While preserving period architectural elements like the façade and vintage interiors, the building has been meticulously updated for 21st-century comfort.

Following its complete restoration in April 2021, this premium hospitality project now offers 24 uniquely themed apartments celebrating the building's rich history. Each apartment draws inspiration from fashion icons, paying homage to the building's past life as a fashion magazine in the late 19th century.

We loved staying here! Felt like our own apartment in the city. FYI you have to check in virtually ahead of time and upload your passports. I received the code to get in and that all worked great. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Our room had some issues - leaking into our suite after a heavy rainfall, electrical panel kicking out due to faulty wiring, shower door needed to be repaired, wobbly kitchen chairs. The staff were excellent in correcting these things for us. The suites are decorated nicely, great location. But we expected more from the property owner with the quality of the fixtures that we didnt have to deal with these problems.

Love the layout of the 2 bedroom. Wish there was a better shower option that doesn’t flood the bathroom floors and could have used extra waters to begin our stay, otherwise loved it. Great location and staff is lovely and accommodating.

Libere was not our first choice but we chose it because my other choice was sold out.

After the 2nd night we stayed there, I had several bites on my arm and didn't think too much of it and thought they might be mosquito bites. But, after returning home, I saw a row of bug bites on my arm-- and quickly googled-- most likely bedbug bites. My husband had some too. They were only mildly itchy and looked very different from mosquito bites or spider bites. I hate to say this. I think they got bedbugs. I'm chill about it because I am a medical professional but it is still a terrible experience.

The kitchen and bathroom trashcans are very small. They don't clean your room on a daily basis. If you want it to be cleaned, it is a $40+ extra for each clean. I'd rather pay for a proper hotel.

Great room!

The hotel is located in the heart of Porto and makes many of the must-see attractions easy to get to. The hotel itself has no in-house staff and this was a first for us. You get into the hotel and your room with a code given to you on the app. The \"concierge\" is available via WhatsApp and they were quick to answer questions.

We ended a 3 week European trip through 3 countries and 8 places, and at this superb place in Porto was in our top 2 only equaled by a highly starred hotel spa in Tuscany. We would certainly stay at these tastefully done and attentively staffed apartments again when in Porto. Highly recommended to all travelers.

The apartment was lovely. We had room 14 and with windows closed it was perfectly quiet despite a busy night scene. Lots of restaurants in easy walking distance. Great location for sight-seeing. Breakfast is vegan which we did not realize ahead of time. The pancakes were yummy but limited options. Staff very nice.

The property and rooms are beautiful, location is perfect and we would absolutely return. However, the communication isn't great. We had to chase an email prior to arriving and we arrived early for our check in and couldn't get into our room, understandable. However, we had booked the apartment with a steam room but this was changed and we didn't find out until we returned that evening when reception isn't available. We were only there for 1 night and haven't yet been able to get an answer as to why this happened and why it wasn't communicated to us. If have to get to the airport for a morning flight, breakfast doesn't start until 7:30 a.m.

Our suite was unique and had all the amenities we expected- kitchenette was a good size. TV was not great but our fault for not asking to have it fixed- too much else to do! reception staff very helpful ( only there 8-4). we did not take the breakfast option but continental/vegan was available.

This was a great property in a good location. Our apartment was large and comfortable. Great bed, kitchen and bathroom. The TV has Netflix which is a good way to relax after a busy day of exploring. Rooms are only cleaned every 3 days. It would be better if towels and bins were changed every 2 days. The breakfast was vegan, which was not advertised when booking. There were no signs on any of the food to know what we were eating. There was tofu instead of eggs, for example. For people with intolerances or allergies, signs are needed clearly indicating what the food items at breakfast are. Breakfast was fine. For hot food, they can make toast with avocado, mushrooms and tofu or pancakes. These were good dishes. Staff were pleasant and neighbourhood was very quiet. Great for a good night’s sleep. We would recommend and would stay again.

Great place to stay for a few days

A very nicely styled boutique hotel, with plenty of open stonework which is quite typical of the area. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well appointed, with a small kitchen if you wish to use it. The staff were very friendly and helpful - they can tell you places to visit in Porto. The breakfast was lovely, and plenty of it. The hotel location is great, in the north part of the old town.

The receptionist there were super friendly and insightful, giving us great tips for the city ( Thank you! ) . The walk into town was only a few minutes. We were obsessed with this place! The rooms were huge and so beautiful. The front desk staff were so amazing and helpful. They gave us recommendations for places to visit and places to eat and helped us figure out transportation. We even got to use the pool at the sister property! Laranjais was central to a lot of walkable tourist destinations in Porto. We were so happy with our stay!!

We had a wonderful stay at Laranjais but a word of caution for those choosing to stay here. If you don’t want to include the daily breakfast that costs approximately 15 euros per person, ensure this choice at time of booking. I did not choose the daily breakfast, but after we checked out and left the property, we received an additional invoice for daily breakfasts totalling 108 euros. We have been told by hotel management that there is no refund and we have to take it up with Expedia.
