We loved the eclectic decor and the garden. We had a bedroom with an attached lounge. Unfortunately due to water damage we could not use the lounge.This did impact our stay with reduced space. The owners were apologetic but their misfortune affected our stay with the use of space. The breakfast and location were great. Overall our stay was impacted with the odour of the flooded room drifting into our sleeping space. Despite apologies from the owners no further compensation or consideration was given, except next time you stay we will give you a discount. The room was also close to the kitchen of the restaurant and the noise from below continued until after mid night on some nights which also impacted our stay.

The room was huge. Staff was friendly and really made an effort to make our stay pleasant (including waiting until late for a late checkout). Breakfast was good. I didn’t try the restaurant in the site, but it looked beautiful. The hotel is in an old town house that’s very charming. A bit old but facilities are in great condition. Parking on the street was easy to find (which works great if you’re coming at a weekend, since parking is not charged on weekends), and it’s easy to walk to the center, so I could leave the car and not worry about it.

Pleasant hotel with a charming shared outdoor area and well-renovated rooms. Breakfast was good, but the layout over two levels and lack of parking (not even a drop-off spot) made it inconvenient, especially with a small child. Overall fine, but not the level experience it’s marketed as.

What a beautiful property! The rooms are so gorgeous and the building as well...you feel like you are going back in time. The staff is amazing- we were given excellent recommendations by the woman at the check in and followed her advice and saw so much of Porto in 2 days! Definitely make it to the public garden down the block...Cristal Palace...stunning! The music from the restaurant was a little loud but they turned it down when we asked, so that was much appreciated. Breakfast was good and dining area lovely. Highly recommend. Walkable to most sites!

It's a small hotel. We booked a family suite which has the bedroom upstairs and sitting area downstairs, it's spacious though not quite efficient.The room is very nice and clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom is good too. The only disappointment was we didn't have any towels for the first night, the reception was already closed when we found.We saw ants in our room which would deduct the rating a bit. The hotel webpage showed parking available but those are public parking and the rate is $22/day which is quite expensive comparing to other hotels we booked in Lagos and Sintra which includes parking.

Lovely authentic hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Room was spacious and comfortable. Third floor with no elevator a little daunting for over 70’s with luggage and hip replacements. The restaurant in the garden hosts large groups so can be noisy, loud music. Also a neighbourhood dog enjoyed barking most of the day and often into the night, irritating. Breakfast was lovely, delicious and offered everything you could want.

We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant on the premises with a beautiful garden.
The breakfast offered more than enough options for eating a nutritious breakfast. There was one wait staff and she was friendly and attentive. We recommend this lodging and would return.

Lovely refurbished building. Our room was unique; a door off the entry that took you to a small sitting room and stairs up to the bed and bath. Very nice; comfortable bed, good ventilation, great shower and a sitting area balcony overlooking the garden and restaurant. They offer a lovely buffet breakfast and Annabella and staff were very accommodating. And we discovered how incredible the restaurant, Jangal, is. Incredible menu, newly opened. Truly a great experience not to be missed.

Lovely, old home in Porto near the beautiful public gardens of the Palacio Cristal. Wonderful hosts in a place that is funky chic, esp the great garden where you can bring your glass of wine to sit. 20 min walking from most sites.

Best kept secret in Porto!

From the outside you can't tell what a wonderful place this is! Once you step inside and see the garden, you realize how amazing is tge property. The rooms, the restaurant, the breakfast, the service...everuthing is top notch! Can't say enough about Graça and José, what a nice couple! Once he heard I had bad knees, he personally lugged all our luggage both ways and we had 3 very heavy pieces! He also picked up my car at the garage so that I wouldn't have to deal with traffic at check out. We loved Porto and will stay there again when we return.

Lucked on to this hotel by chance

We booked this hotel and knew nothing about the area. Turns out that it is right on the beach and we had a view of the beach without being one of the front side rooms - very nice accommodations and staff and with the access card to nearby hotel garage - it was a definite plus since we had a car. It was hard to walk all day and there is no elevator,so we have to drag our bags all the way up..it shows 24 hrs help desk and it’s not...air condition not working so we have to open the windows and we hear cars , ambulance passing by and we did not sleep good. Breakfast is not that great either..normally breakfast is 6am, but it starts at 8am so our day is shorter as we have to wait for breakfast, instead of early morning so we could start earlier. The pictures on this loft shows the stairs and it looks great at first but it’s the back of the house and we thought we are lost at first when we arrived, but it was the loft..everything in the pictures shows great but it’s not what it is...24 hrs help desk is not really 24 hrs help desk...the owner is helpful though...a lot of walking and then we get to the loft we need to go up the stairs and the owner said 2nd floor but it is actually 3rd floor, I don’t k ow how they described 2nd floor and 3 rd floor in Porto...

A Unique and Creative Inn

This is a little out of the tourist area which turned out to be quite a nice benefit. It was a short walk to the historic area and waterfront. The inn is very charming and the daily breakfast was great. Jose, the host, was very accommodating. The decor is very creative with unique little art displays and some wonderful paintings. The rooms are comfortable with plenty of space. You could spend a day exploring or relaxing in the garden which has little gathering areas, hammocks and fig trees. We enjoyed our short stay there and wish we had stayed longer.

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed the fact that it was central to everything but was extremely quiet. Both Graca and Jose, along with their daughter Joana, were incredible hosts. They were very helpful in assisting us with directions, sites to visit, and restaurant and taxi reservations. Great breakfast served each morning as well. We definitely recommend this B&B and we would definitely stay there again.

Walk everywhere.

We were greeted by the owner who took the time to go over the town with us by map and make suggestions for our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. If it wasn’t raining we would have loved to sit in the huge back yard. Unique furniture and art in entrance and rooms.

Wonderful boutique hotel

Hotel is a perfect location to explore the city. It is just outside the central core but good walking or short cab ride to most important and historic places. The hosts are very warm and helpful, making our stay as comfortable as possible. We highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Porto in the future.

Small is beautiful, less is more

Tucked behind an old fashioned front door where you have to ring the bell to get in, this is a great boutique hotel with personal service par excellence from the owners. Such a change from the big hotels with their impersonality, industrial breakfasts, (here we had a beautiful contintinal breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, home made pastries and proper coffee) and noise. A well located hotel just minutes away from all that is important to see in Oporto.

Porto guesthouse with heaps of character and charm

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute. We had a huge room which opened onto the garden. Quiet and very comfortable. The house has been renovated with real style and flare, but also retains it's original features . We loved the character and quirkiness of the place. We walked everywhere (to justify the enormous amount of eating and drinking we did!). It's about 10 minutes walk to the top of the old town and the same down to the river. There is a good bus service if you don't fancy the much longer walk back up! The family who own and run Oporto Guesthouse are such nice people. We had a really memorable break staying at Oporto Guesthouse and will definitely be returning.

Oporto Loft - Porto

The Oporto Loft has loads of character with big rooms and excellent bathrooms. The owners are superb at helping with information about Porto. It's easy to walk to Porto centre and bus/tram stops nearby, including an airport bus stop 3 minutes away. Excellent local restaurant a few doors away opposite the Crystal palace park. Minor things - fridge didn't work and there is a charge for using the coffee machine (pods) in the bedroom.

Charming hotel - caring owners

Nice stay in this wonderful hotel - lots of character, lots of charm. A little remote if you want to be in the middle of the action. But we enjoyed the 15+ minute walk down and back up. Streets are a bit confusing at first but Google Maps saved the day for us.

Unique Hotel with Beautiful Garden

From the street, the hotel is quite narrow. But then it opens up into a charming old mansion with an enormous garden out back full of Camellia trees. They has a two room suite with a bed made up on a sofa for our son. The suite had a rear exit onto a patio and the garden. Good water pressure. An excellent breakfast. Run by a kind and efficient family. Good Wifi. Nearby restaurants. Parking is in a nearby parking garage, which is much easier than the \"good luck required\" street parking that we had in most other parts of Portugal. (side note: I wish we had picked up the rental car on the way out of Porto. Taxis are much easier around town.)

Very very comfortable bed and antique room decor

Hotel room was very impressive. Hotel owners were very helpful.
The soft bed was absolutely the best......
Lack of signage in front of the hotel makes it very easy to miss the hotel when driving by.
There is no street parking in front of the hotel, so have to park across the street and down the road in Cristal Palace underground parking approx. 400m away. Cost is 10 euro per day so good deal, but have to truck luggage up and out to street level and then approx. 400m to the hotel.
We stayed in street view room on top 3rd floor of hotel.....there is no elevator so you not only have to truck your luggage 400m from underground parking to hotel but then have to carry luggarge up from 1 to 3 levels of stairs to get to your room. You better be physically fit and/or pack light. but once in the room it was well worth the hassle.
Room was very nice. The old antique wooden doors were very impressive only negative were the old locks were a little finicky to unlock.
Overall very satified with our stay in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to still be close to downtown (5 to 10min walk) but just far enough away to be away from noise and able to get a good nights rest.

The initial impression of the hotel is OK. But the room and the breakfast was as good as it gets for the pricing. The front of the hotel is busy and hotel is away a little from center of town and tourist center.But it offers a flavor of localness and some tranquility. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel.

Best hotel on our Spain and Portugal trip

This lovely little hotel/guest house was the best of our hotels during three weeks we traveled in Spain and Portugal. The beautiful 1884 building provided a generous, spotless and comfortable room, with access to a secret garden at the back. The hosts are wonderful and the breakfasts are scrumptious. Enjoy some home made pastries and yoghurt! All in all, a lovely restful break on our trip. Location also good.

This Hotel is a Beautiful Retreat

We stayed at the Oporto Loft Art Hotel both before and after our Camino Portugues pilgrimage. We were treated so well by the owners, and the rooms were simply beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable. Art is everywhere in this hotel, and the back garden is stunning. I would make a special trip to Porto just to say at this wonderful place!

It is a lovely hotel in Porto with great artistic taste. We’ve stayed in a family suite where we had two rooms, one in the 0 floor with a couch and a refrigerator, and another in the 1st floor with a bed and a bathroom. From the 1st floor, you can access the garden through the terrace. Breakfast is included in your stay and it was fabulous. It is in a 10 minute walking distance from the city centre. Oh and one more thing. The hotel itself doesn’t have a parking garage of its own, however, a parking lot of the Crystal Palace park is within 3 minutes of walking distance.

Charmantes Haus mit tollem Garten, eine echte Ruheoase nach dem Trubel in der Stadt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Betten sind super bequem und das Frühstück sehr lecker. Sonderwünsche wie frisches Rührei werden ebenfalls erfüllt. Die Altstadt ist fußläufig in 15 min erreichbar.

Very charming hotel – unusual because it reminds me more of an upscale B&B. Big garden with music, bar and restaurant (which we didn't try), friendly staff and ok. breakfast. It's not close to the inner city - it takes 15 minutes to walk, but it's ok. But beware that you have to check in before 10pm. We arrived late with the plane and after midnight it was closed and locked up (you need a passkey for the door), so we had to find another hotel at 2 am - NOT FUNNY! I think for young people the hotel works great - laid back attitude etc. but for older middleaged like like ourselves I would prefer a more traditional hotel - also considering the price, which is not cheap for Porto-hotels.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut und in der Nähe gibt es öffentliche kostenpflichtige Parkplätze. Das Zimmer was wir hatten war sehr geräumig mit Blick auf den schönen Garten. In diesem befindet sich auch ein kleines Restaurant mit Bar.
Das individuelle Frühstück war sehr lecker und hatte alles was man morgens braucht.
