The staff was friendly but when my friends had trouble with their AC (it did not work .. and it was 35 degrees C outside!) the hoyel staff did nothing. They had to spend two nights in a hot room

Truest an amazing experience. The hotel is located right in the middle of wonderful restaurants and entertainment, but is quiet and peaceful inside the staff was incredible and gave us wonderful recommendations while in Porto. The interior of the building was equally wonderful. The architecture and design particularly.

This property is highly overrated and not luxurious at all, even though the name suggests so. They offer complementary tea bags in the room. When I asked them for milk and sugar to drink with the tea, their staff asked me to pay 2 euros for milk. Their management does not know that half the world drinks tea with milk and sugar, even though they are in hospitality business. We paid 300+ Euros for a room that was so small that you can hardly stand in it. The bed frame is oversized and takes 90% of the space in the room. Never again would I choose a place like this to stay in Porto!

The property is amazing in its design of the room and common areas,, which espouses amazing old walls with modern materials. Unique! One of the three most beautiful hotels I have ever visited, but the service does not meet the same standard as the design. Part of the shower did not work for 2 days, they are stingy with toilet paper (you should bring your own!), the apartment was 55 steps up the stairs, etc. etc etc.

Beautiful design, not always what you need. The room is quite small and dark, so applying make up or shaving, nearly impossible. No tissues and hangers only for coats/blouses. My husband had a birthday and although we don’t except any extras, this was the very first hotel that not mentioned it at all, yet saying how much the personal touch is important to them. First day we had to leave early for a tour, we were told by day employee that it was not possible to arrange something earlier then 8 when breakfast officially starts. The evening shift made it possible. Where is the problem? On the other hand, perfect, quiet location and breakfast .

We absolutely loved our stay at Armazem in Porto! The property was stunning and unique. And the location really can’t be beat. Really in the thick of it all but only the best parts. Great place if you plan to walk to many areas in Porto. The cherry on top was the service. Everyone was so polite and generous with their time. We will absolutely be recommending this hotel to friends and family.

We paid over 280EUR per night hoping to get a quality service during our honeymoon and it was the worst mistake in our entire trip.
This is one of those hotels that charges a lot because it has an excellent location. But location isn’t everything.
When we arrived, they said we made a reservation on expedia using AMEX and they didn’t accept it, so I needed to get cash of a visa credit card. I guess not accepting AMEX is ok, but they could have either mention this in the expedia page or written a message to us in advance to let us know. Gladly, my wife had a corporate VISA (now she will have to explain her boss, but I guess its not the end of the world). In general, the woman was super rude because we arrived one our earlier. All I asked for was a restroom to wash my face and a charger in some public area. She wasn’t pleased.
The room isn’t what it looks like in the pictures. Pictures are misleading. The light in the room is poor, you can’t easily raise the curtains, and there is a lot of noise (even in the third floor).
Something shocking: when you pay almost 300 EUR per night, it is at least customary in the hotel industry to leave a free bottle of water per night. They don’t. What is worse, there is a Nespresso coffee machine in the room, and they only give you the first one for free and charge for the rest.
The neighborhood and breakfast are fine, but for this price, and in light of the service, I recommend something else.

Location is great for this unique and charming hotel. Based on past reviews, I agree that this hotel is located in a centralized location where you are close to all the restaurants, shopping, port wine cellars (across the river) and walking distances to many landmarks.
The staff at Armazem were excellent. Very helpful and supportive. They helped arrange several requests during our stay (car rental, walking tours, laundry service, taxi arrangements) without hesitation as well as make some great recommendations on what to visit. The whole staff was great, especially Sofia, who made sure we were comfortable during our stay.

The Armizem provided us with an excellent stay. Sophia and the entire staff were extremely helpful and friendly, including helping us plan an itinerary and make restaurant/activity reservations for our limited time in beautiful Porto. The location couldn’t have been better, in the middle of town within walking distance of everywhere you’d want to visit. The breakfast was delicious, carefully curated, and beautifully presented. Every little detail at Armazem, from the architecture, to the scents, to the decor, to breakfast was perfection. I literally cant speak more highly of a hotel. The owner and her daughter were the sweetest and so helpful with info, reservations etc. PLUS the location is ideal for walking around and having everything at your fingertips. Do yourself a favor and stay here if in Porto. You'll thank me later : )

This hotel is located in a perfect location in Porto. You walk out into a pedestrian plaza full of stores and cafes and just a 5 minute walk to the river and main tourist attractions. What makes this hotel really stand out is their attention to detail and great customer service. They are at the level of any 5 star luxury hotel in this regard. It was the first night the hotel was open. The architecture is very cool, a mixture of the old iron warehouse it used to be and the brand new super modern. The staff was super attentive. The breakfast was fantastic. Two issues: hot water wasn't hot and the computer wouldn't take credit cards at checkout. We would go back in a minute because of everything and the location.
