The hotel had all the expected amenities, and the staff was helpful and cordial. Breakfast was excellent - lots of hot and cold options. I enjoyed being in a quiet neighborhood that is not filled with loud tourists. There's a wonderful food court a block away that stays open late - Mercado Bom Successo. I found it wonderful for getting a quick bite after a long day of exploring.

I like how clean my room was, and as well as the building. I was able to communicate with the staff of my needs. The front dest staff, Edwado, Maria, George, and Mattheu, who helped us with our luggage, since the elevator liff outside was not working. The beds were hard. The bath tubs too high.

The hotel rooms are NOT soundproofed: you can hear someone sneezing in the next room. We had an issue after check in with a kid constantly screaming in the room next door. Went down to ask for a room change and the lady at front desk looked irked at the request, gave me a room change, but clearly said nasty things about the request to.her colleague in Portuguese. Quite unprofessional and rude!

Overall, the stay was decent. Pillows were crap. The only plus was that the property is located next to a very nice and quiet mall, which has a grocery story and laundry facilities. Other than these points, i wouldn't book this place again.

Rude service, poor beds

Uncomfortable beds. Hairdryer wouldn't turn off so had to just cut the electricity to the whole room (nice hairdryer though). Rude, almost arguably racist man at check-in desk who was very rude to people who speak little English, had the patience and look of a man desperate to get home (probably even though it was the middle of his shift). Another 2 women who greeted us at some point during our stay were nicer though. Incomprehensible why we pay the city tax at check-in rather than check-out (it is not city policy, we paid at check-out in other hotels). Booked a taxi for my family (on a different booking) - was quoted a ridiculous price (found cheaper by half elsewhere).

This hotel is a great option if you want to avoid the city's noise. It's in a safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants and a supermarket right across the street. The subway station is only a five-minute walk away. The hotel itself is very clean and well-kept.

The manager and full staff were tremendously helpful for my stay. Their willingness to help and actually solve a major problem (CSI) was incredible. Their professionalism showed what a great group was willing to do. Without there help my trip would have been a disaster. A very clean hotel and in a good location to a metro station to take you straight into Porto. It is a nice walk into Porto if thats what you enjoy.
Plenty of nearby restaurants and there is a food hall within 200metres that is definitely worth a visit.
Staff are really friendly and check-in and out were easy. A lovely clean bar area with well priced drinks.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Porto.

Very convinient to visit Porto while driving in Po

Short metro ride or 20 minute walk to historical center. Easy to drive to with indoor parking. We were directed to Bom Sucesso \"foodcourt\" for dining by the staff which turn out to bevone the best dining choices of the entire trip. We actually scheduled later dining in ordrer to come back from the city center and eat at Mercado Bom Sucesso, do not miss this place.

We stayed a week in Portugal and only a day in Porto. The stay at HFTuela was so comfortable that next time we’ll skip Lisbon as a primary destination and go directly to Porto.
Very clean room, quiet, plentiful breakfast with good assortment of cheeses and meats. Very helpful staff. There’s an excellent seafood place waking distance!!!

My partner and I stayed at HF Tuelo Porto for two nights and I will not be returning because of poor customer service overall quality of the facility.

Cons
-If you are using the parking, be warned. Tuela Porto only has 13 spots in a very small, tightly packed underground garage. It is not suitable for a SUV/larger car. There is a sister hotel right next door that has multiple floors of parking that you can access (still not great for larger vehicles) but we were not told that at check in. Instead, we had to struggle in the first garage, come all the way back up, only to be told we can park in the neighboring garage and THEN find out there is no adjoining access from that garage to our hotel, so we had to drag our luggage around from one building to the next and up about 7 stairs (there is no ramp at Tuelo Porto entrance). I could have forgiven this fiasco but when we expressed our feedback, we were met with defensiveness and zero effort to rectify / compensate for the trouble and stress caused. Mary or Marianna was the name of the staff that was very rude. Her colleague, George, did his best to apologize but it was only when I asked for the parking fee to be removed that he said he could “look into it”. The parking was ultimately not charged but it really should have been offered give the circumstances.
-Rooms walls are paper thin. I could hear everything from next door and up above and it wasn’t because the individuals were excessively noisy.

All in all this is a very nice hotel in what seemed like a good safe location. The bathrooms were old, but in good condition. Slow drain would leave you standing in water during your shower and there was a bit of dark grout at the bottom of the tub. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. The keys would not stay active, so every eying when we returned from our outings, the key cards would not work and we would have to go to the front desk to have them fixed. There is a large food hall close by so there are plenty of food choices, but we only found one decent sit down restaurant nearby. For a shorter stay, I would stay here again.

Comfortable hotel away from sights.

The hotel is like a typical American hotel.The room was clean. We are a family of 4 and the \"double\" beds were small, but we are used to those accommodations. The staff at the front desk could smile more. We had looked for hotels in the touristic zone but if we wanted the comfort of this hotel we had to pay more. so we decided to stay away from the sights and walk or use taxis to reach our destinations. Breakfast was pricey but good. This hotel offers parking with an extra fee.
