hazard tape on steps that DOES NOT glow in the dark) … not a problem … since
2) THE DARK CURTAINS DID NOT WORK . So steps not a problem could see them
3 ) THERE IS NO A/C … they say this is a 1968? Property “ acqua cooled”. Water running thru pipes cools the room.
Complained about it to management. Room is too hot. Sent mechanics. Could not fix it.

Day 4 : sent us a table fan. They say only 1 in the building. Does NOT WORK IN THE 3 inappropriately located outlets.
Day 4 night : THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER … Management says will sort it out in morning.
Obviously no water no aqua cooling … hot room
Day 5 morning. 2 mechanics come up. No water. management's says you are ON YOUR OWN IT IS GOVERNMENT ISSUE. Rosa house maint manger brings standing fan that WORKED ! Water finally trickles in 12 noon. Half day of vacation gone !

Management refused to compensate us any way. Also did not sincerely apologize either. GM never came up to even talk.
There were no other rooms the maintenance guys said … similar issue. No water.

THE WORST FACILITY WE HAVE STAYED IN …. BY FAR. NEXT MONTH TURN 70 and TAKE 4 INTERNATIONAL TRIPS A YEAR. This was terrible experience.
Ps : no iron table in room asked only got iron

DO NOT STAY HERE. I chose this hotel based off photos on the Expedia website and the hotel website. The room I received was NOTHING like the photos shown. The photos shown are of a clean room, modern with new furniture and all together it is a nice room. The room I received was absolutely nothing like the picture. The room was an ugly green paint with cranks down the entire wall in the main room and the bathroom. The furniture was not only old but also cracked, peeling, and wobbling. The bed was not as shown but rather a mattress on massive wood board sticking out that I knocked right into. When bringing this up to the front desk I was told they get this issue often and have brought it up to management but they refuse to change the photos. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS A BAIT AND SWITCH. I spoke with the manager the next morning and emailed as well and they couldn't care less, obviously because it was prepaid. DO NOT STAY IN THIS DUMP.

It was my first time in the Albufeira and I loved the location and views from the hotel. The pool was lovely, there was a good selection for breakfast, and the hotel was very close to a supermarket to pick up anything you need for your room as well as the marina and other bars/restaurants.

There did seem to be some confusion about my room accommodations although I’m not sure if this was on the end of Orbitz booking or the hotel. I recommend to contact the hotel directly after booking to confirm you actually get the room and views you think you’re paying for. You need to get a room directly facing the beach if you want the “sea view” balconies they’re advertising, or you’ll get stuck in the corner with weeds and bushes blocking you’re sight. They eventually made it right after a couple of days, but it was a real struggle going back and forth begging that should not have been necessary.

I really enjoyed Belver Boa Vista hotel. Steps away from the beach and many shopping stores and restaurants. If you are not use to climbing hills, this might not be for you. However, staff was nice and so were the rooms. The only issue was the lack luster breakfast. Outside of that, I would visit again.

Solo traveller - I was in one of the single rooms that are below the pool. For what I paid it was great, breakfast was very good (lovely donuts), pool was nice, room service was great and pleasant.

I also used the gym sauna and steam, all were fine (although the steam not very hot). Like others have said, the 'blue gate' is good as it saves alot of effort getting up the hill to the front door from town.

Some lovely views and sitting areas around reception and the pool. No complaints from me!

Traditional hotel, pleasantly decorated - easy access to bus terminal via close bus stops, and the tourist train stopped right outside so could get to the strip (if necessary) and the marina, as well as the old town. Perfect views of the old town and ocean from the balcony. Great breakfast and staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were able to leave our luggage after an early flight so could explore the old town and make the most of our first day.

Lovely and quiet adults only hotel for the wife and I to escape our children for 3 days and nights. Great location, walkable to Marina, beach, shops, restaurants and bars but be prepared as it’s hilly!!
Beautiful views from the hotel rooms across the pool and out to sea.
Lovely pool and outside areas for sunbathing and relaxing.
Cheery and helpful bar/restaurant manager during the day and evening, amazing breakfast buffet each day.
Our only negative was that the pillows were incredibly thick so we did struggle with a comfy sleep - we should have asked for thinner ones but we didn’t, so that’s partly our fault! Also one particular female receptionist was a bit rude but all the other staff were lovely.
Air-con in the room with plenty of space and nice bathroom, balcony and wardrobes.
Would highly recommend.

Most staff were lovely and friendly although there were some exceptions. Night porter was less than welcoming when some of our group returned at night.
The rooms are a bit dated and we were given one with faulty/dripping air conditioning. This was dangerous because we could have easily slipped on a wet tiled floor. We were given a new room the next day after complaining a couple of times. Disappointing because the room had already been offered and rejected by someone else in our group. This needs proper attention.
On the upside, the breakfast offering was extremely good. The woman serving in the bar throughout the day was excellent and very friendly.
On the whole, the hotel was good value.

Good location just a 5 minutes walk to the beach. Room is very basic and vintage. No kettle in the room. Fridge is locked. Breakfast is adequate wafer thin bacon, eggs(fried or scrambled),cocktail sausages, beans, mushrooms, fruit selection, cheese selection, bread selection. €40 Uber ride to the airport. Pool is nice with a viewpoint.

The room was very disappointing- the electronic safe didn’t work you had to rent a key, the patio door wouldn’t lock, air conditioning wasn’t working- replaced with portable unit before our arrival which was useless and very noisy, the bathroom leaked when showering, the tv wasn’t tuned- all fuzzy, there was cracks, holes and marks in the paintwork.
The breakfast was also very poor- for a cooked buffet the hot food quality for Europe was very disappointing.
The sunbeds were very uncomfy and had numerous rips and tears and looked grubby
The service at bars and restaurant was non-impressionable
Very disappointing 4* star hotel

Location was brilliant and the room and hotel was generally clean.

Great stay and amazing views

Great stay, deluxe double room was worth the additional cost for the extra room and huge balcony. Must have had the best view in the whole of albufeira. The view from the sea view rooms is stunning and well worth booking this hotel alone. Breakfast was standard offering and well done. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Pool was quiet and clean. Location was close enough to the old town (5-10 min walk) but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. Would stay again.

We had a great sea view room. The staff also mentioned about spa but we never used it. Very close to old town Albufeira, walkable distance. Parking is extra but can do street parking around the hotel.

Pros:
Breakfast good variety and quality.
Room size.
Quiet area of Albufeira.
Ocean view from room.
Pool.

Cons:
Air conditioning terrible and room too hot for sleeping.
Room very tired and dated inc. plug socket half-detached from wall, shower did not drain well.
Some staff appeared not bothered.
Water went off in the morning of check out so unable to have shower before leaving.
Gym not fit for purpose.

Would not stay again at this hotel nor recommend.
Pleased only stayed for one night as way overpriced!

An oldie but a goodie

Wonderful friendly and pleasant staff. Great location. The back gate was perfect for getting to beach- would be handy if we could have access at night also. Unfortunately lost my towel receipt so left without my €20 deposit. The sun beds are a little old so could do with upgrading. Surprisingly comfortable beds. Floor not cleaned underneath however. But linen changed daily and bathrooms cleaned.

I was a bit worried when I was reading reviews but our room was perfect very clean . The full hotel is very clean and welcoming . We only arrived back today and are looking to book this hotel for October . Breakfast is excellent also something for everyone . You won’t be dissatisfied with this hotel location quiet easy to walk to centre pool lovely and prices at the bar are good also

Overall a pleasant stay for a few days. All staff were great and the buffet breakfast as good as any. Great ocean view, room furniture worn, bed hard, longish walk to main square in old-town. Everything worked and was clean.

Not as good as previous visits

The hotel and our room were very clean.
The staff were helpful. The lady cleaning our room was very friendly and efficient.
We have stayed here several times in the past, but on this occasion would be of the opinion that the hotel needs a bit of upgrading - get rid of the old furniture and update the decor in particular.

Place was clean, and freshly painted. Very lovely.

Much better than the recent reviews had given it. We found it to be quiet, lovely views, nice rooms, clean, helpful staff. We had come close to canceling based on some of the reviews, and we are so glad we did not cancel. Good place to stay, and we were well looked after.

Lovely balcony with fantastic view. Nice lobby area and in a quiet area, but walking distance from old town. But rooms are a bit dark, worn and dated, and furniture in my room was in bad shape / chipped and peeling. Rooms need updating.

Great location, great breakfast, great spa & value

Was perfect location for friends catch up. We wanted to be near things but not in the middle of the action. Loungers were available whenever we needed, friendly staff, great breakfast and easy short walk into town (10mins or so).
One of the best massage I have had for a while in the spa too.
While the decor is a little dated, it is typical of its time but was always spotless and pleasant.
The only complaint I had was that the \"Deluxe\" room I had (301) while large, was hidden away at the side of the hotel. It had 2 small balconies but only got sun at the end of the day. It did have sea views.
All in all was a great choice and exactly what we were looking for. Will certainly be back

A view to die for,,

Situated fabulous area everthing you need on your door step, top restaurants and bars and a stones throw to the lively centre. Accommodation and breakfast are good, staff very friendly and helpful, but for me my balcony and views priceless.
