Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The towel rack in the bathroom was lying on the floor so it was unusable. The floor in the shower was marble so it was very slippery and unsafe. There were no handrails in the shower to hold on to steady oneself on the slippery marble floor. Breakfast choices were many. The croissant I had was stale but the rest of the pastries were fine, as were the other breakfast options. Parking was a block away and there was a fee per day to park. Lugging luggage up to the parking lot was an experience.

Good location with excellent staff

Lovely 2 night break. Reception staff were always very pleasant and helpful. Lobby smelt lovely. Room was compact but expected for a city centre hotel, cute balcony facing the street.
Breakfast was very good, cold and hot options. staff very welcoming.
Good location near the Clerigos Church.
All in all a perfect hotel for our needs.

Stayed at this historic property 10 years ago.
Returned to enjoy over again ... was not disappointed .. convenient in historic center of Porto, close to transportation, surrounded by restaurant opportunities, shopping, close to the river. Only wish that the hotel restaurant and bar had been open to re-light those particular memories. Would like to return once the ongoing Metro expansion is completed.

A nice small friendly hotel

To start with I was allowed to check in slightly earlier which was a bonus. The rooms were fine - basic but adequate and the bathroom was clean & shower superb!
Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and a big Thankyou to the ladies on reception who helped me purchase my Boavista match tickets online .
The metro station Aliados is 5 mins walk away max.
A bit hilly walking back from the river but I would definitely recommend this for a low cost stay

Weekend break in Porto

The hotel is in a quiet side street, just off one of the main squares in Porto. It is really handy to walk to nearly all the main tourist attractions, although we hadn’t realised Porto was so hilly. Very close to a couple of railway stations. Receptionists were very friendly and spoke excellent English. Rooms ok, beds comfy, where we were it was very quiet. Breakfast is help yourself. Good range of breads, pastries, yoghurts, cereals, not much cooked and a bit basic. Didn’t eat dinner there as there are hundreds of places to eat. Very enjoyable stay, lots to do in Porto.

The hotel is in a historical building and it has got very interesting architectural. The location of the hotel is great. It’s close to many restaurants and historical sites. The staff were fantastic. We stayed at hotel internacional for three nights. The location is amazing if you wanna do sightseeing since you can walk everywhere.
The room was small but very nice. There was a bit of mould in the ceiling of the bathroom which could be easily removed. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Would definitely chose this one again

A perfect place to stay in downtown Porto! Right off the main plaza but actually very quiet. Conveniently close to everything we wanted to see. (Parking (we chose the public lot to save a few bucks) was a few blocks away but once our car was there we walked everywhere). The hotel restaurant looked good but there were so many great options nearby that we didn’t have the chance to try it. Service was friendly and helpful

The hotel staff were exceedingly helpful. The building inside is very quaint, however the rooms and breakfast are basic, but clean. Our room was very small, but we were moved to another room without any hesitation. The location is great, plenty of transport links and easy walking distance.

The hotel is very quaint. I love that it’s small and hosts just a few people at a time. The decor is beautiful in the common areas. The room was perfect for one person, but would have been a bit too small if there were two of us. Breakfast was satisfactory and had good choices. The restroom door in my room did not close all the way. It would’ve been an issue if there was more than just me. The shower head sprays all over the place (in and out of the shower, but can probably be easily fixed (room 313). Also, the window did not open properly and at times the room got quite a bit humid. The bed was comfortable and I appreciate the options in pillow types. The location is perfect and just walking distance from literally everything.

Very centrally located, near all attractions, shops, bars and Sao Bento train station. The standard double room we had was very, very small but otherwise in good condition. Due to the minimal size of the room, the air-conditioning blows straight onto the bed, which is not ideal. Breakfast had little choice and not great quality. Staff stuck tightly to the 2pm check in time, although I'm sure that rooms must have been available when we arrived at 12.45 pm. For the heavily discounted price we paid this hotel was alright, but their standard room rate is in no relation to the quality.

The hotel is close to the Sao Bento train station, and to all main attractions in Porto. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful, although there was little variety day to day. The room is good size and with good windows that completely shut out street noise. Floors are creaky, making it hard for me to move around while my wife was sleeping. Plumbing is new and smooth, but the shower controls were a little confusing at first.

Parking is not park of the hotel it’s down the street. Felt like a very safe location but had police stationed right at the corner 24/7. Room was clean and Nice. The beds were firm. It was a nice hotel, very centrally located. Easy to moderate walk to most things.

Disappointing stay

Just stayed here for two nights in Nov. 2017. Despite some reviews hinting at the state of the hotel, I was not prepared. An old hotel isn’t bad, but this hotel just needs a facelift. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. I could feel every single spring and there was absolutely a slope in it based on where previous body weight has been. I had to sleep diagonally in the bed so I didn’t feel like I was going to roll off. The white tile in the bathroom looks stained and dusty, and there were spots of black mold above the shower on the ceiling and the surrounding molding. The air conditioning couldn’t be used because it gave off a pretty gross moldy smell as well. The caulking and grout in the shower were stained black with mold and soap scum, and the faucet on the sink was placed so far away from the actual sink, that it was impossible to use the sink without flooding the entire counter and bathroom. Everything else just looked like it needed to be replaced, from the lobby to the actual room. Really kind staff and a cute BASIC little breakfast, and the hotel was in a great location, but other than that... I would not recommend at all. I know you get what you pay for (and I did book last minute and got a very cheap rate), but this seemed to much worse than the 3.8 star rating the hotel has on here... unless I just have very high expectations!

Good location, a bit noisy

This hotel is situated in the heart of Porto. It’s location is its strength. It is located close to the main avenue and many restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is also good. There is no parking on site although there is a garage that the hotel directs you to up the street that cost $17 euros a day. Once parking is factored in, this hotel is quite expensive . The rooms are very small and are noisy. During the warmer months, your choice will be between having the air conditioner blowing on you at night or opening the window and hearing street noise all night. The street noise while we visited was loud throughout the night and early morning.

Kind of an \"old world\" hotel. Good location, friendly staff. Room for one was in the back and very quiet. Very nice breakfast buffet. Did not visit restaurant and bar. Not very modern but has \"character\". Beds are ok but single mattress on platform-pillows could have been better. Clean room and convenient to all major sights-totally walkable. Many restaurants in area and a short walk to Sao Bento station. Safe area. Great Fado (Santo Fado) just a few doors down.

Excellent Centrally Based Value for Money Hotel

This hotel is an excellent choice as base from which to explore the beautiful city of Porto. Its central location means that all of the city's most famous and popular sights and attractions are within walking distance. It is a very comfortable and clean hotel and provides all that it promises. Facilities are more than adequate and all that is required when the focus of the visit is the city itself. Staff, particularly on Reception, are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is adequate and the buffet is kept well stocked. Overall the hotel provides very good value for money. Porto itself is a wonderful city providing many charms and pleasures beyond all the well known attractions.

Great Value!

After walking the Camino de Santiago I chose Porto Hotel Internacional as a place to relax and enjoy some leisure time before returning home. The Hotel staff were very helpful with orienting the spots I wanted to visit and also had valuable input for the \"must see\" areas. The included breakfast was very generous. There was only one issue. The room was very small but because the area was so beautiful and there was so much to do it turned out I spent very little time in it.
I would definitely stay at this hotel should I return to Porto.

Business Class Hotel Near Everything

If you are looking for a comfortable hotel within walking distance to all Porto has to offer, this is surely the place. The staff are very friendly and even upgraded my room when the smaller room I'd reserved wasn't available at the 2:00 Pm checkin time. A nice hearty breakfast served in the morning. You can't best the value at less than 75 euro per night!

Better choices

This hotel survives because it is pretty well located and more or less reasonably priced, but it is a middling choice. The beds are almost as hard as boards. Mine had no box spring, just a thin mattress on wooden planks. The place desperately needs some upgrading. It is old and feels it. Every time you walk, the floors squeak. If someone next door walks in to their room, you'll know it. If they take a shower, you'll know that, too, thanks to the thin walls. It's not a horrible value for the money, but when I can't get a decent bed to sleep in, I'm churlish. It's the first obligation of a hotel. The tiny beds and hard mattresses don't work. The breakfast is pretty reasonable for the modest level of the hotel, though.

The hotel charged the first night on my credit card one day before the limit for free cancelation. They argued it was only a pre-charge and that they will cancel it bur one week after leaving the hotel I still have the charge on my account.
Other drawback is that the breakfast is at 8h00 so if you are on business trip it is too late and better skeep it.

I stayed here for three nights in April. Very convenient location, just a few blocks from Sao Bento train station and easy to find. Helpful and pleasant front desk people. Clean room. Decent breakfast. Easy walking distance to all the touristy stuff. Two police stationed on the corner of the block the whole time.

Kind and friendly staff, lovely hotel with character, but I did not get one good night's sleep due to either loud drunkards (in February) inside or outside the hotel. If you are going there for a fun holiday and sleep is not an issue. The hotel is ideal as the location is in the heart of the city with easy access to many key sites by foot. Unfortunately I was in Porto for work and being awaken every morning at 2:30, 4:30, etc made my trip quite a disappointment.

Amazing staff, right off the square ..

The staff were wonderful and made our stay the best of the whole trip we took. I must especially recount the mature gentleman who checked us in as being very professional, but the front desk staff during other shifts were also very polite. Even the young man who took care of the breakfast room was quiet and efficient, understanding that jarring dishes are not a sound that is pleasant to anyone who has recently gotten out of bed. A charming hotel with a seasoned staff. Very nice!

Wonderful stay!
Everything was perfect! The staff is extremely kind, helpful and welcoming.
The breakfast was delicious and very varied.
The room super clean, quite and the heating system worked perfectly and silently.
The hotel is very well decorated, clean and fancy.
Great central location to reach all major points on foot, as well as metro and train stations.

Excellent petit déjeuner. La salle de bain est très petite mais fonctionnelle. Le parquet grince énormément on entend les gens marcher. Le personnel est sympa et à l'écoute des clients. Excellent emplacement pour visiter la ville

A localização do hotel é excelente. A pé voce faz tudo. Foi otima a minha reserva de ultima hora. Hotel bem conservado. Pessoal da recepção faz de tudo para voce se sentir bem. Ficaria com certeza novamente.
