Wonderful little hotel! Great service by very kind front desk staff. The little garden they have is so pretty. Our room was in the \"basement\" but it faced the garden and still got plenty of daylight. Breakfast was lovely.
The only downside was seeing some homeless people further down the street, and a group of men drinking alcohol. Not something that's the hotel's fault though. I still walked down there at night, but it felt a bit unsafe.

Very nice hotel, not far for all the attractions! It is a very busy street so of your room facing the street its very noisy if the windows are open! Breakfast- great! Very accommodating as well. We arrived before check in time and were let into the room early! I recommend!!

The staff were super welcoming and helpful! The location is convenient to the metro to the airport, and close to the busy areas of Porto, with just enough distance to be quiet and relaxing. The room has a lovely balcony and (important for the summer!) great AC! Also, the breakfast spread is lovely with plenty of options beyond bread & jam -- fresh juice, fruit, pastries, yogurt, cereal, eggs, cold cuts, etc.

We asked for a quiet room and were given a garden room which was very quiet. Hotel building is modern, stylish and clean. Marta on reception is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Our room was nice, wifi was good, bed comfy, shower good. It is in a great location to walk around Porto and to the river. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Outside of the old part of Porto, but walkable although it is really uphill from the river. The Metro was a short walk away, with a station on the south bank of the Douro.

We had a wonderful time in Porto and loved the hotel which is so conveniently situated between Lapa and Trindade metro stations, Trindade being a hub, so handy for going to many places.

We stayed for nine days. We received a very warm welcome and were given lots of information about places to visit. The room we had was clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendy. We had a hire car and it was a relief to be able to park it somewhere safe & convenient. The hotel is a 40 minute walk to the main tourist attractions in Porto. Generally it is an excellent place to stay.

Great value for money in the center of Porto
We booked a deluxe room, and loved the place:
- Staff is incredibly friendly
- Room was modern, clean and spacious
- Daily breakfast is modest but has all you need, including fresh orange juice
- Good location, 10 mins walk to city center
We heard some of the other rooms weren’t as good, so I recommend paying a bit extra for the deluxe. Anyway, we had a fabulous time.

Overall, it was a good stay. The downsides are no one at the front desk to ask questions and get help the majority of the time and breakfast starts at 8-8:30. Most tours and transportation occurs before this time so breakfast gets missed. They do not offer a to go breakfast bag like many hotels offer. The room and bed were fine.

Renovated building with an excellent design. Tasty breakfasts, friendly host and possibility to park your car nearby. It is within walking distance to the center, but remember, Porto is mostly on hills;) the only problem we had is \"delux\" room with no daylight. It is a room without window. The only window was in a bathroom with a glass door.

The staff were very helpfull and the rooms were unique- bathroom was large and had a beautiful tiled floor. Bed was very comfortable. When we left it was raining hard and Anna, who was at the front desk that morning, actually escorted each of us to our cab across the street with an umbrella. Very thoughtful. Overall a charming guest house!

We didn’t stay in this place, they relocated us to an apparent that was ok but the bathroom shower was mouldy, they really need to scrubber the bathroom, the soap dispenser was almost out of the wall, to use the washer machine we had to clean the softener dispenser that was all black mouldy! Don’t know was wrong in Porto but seems that cleanesty is not priority, completely disappeared!!

We had an amazing stay at BO - Álvares Cabral Guest House. The service was very professional, communication was very easy, our room was always perfectly clean and the breakfast is very good and well organized! They even lend us a local smartphone for our stay. We used is a lot for getting around the city easily. I recommend this guest house without any hesitation!

Location was great. 10 minute walk to the downtown area. We enjoyed our room it was large and modern with soft towels. Upon our arrival we were given a map with excellent recommendations and things to see and do. Breakfast was great. The only draw back that we had was our room faced the street and it was noisy at times. Alphonso was very helpful with everything including changing our cab ride a couple of times.

Beautiful guest house, well located for a city trip around Porto - an incredible city! The rooms and common areas are wonderfully decorated and clean and stylish, breakfast is simple (toast / cold meats / fruit / cereal) but plentiful. Theres even a terrace at the back to enjoy a coffee and book after breakfast which gets great morning sunshine. Would 100% recommend this as a B&B for a city break and we’ll be booking back in again in the future. Also easy to get to on the light rail from the airport.

Frühstück war gut. Es gibt auch einen Wäscheaum mit Möglichkeit kostenlos eine Waschmaschine, sowie Trockner zu nutzen bzw die Wösche aufzuhängen. Zimmer war sauber und groß genug. Jedoch hat es im Zimmer extrem schlecht gerochen. Wir haben vermutet, dass die Dusch(trasse) spritzt oder ausläuft. Das Hotel hat extra gereinigt und einen Entfeuchter aufgestellt, hat leider nicht komplett geholfen. Und das wirklich schnell, obwohl es Sonntags war.

Gute Auswahl für Frühstück, es hat aber auch tolle Cafés in der Nähe zum Brunchen. Restaurants auch in Gehdistanz. Zimmer war sauber. Einrichtung simple, dürfte etwas gemütlicher sein, vorallem weil wir das Zimmer im Keller hatten. Andere Zimmer sind freundlicher. Würde diese Unterkunft wieder buchen.

Jag behövde checka in tidigare och receptionspersonen var väldigt vänlig och tog hand om min väska tidigare än check in tiden och sedan meddelade mig att rummet var redo. Dessutom behövde jag en tidig frukost för att jag skulle åka på en utflykt och kökspersonalen var väldigt hjälpsam med att förberedda smörgåsar att ta med mig innan frukosttiden hade börjat. Hotellet ligger på en fin gata, lite långt bort från Ribeira om du vill promenera dit och är inte van vid att promenera upp och ner för backar.

The guesthouse was neat and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, one must be aware of that the reception desk has restricted opening hours. No problem once you remember that fact.. With reference to environment friendliness, maybe fewer changes of towels for guests staying several days (and possibilities to hang them for better drying in the bathroom) could be recommended. Likewise some simple recycling system (paper, plastics, glass etc) could be an idea...
