I love the interior of this hotel and our room. The restroom is really nice with a separate door for the toilet and amazing rainshower. The bed and pillows are comfortable. Just not a fan of tne soap with honey scent but other than that, everything was great. The location is also close to the attractions. Will definitely book again!

The bed was very comfortable and the room was exactly as expected given the photos. Had a small bit of trouble controlling the room temperature, but I didn’t put much effort into learning the controls or calling the front desk. The breakfast was above average for a hotel spread, and was an excellent deal. I used the gym several times…small and dumbbells only go to 14k, but the functional trainer and cardio equipment worked well. The city location can’t be beat for accessibility on foot and rail to all the old town features, as long as you don’t have a car to park. Staff was extremely kind.

Great location, few minutes walk from many 'must visit' sites. VERY close to Sao Bento train station.

We were room only but paid extra for breakfast one morning. It was excellent. Great choice of food and really delicious.

Bonus of little swimming pool and tranquil gardens, oasis in a city centre.

Blackout curtains and sound proof windows guarantee a good nights sleep too.

The hotel was perfectly located for exploring Porto. The staff were all very welcoming, the room was excellent, the breakfast delicious. The swimming pool was a bonus and perfect for a quick dip after lots of walking. I will definitely stay here again as there is still plenty more to see in this wonderful city.

Area surrounding hotel was nice and it was easy walking distance to the historic centre. Staff were really helpful. We had a privilege garden view room and it was pleasing - nuxe shampoo/ conditioner , shower gel etc and a Dyson hairdryer which was a nice touch . Dressing gowns also provided. Breakfast was ok- enough on offer to please most .
Would definitely recommend and would return if staying in Porto again . The pool ( heated) was a welcome addition after a day exploring Porto .

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Porto. The location was perfect, within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast offered plenty of choice to suit all tastes, and the pool area was clean and well maintained. Our room was spacious, and having a balcony with a view of the pool was a lovely bonus – the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the fabulous city.

Great location in downtown Porto. Step outside and you are minutes walk from the main attractions. Step inside and the hotel is an oasis of calm. Really nuce to have the pool and garden to relax in after a busy day of activities. Nice rooms, decor, staff and breakfast. Really made our holiday.

Great hotel. Friendly staff and quiet room with garden terrace which felt very private. Brilliant location- walking distance to all sites in historic old town. We walked across the bridge to Gaia too. We chose this hotel for its location and because of the outdoor pool and we were glad we did. Higher temperatures than normal meant we could spend a couple of days relaxing at the pool and enjoyed the food at the hotel patio bar/restaurant which was excellent. We would definitely choose to stay here again!

Amazing stay in a very convenient location! Everything within short walking distance which is extra important in Porto where roads can be quite steep. We find ourselves (two girls) safe returning to the hotel at night by walk after visiting to main tourist spots. The room is clean and comfy, will definitely recommend!

Hotel was amazing. Super cute, clean and walkable to main atractions in Porto! There are literally plenty of restaurants as you walk outside the hotel. There is no \"front door\" drop off/pick up for cars, but you only have to walk 30 steps to get to the main street to be picked up. Overall amazing stay and close to everything.

Lovely hotel, loved the decor, the lobby, the room, the service, the breakfast- excellent!

We had a car, so were nervous about parking, yet there was public parking near by. We lucked up with a space near the elevator in the parking lot and walked across a courtyard, crossed the street and were at our hotel. And, the cost was 50% off by staying at the hotel- $20 per night versus $40.

Just back from a 3 night stay here. We were absolutely delighted with our choice the stay at this hotel. The location is perfect; close to everything you would want to see and do. About a 10 minute walk to the river. We had breakfast each morning and this was great as well. Everything you would want for breakfast including some nice local touches. The rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and spotless. The balcony overlooking the garden was a welcome bonus! Highly recommended! Many thanks to the Mercury Centro Aliados for a brilliant stay!

The Mercure is an excellent hotel in the heart of Porto historical district. It's walking distance to everything to-do in Porto. The rooms are spacious, and very comfortable. The staff is amazing, extremely helpful and go out of their way to make sure you're happy. We're English speaking and so is the staff. I noticed the staff speaks multiple languages in order to accommodate the foreign travelers.
We highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel in a good central location, lovely garden room in the basement, cleaned regularly with replacement towels. Good pool area for sitting on a hot afternoon. The only disappointment we had was the very poor bar service. Ordered drinks, barman carried on conversation with the kitchen staff, ignoring our order, also offered to serve another guest who suggested he completed out order first! Also since when does an Aperol Spritz have tap water in it?
