Overall great hotel. Great location and the friendliest staff. Rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. They gave us a complimentary bottle of Port Wine which was lovely. I gave it 4 stars ONLY because the one downfall is there is live music outside near the river that plays from morning time until 10-10:30pm at night and we had a room facing the river. The windows are not soundproof at all and it was very loud in the room. So just be weary when booking a river view.

Our stay at the Gran Cruz was really spectacular. Nestled in the historic river district, the room provided beautiful views of the river below. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Be prepared for music from the street but ended by 10:30 ensuring a good night sleep. Breakfast was delicious and the view just lovely. Highly recommend

Just a bit noisy for sleeping. This location is very popular and it does stay busy until 1 am. Make sure you have good ear plugs. The location, staff, accommodations and especially the food is outstanding. Great gin tonic with juniper berries cocktail. I ended up buying the gin at the duty free shop on the way home.

Conveniently located in the heart of everything. The room was clean, updated, and beautiful with a great view. The best part is the staff, by far. The front desk was especially helpful in arranging for an early morning taxi to take us to the airport, in providing extra towels and toiletries, and recommending points of interest. The breakfast was exceptional; not to be missed.

It was an excellent location for us in terms of seeing and doing what we wished to do. The staff was very accommodating and even provided a boxed breakfast for us on a morning that we joined an early tour group. Breakfast was delicious at the hotel.If you like a small hotel with great views of the river and a welcoming staff then this is the place ! A word of advice...pack lightly unless you accept a transfer because some Ubers and taxi's cannot pull up to the door.

The Gran Cruz House is in the perfect location, right by the river and walkable to all local attractions and restaurants. We stayed in the White Room for one night and the Pink Room for four. Both rooms were lovely but we really loved the Pink Room due to its small balcony and beautiful views.
The rooms were nice and clean and the shower pressure was great. The area has a lovely vibe with street entertainers and market stalls and the view from the room was amazing.
Some reviews mention noise but once we closed the windows and shutters we couldn’t hear anything at night.

Perfect Small Boutique Hotel
The Grand Cruz Hotel is simply a delight in the most desirous location, right along the river front. We were so pleased with our spacious and well-lit room with all the windows and, such incredible views. This is a perfect boutique hotel. The staff is so professional and willing to assist you in any way. For example, the desk manager offered to help lug our luggage up a hill. Thankfully, it was not necessary. But they go the extra mile. The breakfasts with Andre were perfect and you can sit and watch the river scenes. We loved every moment of our stay here.

The rooms with a wonderful view to the river. The only thing I should request is to tell you that a taxi can leave you right in front of the hotel. So if you bring your own car with your luggage, a taxi can take you to the hotel from the parking lot.

The Gran Cruz House is in the perfect location, and the team there is amazing. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again. It is simple to take the water taxi across the river to visit the port houses, and the area around the hotel is very walkable and lively, with lots of restaurants and bars. I would have liked to have had a coffee pot or tea kettle in the room, but it was pretty simple to go outside and find coffee, so that is a pretty minor quibble.

We loved our stay at the Gran Cruz House. The hotel is right on the busy riverside, so it is a bit noisy until midnight, but other than that this tiny boutique hotel is a gem. Staff was very helpful. Rooms are comfy. Do try the Casario Restaurant in the hotel. The tasting menu was our best Porto restaurant experience.

Very quaint boutique hotel in a great location. The room was beautiful, with a wonderful view over the Duoro river and Dom Luís I Bridge. In easy walking distance of everything (although being Porto, there are lots of hills).

Great location on the river, nice and comfortable room, bed and shower. The staff gets 6 stars for their service! Only thing to consider was that the music playing outside below along the river was pretty loud until 10 or 1030 pm, which didn't really bother us, in fact the singer was pretty good, but our friends in another room tried to sleep early that night and said it was hard. We would still come back and stay there again.

We had the most wonderful and magical stay at the Grab Cruz House. The morning attendant, Arthur, was amazing. He took care of us every morning and gave us ideas of places to go and things to do. He also got me a birthday reservation at a wonderful restaurant nearby. This hotel has a lot of style, sits right in the middle of one of the best areas to mill about and has a terrific staff that is very accommodating. We will be back and we will tell our friends all about it! Great value overall for all of the experiences we had!

I absolutely loved this property. We stayed in the pink room overlooking the river, and entertainment square. The welcome reception port sample was lovely welcome, and then the bottle that they supply in your room was superb.
The view is outstanding, but I will say that if you are sensitive to night noise, it is in a very busy area that parties late into the night. We didn't mind this - we simply shut the doors and put on white noise. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, and our server remembered our likes (coffee, juices, pastries), after the first day. This really is a gem of a hotel!

Stayed 3nights. Very comfortable and clean, air conditioning worked well/ quiet. The noise from the street was audible through the vintage/ old single pane the glass but it died down enough by11pm or so... didn't have to use ear plugs though it was nice that they're provided. Antonio at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful to many questions and provided a recommendation (and got us reservations) to a fantastic restaurant for dinner ( Adega Dona Antonia ). Breakfast/ items was also very good including the coffee and very attentive/ friendly service from both waiters on both mornings. This was a wonderful boutique hotel that was a perfect place to stay on the waterfront in Porto, within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, especially Antonio. The restaurant was so good that we did most of our dining at the hotel. The breakfast that was included was very good as well. It is a lively atmosphere with lots of cafes on the street but when we closed the windows and shutters it was remarkably quiet. We enjoyed the street musicians as it added to the ambiance. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel, itself was lovely~ spacious room, well appointed, and excellent location. The review is unfavorable due to the hotel’s restaurant. We ate their complimentary breakfast Saturday morning and had reservations for Saturday night (we did not eat anything else on Saturday, as we were looking forward to their menu offerings). We ate Sunday’s complimentary breakfast. Immediately following breakfast, my wife started to have diarrhea. Within 2 hours she was vomiting uncontrollably. My malaise set in around that time, and I experienced the same vomiting and diarrhea . It is 48 hours post our dinner, and 33 hours post our breakfast, and we are still sick. I hate to leave such a negative review, but I also feel obliged to warn other travels.

The hotel is at the bottom of the hill, but we knew that going in and chose it for the views of the river, which were well worth it in my opinion. Very cute boutique hotel in a prime location on the river. Sightseeing was all quite walkable. Staff were incredibly friendly and breakfast was delicious. Room (non-balcony) was clean, bed was large, bathroom decent size, great water pressure but overall, a smaller room. Overall, would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the riverfront, old town part of Porto.
