This property is amazing. My husband and I wanted to change the rest of our trip just to stay here longer. The hotel is beautiful. The staff is amazing, they bring service to whole new level. We did visit the hotel bar and again, great service. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this haven to anyone!

We loved our stay! The hotel was top tier, walking distance to all the main attractions and restaurants. The service was impeccable and most importantly, the breakfast was so delicious!! I highly recommend getting the breakfast because the selection was more than what we expected and the quality of the food/service was outstanding! Our room was very spacious, clean and the bathroom was very aesthetically pleasing. Thank you again for making our stay perfect.

Beautiful hotel in great location

This is a beautiful hotel and our suite was well appointed and had one of the best showers I have ever found in a hotel. Turn down service and cleanliness was fabulous.
We had trouble keeping the room cool enough, the controls were confusing and would revert back to a default in the middle of the night.
Staff was attentive and helpful but ultimately was unable to secure us dinner reservations other than in their own hotel and did not seem to have many restaurants that they worked with.

Hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! Wow!!! The concierge was phenomenal and am even arranged for my manicure and pedicure in room. The drinks in American Bar were delicious and it was really hard NOT to eat every meal at the Japanese restaurant. I had some of the best sushi and nigiri of my life. Overall, this was outstanding. A true 5 star experience, congrats to staff!

We had a superb stay here, it s truly a 5 star hotel and we enjoyed the luxury of the room, the spa (sad that sauna was not working) and the bar. Not all 5 star hotels are truly 5 stars....this one is! Congratulations to the staff and the person who is in charge.

our suite has 2 sinks and the one on the left side the hot water faucet was not functional. For that level of hotel in my opinion it is not acceptable.

We had two rooms for my family of 3…one had a queen and the other two (abutting) twins. They put us in rooms next to one another in an area where we had a private hall so we could keep our doors open between our rooms which I thought was very thoughtful of them. The only negative was that we had no view (some interior space, we just kept curtains closed), but it was worth it for the convenience for us. Rooms were both beautifully appointed with everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Rooms were very clean and nice sized. Bathrooms were lovely marble with double sinks and separate commode room and shower stall. Bed was sooo comfortable. Room www quiet, dark and cool which made for a great sleep. Water bottles and macrons at the turn down service was a nice touch. Front desk staff was very kind as was the bellman. He went out of his way to be friendly and helpful on several occasions during our short two night stay. Beautiful restaurant attached to the hotel although unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to have a chance to try them. My son used the gym and pool and said it was great. We had a late day flight out and asked for a late checkout. They said to check that day, and if they were able to accommodate us keeping one room later they would. And as they said, if they can accommodate they will and they did, letting us stay until 2pm…and it felt like that throughout on all levels. Very nice location. If/when I go back to Porto, I will hope to stay at here again.

It was a bit out of the hub. I wouldn’t stay here again. The concierge was not helpful. She sent me to the Flores street and said most of the places are pretty good without making a recommendation. She also didn’t mention that restaurants close in the afternoon.

Amazing hotel in the centre of Porto. Rooms are tastefully decorated and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is extensive with lots of choices. You can order eggs and bacon etc.. to be served at your table. The staff and service couldn’t have been nicer. Great Hotel!

We had a suite booked for 4 nights and everything was superb. We asked for a tea kettle and tea bags which were also provided. The coffee shop food etc wasn’t a good experience the quality and portions etc left a lot to be desired. I think the chef for coffee shop is not good for that kind of hotel. Breakfast was good can be better display. The library was amazing place to relax .

The rooms were beautiful and the design aesthetic was spectacular. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our vacation. The rooms were very clean and luxurious. We had a suite at the beginning and a superior room at the end. We promptly upgraded ourselves to a suite. The suite is significantly better than the superior room, in terms of its size, closet space and overall feeling of luxury. It’s worth paying extra for the suite. In terms of amenities, we enjoyed the beautiful bar - it has the best service we experienced in Portugal. The indoor pool is also lovely, although you can hear the subway. The front desk service, while very courteous, is a little slow and they don’t always answer the phone when you call down. They can use an extra person on staff at the front desk. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Well worth the price!

The hotel is lovely. Very centrally located - you can walk to everything especially as Porto is relatively compact. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay special. The rooms are very nice, the bathroom is lovely. All the amenities you’d want in a highly rated hotel.
We did not partake in the continental breakfast (25 Euro) not did we dine at either restaurant so I cannot comment on the quality of the food but given what I experienced with the rest of the hotel, I’m sure the experience would be positive.

Magnificent Hotel in Porto

This is one very fine hotel! We were blown away by the quality of construction-- the lobby, restaurants, rooms, etc, and learned that it was opened last November by a French hotel group. It is beautiful. The staff was also very friendly and very, very professional-- obviously well trained and proud of their occupations. It is also in the best of locations in Porto.

The architecture of the main building is amazing and beautifully renovated showcasing the moorish influence. It was a pleasurable experience sitting in the rooms enjoying the decor. We choose to stay in the next building in s suite. It was beautiful with an amazing view of the sea. The staff was very accommodating, pleasant and was there to address any of our request. The perfect hotel for a Porto visit!

Superb hotel in perfect location in Porto. When we return to Porto, we will stay there again. The decorators did a phenomenal job, the entire place is beautiful, tons of great details: chests of draws lined with soft fabric, antique light switches for the romantic lighting, satin lined hangers, etc...The concierge service was phenomenal. The breakfast buffet was quite sophisticated. The Cafe americain and the library were great places to hang out. Free pastels de nata, a nice touch... When we return to Porto (great city!), we will stay at this \"Monumental Palace\" again!

The bathroom is particularly beautiful and well thought out. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and everything is made to improve your stay. The breakfast is very good, and the buffet very well provisioned however improvements could be made to the made-to-order dishes (minor though).

Location of the hotel is perfect in the city to walk to the river and sites. The spa has a pool and sauna you can access for free and our very relaxing. The hotel is beautiful, new and clean. The staff are very accommodating. For parking pull in front of the hotel on the street and the staff will park it for you.
