Not only the OCA Flores hotel was perfectly located on a pedestrian street (cabs are allowed to drive on these street to drop you off) in the middle of Porto, but the staff was wonderful. They offered tons of valuable advices such as things to do (one of our favorite was to walk all the way to the beach town and take the old cable car back), transportation options (the Sao Bento train station is a 10 minutes walk and allows you to reach the main train station), and dinner options. This hotel was the perfect find. It also had a rooftop garden which i assume would be great for a drink in warmer months. The room we had was great (facing the back so no view but very quiet). The only Con i see was the tub in the bathroom. It was very high and slippery which i can see being an issue for older people.

As a family of 4 we stayed in a suite and it was so convenient and spacious. The front desk was super helpful about providing advice, directions, reservations. The location is fantastic — you can walk everywhere easily and the pedestrian street where the hotel is located is a blast and an attraction in and of itself. Be aware that taxis/cars can not drive up to the property directly so you’ll need to walk a block or 2 with your baggage to reach the front desk.

Fuimos en familia en verano. Menos mal viajábamos con carry on los 4 en la familia. El taxi no pudo acceder a la calle directamente donde estaba el hotel. Colapsado. El personal súper amable, incluso nos ofrecieron un upgrade a una Villa que no encantó. El lugar es precioso. Sin embargo, nos decepcionó el baño. Baldosas rotas y tope desgastado. Suelo fijarme mucho en el baño de los sitios donde nos alojamos. Que sea limpio y se sienta limpio. En este caso, creo que no estaba acorde con el resto. Por lo demás , súper bien ubicado para conocer y caminar. En nuestra Villa no había ruidos que molestaran. Dormimos súper bien. Fue un descanso en medio del caos veraniego de esta hermosa ciudad.

The property itself was great, location is close to transport, shops and tourist spots. The room lighting switch system is a bit confusing but works fine. The main let down was the welcome from the check-in staff. They seemed very defensive and were whispering to each other when checking in our family’s details. There was a child missing from our booking but I was happy to pay this, perhaps this made them defensive. However, unfortunately the poor service continued and we only found one member of the four staff were helpful during the stay.

Our room was great! Very spacious with lots of windows to open. We loved hearing the street musicians play. It had a very comfortable bed and was very clean. The bathroom was small but in very good condition. There was a kitchenette but it was not equipped with soap or towels until the last day.

We had the breakfast all 5 days of our stay. The food offered never changed but it was good.

In the midst of a highly trafficked tourist pedestrian esplanade, the hotel was an oasis. Lovely and well appointed rooms. Our suite had a kitchen. The outdoor garden area was a lovely respite from the urban fun right outside the hotel front door. Even a bathing fountain where one can plunge and cool off, preceded and followed by a shower and service from the garden bar. Views of the Se (cathedral) and Clerigos church tower. Sao Bento station (and its tiled grand hall) and many dining options just steps away. Two minute walk to car park (with hotel discount).

Great location. I don’t recommend driving in Porto. Breakfast was excellent. The outdoor space was nice for escaping the crowds. Our room had a musty odor we requested a change in rooms but the hotel was unable to accommodate due to being fully booked for the weekend.

This property has been closed for many months yet it still appears as an available property on the Expedia website and continues to accept reservations so that travelers show up thinking they have a reservation only to find it has been shut down. This borders on the criminal and needs to be corrected immediately and appologies sent to those affected.

Hidden Gem in Porto

Flores Boutique was fantastic. I was upgraded to their best apartment and it was fabulous. Really spacious, very modern and it was so cozy. The garden which is on the grounds is very pretty and there are amazing views of well known landmarks in the city. It is very central yet it is a hidden oasis at the same time. I would love to go back.

Very nice hotel and location. The duplex room had a great view. The bathroom was a bit outdated and would need some refurbishment. Breakfast was nice. Only negative side is the so called SPA, it was such a mess, towels all over the place, dirty and very small. No space to sit down and relax. If you look for a nice spa to enjoy your stay in Porto this is not for you. Pity as everything else was pretty good

All the staff was wonderful. Our flight was constantly delayed and Patricia at the reception continuously communicated with us and arranged our pick up from the airport. Mario also did his best to accommodate us when arrived.
The hotel is very well situated.
The downside is the lack of storage space for clothes in the room. There was one small cupboard with a tiny hanging space and no drawers.

Very nice location right in downtown but beware of ants. We woke up one morning and a wall in the bedroom was covered in ants and they had gotten into our suitcases ruining all specialty food we had purchased. Hotel promptly cleaned up everything but definitely an indication that additional cleaning is needed as the ants came from inside the wall through a socket.

The hotel was excellent the only comment I have is I like a double bed to my self even in a twin room. Whilst common in the USA not so much in Europe. The only thing stopping me using this hotel again would be finding a twin bedded room with double's not singles. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful with great service and some small quirks

The hotel is beautiful, especially the gardens and the breakfast room. The spa is wonderful. The staff is the most welcoming staff I've ever encountered.

I don't give full support because the newer rooms (which are fairly less expensive) just aren't as nice as the main building rooms. We had a little issue with some A/C and instantly got a new room and a roll away. But after seeing into some of the other rooms, we wished we paid a bit more and were in the main building - those rooms were MUCH nicer. BUT, if you've got kids with you or have dietary concerns, the back rooms are a good choice since they have kitchens (we think it was a building of studio apartments that they bought and are still integrating into the larger \"village\").

We got massages and both agreed that the therapist was great.

They provide discounts for the spa and the tapas restaurant on site, and there's breakfast included. I'd stay here agian - but in the main building.

This property wins in terms of location and view, it is truly exceptional to be able to view the Sé. The staff are helpful and friendly.

There are a few areas I'd raise however
1) when we were there, there were a few hours of no water to our accommodation which was a bit of a nightmare with 2 small children. The staff were helpful to point out that we could use the spa facilities to wash if needs be. This was a very practical solution and graciously received however when something like this happens and the cost of the accommodation is so high (plus such a high reputation), you would expect some token of apology for the inconvenience which was not forthcoming.
2) The grounds are beautiful however my husband had the misfortune to stand in some dog mess on the grass which was rather unpleasant. This is, I guess, the risk you take if staying in a hotel which allows pets, so make of that what you will and watch where you walk!
3) The bathrooms in the middle property are in need of refurbishment, cracked tiles and mouldy build up is something simple enough to fix and lets down a higher end property.

We enjoyed our stay don't get me wrong, however there are some areas which could do with some attention to maintain the high scores.

We were very disappointed that the tour Portugal bicycle race was on the day we traveled there, we feel the hotel should have given us prior notice of this. We spent 4 hours circling Gaia and Porto trying to reach the hotel. Also this property has water damage and mould in our bathroom celing. Air conditioning was also poor in this hotel. The hotel is older and the common areas are well maintained. Unfortunately the rooms are although clean are old. After the first night, we woke up to our bathroom infestated with ants. Initially they just had the housekeeper come to clean. My husband asked to change rooms. The fron desk called the housekeeper to let jer know. She believed I didn't understand Portuguese and began cursing. As they changed our room, it wasn't worth complaining about the lack of professionalism from the staff. Furthermore, the walls are thin and at times it felt as though we had indos open with how clearly you could hear the people outside. Overall the stay ws fine but we would not recommend staying here.

This was the PERFECT place to stay in Porto. It's right in the middle of town and was easy to get to places. The hotel is beautiful and very spacious, spread across a few different floors. Our room was great, with a beautiful view of the Cathedral and the city and our balcony was the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine. The breakfast was good and the staff was really friendly. I would highly recommend a stay here

This is one of the most overrated, overpriced and disappointing hotels I ever stayed in during my travels around the world. The room was connected to another room with a door and you could even hear neighbors coughing! Noisy street. There was a tiny kind of cabinet which acted as a 'wardrobe'. Tiny bathroom with water constantly spilling beyond the shower stand. When I requested the front desk staff to talk to the manager, apparently he was going to contact me the next day. Of course he didn't. When by chance I saw him the following afternoon he was most offended that I had already contacted Expedia with my first impressions. Yes, to his credit he offered another room but also with an adjacent door to another room! Things like that should not be allowed. This is an insult to travelers. Avoid this place at all costs!

The front desk was excellent- helpful and kind. The apartment was very awkward and there was gum stuck to the shower. We left it there for our 3 night stay to see if it would ever be removed and it wasn’t. We loved the Roman bath, the lovely breakfast and the location was perfect. Fantastic advice from the receptionist,David, about what to see and where to go in Porto that meant we had an amazing time In the city.

Over all... quality/value for money could be improved. Superior Villa (w/kitchen) felt outdated, stark & basic. Comfy bed, clean, but not a luxurious living space. The hotel is several buildings forming a (safe) compound. The main building is really beautiful/historic, so maybe those rooms are nicer? Super location for tourists; shops, restos, sightseeing, bike rental, Douro, trolleys and easy to get an Uber around the corner. (€17 to/from airport) Staff were all helpful & friendly, \"Welcome\" port tasting, hotel & grounds are nicely kept and the cleaning staff had our room immaculate each day. Spa area was just okay; nice sauna/steam rooms, small gym, towels, treatments were \"50% off guest pricing\" & the therapists were fine, but nothing was amazing. Bathroom/changing room is purely functional (not comfortable), toiletries are not high-end, no hair conditioner (not in room either), no other amenities offered like at most nice spas. Underground \"pool\" has jets, but the water isn't warm enough to be relaxing. So, is it a Jacuzzi or a pool? Very poorly designed to be a pool; small, choppy layout, full of sharp corners. I have multiple bruises on my legs from simply trying to get to a spa jet. (not enjoyable!) Indoor/outdoor tapas bar needs better ambiance; brightly lit, uncomfortable seating, blasé staff. Having experienced hotel breakfast buffets across the globe, this one was very mediocre. (quality-wise, selection) The fresh-cut fruit, cake and coffee were good!

Friends and Family Fun in Porto

The staff was always helpful and gave us wonderful recommendations that shaped a great experience of the city! The 1 bedroom suite was perfect for our family especially the kitchen. The hotel location is very central for exploring the city.

In the heart of Porto

Firstly when we arrived, reception folks told us so many spots to visit, good adress where to eat, place to visit, basically they have made us our trip. Each place/restaurants recommended was exactly as they were saying, and for that I give them 5 stars.

Also this hotel is located in the heart of Porto, meaning that you near everything, Ribeiras(Porto caves), shopping aera (via Santa Catarina), place to visits (Torre dos Clerigos, library Lello etc...), place to party...so for the location, I will definitely recommend it

Finally, hotel by itself, is very charming, with this indoor garden, and this amazing terasse view on top

We will definitely return there, in the meantime, enjoy your stay there.

Room is ugly. It’s not what’s on web site. I had bug bites when I left. Saving grace is the great staff, 50 percent off for massages and location. I won’t stay there again though. I felt cheated as the room they gave us was not nice, old and not well maintained.
