Arco Apartments is a true gem in Porto. The location is fantastic, right by the old city in a unique historic Arc and stairs. While the stairs can be a bit challenging, there’s a wonderful wine bar next door that makes for a perfect pause. The apartment itself is beautifully designed, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed in the kitchen. The cute patio was a lovely bonus. A perfect blend of charm, style, and convenience. Highly recommended.

Nice host lady. There are a lot of stairs and cannot drive all the way to the door of the place however, it is worth to walk with the suitcases to get the place lol. You will get to have the most beautiful sceneries in Porto!

Do not forget to bring your key with u all the time. 😂 I just came l out for view like 5mins right in front of the door but It is locked automatically!! Lol had to call my host to get a spare key. Thank god she was very nice. Lol

Arco Apartment Cantana was truly a hidden gem. This apartment had everything in the kitchen you could need especially wine glasses! Even a little outside patio to enjoy our Portuguese wine.Located behind the cathedral where most tours depart was ideal. Area very safe,walking distance to restaurants and across the Dom Luis bridge. Communication via WhatsApp quick and even sent a video of where to find Arco once at the cathedral. Met by Leonilde on time and answered questions and sent names of places we had asked about.
Definitely better than a sterile hotel chain annd much larger, so happy we found Arco Apratments.Highly recommend if steps are not an issue.

My sister and i stayed at the Arco apartments for 3 nights in September . The apartment was very unique, clean and well supplied. It was walking distance to everything we needed. Expect to walk hills and alot of stairs. Great place to stay!

MENTIRAS - One of the best views in Porto, two balconies (standing room) and four double doors letting in light. Lovely spacious and clean flat. Stylish interior and well equipped. Be prepared for the steps! Only 2 mins from the cathedral. Great air conditioning and servicing every other day.

A bit of a walk to get to so would not be ideal for travellers with mobility issues or large pieces of luggage. That being said the apartment is beautiful and in a nice area near the cathedral. Easiest access is to walk down from the cathedral. Good communication and check in! Immaculate apartment, comfy beds, beautiful view.

This is a beautiful apartment in a great location in the old town of Porto. It is walkable to everything, though through lots of stairs. Communication with the owner is essential, especially if you arrive by taxi - not all drivers know where to drop you off without having to climb a lot of stairs with your luggage. The taxi drivers that the owner recommends know where to drop you off and help with the luggage. We loved staying there and would do it again.

Overall the property was well located and clean. The hand off of keys when we arrived was a bit unorganized because there was an emergency with one of the admins, which is likely a one-off. But there was no communication leading up to the moment we arrived with the other two admin.

The location is great but it was below a bar, so there was a bit of noise (music and stomping) in the evenings. There are many stairs to get to the apartments, which on one hand gives a very authentic environment, but if you have heavy bags or many bags, this may not be the best stay for you.

Overall, it was fine and a nice unit, that was clean and it was located in a great area. They also give lots of recommendations of local spots which is nice.

Loved this apartment! Great location (although it is down lots of steps, so keep this in mind when carrying luggage)close to the Se Porto. We were doing the Portuguese Camino so we appreciated being so close to the starting point. Great communication from the manager who met us on the day with the key and information we needed. Comfy bed, great facilities. Would highly recommend!

Not for anyone who has mobility challenges.

Very convenient location, however, please note that the hotel can only be accessed via stone stairs from the main Porto Cathedral. Therefore, this would not be suitable for elderly or mobility-challenged people. There are also many flights of stairs to get down to the restaurant promenade beside the Douro River. As long as you are reasonably fit, the comfortable.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is spacious, clean, well equipped, has character/history and is in a great location near the cathedral (Se in Portuguese). Would definitely stay here again. Nilde and Gabriel were extremely helpful both before arrival and on arrival. Just be aware that you need to navigate some steps to get to the apartment - but it's worth it!

Amazing location for a long weekend

The location is excellent for sight seeing as the property is very near the Don Louis bridge. The access is via a lot of steps. Quite difficult to find but we were met at the Cathedral and shown the way. I would recommend booking the taxi through the owners as it is cheaper than the airport taxis and they know where to drop you. The apartment is small but well designed and equipped. Our one complaint was that the television did not work and no one came to fix it.

Incredible apartment that really suited my wife and I. In the heart of the historic centre of Porto and close to many sights and restaurants.
Communications were really easy and our host was extremely helpful providing local information on best restaurants, bars and places to visit.

Once we arrived at the apartments, we were very pleased with the accommodations, freshly decorated, fully stocked kitchen, spacious one bedroom apartment. There is no easy way to get to the apartments with luggage, so be prepared for stairs and/or steep inclines on cobblestone paths. The upside is no car traffic, very close to the Luis Bridge, cathedral of Porto, and the Old Porto waterfront where there are many attractions and food options.

I liked everything about it. It was so convenient and accessible. Located in the middle of a historical region and near restaurants, it offered an amazing view of the bridge and was very clean. Everything was awesome. Just a heads up: it is far from the street, and you need to walk all the way with your luggage and take it up and down the stairs. That is the only negative point for this apartment.

This was a cute property but challenging to access (especially with luggage) due to the many stairs in the area. The apartment had all the amenities you would want and a lovely king size bed. It was comfortable and close to everything. We were able to get parking near by but drive on some pretty tight streets to access. With no luggage and no car the place is great but luggage and a vehicle makes this place a bit tricky.

I had read reviews of different properties in the neighborhood before I booked this apartment. I intentionally chose this one because it is very walkable to all the tourist attractions while we didn’t have to be bothered by typical noises in the evening. It is a marvelous choice. I was especially touched by the hostess when we arrived. She gave us warm nata fresh from a nearby store. I greatly appreciate her hospitality. We had a pleasant stay at this property. I strongly recommend it.

She immediately made us feel welcome, offering us detailed recommendations of things to do, arranging transport to dinner for us when it was raining, and checking in through our stay about our experience in Porto. She clearly enjoys helping visitors feel welcomed and at home in her city. The property was clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with necessities. The location also could not be better - we were within minutes walking distance of Ribeira, the Sé, and Sao Bento Station. We could not have asked for a better room, location, or host. Elizabeth was excellent! Very warm and welcoming and helpful to any of our needs. The apartment was great! The location was central to mostly everything if you don’t mind walking. It was quiet away from the main streets and it was equipped with everything you need. It is located on stairs and hills so if you have trouble walking this may be challenging but all of Porto is fairly hilly so to me it was not an issue and I love to walk and explore. Would stay again and highly recommend.

The location was amazing - we had a stunning view of the river and bridge and was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do! We only took a taxi once when it was pouring down raining. The staff was so sweet and helpful, having great communication the entire stay!

The property is located in the center of all activities. Great place to feel part of Porto. There is a small restaurant a few step up from the apartment with great food and hospitality. The property manager , Elizabeth, is on top of everything responding to our needs in a few minutes. The decor of the apartment is modern and have all the amenities.

Stairway to heaven

This place is located on the historic steps below the Cathedral, which is cool, but be prepared for some walking and climbing to get home. The place was spotless and well appointed, but the only windows look onto the busy staircase outside so for privacy the shades are drawn. The apartment is completely cut out of stone, so it's pretty dark in there. But we were out and about so much it didn't bother us. You meet a lot of nice people on the staircase. And they are all gone at night, so it's very quiet. THe service was excellent throughout our stay. Elizabeth, the property manager was very helpful. Only the top apartment will have a view. Not the one we were in.

We loved our stay at Arco apartment! Elizabeth went above and beyond. She had a taxi waiting at the airport for us. Took beautiful photos from the terrace of us with the famous Porto bridge in the background. She had excellent recommendations on what to do and where to eat. She even had port brought to us on the house. My mom left her sweater there and she's even mailing it back to us. Great experience and beautiful accomodation with spectacular views in a great spot. Would definitely stay there again!

Stay in a piece of history. A truly amazing location that makes you feel that you are truly living in a photo.

I dont know where to start, Elizabeth our host was just incredible. From setting up the reservation and arranging our pickup from Opo to Arco. The property is very well kept and close to everything Porto. We cant wait to come back for a longer stay in the future.

This apartment has one of the best locations if you are looking for a beautiful river view. The bridge and river view from the living room and bedroom was magical and we could hear the music playing from Riberiera in the evening. There are stairs in front of the apartment that would take directly to the lower bridge. The apartment had all the amenities and full stocked kitchen for our stay.
I don’t have enough words of apprecIation for Elizabeth. I have never met a sweet and caring person like her in my life. She was waiting for us at the apartment when we reached the apartment and gave us all the instructions etc. she came back to meet us on our check out day and arranged a taxi for us for the airport. It felt like we had a friend in Porto who was there to help and guide us. She also brought us delicious cakes for breakfast on our check out day. I would definitely go back and stay at this apartment!!!

We could not have chosen a better place to stay! Elizabeth, our hostess/property manager was the best! She made parking and finding the property a breeze. The apartment was a perfect combination of what my husband and I both love-historic and charming for me, but modern amenities for him. The location was perfect-right in the heart of historic Porto! Great location, charming flat, terrible bed.

The location of the apartment is perfect for exploring Porto. It’s by the river in the Ribeira section of Porto, which is in walking distance to the river and Port Houses. The apartment is cozy with the exception of the bed, which was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. It was just a box spring with no mattress. I am an avid camper and am used to sleeping in tents. My camping/backpacking sleeping pads are a luxury compared to this bed.

Porto: a magical city full of magic and people

Incredible flats in the core of Porto. Elizabeth, my host, was incredible meeting me and helping with my luggage, inviting me to meet her friends who showed me Porto at night. She was very kind trying to help with all my queries and needs. Flats are beautiful, fully equipped, very nice decorated, great toiletries. Location requires some up and down stairs yet when in Porto is unavoidable, yet that is the charm in ancient cities. 5min walk to the Riviera, Luis Ponte, Cathedral, São Bento gare and other attractions. If you are ever in Porto look this up you won’t be disappointed!

We stayed in Santana. It's spacious and well equipped, no view but has a little outdoor courtyard. Most unusual feature is the glassed in chunks of the old city walls in the bedroom.
The apartments are situated in a fantastic ancient area of Porto. No traffic, just cobbled steps. It's true that it's just a few minutes to get down to the riverside...but a lot longer to get back!
Can't review this property without mentioning Elizabeth who was fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble. From booking our airport transfers to bringing us tasty local treats. She is brilliant!

Absolute perfection!

Our apartment was absolutely stunning! We had the most incredible view of the river, the bridge, and all of Gaia. Located just behind the Cathedral (literally on the Cathedral property), this was walking distance to everything in Porto. Elizabeth was extraordinary - texting us directions for parking and helping us navigate our way around. She had great recommendations for dinners, too. If you're bringing your own car, finding the road to park on is a bit tricky (you literally have to drive onto the Cathedral property and then drive around in the alley), but once you figure it out it's quite simple. This apartment was perfect for us - we had a difficult time getting motivated to go explore the city because we had the best view in town!

GREAT place to stay while in Porto! Location was excellent. All the staff were very accommodating. We loved the Old world charm of the location while still having all the modern amenities in the Apartments.
This place is a must stay if your are visiting Porto.
Upon arrival Elizabeth greeted us with some local desserts, then answered all of our many questions. It was so helpful to have her as our concierge. We cannot say Thank You enough for making our entire stay so stress free!

Drive in tight along se Cathedral and only ten steps down to your fantastic apartment. Elizabeth is very professional and willing to go that extra bit.
