Rosa Et Al was the PERFECT stay for my time in Porto! I knew this place was gonna be amazing based on the reviews and pictures but as soon as I stepped foot they had already exceeded my expectations! It was the most beautiful home renovated into a mini hotel of sorts. Beautiful rustic, clean, and elegant. The staff was so friendly and helpful. My room was GORGEOUS!! And if you’re a walker like me, this is the perfect spot to get around to any area of Porto.

In terms of food, I tried the yogurt bowl one morning and it was delicious!!! If I ever find myself in Porto again I would 1000% stay here again.

Beautiful townhouse hotel stay! We felt very taken care of by the staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The floors were a bit creaky, but that's just the nature of an old building. The coffee and breakfast from the hotel was delicious! It's also conveniently located near a lot of book stores, cafes and shops, and easily walkable to other parts of the city. Highly recommend!

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The location is good. Hotel asked us by text to upload passports photos to the web which was a security concern for us. We understood breakfast was included, but it is only a 15 Euro allowance. Coffee and other extras are not included. Breakfast wasn't served one morning due to limited staff.

This property was well above what we expected. From check in to departure, the staff were friendly and helpful. The dining was absolutely top notch quality, but very unpretentious as well. It was the perfect place to land after a red-eye flight. We were able to drop off our bags, have a lovely brunch and relax before going sight seeing for a few hours. Couldn’t have planned it better!

A lovely hotel but I was extremely disappointed with the unusual bathroom set up. Not really an en-suite as the walls do not meet the ceiling so the toilet is in the same room as the bed. No privacy whatsoever. We asked to move rooms but the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing the staff could do for us. I would not have booked this room if I’d known about the bathroom.

However lots of positives. The staff were great. The breakfasts delicious. Pretty garden. Cool area.

Beautiful boutique hotel/cafe with chic rooms. We stayed in the garden suite which was detached from the rest of the hotel. Very quiet and nice. Only qualms were that the receptionists were also running a cafe which led to them being overwhelmed and occasionally difficult to obtain service from. The garden suite was also a little musty due to poor ventilation. The food was delicious.

Room was beautiful but we had to wait for it even though we were asked to fill out a form prior with our arrival time and it was after normal check in. Not a big deal. Then the gentleman who led us up 3 flights of stairs to our room, didn’t offer to help me carry my bags after previously saying he would take our bags to our room. I heard the other staff tell him about our room in Portuguese before he took us up but he didn’t repeat any of it to us in English. Restaurant and food were fantastic and even though some little service touches were missing, I would still recommend. Great location and extremely comfy bed.

We enjoyed our stay at Rosa et al. Its convenient location made walking around Porto a breeze. They offer a nice breakfast and also have a selection of homemade biscuits and condiments for purchase. The only reason for not giving our stay a 5 star rating is that our room configuration had the toilet open to the sleeping area with only a low height bookcase as a barrier. If I had known this I would not have selected this hotel. There may be other room configurations available, so my advice is to clarify this before booking as this room type is unlikely to be suitable for many.

This is a charming hotel above a gourmet food and wine store. The rooms are extra large and well designed. Hot water and room thermostats worked perfectly The staff is amazing; very friendly and accommodating. They know you by name and greet you when you come in and say goodbye when you leave. The breakfasts are delicious, and you can prepay for breakfast or pay when you come. The location is close enough to the historic center about a 15 minute walk and fast enough away to be very quiet. I highly recommend.

This is not a 5* property. It has no amenities except breakfast. The lighting in the room is abysmal. You cannot read or put on makeup. My reservation included breakfast, but the hotel charged me anyway and would not refund the charge. I ended up having to dispute it through my credit card company. The breakfast was good, and the staff made some nice dinner recommendations.

Simply the best hotel I've ever stayed at - beautiful bedroom with lots of character, tasteful decor that complements the townhouse's original features, the most comfortable bed and pillows I've ever slept on, vert clean, the food was excellent and healthy (we decided to eat breakfast there everyday it was so good and so much to choose from - they also do afternoon tea and sunday roasts), perfect location on the outskirts of the city centre so quieter on the surrounding streets but a 10 minute walk from the town centre with bustling bars and restaurants, and the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. If I ever visit Porto again I'll certainly come back here!

This is a really special spot; the entrepreneurs have a neat concept to run a bed and breakfast above a super high quality cafe. We absolutely loved coming downstairs for breakfast in the morning before the cafe opened to the general public . The old townhouse and our hotel room were aesthetically stunning, but unfortunately lost a few points on functionality. The bathroom didn’t have any counter-height surfaces on which to place toiletries or hand soap, the shower/bathtub didn’t have a shelf either so you had to reach all the way to the floor outside of the free-standing tub to grab shampoo/soap, the shower faucet control was broken, there was a giant gap between the floor and the door to enter the room so it sounded like diners downstairs were with us inside of our room, and finally, the bathroom had no ceiling on it, so the light, noise, and sound traveled freely between bed and bath areas. All of these issues could be fixed, so we would still recommend friends to stay here. The staff were so so friendly, and the food is off the charts.

The hospitality was especially good from Raquel Gonçalves, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and helped us to make reservations and plan our trip, which showed her attention to detail, and wonderful hosting skills. We really appreciate all the nice touches and beauty of the space. We would love to come back to Porto to enjoy it again!

Absolutely lovely place. Trust the other reviewers and try the $15 euro breakfast one day. It is more than you could possibly eat and everything is made on site. The two women on staff made amazing recommendations for dinner places...everyone of them was a hit. They do have a restaurant not too far from the hotel, but it is the exact same menu as the hotel, so not sure why you would go there when you have the hotel restaurant on site. The space, hospitality and friendliness of the staff is fabulous. Only have 1 thing that doesn’t make the site perfect, it is a bit noisy. Meaning, we could hear everything going on in the room across from us and above us. Otherwise, the rooms and entire facility are charming And oh yes, the nightly turn down service with cookies made that day...sweet and delicious touch

Our stay at Rosa Et Al was absolutely perfect. We were fortunate enough to stay in their newest room, the garden suite, which had plenty of space. It is a stand alone building with its own private terrace in the back (complete with outdoor shower!). In order to get to the garden suite, you walk through the beautiful gardens. This might have been our favorite place to hang out and have a drink.

In the morning we took advantage of their delicious breakfast, which everyone should add on to their stay. The scones are the best we’ve ever had, along with the butter!

The attention to detail and service is what made our stay so perfect. The front desk staff was so helpful and incredibly accommodating. Joanna was there for our check in and helped plan our stay in Porto. She pretty much put together a walking itinerary and some restaurant recommendations, which were all excellent. The front desk also will help you make reservations if you would like. This made us feel comfortable in a city we’ve never visited before.

Our room and space was clean and freshened everyday and my personal favorite was their turn down service. Such a great way to end the day in a special city.

We will definitely be back...Rosa Et Al is one of our favorites!

Beautiful stay in Porto

The house is absolutely stunning. Very unassuming door on a somewhat busy street leads in to an internal sanctuary. Quiet front room reception, back kitchen and yard are all open and airy. Original wood plank floors and big windows, the house oozes old world charm. Staff is warm and friendly; breakfast was show-stoppingly good. My room was on the top floor facing the back garden with a little external writing desk and balcony. Only potential draw back would be the 4 flights of stairs I had to climb to get to my room. Fine for me as I'm in good health and youngish but I could see this being problematic for older or disabled visitors.

This hotel has some beautiful architectural details and the staff was ever so friendly and helpful, a special shout out to Alex, and his great restaurant recommendations. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We had a spacious loft on the top floor. The design is very open with plenty of natural light. Would definitely return to Porto and this hotel.

The Rosa Et Al Townhouse is very near many places if you’re willing to walk. Taxis are extremely reasonable.

We were on the third floor. No elevator. You walk up beautiful wooden stairs with nice paintings. Each landing has a sitting area. At the top of the third floor is a small library.

The property is beautiful, clean and inviting and romantic. The room was just the right size. No TV. Nice and comfortable queen bed. The large beautiful tall crowfoot tub is behind a glass wall, no privacy and getting in/out takes a little extra effort. The space is a extremely small. Holding onto the glass door can be treacherous (fear of breaking the door). Need a little more space to get in/out the tub and something to hold on to and perhaps a decorative covering over the glass. Not everyone likes to bathe naked in front of another person, even if a significant other.

The room is equipped with a basin, bidet and toilet behind a small beautiful leather looking bookcase that works as a partition. Gorgeous.

The staff is wonderful, friendly and happy to help you with any information. The outlets are European, bring an adapter.

The Rosa Et Al Townhouse is a beautiful and quiet location. I enjoyed my 2.1/2 days. Highly recommended.

We loved Rosa et Al Townhouse. The staff are very friendly and gave us lots of tips on places to visit and to eat. The breakfast menu has a lot of choice and everything was delicious. We enjoyed sitting in the garden. Our room was beautiful and there were lots of nice touches. Overall it felt like a home away from home. The only downside of the location is that our room was on the street and we could hear the noise of the street (traffic and bin lorries) at night.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I awoke to birds chirping and lovely sunlight over the garden. The bathroom and facilities are also nice and the bed comfortable. Ask for a top floor room as the floors are a bit creaky. I also had an in-room massage which was great. It's located a little off the beaten path in a safe area. And the local restaurants (fewer tourists) are very good.

The staff is so very helpful at Rosa et al, and made wonderful suggestions for our trip long before we arrived. They answered a myriad of questions through emails, and made every effort to make sure we would have the best experience. The staff learned our names, and made excellent recommendations for activities and dinner reservations. The hotel itself is lovely, and has unique touches that really made us feel at home, like cookies in the evening, a complimentary bottle of port, and an amazing selection of 30 complimentary home-made teas that we could choose from. Johnathan made wonderful recommendations for dinner, Raquel was extremely helpful, and Isabel was very friendly. Truly one of the best experiences we have ever had, and being very well traveled in literally hundreds of hotels, Rosa et Al is exactly what one should expect from an exceptional hotel with old-school service and hospitality.

Perfect + Chic Stay in Artsy Hood

The hospitality was top notch and the location was perfectly situated. Just a few minutes walking to the central area and surrounded by lovely restaurants and boutiques. Can’t wait to get back! Only concern was our room was on the top level without an elevator. No problem for us, but something to be mindful of!

Comfortable, stylish—would recommend!

The staff at Rosa et al were wonderful and welcoming—we had just come in after an overnight flight and were greeted with amazing coffee (get the flat white!) and breakfast in the garden. The design and attention to detail of the townhouse made it our favorite hotel of our trip. It was just a short walk to downtown Porto in a quiet location—you definitely feel like a local. Some of the people working the reception seemed new to the area, so it would have been nice if they were a bit more knowledgeable. Also, our room didn’t have a separate bathroom (it was just behind a divider), so keep that in mind if that sort of thing is important to you!

We had a fantastic time at Rosa Et Al and highly recommend it. It's a great base to explore Porto, in a funky part of town. Staff are wonderful- very friendly and knowledgeable about their beautiful city. The townhouse is tastefully decorated and has its own garden and cafe, with a delicious menu. There are also activities and services on offer - we had the in-room massage (perfect after a long flight), plus bike tour and cooking workshop with Emmanuel- all were worthwhile. Can't wait to come back!

Lovely Townhouse in an arty area of Porto

It was a pleasure to stay at Rosa Et Al Townhouse. The building is beautiful inside and out - the design is sophisticated, modern and tasteful. When we arrived, we learnt that our room had been upgraded. The room we were given was large, stylish and comfortable.

The staff were professional and friendly at all times. As a result of the smaller size of the establishment, they really personalised their attention towards you.

As mentioned in the title, the townhouse is located in an arty area - which is safe and not far from the centre of Porto.

I would highly recommend staying here to any couple wanting to spend a few days in Porto.

We had a marvelous time at Rosa et al. My husband and I agreed it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the facilities were in perfect condition, the food and other supplementary experiences were wonderful, and the location was ideal (about a half a kilometer from main shopping and restaurant areas leading to sights). I would 100% stay here again if I were in Porto.

Wonderful stay at my new favourite spot in Porto!

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Rosa et Al. The staff are very friendly and instantly make you feel at home and comfortable. The building and decor are very beautiful and the attention to detail makes for a a very speical experience.
