Great location and wonderful staff. We were just a little disappointed that our room did not have the print doors as shown on their website. It turns out there are only a few room rooms without amenity, even though of the room without it are given the same classification.

The hotel itself is small but absolutely beautiful. It has a unique historic character, with ancient Porto vibes that make you feel as if you’ve stepped into another century, yet with all the comfort and elegance of a boutique stay. Every detail in the décor is thoughtful and well curated.
Service was outstanding from the very beginning. Check-in was very fast, and they even accommodated us earlier than expected. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they gave us wonderful recommendations for exploring the city.
One of the most special touches was the surprise they prepared for my husband’s birthday — a bottle of wine, homemade cookies, pastel de nata typical of the region, and a handwritten card wishing him a happy birthday. It was such a thoughtful detail, and we truly appreciated the care behind it.

We only stayed for one night and had an early morning all-day Douro Valley tour so the woman at the desk offered to make us box lunches to take with us since we would miss breakfast that day. She also kindly allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel while we were on our tour.

Room small but very clean and had everything needed. Shower and sink in the bedroom so not ideal for friends sharing. Staff pleasant. A little difficult to find entrance. Metal archway at side of McDonald’s. Folllwing satnav on Google maps didn’t take us to the right place. Good continental breakfast included.

What a lovely small hotel. Bruna was incredible, best service one could imagine. Room 4 looked out over the river with a sweet balcony and an so comfortable bed. Great breakfast and wonderful location as you can walk to most places. Cannot recommend it enough.

This property is right on the river in an excellent location near lots of great restaurants, shops and excursions. The room was just as described, the bed was comfortable and the view was wonderful. The staff were great and the breakfast was very good. We had a few glitches at no fault of the property and they took responsibility and made our stay pleasant as possible. The parking is difficult in this area so if you can arrive without a car, that is best. We highly recommend it.

This small boutique hotel has rooms right on the Douro River. The view was amazing! Located in the historic old town, it was convenient to walk everywhere. The room and bathroom were large and roomy, and the bed and linens were comfortable. Breakfast included was very good, with many fresh fruits, breads, and eggs to order.

Wonderful view from our riverside room with a very comfortable bed. The staff were efficient and obliging, with a freshly prepared breakfast provided each day. Easy walking distance up into the city, and close to the bridge to cross to the other bank of the river. There were two minor negative points. It wasn't easy to use the key to leave the property, plus it seems over the top - why not have a button next to the door? And directions to reach the property could be simplified - our taxi driver from the airport had no idea where the place was. All we needed was to be told in advance was to be dropped at the taxi rank outside McDonalds, simple as that.

Check in was simple. We requested that the hotel arrange transportation from the airport. That went off without a hitch. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the area, spoke English, and provided a beautiful breakfast spread. The bed was comfortable. The room had a spectacular view of the river. The common space in the hotel has an amazing view of the river. You can walk along the waterfront which is right outside the door of the hotel. The area felt very safe. This is a charming hotel in a great central location. The room is adequate but bathroom is tight and shower doesn’t drain well. Breakfast is delicious. Staff is onsite and attentive until 4pm.

What an amazing little hotel! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like we were friends returning home, the wonderful staff were so helpful and caring.
The location was very well positioned for most of the places we wanted to visit and close to a vast array of restaurants. We had a river view room which was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the Douro.
All in all the hotel was a tranquil oasis to return to after the bustle of the city.

Armando met me after my long travels from America and helped me with my bags. I was offered free complimentary port wine and a snack! The hotel was very vintage and lovely. Every employee was extremely kind and friendly. They offer free breakfast each morning including eggs and bacon along with breads, fruits, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffees. This was the best place I’ve ever stayed and it had great views on the water!!!!

Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Biggest complaint would be the size of the room. In the fact that there was no closet. The lack of a closet meant that there was no place to store and hanging items were on a rack they provided, but it all competed for the limited floor space that the small room offered to begin with. The size might not matter as much on a one or two nights stay but we were there for five nights.

This is a great location, with walkable access to much of the city and Gaia. We highly recommend this hotel.
One suggestion: we think the the staff were relatively new - we were confused about initial access (outside gate locked with no instructions as to how to contact), refresh on breakfast was slow and only once in three days were we offered egg. No cues as to how to check out and leave key at the same time (needed to get out and then lock outer gate). Hope staff get support/training.
