Felt completely neglected. Staff were dismissive, rude, and kept bouncing me back to Expedia instead of helping. The room was listed as “sleeps 3,” yet only had one double bed. When I raised the issue, the front desk ignored my concerns, doubled down on me and said they couldn’t do anything, and reach back out to expedia and left me feeling helpless. I ended up sleeping on the floor so my wife and 5-year-old could use the bed. I am requesting immediate action regarding a highly misleading listing and a deeply upsetting hotel experience connected to my recent stay

Great location. Room was clean and large. The only thing off putting was the smell in the entrance to the building. Also, the front door of the building was supposed to be only accessible by using a lock code but we were able to open the door just by pushing it. Property should fix this security loop hole.

Very clean, great location and our suite had a small view of the Duoro River. Although advertised as soundproof rooms, you can still hear guests when they are in the hallway by the elevator. We still enjoyed our stay!

Nice comfortable apartment. Black out blinds and sound proofing was effective. Could get a little noisy with the occasional motor bike coming through the tunnel. Staff were great and just 2 mins walk from the river. Beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay the the Arc Carris apartments. If you are looking to be in downtown Porto close to grocery, restaurants, shopping, etc you cannot beat this property.
The property management was also excellent to deal with us. When our flight was delayed on our check out day they allowed us to check out late and stored our bags for very cheap so we could enjoy the day in Porto.
Our one recommendation would be to fix the hot water situation. The temperature of water that came out of the shower was erratic, constantly changing on its own.

Everything worked out perfectly. Since we had read the reviews we knew about the check in process. Our concerns were rapidly addressed and we had a nice and smooth stay. Despite the location of the apartments in such a busy area of Porto, the windows were soundproof and we slept well. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very helpful.

I highly recommend staying at the Apartamentos The Arc Carris when you are in Porto. Beautiful modern room, kitchen and bathroom. A large deck with table and chairs overlooks the street. One block away from the river. A unique feature is the entrance. It takes you through a large one way window. Very Alice in Wonderland like. I was staying there alone and felt incredibly safe.

We booked a breakfast option at an extra cost and I would not recommend that - better to find a breakfast elsewhere.

We had a good stay overall, but want people to go in the trx with their eyes open... It's in a very busy and popular area so there's good and bad with that. Good is everything a tourist wants to see is within walking distance. But then there are always loads of people hanging out at the street-level door to the property, including a pan handler who will tell you every day it's his birthday. He's also working with the convenient store clerks next door and the female pan handler across the road, so be aware of all that. Other than that, once you get inside, the property is modern, spacious, nicely decorated, but with a few minor maintenance issues like shower drain is slow, and bathroom sink leaks so everything you place under it will get wet... But I also didn't pay that much so overall solid.

This property is located right in the heart of the waterfront tourist area, close to dining options and plenty of beautiful sights. There is also a small grocery next door. The apartment itself has a beautiful view from the small balcony, but you have to go out onto the balcony to see it. I loved the way the doors opened to the outside to enjoy the fresh air. Our only complaint was that the bed pillows were ridiculously thin. Everything else was wonderful! Can be a bit noisy due to location, but we would stay here again.

The Apartments were great for our one week stay. Having the extra space compared to a hotel room was greatly appreciated. The apartments were clean and well maintained. The location is perfect since you’re less than a 5 minute walk to the Duoro River, Don Luis Bridge and many restaurants.
The only small confusion was where to check-in and access the apartment on the first day since you have to check- in at the main hotel and then cross the street to get to the apartments.

Perfect location, 1 minute to the river and 10 minute walk to the old city centre. The room was spacious and clean. The check in was good, but just note that you need to go to the main hotel across the road, and get a code to open the apartments. Slightly hard to find, but once we got there it was smooth!

First the positive: location, location, location. You're in the heart of it. But it also means lots of traffic, cars honking late into the night, as in past midnight. Great for a younger crowd, not ideal for a family with young kids or seniors. The room was a bit dated, bathroom ok but there's really no counter space to put your stuff down. Also if you stay in the apartment be aware that you don't get a key, rather a key code to punch in. Can be tricky late at night, since you have to be mindful of your surroundings as you're basically standing on the street when trying to enter. Hotel staff was great.

Location of the property was excellent & the room was nicely presented, however, it was let down by lack of maintenance. The studio itself wasn’t cleaned properly, the kitchen area was covered in dust and there were stains around the bed.
The bathroom, whilst nicely presented, smelt of damp & the shower was a nightmare to use. To get a constant temperature, you had to have it on a an extremely powerful pressure which wasn’t comfortable to use, any less and the shower would constantly go from scolding to freezing.

The staff is not helping well. I request to use Euros with my credit card. With her instructions, we ended up paying US dollar with extra 4 %. First night, the water heater is not working. Ended up my husband took a cold water shower. I did try to call reception for help but the phone was not working. The second night, one of the room has no electricity at all, we have to go down to the reception to ask for help. It took a long time to persuade the staffs to come up to fix the issue if we don’t insist.

The building is lovely. We were shocked to find the property had not been cleaned. There were sexual toys left behind from the previous occupancy. When reported this to the manager, he blamed the third-party cleaning company. Unbelievable!

We enjoyed our stay in the 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment. The check in at the hotel was conveniently located just a few steps away from the apartment building. The breakfast option was lovely. The Arc apartment should NOT be rated a 4-star, I’d say it should be closer to a 2-star accommodation. Firstly the strong bleach smell in the main entrance and the apartment is a major turn off. And the bathroom (in the apartment) reminds me of a dirty public bathroom. I had to keep my shoes on at all time since the bathroom floor seemed dirty. And, what is up with the yucky red carpet in the bedroom? Very unattractive and dirty. I have to say, I did not enjoy staying here at all and would not recommend. The only good thing about the Arc was the free breakfast. The breakfast was ok.

This place is great! So nice to have space for everyone to sleep and spread out. You could not get a better location - walk out the door and you are in the heart of the action. Check in at hotel across the road was easy. Recommend the massage at WeDo Massage in the hotel - 100 Euro for 1 hour body and 1 hour foot massage. We had Penthouse Panoramic 2 Bedroom and Wi-Fi didn’t work for us either but we were on holiday so just used hotspots. Only recommendation is to put additional TVs in by the beds. Great stay!

The rest was not great… They told me in the reservation confirmation you HAVE to contact them 72 hours in advance, and then did not respond to 6 emails over 5 days (still haven’t 2 weeks later). Definitely make you feel second class compared to the main hotel, unfriendly staff.

Great location. It was managed by Caris Hotel across the street. Check in instruction said to reach out before check in but was unnecessary. Front office was very nice and helpful. We had the corner apartment and it was great to have views of the street on two sides. It was weird though that power in that unit goes off at 7am. On our first day we had to call from our cellphone because the unit phone was not in order with the power out, front office offered to send a maintenance person, but my husband managed to flip the breaker switch which turned the light back on. Happened every day we were there. Not big of a deal. since we figured it out but it was weird. Other than that, the unit was really nice and clean, has most that you need but w/d. It was like a hotel suite with no pre-checkout chores like all other VRBOs!

Rented one of the studios. The apt. was great. Liked the space. It is managed by the hotel across the street. Therefore, it is treated like a hotel. You don’t get many of the perks that you do when it’s rented by the owner. For example, You get daily housekeeping but no salt and pepper. Not a big deal.
There are about five grocery stores within a couple of blocks. We went to Taberno das Mercadores and Jimao Tapas e Vinhos for dinner. They are about a block away and we’re both excellent. They are very small so make reservations. The cost was less than several of the “tourist” restaurants by the water and the food was much better.
We did the yellow bus tour with the six bridges tour and Calem wine tour on one ticket. It was $30 euros and a pretty decent deal, although touristy.
We didn’t really use public transportation. We used Uber a couple of times. We walked most places.

We arrived at the property at around 10:00 am and our apartment was already ready. Check-in was easy and the staff kindly greeted us and one of them even walked us next door to the apartments. The apartments are nicely renovated, clean, spacious and had a very secure lock to the front door of the apartment. The shower was nice and hot. The beds were comfy and big. They provided towels. The cleaning staff tidy-up our apartments each night. The apartments are centrally located near the river. It is the perfect hotel to stay at if you want to drink on the river and then stumble back to your apartment. It was very easy to meet our tour guide and pick up Ubers at the location. Highly recommend staying here and will stay here when I return to Porto.
