Historic, tranquil, beautifully renovated converted monastery with several on site restaurants serving delicious food. The breakfast spread is expansive and includes a warm menu an la carte and cold buffet, smoothies, coffee machines, and wines. The breakfast may be one of the many highlights. Our family also enjoyed the self guided tour of the monastery, cloisters and beautiful chapel for about €3 each. The valet and check in staff very friendly and receive guests with a glass of champagne. The monastery is located adjacent to the Duero River and there is a beautiful park between the river and property with a hiking trail. The town is quiet - almost looks abandoned so we just stayed on the property which was magnificent. Because there are steps throughout to access restaurants and even within floors it may be difficult for grandparents to maneuver.

Wonderful property, below verage service

A spectacular property in the midst of one of the great wine regions on the planet. The site and amenities, including the waters and spa, are wonderful. Unfortunately, the food and service, especially the food service, do not do justice to the site itself. If you have other lunch and dinner options, definitely use them (and there are many in the Ribera). The breakfasts are ok, not spectacular, and the food service in particular is subpar, not worthy of the magnificence of the property. Having to flag down waiters or be served ice cold eggs Benedict is not in keeping with these price points.

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property. Service was immaculate, from the reception, to the hotel porters everyone greeted us with a smile, they were all very attentive.
The hotel is probably one of the best we ever stayed in. The room was very spacious, modern and clean. Comfy bed.
The spa pool was very relaxing. I specially enjoyed the heated outside pool
We also had something to eat at the gastro bar. Cocktails were top notch and food was tasty.
I would go back. Highly recommended

This was the most luxurious place I’ve ever stayed. The room was immense with everything including free wine and minibar. The staff was super helpful. The thermal pool is a must and was so relaxing. The food at restaurant and the included breakfast were over the top wonderful. And at check-in we were fretted with champagne. Perfect respite on a busy itinerary.

While we enjoyed our stay, we felt that the service, amenities, and overall facilities were closer to a 4-star experience rather than 5-star. This was primarily due to a few smaller details. For instance, we had to park our own car after the initial check in and handle our own bags when checking out, even when a staff member saw my wife struggling and didn’t offer assistance. Additionally, the cleaning staff left the welcome snack plate in our room until the last day of our stay, and we found them to be quite loud in the hallway starting at 9 am, possibly due to poor insulation. We also felt that the quality of the food, particularly breakfast, could be improved, and that the hotel itself could benefit from some modernization.

Our visit to this old Monastery was fabulous such a Jewel. Stunning old building. Spa was excellent & lovely outdoor space. Ate In restaurant & food was excellent. On downside the sound proofing not excellent as lying in bed we could hear too clearly other people’s conversations & kids crying : sound seemed to echo around a lot.

Fabulous building, just a few elements that meant we wouldn’t rate it 5 star. Poor experience at check in despite the glass of complimentary wine because we had to wait 15 minutes to be seen, despite there being two desks and only one couple at one of them. Tea and coffee provided in room but no cups or spoons. Could never contact reception (dial 9) because it always eventually was answered by a recorded message.
The hotel provided complimentary bikes which was great but they need to be maintained better. There was an app whose functionality was questionable I.e.couldn’t book to eat. All in all a relaxing stay, staff were very good and keen to help, particularly Miguel and Andrea. We never used the Spa facilities so can’t comment and nobody mentioned the normal swimming pool to us so unfortunately I must guess that was closed. Food was excellent in parts but very average in others.

The experience is not really 5 stars.

We couldn’t smoke a cigar anywhere in the hotel supposedly because of government regulations when I saw staff smoking cigarettes in the back garden.

Sauna was charged on top of the room and none of the Gold Exclusive benefits were provided (only the 20% for Spa after mentioning it).

Great choice if you’re looking for a place to stay in Ribera del Duero, which doesn’t seem to have many options on the upscale side. Facilities are nicely kept and the property has a very peaceful and relaxing vibe in general. Breakfast was fantastic (the best we had during our entire two week trip). It included everything from a wide selection of local cheeses, artisanal yogurts, and a-la-carte options which were all included. Only recommendation would be to slightly increase the temperature of the thermal pool (not sure if I’m used to higher temperatures but the water just felt lukewarm).

The place is beautiful! Everything is wonderfully restored and the experience is unique. Starting at the beginning, check-in took a little longer than ideal, and we paid more for a room with a view of the vineyard. We did get a view, but nothing like the view they show online.
Food at the bar was okay, we got one of the salads and the egg pasta. Service was fast for how busy it was. We also got dinner at their restaurant. We were the second party seated for the night and it took over an hour and a half to get our food. The food was good. The bread they give you is not free. Unfortunately, there arent many other options for dining near the hotel.
The breakfast buffet was amazing! Traditional Spanish offerings, champagne to make your own mimosa, and made to order eggs, omelettes, etc. LOVED the breakfast.
The spa is cool, and outdoor hot pool is also unique. The smell of manure was a bit much for the morning swim. They didnt have the outdoor pool open. I understand its October but it also was 77 when we were there. I think having it open it have been reasonable.
Not terribly much to do in town. But you can take a glass of wine ans walk around the grounds. The view of the hotel from their vineyard is very pretty and you can walk along side the Duero River for a little while.
Overall great experience and would stay here again.

Nice hotel but smelly place.

The hotel and the facilities are excellent, breakfast outstanding and the hotel is perfectly located to explore Ribera del Duero. The only problem we encountered was lots of flys and a terrible smell. We ask and an employee told us that there was a pig farm nearby and some times in the summer they have that smell. I liked everything else, but very unlikely we will return.

Lovely hotel, if a little remote. The rooms were excellent as was the restaurant/food/bar and reasonably priced.Staff were attentive.The pool area had two tiers but only the bottom tier had umbrellas for shade.Access for disabled guests to the shaded area was impossible so could be improved by umbrellas at top portion. Also no refreshments by pool area which is poor for a 5 star hotel.

We stayed here on a road trip for one night. The hotel is amazing. It is an old monastery and they have kept a lot of the original features. The room was excellent (probably one of the best beds I've slept in). I will try and re-visit this hotel in the future. One night did not do it justice.

The hotel is spectacular and so are all the amenities. The suites are nice but the two floor duplex style is not well thought out. There is no phone on the ground floor, and for that matter that floor is useless, so you find yourself spending most of your time on the second floor (the bedroom) which then becomes small and dark. Downstairs there is a small sofa and no other furniture to sit and relax. The Bathroom upstairs has little privacy and it lacks a vanity mirror, which is customary in a hotel and room of this category. I do not recommend this style suite - the hotel has other single floor styles, demand that if you are looking for comfort and spending extra money for an upgrade from a regular room. Also found that the hotel appears to cater to families with small children, although in every picture it looks like an adult and romantic destination. I don’t mind children at all, but it was noticeable to find the significant amount of young children everywhere including the pool area. That did take away a bit from the spa experience.... spa and children don’t mix well.

Large, beautiful rooms near many vineyards in Ribera De Duero area. You can tell the hotel has so much history, truly a once in a wonderful experience.
I was hesitant to pay to go in the thermal pools, but WOW. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this. I was so relaxed and aches and pains that I was having in my back are completely gone.
The complimentary wine tour was done in Spanish only, so although we couldn't understand anything, we still did the tour and tasted their wines. Would have been nice to know from the front desk that it was in spanish, but oh well, still a fun experience.
Overall an amazing, unique, and beautiful experience we will never forget!

The staff are fantastic. My husband inquired about the hours of the little store across the street. The gentleman did not know but he went over to the store for the times. The front desk made wine tours and restaurant reservations for us. The hotel itself is historic and luxurious. Highly recommend this hotel and the great wine area.

Great Hotel in Ribera del Duero

Excellent hotel built inside a 1500's monastery, however the actual hotel accommodations are very modern, luxurious and spacious.
We spent two nights at the hotel and the service of all the personnel was superb, the restaurants inside the hotel were excellent with a very wide menu catering most of the local favorites including lechazo and bacalao.

Amazing hotel. We've stayed at many converted hotels (from palaces, castles, monasteries, etc) and this one by far has been the best. The only thing I didn't like was that they charge you for an audio tour of the property. I feel if you pay to stay at the hotel this should be included.
