The views and settings out of this world but nothing else was top rate.
For the overall price per night I expect a lot better.
The shower was so, so the towels to small no dressing gown and the included breakfast a joke.
Parking was extra and no valet parking.
I stayed 4 nights but 2 would have been enough.

What you are paying for is the view. While spacious, the rooms are badly in need of updating (furniture, fixtures, kitchen), and the desk staff were inattentive and borderline rude. We enjoyed the museum, but entry isn’t included in the price of the room.

Unique property for those who seek peace and quiet. Loved roaming around inside the hotel and experiencing the mountain side caverns that lead you to your room. We booked an apartment and it was fully stocked with everything we needed to enjoy staying in to eat and watch the sunset. We tried the sushi restaurant the second night and it was fabulous. This is an experience environment catered for someone who wants to be part of an artists culture and enjoy nature. This is a rustic hotel property with art work everywhere.
We come to Punta every year and staying here will be our new tradition.

Hotel was just ok. It is a busy museum so there’s usually no parking during the day. My room was under the museum and they start some kinda construction every day around 7:30 am before open which vibrated the roof and walls plus the museum is open from about 8am-9pm and it’s loud. There is no hot tub as listed. The beds in the king room are two twins pushed together and they separate at night if you move at all. Breakfast is ok it’s the same exact meal for the 7days I was there. They do charge for the water and coke they put in your room.

you might not be handy cap to be here, If you have issues WALKING, SEEN or climbing stairs.. clausto fovia too could be an issue DO NOT TAKE THIS HOTEL. Parking is far and a lot of stairs, expensive too. Do not bring too many bags or you will suffer. The view and art wonderful. you can still see it going only to the museum next door.

The only positive thing about the hotel is that it is on the cliff and rooms have a balcony with a view. Other than that, it is a two-star hotel. The stag was wholly unfriendly and unsympathetic. We arrived at midnight, and before checking us in, she asked us to “wait while I finish something” and kept us waiting for ten minutes while his other colleague watched us. We were the only guests in the lobby. The rooms are big but old, and you can tell you have not been updated in at least twenty years. Breakfast was poor and unflavored except for the pain au chocolate, which might be the third good thing.

The checking experience was disappointing, I felt like the customer time was not value, the process was slow, and burocrático. The room condition was ok but not for a 4 stars hotel. Plastic chairs in the balcony, white lights lamps illuminating the room, not warm like in all 5 stars hotels in the world, the shower curtain extend to the bathtub floor, old lamp shades, wall in need of paint, in one word the room need a refresh. Bathroom also was outdated. I sound picky? Well… remember I’m reviewing a 4 stars hotel.

We luckily got a discount on our room. During the normal season it’s way pricier.

It’s gorgeous here. Staff are friendly. Supposedly six cats live on the property but I only met one :( it did greet me while I sunbathed, which I loved.

I loved the breakfast buffet. Not sure why some have complained about it. The bacon was amazing. The pan au chocolate was great. Loved the ricotta Torta. Legit one of the best buffets in a Uruguayan hotel.

Only suggestion is to have protection from mosquitoes in the rooms.

Great location, unique architecture

Casapueblo is in an amazing location near Punta del Este, Uruguay. The architecture is beautiful and artsy, as it was originally built by a well-known Uruguayan painter. It is, however, showing its age and could use some updates without losing its uniqueness. The shower in our room needs to have the hot water faucet fixed so it can be better regulated, as it was almost impossible to get the right water temperature. The door to our balcony (superb views) did not close properly and it needed to be fixed during our stay. Service was very uneven. Our request to get our door fixed was not relayed to maintenance when promised and we had to ask again. Our towels were not always replaced fully (all dirty ones were removed but the wash cloths were not replaced) and toiletries not refilled until we complained that we were running out. It looked like personnel was not sufficiently trained or supervised and/or there was a staff shortage. Once we complained at the front desk on day 4 when our "complaints" had accumulated enough to say something, we got the toiletries replenished and another set of bath towels provided (still no wash cloths). We were surprised that there no tissues in the room. The ladies at the front desk did listen to us and hopefully passed on our feedback to management. A very nice touch: when we got back from an evening out, they delivered a cold bottle of champagne to our room. Unique location but uneven service does not match high price we paid.

Absolutely not worth the money. If we do come back to Punta, I would much rather just come and have a drink at the bar. Everything is completely outdated and the bathrooms really need a major upgrade. The charm and quirkiness is what drew up to Casapueblo, but the hotel from the inside is truly stuck in the 80s. The gym has machines that are so old they have rust on them, and there is a hidden charge for everything- towel rentals, chair paddings, a later checkout (BTW, check out is at 10 am and they will charge you if you are not out by then), etc.. Lunch menu is the same as dinner, and the restaurant is closed from 5-8pm so that a private tour company can enjoy the restaurant and patio area during sunset... The views and private balconies truly are spectacular, but why spend all that money when you can get all that by just visiting the bar while in town. The food is great too, but with a very limited and repetitive menu and with nothing really nearby, it makes you think about staying here for more than 1 night. Breakfast was another huge letdown-one that you had to wait to 8 AM to realize you only have an assortment of bread and nothing else. For a resort price, I would much rather spend it on a hotel that actually felt like a resort. The views and exterior (which really are spectacular) is what is keeping the hotel afloat, but it unfortunately falls so short of its potential. This hotel really could be something else if they just put some TLC in the inside.

This hotel is hard to describe but it definitely worth a 1 or 2 night stay. Dr. Seuss may have helped design it but this does not mean it is super kid friendly. It is more like you have jumped inside one of his illustrations when you are there. Quiet and great ocean views but no direct access to sand. Public beaches with parking are 10 minutes away and have nice shallow shores with hard packed sand, good for soccer and jogging. Rooms vary in size so you might ask for a different room if the size feels wrong for your party.

Casapueblo is the creation of an artist so it's truly unique. Located about 5 miles from Punta del Este so you'll need a car. But the sea views from the patio of every room are well worth it. Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The rooms are large and very comfortable.

Sure, the architecture and uniqueness is off the charts. But beware if you dont drive to casa and choose to take a bus, u will hike up and down hilly road for 2 kilometers from bus stop-better hope its not raining!! Front desk agent shook me down for "voucher", which hotels.com did not advise of. The bathroom shower faucets are primitive and water flows when it wants to; intermittently. The breakfast is incleded and great. Dinner,however, double or triple from the rest of uruguay!!! No wonder we were 1 of only 2 couples dining.....
Bottomline, if you want breathtaking views and enjoy old architecture, and dont mind travelling 30 minutes by car to the contemporary city of punte del este, this is your spot!!!

Great views and architecture badly run hotel

Good room and clean and great views. One swimming pool was very dirty, lifts were often not available, poor quality food at outrageously high prices and drinking water also at outrageously high prices. The hotel takes full advantage of its isolated location and marks up very high the prices of all essential items. You might be best to make an excursion to watch the sunset but go by car and fond another hotel that takes pride in its service and doesn't take advantage and over charge. I won't go back to stay there.

I stayed 2 days during the weekend. The weather was nice and the hotel location did not disappoint. However, the service and restaurant disappointed. Nobody to serve guests in the swimming pool or any other location of the hotel, except the restaurant. Checkout at 10am for a weekend hotel was also a negative surprise (50% room rate to extend to 2pm!). Overall experience was ok...more disappointed than surprised on the upside. There are better options to stay in Punta.

I travel to Uruguay every few years to visit family and have always wanted to stay at this hotel. I am so glad we did. The hotel is stunningly beautiful and magical. Nothing like I have ever seen before. The hallways look like caves, the room we stayed in was HUGE, and the view is just spectacular. The hotel itself is a work of art and everyone that views my pictures are amazed. The parking is a bit of a hassle because there just isn't any parking on a cliff. There are a lot of tourist visiting the hotel museum and punta ballena (they bus them in there) but I didn't feel like it was a big deal because the hotel area is much more private. The only issue I had with the hotel was some of the small details. For example, the tiny bathroom garbage they had was the type that you step on and the lid opens. Well, it was so darn cheap that it didn't work and I found myself lifting the lid with my hands. Also the balcony chairs were cheap plastic ones and my girl sat on one and the leg broke and could've gotten hurt. If I'm spending $250 a night they could spend a little more money on those small details.
Overall, the experience while we were there was what mattered. The free breakfast was great and the wifi worked well in the room. The room was two stories with full kitchen and bedroom downstairs and so unique. We spent 3 nights there and out of all the hotels we stayed at in Uruguay and Argentina, Hotel Casa Pueblo was our favorite just because of the amazing surroundings.

This place speaks for itself. It is beyond gorgeous. We arrived late at night and our ONLY complaint, was that we could not figure out where the entrance to the hotel was! We rang the door to the museum, and finally realized that we needed to ring the box next to the closed lit gate. Once we were in, we were BLOWN AWAY. The staff were the first people we met during our trip who spoke fluent english and were happy to go above and beyond for us during our stay. The room was incredible, the bed was way too comfortable, and the ocean view was magnificent. We wished we could have stayed for another night. What a wonderful way to spend our first night in Uruguay.

An incredibly beautiful spot on the planet! The view of the ocean from our room was amazing. The architecture if the hotel is amazing. I loved walking through all of its passages and corridors. Breakfast is good. The room was bigger than we thought with a full kitchenette. Our bed was comfortable and we loved our little patio with beach view. The kids beds were also comfortable and they turned the beds down nightly. The only things was the carpet in our room turned our feet black. Yuck! That aside, I would definitely go back. We thought the staff was friendly and helpful, but never had anything out of the ordinary we requested.

Stunning view! The hotel itself is quite stunning, and has that resembelance to The Greek isles. The elevator is a little small so if you are cloisterphobic then this is a concern. Service was very good and our room, Mariposa, was very clean. Room furniture is simple, and ample space in the room. Big king size bed. Bathroom was simple and We were expecting more.
Casa pueblo is very isolated from Punta del Este. About 10min drive. Hiring a car is highly recommended. Reception can organize this for you. The car hiring company will come to the hotel if you like and pick you up an take you to the airport where the car is kept.
Breakfast was nice but simple. Gym was good and indoor pool was great as We did not get the best weather to go to the beach.
Overall, very enjoyable and the sunset view is unforgettable.

Spend your $ Some Place Other than at Casa Pueblo

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and although the room was clean and the view is very nice, we believe the hotel is not worth the money. You would be better off to stay some place else and just visit this property as they have a restaurant that is open to the public and so is the museum.

Be a part of a piece of art

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! I´m a graphic designer and I love architecture, art and design in general. So staying in this hotel was a special treat. The location and setting of this hotel is so serene and naturally gorgeous. If you appreciate architecture, art and design, then this hotel is for you.

There are other reviews about the poor service here, and I have to agree. It´s too bad that such a nice hotel can have such poor service. Our crazy, spewing shower head needed repair, but was neglected, we dealt with water all over the floor. Also, the receptionist staff didn´t seem too interested in helping me too much. Luckily the beauty of the hotel surpassed that negative aspect for me.

There is only wifi in the receptionist lobby area, which is kind of a pain. But if you´re on vacation, its better to get away from internet anyway.

The food in the restaurant was ´really good, for lunch and dinner. The breakfast that is included is nothing special. If you stay there during a nice day, you must go to the cafe in the museum and watch the sunset from the patio/deck, it´s gorgeous. The museum is nice as well.

Hope this is helpful! I highly recommend staying here. I would come back.

Escrevemos com profunda insatisfação em relação à nossa estádia do dia 27/04/2026, pela qual pagamos o equivalente a mais de USD 180, valor que pressupõe, no mínimo, uma infraestrutura à altura do que é anunciado e cobrado.

Ao chegarmos ao hotel, utilizamos as áreas comuns e subimos ao quarto. Tomamos UMA ducha, uma única e saímos para jantar no centro da cidade. Ao retornarmos, assistimos a filmes e decidimos utilizar a banheira do quarto. A banheira. Aquele elemento oficialmente anunciado pelo hotel como comodidade da suíte, que aparece nas fotos da acomodação e que justifica, em parte, o valor cobrado.

Não foi possível utilizá-la. O sistema de aquecimento não foi capaz de fornecer água quente suficiente para encher a própria banheira do quarto que vocês oferecem e cobram.

Não abusamos do consumo. Não ficamos horas no chuveiro. Tomamos uma única ducha e saímos. Ao voltarmos, o sistema simplesmente não suportou o uso legítimo e básico da acomodação. Precisamos aguardar até as 8h da manhã do dia seguinte, nosso último dia de viagem e data de check-out para conseguirmos tomar um banho quente.

Adiciona-se a isso o fato de que, na manhã do check-out, a torneira da pia do banheiro apresentou pressão de água extremamente baixa, saía apenas um fio d’água, impossibilitando o uso adequado da pia. Mais um indício de que o problema não foi pontual, mas sim reflexo de uma falha estrutural e sistemática na infraestrutura hidráulica do hotel.

Primeiro fala que falam português, espanhol e inglês, mentira!
Fomos muito mal recebidos, não mostraram nem onde era o café da manhã, atendimento HORRÍVEL!
Hotel é lindo por fora, mas por dentro é velho, cheiro de mofo e não pega celular.
Não sei avaliar o café da manhã, pq entramos e saímos em menos de 1h, pois me senti muito mal atendida e fora que me senti muito mal pelo ambiente.
Fomos até o bar, apesar das mesas estarem todas vazias, não nos deixaram sentar pq estavam todas reservadas!

A hospedagem é perfeita! A cozinha atende adequadamente e os restaurantes são excelentes! Além disso, hospedar-se numa obra de arte é um conjunto de experiências singulares!!! Perfeito!!!!

Quarto limpo e em perfeitas condições. Tivemos imprevisto de faltar energia elétrica no hotel e o mesmo não tinha um plano de contingência para esse tipo de imprevisto, ficando sem luz inclusive nos corredores das escadas. O café da manhã foi servido, porém com menos opções e sem café quente. A hospedagem em geral foi boa. O hotel é muito bonito e com arquitetura diferenciada.

No geral, um excelente custo-benefício, pois se trata de uma escultura a céu aberto, com muita beleza natural, muita comodidade, 3 piscinas,sendo uma delas aquecida. Café da manhã mais restrito, contudo atende bem a necessidade.
A acomodação precisa de reparo e atualização: as duas tv's do quarto nãopegavam nada, não eram smart, nem canais normais.
O estacionamento era pago 25 dolares a diária, contudo foi tranquilo deixar na rua em frente.

Surpreendeu e muito as expectativas.É uma experiência!!! Passamos uma noite no apto de dois quartos e vale mto a pena.Apto enorme, dois quartos, dois andares e dois banheiros. Camas super confortáveis, muitos travesseiros. A vista é linda de todos os ângulos. O pór do sol tbm é lindo de qq lugar. Eu aconselho assistir do mirante que tem ao lado do restaurante da parte de baixo. 3 pscinas super limpas e ótimas. Vc ajnda consegue fazer um passeio em cima do mar no deck de pedra em frente ao gramado. Há dois restaurantes, um japonês na parte de cima e outro na parte de baixo. Ambos excelentes em termos de comida!!!! O atendimento do japonês é muito bom. Esquecino nome dobrapaz, super simpáticoque nos atendeu e até trouxe uns rolinhos primavera de cortesia absurdamente deliciosos. Em cima todos sãomuito solícitos! No de baixo precisa um.pouquinho de paciência. Mas, o Mario e o Ivan foram umas graças conosco. Se perder nos corredores é fácil e divertido. Não há uma lógica neles. Mas, vá aberto a vivenciar uma EXPERIÊNCIA. Ninguém vai carregar suas malas pelas escadas. Os quartos tem nomes e não números, vc dorme ouvindo o som do mar e acorda vendo sua imensidão maravilhosa. O check out é 10h mesmo, acorde cedo e desfrute da vista e delicioso café da manhã. Se for de carro, tem vaga infinita,gratuita e segura em frente ao hotel, com segurança 24h. Zero problema em deixar lá, mas o hotel tbm oferece há 25dolares. Não se atenha aos detalhes negativos, curta a experiência!!!

Maior dificuldade e levar as malas do carro ate a recepção.
Acho que vale a pena ficar pelo menos uma noite para conhecer.
