We really enjoyed our stay at “ the palace” Wonderful location in old town. Fantastic room! Super clean, comfy bed. Fully equipped kitchen with clothes washer and dishwasher. If only the weather had been better we would have totally enjoyed the garden we could access right from the room. The included breakfast was in a cosy little room with a family like atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The communication was clear and the staff were very friendly and kind. The property itself is a historical building and beautiful. The apartment we had was spacious with working appliances and umbrellas that were handy for the rain. The bathrooms is our apartment were terrible - there was only a filthy shower curtain separating the shower form the rest of the bathroom which ended up getting soaked. The walk up the stairs to the bedroom was tricky at night as the floor and stairs are same colour and I tripped. Besides the bathrooms, the other major issues as the constant upsell - for example we were told if we pull out the pull-out couch it was a 40€ fee. They left 4 coffee pods for 4 people to use over 5 days - if we wanted more 2€ each - luckily we bought them at grocery store for 20 cents each. Overall, the property is beautiful, in an excellent location, is safe with kind, friendly staff.

I also appreciated the quick intro to the area around the hotel but found the rest I recommendations to be overpriced and extremely touristy. We were able to find better restaurants in the area and half the price for the same or similar meals.

This hotel was an absolute unicorn. We were a group of 6 women who wanted our own space but to be together and this hotel totally hit the mark. Each unit had multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, all of which had character and incredibly clean. The location was perfection (2 min walk from Dom Luis bridge). Staff were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend for families and small groups.

This was simply wonderful. The historical background made this a unique stay. The two floor apartment, which included a washer, was very spacious, well-decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was really spacious with lots of hot water. The AC worked really well. The staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of great options to choose from. It was also located in a great area where we were able to walk to a lot of the major sites and attractions.

An amazing place to stay to visit Porto. Could not be better located. The 2 bedroom apartment was beautiful, ample space and very well equipped if you went for longer than the 3 nights we did. My father and I had a wonderful stay at Condes de Azevedo. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and the restaurants around the hotel are just fantastic. I actually stayed here last year with my two girlfriends and the place is absolutely stunning. Clean, comfortable and it feels like a real home.We also did a trip to the Druro wine region, which I highly recommend.
Hopefully, I will be back again Monday. Thank you to all the staff who are incredibly kind. A 10 out of 10😀

Wow, such a beautiful and historic hotel. We loved our accommodations, the location cannot be beat. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Pedro spent quite a bit of time with us detailing the different sites in Porto. Thank you, we visited so many places he suggested and had a great time. The breakfast is superb! The made-to-order eggs cooked by the staff were delicious and the fresh fruit, cheese, baked goods, and juices were delightful. Our room was gorgeous with a very comfortable and stylish sofa, unique furniture, cute kitchen, two spacious rooms for our family, and beautiful windows overlooking the city. The only negative was the toilet in the primary suite. It kept running unless you manually lifted the valve into the off position. But besides that, we had a wonderful stay and wish we could have stayed at least two more days. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Porto in the future. Obrigada, ciao Porto!

This hotel is in the perfect location. Walking distance to everything and close proximity to the Dom Luis bridge. The apartment was a stunning mix of old and new. The original windows and staircase leading up to the second floor was a beautiful nod to the past. We had more than enough room in our apartment. It was two floors with two large bathrooms and bedrooms. Could easily accommodate a family. Just a warning though for you girlies that like to use hair tools - there are no outlets in the bathrooms so you have to do your styling in a main room without a mirror. I guess a small price to pay for staying in a hundreds year old palace!

We had an excellent stay. From the time of booking, the staff at the Condes de Azevedo Palace made sure we were looked after. The apartment was a mixture of the old, new and the quirky, which I particularly liked. Front of house were always on hand and happy to offer advice on everything about Porto. The secret garden was a great place to go for a quiet drink. I would highly recommend this beautiful location as the perfect base to explore an amazing city. Would definitely stay again.

Big disappointment - after paying a 5* price, many little things were NOT right: from the begining the hotel did not observe my perks ( including FREE BREAKFAST FOR 4 DAYS) etc of my booking; it has a coffee machine in the room but they charge for coffee pods; no room service if you do not specifically ask for it on each day at the reception; best thing on the average brekkie menu was the omelet- if you can wait 30+ minutes ; we got one omelet for two people, after waiting 30 minutes for the ordered two omelets; we booked taxi the day before through the Concierge, \"regular taxi ~ 10-12 Euro\" for 2 km ride to the train station - to get a big Mercedes van who insisted on E 25 (45' before our train deparrure); depart the hotel under the indolent eyes of the concierge, carrying 5 pieces of luggage down 10 staires, without any offer to help... after a E 5 tip on arrival. Porto Gem!!!

We spent 4 incredible nights at this hotel! We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom suite apartments which was well appointed, clean, and super comfy! It even came with a washing machine which was a major bonus. The location was perfect for walking to most destinations and there was even parking for our rental car, a rare find in the area. The staff was top notch, providing for all possible needs and going above and beyond to help provide food & activity recommendations, and help book reservations at local restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel to any and all and will look forward to staying there again when we visit Porto!

Dirty and not as pictured

Unfortunately our stay here was not good. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment (the photos were beautiful) but that was not what we received, we received a basement room. The kitchen and second bedroom were on the basement level. The room was completely separate from the entire hotel. Besides the check-in area, we never even went in the hotel. Our room was in a separate entrance right across from where the breakfast opens at 7 AM. The entire view of the apartment was of the basement alcove which was filthy with algae. The second bedroom and bathroom reeked of mildew or mold. We did not feel comfortable going down there and had to keep the door closed the entire time. Because of this, our children had to sleep on the sofa. The whole apartment was dirty with dust and grim. The kitchen floor was original stone and filthy. We asked if there was another room available and we were told they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do. At checkout we found out they did in fact have another room but the staff did not offer it. The manager told us he would make things right for us but we needed to write an email. Nothing has been done. Be weary when booking this hotel as we were told all rooms are different and the photos are just of one room (obviously, the nicest one).

The suites and the common areas are stunning. We had a 1-bedroom suite, with a large living room (with large windows) and well-equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable.

The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating, and gave us good advice about restaurants and touring around Porto.

This is a lovely place right in the heart of Oporto. But be ready for lots of hills if you plan to visit the river side as it is in the upper part of the city. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations and reservations.

If you can, reserve suite 7. It’s a separate building which was once the old kitchen. It comes complete with exposed brick and historical features such as a water font. It had a full kitchen and washer/dryer which was very useful after several weeks of travel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms were a good size.

The location is good but parking was a challenge.

I would definitely stay here again if I return to Porto.

Spectacular property in the most ideal location with quick access to the top of the Luis 1st bridge. An Amazingly kind staff who were thoughtful and remarkably helpful throughout our stay. Would highly recommend as the ideal place to stay on anyone’s upcoming visit to Porto.

We had a lovely stay in this renovated palace. Our room was so nicely done and spacious that it made a very comfortable stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though the palace is on a busy street it was quiet in the room at night. Duarte and other staff were able to assist us whenever we asked for any assistance. It is so close to all the historical sites and the Douro River.
