We loved it!!!! Staff really friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. Great location, there's a restaurant next to it with delicious food and great drinks. Walkable distance from the port.

The staff were all so sweet and lovely! And the breakfast is delicious with lots of variety and well worth the money. Overall a great stay and would stay again. The area is close to the centre but further away from most of the tourists so it’s quieter, and neighbourhood isn’t as well lit as would’ve liked for a female solo travelled at night so would suggest to be more cautious. There’s also plenty of nice restaurants in the area. Would stay again if were in Porto again!

I was in Porto just for the night and I really wish I had stayed here when I was in Porto previously! This is a really cute place to stay. It is well renovated and is really clean. My room was small but really comfortable. The icing on the cake though is the staff. Every time I walked passed a staff member they greeted me and asked if I was ok. I felt very at home here. I am sad that I wasn't able to experience the patio, bar etc while I was here.....just means I have something to come back for :)

We reported twice that there was blood stains on our sheets, then we noticed bug bites on our arms, face and hand. We told the hotel receptionist that there are bed bugs on the bed we slept onand all she said was I’m so sorry have a nice day.

Best stay we had on our 2 week vacation to Spain/Portugal. The receptionist was absolutely lovely, quick messages, and a fantastic guide to help us out sent before we arrived with parking info. Loved the little patio and the welcome beverage. Was close to everything but quiet enough we didn’t hear any big city noise.

This is just like a hotel, couldn't fault it really. The basic rooms are a bit smaller, but it worked fine for us (a young couple). The superior rooms are really nice. Everything is lovely and clean and comfortable, bathrooms are great, aircon works well. The terrace is a real bonus and the customer service and staff at the check-in desk were excellent. It's in a great area with plenty of bar and restaurants around, nice to see a new bit of the city which has a good vibe.

My wife and I spent seven nights at this lovely guest house. Nice room, we went for the superior which was great. Very nice breakfast, terrace area for outside seating. Small bar for drinks too. TV has some channels in other European languages. Good WiFi. Close to metro station and a couple of handy bus stops to downtown or the coastal suburb of Matosinhos. Can't wait to visit again.

Boavista Guest House is a lovely, friendly and clean place to base yourself when in Porto. It is away from the touristy part of town and only a short walk to the city. The train line is just around the corner. There is a good 24 hour parking lot about a 5 minute walk away for under €10 a day. The breakfast provided was more than enough to get us through to lunch. I would absolutely stay there again.

Wonderful staff, I mean really really really wonderful staff. Great position for a hotel to explore Porto. But the room was tiny, and for us the bed was too firm. That being said, if you are only in Porto for a couple of days and like a firm bed, then I would happily recommend Boavista.

We had a very pleasant stay. We stayed for a total of 23 days so we got to experience pretty much everything there. The balcony was wonderful. We would sit there while enjoying a snack or meal and watch the everyday life of Porto down on the street. Our only real complaint was that the internet was spotty. The staff were really helpful and nice. Breakfast was tasty and a great way to start our day.

I stayed for a week at Boavista Guest House and I truly recommend this place! Location is super central and within walking distance both to downtown, República, and to Boavista, Campo Alegre, etc. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are cozy, clean, and my room had a superb balcony over Boavista. Plus, it is pet-friendly, so I could take my dog with me, and they even placed a cute dog bowl in my room! Definitely recommend!

Very pleased with our choice of accommodation in Porto as it was in a good location ( around 25 minutes walk into centre of Porto) and a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station which was a short 10 minute journey to the old town of Porto. The room was small but quite adequate and comfortable with a nice view. The bathroom was again small but clean and modern. The shower was very good. The bedding was of good quality and the beds very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. As we were leaving very early they put the breakfast out a bit earlier for us to have something before we left. The breakfasts were very good with lots of fresh fruit, cereals, juices and fresh bread from the bakery nearby. Cheeses, cold meats, yogurts and various teas plus a decent coffee. The breakfast room was light, airy with modern decor. We could also catch the airport metro from the nearby station and only a 25 minute journey. All in all a lovely place to stay with good public transport or a pleasant walk. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed 3 nights here in September. First time just for a night. Room quite noisy as old windows with wooden shutters on 1st floor. Good air con.
Second time after a few days travelling, and they had kindly moved us to a quieter room higher up and at the quieter back of the hotel with new double glazing, though this had no aircon, and it was very hot. We were supplied with a fan though. Rooms are modern and clean. Beds are a bit hard for my personal liking. Bathrooms modern and good.

Great little Guest House. Cannot be beaten for the price or even twice the price! Rooms are comfortable and clean. Comfortable terrace area for relaxing. Good breakfast. Convenient location.

Great hotel very close to the beach
We had a wonderful stay. The front desk staff were so helpful and full of great tips about the area (they were great with calling the rental car company to speak in Portuguese when we had issues!). The beach is very close and absolutely stunning - wild and beautiful sand dunes. I would highly recommend visiting this hotel and Costa Nova if you like a relaxing and beautiful beach town.

Clean and good value
Good value hotel located a short walk from the main part of the city centre and close to metro station. Room was clean and bathroom fitted to a high standard, and was fairly compact for a twin room. Only minor complaints: window was next to a roof which made the room very noisy during rainy periods, and buffet breakfast was very basic.

Very clean but not very comfortable!
Everything in the hotel was very clean and functional and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, there is a serious lack of comfort and everything is so dated it was like being in a UK seaside B&B 30 years ago! My room had a double bed, a bedside table and a wardrobe - no chair, no table, nowhere to sit other than on the bed. The bathroom was very small with one of the tiniest sinks I have ever used and not even a shelf to put my things on. I think I could have done much better for the same price. On the plus side, it is very close to Carolina Michaelis metro station which is on the line from the airport and is also very easy to get to and from the city centre. I wouldn't stay there again though.

I have no complaint honestly. The only thing is that the rooms are somehow small. Apart from that, it's a great \"value for money\" option. Staff super-friendly and professional, location good, cleanliness impeccable... Bathroom excellent and renovated. Didn't try the food at the hotel as there were so many delicious things to eat out in the city, but it should be good. Highly recommended.

Perfect guest house, 3 minutes from the metro line
Very helpful, knowledge of everywhere in town to go and how much things cost. First thing they sat me down and opened up a map and said what would you like to see or do during your stay, they then drew out exactly how I could get around the town and explained how to find the metro line and how to use it.
They upgraded me without any charge, had free wifi throughout the guest house too.
I throughly recommend that you think of the Boavista Guest House, it is 75% cheaper than over priced places like 'The Grande Porto Hotel' and from what I saw of that place it was living on old fortunes, completely didn't deserve to charge people the prices it did.

Great Hotel
A great hotel near the metro and a comfortable walk into town. Far enough away from the centre to be a Portuguese area, and close enough to the tourist bits! Next door to a great Cervejaria/Retaurant too.

Great location and helpful staff
Right around the corner from a Metro station and 10-15mins stroll into the centre this hotel is in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, a little small but that doesn't matter if you're not staying indoors much. Great en suite, modern shower and fittings. Breakfast isn't hot, cereals, coffee and bread rolls, croissants and cheese/ham slices. It's adequate but not hangover breakfasts! They run breakfasts til 10.30 on weekends so you can lay in. Overall a great little place... oh and a fab terrace for relaxing.

You don't even get what you paid for
This hotel seemed great at first, but just kept getting worse and worse. I put a \"do not disturb\" sign out, the cleaning lady came into my room, cleaned anyways and left my room unlocked for the whole day! The 5euro breakfast was awful. Only 2/4 front desk workers were friendly. One lady was too busy checking her facebook to help me with my stroller out the front door. The bed was harder than most of the European hard beds I've slept on. In the shower one has to hold the shower head. The walls are super thin to the point noises from others and people outside woke up my hard sleeping toddler! The only positive thing is the location, but that too could have been better!
