The guest house is in a great, central location, close to restaurants and sights. Easy to access from the airport (Line E to Trinidade and transfer for 1 stop to Aliados), although the hotel is then another 7 min walk up a steep hill.
The room is very basic, like a dorm, bare bones. Shower is small and leaked water. Would be great if they had a coffeemaker in the room or even cups. The alternative is to go the kitchen on the 2nd floor between 8-5 to request it. Breakfast is included, starting at 8 am and is a simple continental spread.
The worst part of the stay is the loud noise all through the night that you can hear even from the higher floors, recommend going somewhere else if you’re a light sleeper or bring ear plugs. Otherwise, it’s ok for a few nights.

The room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and location was great. Breakfast was uninspired. I’d say this was a two star hotel. Very affordable though compared to others in the area. There is noise from the clubs in the area at night, yet I didn’t find it too bothersome.

BEDBUGS!!!!!! Many unpleasant aspects: extremely loud club music through the floor until 6am even on weekdays, wifi worked maybe 1/3 of the time, they have a policy where you can't take your room keys outside requiring an interaction (or basically permission) to leave. All that I can deal with but being covered in itchy red welts from BEDBUGS is unacceptable! After inspecting the bed we found a couple bugs and signs that they had been living on that mattress for a while. Gross.

It was very clean and front desk staff were great. They allowed me to keep my bag there while touring the city prior to check in. The downside is that it is near night clubs and a strip club is next store so there was music playing until 3 am so I got no sleep after traveling overnight the night before. I could hear breakfast set up early morning and just got no sleep. The beds were also very hard and uncomfortable. You stay at a place like this just to have a bed to sleep and a shower with no frills. But if you can’t sleep there is no point which brings me to my overall poor rating. I checked out a day early to go elsewhere.

The guest house was overall fine, clean and tidy and staffed 24/7 which made checking in easy. We weren’t aware until arriving that it is right next door to a strip club, which had very loud music going until 4am. The bed was also very uncomfortable.

This weird little place is over a strip club, with loud, pounding music and shouting revelers till dawn on a Tuesday! Tiny room with a lightless window to an alley; dirty blanket. After booking one night, they emailed me that 2 nights were required so I paid for 2 but left as soon as I could get out of there. Nothing positive to say except that it's well-located--find something else nearby!

This property was in a great location for visiting the centre of Porto. There were loads of things to do within easy walking distance and the included breakfast was very helpful. The surrounding area was a little noisy, but that is to be expected in a busy city.

Booked last minute and was exactly what we expected for the money. Clean and friendly, super little breakfast and right in the middle of everything. We arrived very late on a Monday night and nothing was any trouble. Brilliant.
Not sure if the surrounding bars are always open late but on the night we stayed, the music was thump, thump, thumping til around 3-4am.
Not a problem for us as we both like a busy neighbourhood and find the noise quite a comfort.

The hotel room is not comfortable. We were moved (from a single) to the double we paid for after 1st night. A 3-star is never going to be fancy but there’s still things you would expect (comfy linen, a shower with holder, a tv that has a remote and isn’t in the top corner of the room) after paying nearly £300. The breakfast is very cheap ingredients and a lot of sugar. The staff were friendly and helpful which was nice. The location is very convenient for exploring the city, but be aware you are above a row of bars open until 4am (great if you’re looking for that kind of trip). Overall our stay didn’t represent good value for money.

It was very friendly staff. The best part was the breakfast staff. The ladies went above and beyond and brought full breakfast to our room even though they didn't have to, each of the 3 days we were there! Everyone was extremely friendly and there was nice places to eat and drink on the other street so very convenient to stay there!

Had to sit sideways on the toilet to give you an idea of the tight squeeze. Great area during the day and close to many things.

This property had a great location, right near the famous bookstore and several of the iconic churches of Porto... BUT when I read about the noise complaints from other reviews I thought I could just sleep through it (I am a deep sleeper).... Location was excellent. Noise was not so bad as it was said by others. There was no safe in the room and a note on the door saying if anything happens hotel takes no responsibility. And reception refuse to keep anything except passport. It didn't say it was with shared bathroom until I receive the confirmation. There were only 2 showers with an additional toilet to share with others, one of showers was broken and I had to hold it while I was using. There is no phone, no fridge, no sink and no mirror in the room. Breakfast was 3 pieces of bread with jam/butter and tea/coffee. Air-conditioning /TV were working.

It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. You have to lock yourself in your room which is a fire hazard. They make you give back the key when you go out which is unusual. The rooms were small and it is an extremely loud neighborhood. The beds were okay, but not great. Wouldn't stay here again, but it would work in a pinch. I certainly wouldn't give it 3 stars, 2 at best.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room (#203) was small, but clean and comfortable. The guest house is situated near restaurants, Lello bookstore, and walking distance from everywhere we wanted to visit. Breakfast was basic, but was as advertised and was enough. The only drawback for us was that our room was directly above a bar/restaurant that played music every night until 4 a.m. and that disturbed our sleep. I would gladly stay here again if we could be guaranteed a room on the top floor, not where we stayed. Thank you!

are a two minute walk to the Guest House---it feels more like a

If you’re looking for a bed and place to leave your stuff, it’ll do. The rooms are clean and the bed not terribly uncomfortable. The air conditioners work well and there are blackout curtains. It is in a very convenient location for exploring the city center also.
You will need the blackout curtains to catch up on the sleep you didn’t get before 6am because you can here the shouting and thumping music of nearby bars. I am a heavy sleeper and fell asleep before the noise started and it didn’t wake me, but upon waking up once anyway it was hard to fall back asleep.
The wifi is basically nonexistent. I tried to connect in my room and it told me the password was not correct, which was not true as I was able to get (an albeit weak) signal in the lobby. The front desk couldn’t offer much help with this problem.
Breakfast is available but it is 2 buns and a croissant with butter and jam, plus coffee and watered down Tang masquerading as juice. Passable if you’re not a big breakfast eater.
Finally the toilet in my room didn’t seem to flush properly. This was probably unique to my room and by the time I discovered it (I didn’t spend much time there), I was too frustrated to bother asking the front desk to look at it.
The front desk was friendly and helpful enough but there isn’t much that they can do to fix the fundamental problems with this place once you are there.

Great convenient location to tour around the main areas of Porto. In the nightlife district but stayed on a Sunday night so was very quiet. Basic but clean room and the air conditioner worked very well and washrooms were clean.

This hotel was located right in the historic part of porto with good access to all the sights. However, if you are a light sleeper this hotel is not for you. The music from the rock band in one of the neighboring night clubs reverberates until 4 am in the morning. It starts at about 10 pm. Take your ear plugs with you if you want a peaceful nights rest. The hotel also debited my credit card for $104 on top of the tariff and the municipal tax. When queried they said it was the Expedia commission. Never been charged before when i booked through expedia.

The bathroom had a toilet set in the corner with a basin in front of it, it was impossible to access. The noise from the street was constant till 5am then the street cleaning began also unbearably loud. Breakfast was great and the ladies who served it very nice.

Great location and not a bad looking place. I would find something else for next time due to the service. The door guy asked that I leave the key with him which I think is crazy and he gave me a super hard time when I had a quick visitor (just visitor, not a sleepover) because my room was registered for one guest. I even offered 50 euros in tip (more than I paid for the entire stay) and he did not want to work with me. Also they played some kind of game when I arrived telling me there were no rooms (sold out); when I told them that hotels.com showed 2 rooms available they told me I was wrong. So I booked the room thru hotels.com in front of the receptionist and got my room for that night. I don't know why they played games with me. I am a 35 year old professional traveling by myself; there was no need for this.

Perfect Hostel for Nightlife
Let's be clear! This is not a hotel in the sense that you might be thinking. This is more of a fancier hostel. I love hostels and so I really enjoyed my stay here. If you do not like hostels, you might have a rougher time. The rooms are very small (but I loved that) and the shower/toilet is communal. I just needed a clean, comfy bed and a clean place to shower, and that's what I got. This guesthouse is not just near the nightlife, it is in the nightlife. You hear EVERYTHING once 2300 hits. It didn't bother me, but people who need absolute silence to sleep will hate it. It was also in the perfect area for shopping, food, and transportation (it's right up the street from the metro).
The only thing I did not like was the breakfast. It was just cold rolls with orange juice and coffee. I would have loved warmed bread with a good selection of jams. It was so bad that we only had it once during our weeklong stay.
Everything else (especially the staff) was amazing. I would recommend this hostel/guesthouse to anyone going to Porto!

We always wanted to go to Portugal. We were going to Spain and decided to extend the trip and spend 3 days in Porto, Portugal. Loved it!

We had a warm welcome. The room was small and the air conditioning was noisy. The bathroom was a bit small and I doubt whether people of a certain size would get into the shower cabinet. Having said that we were able to leave our rucsacks in a safe place while we looked around Porto for most of the day which was very useful.

We only stayed one night and thank god it wasn't a week! Everyone at the hotel was helpful and nice, but at night, the street gets really loud because of bars outside and the music was really intense until about 3 am. The beds were not confortable at all and the bathrooms are shared. It's very well located so if you like to party at night and are not staying for long, you'll enjoy. We are just not party people and the location wasn't quiet enough for our needs.

Clean, renovated hotel with lift, cleaned daily, simple but good breakfast, the hotel is within minutes of centre, train station, shops. A bit noisy at night as located on a busy street but it didn't bother us at all. All toiletries included, the bed is little hard to sleep on. Staff are amazing, very helpful and efficient. WiFi, towels changed daily if needed.
