The hotel is difficult to reach from a main road and one must walk up a very steep incline to reach the hotel which is poorly marked. No reception with difficulty in obtaining the entry codes. Then we were place at the very top room which had a very tight winding stairs without a handrail and was extremely difficult to lug a suitcase up. Next, my wife fell in the middle of the room because there is no safety markings for a step down in the center of the room. Overall, this accommodation was way overpriced for the facility it provided.

The location is amazing, there was a lot to see within walking distance. The room was modern and nicely decorated but there was a lack of shelving in the bathroom (turns out the mirror is a medicine cabinet) and also, there wasn’t really a place to put luggage; I would have preferred that the single chair was replaced with a luggage rack. I was not able to get the AC working when we checked in but Maria came to the room upon check out and it seemed to be working fine then. And the toilet seat was broken which seems to be a theme in Portugal. Overall, I would stay here again. Check in/out was easy and the staff were friendly. Welcome desserts and port wine were a nice surprise!

The property makes creative use of its small space in the historic area. We enjoyed our balcony view of the city from our studio. Fresh and new inside with a Roman wall in the back. Staff is wonderful and genuinely helpful. Breakfast is good too. But do not plan to drive or park there. The road is very narrow. We left our car at a nearby parking garage. Wonderful location in the walkable historic district near the river.

We had a very comfortable stay. The historical house is very well kept and our room was clean. It is well located near the Cathedral and within walking distance of the waterfront. Marta, the host and our staff contact there, was most helpful, patient, gracious, and welcoming. She contacted us ahead of time more than once and sent us clear directions to the house from the train station via local train. We had an unexpected medical situation arise while there and she both advised us and made several calls on our behalf. The care and attention the staff gives their guests is rare. Highly recommended!

Excellent central location in city centre approx 5 mins from nearest metro stop. Clean and modern. Our room was small but had everything we needed for our 3 night stay.
Welcome from Marta was above and beyond expectations. Not only did she introduce us to the guesthouse but supplied us with a drink of port and pastel da nata when we arrived ! she gave us an intro to the city highlights , supplied us with a map and even booked boat trip, tuk tuk ride and port cellar tour for us . She answered our questions during our stay in a friendly and efficient way. She is a great asset to her employer and the questhouse.
Overall we could not have wanted more from our stay at this guesthouse and would fully recommend it for a short city break to Porto.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! Maria is a wonderful host and was not only welcoming but also very helpful in making our trip to Porto so fantastic. The location was great and walking distance to everything including many nearby restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

Wonderful

A lovely place to stay in Porto. So convenient for the Cathedral and the river.
Marta could not have been more helpful; booking parking in advance, offering invaluable advice on restaurants, sightseeing, transport etc. She helped us with luggage (we had a lot, as we are on the road for a month) and with laundry too. She even went to the trouble of researching our onward travel on our behalf.I cannot recommend this place more highly.

personal attention, made me feel at home, modern though the bathroom is small (on fairness the room that I rented stated the bathroom was small). I really enjoyed the room, the staff, the location, everything was great. Just ensure you have the right map on how to reach the hotel prior to arrive (google maps dont help :) because do not show the irregularities of the terrain, nest way to get there is through the large avenue in front of the train station. Highly recommend the place if you are traveling light (as most boutique places, there is no lift).

Superb clean and quiet guesthouse in the centre!

Great location near the front and all major attractions. Beautiful, clean guest house with great views and terrace over rooftops on top floor penthouse. Facilities to cook in if required but great voice of restaurants and cafes locally. The metro station is also round the corner. Greeted with Portuguese tarts and port and given lots of information and greeted with a smile and warmth. If you don’t like hotels and want to stay somewhere authentic with all modern facilities this is for you. Breakfast included in a vegetarian restaurant across the road. No veggies but no problem for us 👍

Note that there is no lift and, given that the Ribeira district itself is extremely hilly, you should like, or at least tolerate, some additional exercise.

Geat little friendly hotel, in good location.

Great stay in a great location.
The room was super clean, and made up everyday.
There is no specific parking for the hotel, but there is a public car park within about 5 mins walk. You can also park on the street nearby for free between 1900 and 0900 Monday to Friday and 1600-1100 at weekends. You can also park up for free about 10/15 mins walk, which is particularly good if you want to leave the car for a days exploration around Porto.
We where provided with a map and shown to where certain locations and things are such as bars and restaurants.
Directly next door to the hotel is a real locals bar, with true characters. If you want to mix with genuine Portuguese characters then please give this bar a try.
Overall this is a great little hotel that I highly recommend.

House is close to many great sights and restaurants, with nice interior and friendly staff. They met us at check in and explained Porto's many nearby options. Daily cleaning is available and the flat is newly renovated. Be ready to climb stairs, as there's no interior elevator. (Much of Porto is hilly, so this is consistent with the neighborhood.)

This place is amazing. The house itself is quaint and lovely. The staff are just the nicest people ever. You get there and you're given a pastry, a port (for me also a glass of water) and lot of advice about places to go and what to see. The room is a good size and is clean and well-appointed. The only things to be aware of are that it isn't super easy to find (it's on one of Porto's wacky streets). Also - there are lots of stairs getting to some of the rooms. Didn't bother me a bit - but it is something to be aware of.

Really happy to have found this place. Great location, beautiful decor and very clean. Was scared it wouldn't be private enough because of the shared spaces but you never felt like you were just renting a room. If actually felt like a mini hotel.

Back from the Camino de Santiago!

We came in very tired and were greeted by a smiling face. Christina asked about our trip, offered us a pastry and some port wine (yum) and talked about Porto! She asked if we had any questions about the area, sites we wanted to see, and even booked reservations for dinner. She truly exceeded our expectations. The location is close to the train station and other points of interest, but the only negative was the loudness of the area (bar or restaurant next door)...at least they were happy! :) The room was a bit small and there was no elevator, but we knew this in advance. It was a wonderful local experience.

It was a really nice and central place with super friendly staff. We had the smallest room and it was still very comfortable. I should note that the AC doesn’t really work and the room isn’t totally soundproof, but it didn’t bother us that much. I highly recommend this place if you want to stay close to the center with a little more quiet.

The best place we stayed in Portugal. Easy to find and a central location. On arrival we were greeted by the very nice staff and got a brief on the place, maps, advice and some pastry. No issues with english. The room is very nice and modern. Extremely quiet and blackout curtains, so no outside light. It's away from the main Street so there is no road noise. The bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice with lots of hot water.
Breakfast was pastry, fruit, coffee and tea.
My only negative point would be that the room was small. I'm 5\"9 and average size, and had no issues, but larger people or the very tall might have an issue moving around. There is a place for luggage though so you're not tripping over it.
The price was also very reasonable. I would stay here again with out a second thought.

We needed a room close to the train station, so this was the ideal location.
The house was newly renovated in April of this year. Check in was a breeze and included a nice glass of port while completing the paper work.
As, the site tells you, there is no elevator. We stayed on the 3rd and this was not a problem for us because we travel lite.
Our room overlooked the side street with a small balcony. The bed was comfy and the room very clean. The bathroom was a bit of a challenge. The sink is very small and you cannot help but splash water. There are no shelves in the shower, so you have to reach out to get you toiletries and splash water. Not a game changer, but could use some improvements. We would stay here again.
