I picked this hotel because it was one of the ones used for the tour and they changed us out!
Click tour this was pretty sad. Yet when you advertised this Beautiful Hotel as one of your to stay at.

Room's condition in terms of comfort was good but there was dust around and under the bed. We realised when we dropped our daughter's toys under the bed. Also shampoo was not refilled when we entered the room. Also water bottle wasn't refilled after day 1. Service ok but location is good.

The hotel rooms were good. Clean, staff is very friendly. The hotel is about a 15 min walk to mayor attractions but close to restaurants, etc.
This is a quiet area of the city. If you enjoy quiet, this is a good location. We stayed in other central areas, and they were, to our preference, better. Although they were busier in nature. Overall pleasant stay, rooms are good. The lobby of this 4 star hotel may need a few repairs, but nothing that would detract from a good experience. I would stay again as we had an enjoyable experience. Staff are genuinely nice.

The hotel was a little hard to find from the outside it seems like there’s only a plaque for the sign near the front door but besides that the hotel was beautiful from the second you walked in. The room was clean and while a little on the smaller side still very nice same with the bathroom. The hotel employees were very kind especially the bartender we encountered the night of our stay he showed us a new drink and was overall just a very friendly guy.

The social area in the hotel were nice, the parking was easy and the staff friendly. We had 2 rooms booked, one room was ok the other smelled really strongly of curry, it wasn’t pleasant. We did complain and they brought an air fresher up but didn’t do much. Only there for one night thankfully.

Like many cities in Europe, the \"old\" areas are a bit dirtier and there is a lot of graffiti. The streets are narrow and uneven so walking is a challenge.

Nice, clean, great service, bonus perks!

We stayed at Eurostars Das Artes as a family and really enjoyed our experience. The hotel, from lobby to the room, is clean, has elevators every step of the way, and we were welcomed by pasteis de nata and infused water when we checked in. Perhaps the most welcoming, however, was the concierge who checked us in, Catarina. She was very approachable and friendly, and gave us great recommendations for sights to see and places to eat - check-in was such a smooth process with her. This branch of Eurostars is a bit further from the centre of Old Town but still easily walkable and in a nice area. Note that the minipreco grocery store nearby might be closed, as we never saw it open, even during normal opening hours! There is still a minipreco express about 6 min walk away though. Overall, this was our favourite hotel to stay at in Portugal and we would stay again and recommend!

Great location but the worst Eurostars property I have stayed yet. Room representation on Expedia was wrong. Triple room said one double bed or three twin beds. We found the third bed to be a rollaway with the most uncomfortable mattress. I would have booked a separate room had I known. Expedia customer service was unhelpful and said I had to resolve with property. Girl at front seat was clueless and there was no supervisor or manager on site. Rooms were shabby. Shower gel empty. Neither reception or room service answers the phone. I went down to ask and they sent shampoo instead. Did not receive the free bottle of wine in any of the 4 rooms I booked. Wi-Fi does not work well in most of the rooms. One girl at the front desk and took thirty minutes to check in. No supervisor or manager available in the morning or evening to resolve issues. We were out on tours 8 am to 5 pm. Entry way small and we have to carry luggage up the stairs at the entrance. I only booked this hotel because of prior fantastic experience at Eurostar hotels in other cities. This was a disaster and I would not recommend it. Expedia also needs to fix the room description . They need to verify property description . Except location, nothing about this hotel was good. This is the only time in my multiple travels that I had to give a one star review

The front desk staff is often overwhelmed, confused, and unable to resolve basic issues. Room cleaning is always late and hurried. Bar service is great with Diego and Jasmine doing a great job and super friendly. Restaurant is open only for breakfast. Management should correct the areas of deficiencies in order to turn this small hotel into a good one.

If you are elderly, the bathroom is not equipped with enough grab bars. The shower door is glass and swings both ways so it is not stable and can crash into the sink. The tub is deep which is great for a bath but hard to negotiate without additional grab bars and the unstable shower door.

The hotel had a nice size room however there was water damage on the ceiling. The paint was peeling off the ceiling. Very bad. The lamp by the bed had frayed wires so we unplugged it fearing we would get shocked. And the hair dryer was ridiculous. If you ran it on high it stoppped in a matter of minutes and wouldn’t turn on again. You had to run it on low and that had no power at all.

In terms of staff (all reception staff and some of breakfast room staff) it was the worst experience I have had in an hotel for a long time. They were rude, surly and not interested in their guests. Queues in reception, not interested in giving recommendations and really can't be bothered sums them up. There are lots of nice hotels in Porto so don't bother with this one.

This hotel is run down, clearly not a four star hotel, likely a 2.5 or 3 at max. It would be OK if the price was lower, but at €100+ a night, one would expect a better combination of service, amenities, room cleanliness and state. Our room had a towel rack about to fall off the wall, barely able to hold the weight of the towels. Once told, staff said they would send maintenance to fix it, which was never done. Dirty mould around the bathtub, the list goes on. There are far better options in Porto, especially given that the location of this hotel is not particularly attractive. Go elsewhere.

Lovely, clean room with comfortable bed. Shower has awesome pressure! Breakfast buffet was very good - with many carbs! I am a light sleeper and had to use earplugs (which I find rather uncomfortable) because the street noise is quite loud between the tuktuk's, motorcycles and cars. Up the street and around the corner are several antique shops and we found a few small treasures.

Reception staff, with the exception of the young gentleman who was very helpful and pleasant, could have been more helpful. One clearly wanted to make interaction as curt as possible (making us feel uncomfortable), and the other provided vague directions. We decided to wait for the gentleman to be there when we had questions.

It is a reasonable hotel with no serious issue., Nothing exciting however, and the fact that it is promoted to be in the 'artistic' part of Porto is misleading since there are just a few minor galleries around.
A more central location is likely preferable.

Bedroom was comfortable with a very large bed. The room was clean with AC. Good natural light.
It’s certainly not a 4 star though. The hallways are a bit drab. We also had to call maintenance to remove the plug from our tub after taking a bath. The hotel car park was full so we parked in a 24 hour car park at a nearby shopping centre (the car park directly opposite does not open on weekends).

A drab hotel in a drab dark narrow street

We found our room not as illustrated on the web site. It was small with no bench to place cases except to dump them on the floor. This lead to tripping over them in the dark!
No airconditioning in the warm stuffy hallway with lights occasionally illuminating as you walk down the hallway.
The TV was a small bench top unit.
The hotel interior appears to need a total upgrade as it has dropped to approx.3.5 stars

We were greeted with an explanation that a larger party than our 7 were going to be checking in so we would nor be getting the rooms we were promised because as a larger group they were \"the priority\". That was very insulting to us as I am sure they did not pay more than we did for their stay. Additionally, there was no help to get our luggage up the steps to get inside the lobby or even up to our rooms. The hotel is old and outdated with stains all over the carpeting. The room itself was adequate, beds were clean and made up and the location was good. That is the only thing that could be considered positive about this hotel.I tend to write really nice reviews but in this case it was not possible. I would never stay in a Eurostar hotel again if this is representative of what they are like.

I would not recommend this hotel to a friend. Not even a box of Kleenex in the room. Shower almost scalded or froze me. Decor was very sparse and outdated. No screen on window and a bird flew into my room. AC hard to figure out.

No air-conditioning during our stay in November

Definitely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I've stayed in many different hotels in Barcelona and this one was the highest-rated/most expensive -- only to be let down. For starters, the front desk was not helpful in booking tickets for Park Guell/Sagrada Familia. Many times I've had the front desk offer to buy the tickets on their own computer using my credit card so I don't need to do so through my tiny cell phone screen.
More importantly however...it's important to note this hotel DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING as advertised. We have to keep our windows open all night long..and it is still hot in our room. They say it is because it is winter but that is not common for hotels here. On their website it says they have air-conditioning when that is simply not the case.

Amenities don't match the high prices

Although the room was clean and quiet and reasonable size for a European hotel, it lacked some basic amenities like a coffee maker, iron or ironing board.
No full service restaurant, just breakfast in the morning.
During the hours when the bar was supposedly open there would be nobody there until we went to the reception desk and asked them to send somebody...
Hotel is a bit out of the way on a secluded street.

The hotel was fine except for the noise. It's very hard to sleep there.
The walls seem to be made of paper and every night it sounded like
the neighbors were moving furniture. There are seagulls that squawk
to wake you up. They seemed to be on top of my window every day.

Staff was friendly, courteous, professional and quick. Helped us avoid parking tickets by guiding us with some obscure sign in front of the hotel (handicap). Parking is somewhat limited in the hotel but we found a garage opposite the hotel (with the help of the hotel staff of course) that has a comparable pricing to the hotel.

Perfect hotel for exploring Porto

I arrived late at Porto airport and therefore didn't get to the hotel until a quarter past midnight, but the staff was friendly and checked me in without problems. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay, due to a booking error on my part, so I got to experience 2 rooms in one visit. Both rooms were clean and spacious and stocked with excellent shower and moisturising products and a lovely bathrobe.
The hotel breakfast was excellent, lots of options. I would definitely recommend it.
The location of the hotel was great for exploring the city, yet far enough from the touristy centre to be quiet and peaceful, particularly at night.
The staff was friendly and very helpful; I would definitely recommend Eurostar des Artes for anyone travelling to Porto.

Nice base for a few days in Porto

Hotel met all the standards of the high-end category. Good room with good amenities. We were given a room on the 1st floor giving unto the street, AND across from the elevator. Understandably, we were a bit worried with the noise. We worried needlessly.

One complaint...although the hotel offers free wifi, it limits the number of devices that can connect. Please, step into the reality of the multi-device life!

Lastly, and not a complaint but a matter of taste, the mattress was wooden board hard. If you need a softer mattress, make sure to mention it when you book the room.

Besides that, location was perfect. We parked the car at the hotel. Forgot about it for three days and walked everywhere.
