This is definitely a hostel for community & making friends-they have tons of events & really promote that. Beds were comfortable, had curtains, and your locker/room was locked by a bracelet you got at check-in making it very convenient. Location is awesome-you are close to tons of bars/restaurants/Porto attractions, and getting to the river is a 10-15 minute walk downhill. If you want a quiet hostel, this probably is not the place for you with the guests it attracts and also being in a train station. Overall I had an excellent time & would stay there again!

Red Flag — Great Stay, But Major Safety Concerns

I genuinely enjoyed my stay overall — the atmosphere was great, the location convenient, and the staff generally friendly. However, safety is a serious concern that future guests should be aware of.

Unfortunately, my bag was stolen from the reception area, where guests are encouraged to leave their luggage for temporary storage. I trusted this service, only to find that my belongings had disappeared — with no clear explanation.

To make matters worse, I was told the security cameras weren’t functioning properly, so there’s no footage of the incident. When I asked for further investigation, the response was dismissive at best. I was told, “Sorry, this never happened before,” which didn’t help recover my belongings or restore trust.

Too many unanswered questions and a lack of accountability turned what could have been a great experience into a stressful and disappointing one.

Bottom line: If you choose to stay here, do NOT leave your luggage at reception — and keep your valuables with you at all times.

Nice, convenient location in the city centre. Some nice activities run by the staff. The hostel does have people popping in and and out at odd hours. The cleaning ladies do a fabulous job and are very helpful. Breakfast is average and depends on on who has woken up after last nights pub crawl to get things ready for the guests, accordingly some items may or may not be there. No food or drinks allowed in the dorm but that doesn't stop people from opening a bottle of wine and drinking it openly or turning the lights on at mid night or talking loudly. While some are more respectful of others privacy, the others may be not. Beware that there could be some guests lurking around just to make friends for a free drink and more. But as I said all in all it is convenient and that's important.

Such a wonderful surprise once we got off the train to find that the hostel was directly in the station! Everyone was wonderful and the building was beautiful! Really enjoyed all of the events the staff offered like the walk to the park for sunset!!! and the evening dinner, so much hospitality!

The staff is the best part, they are all extremely kind and helpful. The kitchen area on the top floor for breakfast was collegial. There's an elevator, laundry room and very clean bathrooms. It was a novelty to stay here, in a private room. But the city is digging a new subway line directly in front of the hostel, so the windows face into a noisy construction zone. The room has blackout drapes but ... there's a window at loft bed-level, above the door, where every time someone walks down the hallway and triggers the motion sensor light, your room lights up.

This is such a marvelous hostel! The ever patient and friendlystaff, the relaxed and easy atmosphere. I chose this hostel for the location inside the historic train station and opportunity to meet other travelers. The hostel hosts daily events and activities for guests. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were very modern. The bed was comfortable. Rooms felt secure. It is also close to popular attractions and public transit. I would stay here again.

The only criticism I have is that the showers didn’t have a ‘dry bit’ to keep towels and clothes etc while showering, I had to leave outside. Was a bit difficult to find but I think that’s just because of the roadworks.

I had a great time staying there. The hostel is located in a very great area close to the cathedral, the Dom Luis Bridge and inside of the beautiful São Bento Train Station. All guys and girls who work there are very friendly and nice. They do different activities evry night very funny and entertaining. I would stay there next time I’ll go back to Porto

This property is clean and in a great location, right in the train station it was so cool!! As far as hostels go, it wasn’t very social, the staff working there didn’t seem to engage as much as other hostel staff and the breakfast was terrible, just bread and ham! I prefer hostels that cook a hot breakfast and it’s a great social time but this hostel the breakfast wasn’t worth staying for, the hostel itself though was clean and awesome!

The Passenger Hostel is located inside the São Bento Train Station, a historic site in itself. The place is amazing and breakfast was included. The staff is super personable providing fun activities including tours. Absolutely incredible!

Sadly the doors of the hostel make alot of noise when people close then at 645am you have the street cleaners with leaf blowers and machines. Then at 7 you have staff coming into office talking so you give up trying to sleep. The hostel was clean and location great but after no sleep I decided to leave.

I stayed 4 nights in mid Oct. It was quite cold in Porto, less than 10C at night. But there is NO hot shower water. I told one of the staff at the first night after shower, but she was not taking it seriously. They got more complaint at the second night, then finally called someone to fix it.
Besides the shower problem, the location is great. Just inside the train station and at the Center of Porto. And some staff were really nice, especially the gentleman at the front desk, who help to check and fix the shower problem nthusiastically

Big, bright super clean rooms. Very clean showers and bathrooms. Bed had a tiny fan in it! You don’t hear any noise from the station in the rooms. Platforms for trains are literally just steps from the lobby. Great system, your key is a magnetic bracelet that lets you access your floor, room and personal locker. Even access for late night returns. Really liked it instead of worrying if I still had keys.

The hostel is inside the Porto train station; though you could not hear the trains in the rooms.
Security was excellent with wrist bands provided for doors.

Not much sleep, but beautiful room.

Noise from the people on the street from early evening to 6 am each and every night of our 3 night stay, but surprisingly no noise from the trains. Even ear plugs did not help. The sounds seem to be coming from a very nearby club (bass and people noise).

There was no air conditioning which made it very stuffy at night, and because it was so loud at night, we could not open the windows.

The hostel staff was amazingly helpful and the hostel itself was gorgeous. The location could not be beat, being next to the Sao Bento train and metro station.

We had an individual room. The room itself was amazing. It was large and beautiful. The kitchen, shower and toilet rooms overlooked the train station and it was cool to see the people come and go. There is an entire floor for the individual rooms with the kitchen, shower and toilet rooms separate from the dorm rooms. This was nice because these rooms were hardly used and sometimes we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Auberge très bien située, permet de tout faire à pieds à partir de la gare de São Bento qui est lui-même un lieu magnifique. Dortoir confortable et très bien aménagé, c'est agréable d'avoir des rideaux pour chaque lit pour avoir un peu d'intimité. Ménage nickel et le personnel à l'accueil est toujours prêt à répondre à nos questions.

O hostel é sensacional, super bem localizado dentro da estação São Bento de Comboios, as camas são amplas e os banheiros limpos com frequência e tudo super bem novo e organizado. Há uma cozinha completa para uso coletivo e onde servem o café da manhã, público muito variado frequenta o lugar. Vale super a pena para uma estadia animada e bem localizada na cidade do Porto. As Senhoras que cuidam da limpeza fazem um ótimo serviço. No quesito conforto, volto dizer que falta um pouco mais d orientação aos hospedes quanto a barulhos e forma de uso dos espaços, muitos falam alto, conversam em horário inapropriado, batem as portas, falam ao celular dentro do quarto incomodando o sono dos outros. Oferecem armário com pulseira de acesso, Não oferecem toalhas (leve a sua). Mas eu voltaria de boa e me hospedar nesse lugar!

Hay que ser alpinista para subir a la tercer cama. Baños poco aseados. El secador de pelo no funciona correctamente. Las duchas debes tener con una mano apretando la llave del agua. Totalmente gastada la válvula. 0 mantenimiento.

J'ai adoré l'auberge de jeunesse The Passenger! Malgré un peu de difficulté pour la trouver à cause des travaux dans toute la rue, j'ai finalement réussi à la localiser et c'est très étonnant car c'est tout accolé à la gare. On peut d'ailleurs rentrer dans la gare et la traverser pour trouver une entrée dans l'auberge ! Je trouve que c'est vraiment un emplacement original et pratique si l'on veut prendre le train simplement. J'ai trouvé l'accueil et les différents étages très soignés avec un style de décoration très moderne et propre. J'apprécie grandement qu'il y ait des dortoirs féminins et masculins afin de pouvoir choisir cette option si l'on souhaite, les salles de bains sont également séparés si l'on préfère et ça change tout selon moi. Le petit déjeuner inclus dans la cuisine au dernier étage est super et la pièce très conviviale. J'ai aussi profité de tour avec un guide local absolument intéressant ! La seule remarque que je pourrais faire est le fait que dans les dortoirs il y ait 3 étages de lits superposés, donc lorsque l'on se retrouve tout en haut ça peut être impressionnant et un peu dangereux pour celles où ceux qui bougent la nuit. Je crois que ça vaudrait le coup de le préciser lors de la réservation car ça n'est pas anodin !

立地は最高です。サンベント駅直結、地下鉄、バス停も近く観光地にも歩いていけるのでとても便利。朝食もついていて、焼きたてのハンドメイドケーキが好きでした。スタッフはみなさん優しい。キッチンやランドリーがあるのも助かりました。

ただ利用時にホステル前で大規模工事が行われており朝から中々の騒音。さらに部屋にエアコンがなく、暑いから夜間窓を開けっぱなしするという同室宿泊者の意見で、観光客や交通量の多い場所柄、耳栓しても無意味なくらい騒音がひどく、数日間眠れなかったのは辛かった。（窓を閉めればマシになる）
時期やタイミングで快適性にだいぶ差が出そうです。

Very beautiful hostel with very nice staff! We had a room with a double bed and a single bed, both a bit hard but ok. A lot of condensation on the windows all the time and a weird smell after two days even tho we tried to have the windows open from time to time. Bit noicy, but as expected for the area. I do not recommend for light sleepers. Breakfast was very nice and there is a bar in the reception.

O hostel é incrível e fica dentro da estação São Bento (maravilhosooooo). Desde a recepção, com funcionários extremamente amigáveis e solícitos, o hostel é um dos melhores de toda europa. Possui elevador, os quartos são bonitos, confortáveis. Há banheiro separado para os quartos de casal. Limpeza impecável, localização sensacional. O café da manhã é simples e muito gostoso. Perfect VERY central location, really easy to reach from the airport (OPO) and so convenient for all the visits you want to do in the city!! In the nice & large premises, comfortable & clean rooms with lockers inside the room. There were 7 girls in the dorm I was in and I was surprised (in a good way) that everyone was quite respectful of the sleep of others (expected people to be noisier!), while quite young customers. Big showers room & separated big restrooms room, both very clean also. Helpful staff :) A really good price for what you get!!

역시 후기대로, 깨끗하고 친절하고
공용공간 넓고요. 천장이 높아서 넓직하니 좋습니다. 락커 크고, 헤어드라이어도 구비되어 있어 편리했습니다. 3층 침대는 무서울 것 같긴한데 미리 얘기하면 원하는 층으로 배정해 줄겁니다.
저녁마다 이벤트도 많은 거 같은데 1박만 하느라 참여는 못 해봤지만 재밌을 것 같아요.

Satisfied with cleanness, friendly staffs and large common areas. The building is also elegant and I loved it during stay.
