Went with 2 friends and payed for the double couch bed. The room was dirty (blood stains on the couch, scratches on the bed,etc.). Staff was unpleasant even rude at times. Apparently they don't give any sets of spare linen and the front desk closes at 11 so me and my friend had to sleep without any pillows or blankets. Absolutely terrible experience if you want something on the beach there are plenty of better places in the area than this dump.

Great Hotel for independent traveller.

my last night in Israel was finished watching the sunset from my balcony at Arena by the Beach. beautiful sea-front location with spacious, well furnished suite. the staff were friendly and helpful even though it was a little busy at check in. unfortunately I wasn't able to stay for the breakfast but I had a wonderful evening and a much-needed rest. thank you so much for the hospitality!

this is the review I would have written if the devastating events that are currently unfolding had not occurred. my heart is broken to see what is happening right now in Israel and my prayers are with you and your families. the love and warmth and friendliness I was shown on my trip is in stark contrast to the horror of these terror attacks.

The pool was nice. But it closed at 6:00 pm - sunset was at 7:40. And it did not open untill 11:00 am which was checkout.
We arrived at 2:35 pm. Met a person at the deak who told us that check in was at 3:00 pm - which was true. She told us that our reservation was for two nights. That was incorrect- it was for one night. She barked at us to sit down as check in is at 3:00. At 3:10 we knocked on the door. She said a room is not ready and promptly left as her shift was done. Someone else came and had to start over. A room was not avaliable until 4:00 pm. No compensation was offered or given for the delay.
The breakfast was bare. The food choice was quite limited. Someone was making what seem to be omelets - but had no fillings ie cheese, mushrooms, onions etc. so he was making egg rings in iul. Everything else was premade.
They did not have regular coffee - just instant and through a machine.
The air conditioning in the room did work well. The room was quite dated. There was no service, bellhop, concierge etc.

The property was filthy and the rooms and hallways smelled like smoke. The swimming pool area looked like a listeria breeding ground. There were homeless people squatting in the hotel. Something was wrong with the fan and it sounded like an aircraft was in my room so could not sleep.

Fix It Up or Close It Up!

This place is in a nice location - across the street from the beach. Restaurants etc nearby. Staff is friendly and tried to be helpful.

But the facility is falling apart and needs a renovation, or they should get out of the business.

Our reserved suite with a sofa bed in the living area had 2 chairs instead, which could not be coupled into any sleeping arrangement. We requested a room change, but that room had a broken sofa bed with no linens and none available until the next day. It was VERY uncomfortable for my son to try to sleep.

The next day they tried to fix it, but a severe lump remained which caused him a backache the following day.

Other problems: shower head not working. No phone in the room. Construction scaffolding abounds but no visible work in progress. Room key didn't work longer than a few hours without needing to be reset.

Staff tried to be helpful but can't make up for a facility that is falling apart.

Great Staff... Amazing General Manager... even the live in tenants are Amazing... there’s a sense of family and Unity which makes you feel welcomed... I’ve stayed at Grand Court in Jerusalem and great Dead Sea Hotels... but this Hotel is an Amazing find... and under 200 a night... it’s a great deal for the city life and beachfront property

Leonardo suits in Bat Yam need serious improvemen!

I stayed in Leonardo Suite from September 12 trough 16th, 2019. The location is great! Lots restaurants , markets and beautiful beach! The room is good size. Cable TV with lots of options. The breakfast was mediocre, lots of food but not tasty. The lobby is very small and overall doesn’t have inviting atmosphere. The mattress and pillows are terrible! They should work on improvements since the location is great.

The pool and beach view were the two reasons I chose this hotel. I checked in a little after 5:00pm and was informed that the pool was already closed, and though I paid extra for a beach view I did not get that (though that may be an expedia iasue and not a hotel issue). The room itself was very clean and nice. You just had to cross the street to access the beach.

We never requested a multilevel room as we have a 4 year old and that is what we received. The room was in terrible condition, dirty and cigarette burns on couch as well as curtain. Hotel is not very well cleaned overall. Location however in proximity to the beach is great.

We booked a hotel in Bat Yam We arrived there at after a day in Dead Sea
The receptionist asked if we received a phone call from the hotel with a change since they were sold out we were assigned to another hotel from the company 28 min from there No calls received and no further options given We arrived to the other hotel late air conditioning did not work in the room and was not fixed after several calls and attempts
Left the hotel very tired ready for a fight back of 15 hours We do not recommend the hotel Nice area but poor administration

It’s an extremely tall building, nice clean rooms and spacious showers, right in front of the beach. The pool hours suck they open at 10 and and close at 530p water is too cold anyway. Beach water is warmer. Their daily full breakfast buffet is delicious well worth your buck considering how expensive food is in Israel. Parking is limited but plan your day accordingly and you shouldn’t have a problem.

Nothing was unique i had to almost clean my room go get my own towel. They did not clean the rooms 2 days . I did not sleep in the room fir two nights and they never went in to do the room so i went downstairs to complain and finally they sent someone.
It was probably the worst hotel i ever stayed in my life plus expedia made an error inthe Reservation, they put us in the wrong location in a different city away from the wedding we went to Israel for, and then they could not swich us. It was horrible.

The onsite parking is a huge plus in Israel and the breakfast was decent at well. However, you should arrive early as the hot food gets cold. The building is old and showing its ago so don't expect modern but it was decent for it's price. The staff is very friend and helpful.

Keep in mind that this is the middle east and is not what most westerners are accustomed to. But having traveled the Middle East a lot, this is a decent place to stay.

Great place to stay, beautiful hotel with amazing views of the ocean. Price is right as compared to Tel Aviv, much better choice for those who wish to stay right on the ocean. Tel Aviv and Jaffa just a short cab ride away. We actually walked to Jaffa. The walk in either direction on the Bat Yam Promenade is gorgeous. Plenty of great restaurants and cafes walking distance on main strip. The Israeli breakfast served on the 7th floor is exceptional. Don't miss it. My wife and I loved our stay and will make this our go-to spot when staying in the Tel Aviv Metro area.

Nice hotel by the sea.

We stay here when visiting our family. This is a great location across the street from the beach and boardwalk. Many restaurants nearby and much less crowded than tel Aviv. Nearly every room has a balcony that looks out over the beach and sea. Outstanding breakfast buffet and can get eggs to order too. Rooms are simply furnished and roomy. Free parking garage.

Enjoyed being upgraded to a big, comfy room. The overall feel of the hotel is pretty fatiqued and a bit old. Maintainance not always good, but crew was friendly and did they're best to help. Breakfast was generous.

The hotel is in very poor condition. We got there after 24 hours of travel from the US... the water in the shower is totally brown. We asked to be moved to a different room and they changed our room to another room (smaller than what we paid for) that didn't have hot water! The next day they moved us to another room that totally smelled like cigarette smoke and had the same brown water in the shower problem. We cancelled our reservation that day and will never come back to this shabby excuse for a hotel!

The Front Desk Staff were very resourceful, I attained detailed information on directions to several supermarkets,shopping area to include accurate detailed direction to public transportation to Jerusalem. The Manager Mr. Hamon was courteous, accommodating and genuinely kind and pleasant. Thank you Mr. Hamon for a memorable visit. I have nut allergy and Mr. Hamon instructed the Chef to advise me of every item on the extravagantly delicious breakfast menu, which contained nuts. The breakfast dinning room has a spectacular view of the ocean with a lovely hammock swing and a indoor and out door pool. My room was clean, large, conveniently furnished with a microwave, electric kettle, large coach, and a balcony. A delightful experience was the continuous view of the beautiful beach even while lying in bed. Approximate to the hotel is the Belfort Street shopping area, a vast diversity of small restaurants which are open pass midnight, pastry and ice cream shops, a gym stationed on the beach, and a 24 hour grocery store immediately next door. My sister and I enjoyed all the attributes of this lovely atmosphere, we will be back.

I liked the location of the hotel - right on the beach, but the photos I saw on-line are not a true representation of the hotel. It could be cleaner - I faced a cockroach in the bathroom one evening, bed didn't have a mattress pad, just a sheet over the mattress, and maids don't clean rooms regularly. But the staff we nice and pleasant, tried to be helpful. This hotel could be great, but not quite there yet.

One area for improvement: housekeeping consistently forgot to leave the full complement of towels, which was mildly annoying, but it afforded me the opportunity to become acquainted with the front desk staff and hotel manager who all did a fine job to ensure my stay was pleasant.

Hotel has a great location - right on beach front, close to all the restaurants, supermarket next door. Breakfast is good, roof top pool is great. Our room had the most beautiful views from the bedroom and balcony.

The only think I would feedback for improvement would be the communal hallways are a little bit dated and uninspiring and the roof top area could be cleaner and smarter with just a lick of white paint, cleaning the glass and floor and some plant pots! It has such great views it would be an instagram dream with just a bit more effort!

This hotel is either undergoing renovations on some floors or it is in terrible condition on floors below 7.
Cleanliness was inadequate; the rooms were never cleaned before 4 om in the afternoon; the halls were dirty and what is most terrible, there was no English-language information about anything in the hotel itself or in the area.
The hotel serves mainly a Russian-speaking clientele or locals.
The only good things were the breakfasts and the 7th floor pool and the views. But I will not go there if I can help it.

Beautiful location across from the beach with lovely views outside window. Bat Yam is a 10-15 minute taxi ride from Old Jaffa and seems to be an up and coming area. Much less expensive than staying in Tel Aviv and just as beautiful. Lots of good places to eat, parks and beach walks. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodated our request for late check out. Included breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend!

very nice hotel . It took us 5 min to check in . Staff was very friendly and they speak multiple languages. Our room was very nice and clean . There was a little kitchen with the sofa , tv , table and chairs . There was a balcony in our bedroom with the sea and city view . Comfortable bed and tv in the bedroom made our stay even better! The beach is across the road

Good hotel in Bam Yat

This is a good hotel in Bam Yat which is a few miles outside of Tel Aviv. There are good bus connections and it is a pleasant walk of about an hour.

The hotel is clean but could do with some investment to come up to modem standards. The staff are top quality and keen to help.

Single worst hotel experience in Israel ever

Everything about this hotel is problematic: understaffed; rooms in terrible condition; towels threadbare; hotel pool full of pigeons; food mediocre; no business lounge (\"for flight attendants only\"); electricity went out several times in our room; loud guests in hallways with children running around (had to call the police at one point when the front desk did nothing). Do not stay here.

Staff very friendly, always there to answer queries. Very close to the beach, which is nice, and close to bars and restaurants.

Only criticism is the use of safes. Please ensure they are adequately maintained (For example check batteries are fully powered before the next guest arrives.

You get what you pay for

The first thing to know is that the front desk staff was simply amazing. Merav was helpful, friendly, and aided us in innumerable ways. The room was clean and comfortable but far from luxurious. No bell staff to help with bags - had to drag them up from garage by myself. The pool closed as we arrived so we had some very disappointed kids. We only stayed one night before heading to the airport and it was totally sufficient for that. They also let all four of us stay in one room which most Israeli hotels don't do. That said, we wouldn't stay here for a while vacation. But it served our purpose for the one night.

Nice hotel close to the beach

The hotel is located right by the beach front of Bat Yam, few minutes drive to Tel Aviv and near restaurants. Although the room I received was not the Jr suit I paid for, the staff was nice and made efforts to make our stay more pleasent. Avner at the front desk and Zehavit (aka Goldie) provided excellent customer service. The room had an amazing balcony with great view. I was born and raised in this town and would recommend Leonardo Bat Yam as the best hotel in Bat Yam today.

Not even close to 5 starts. Maybe 5 out of 50.

I had the sense that this was a bad choice just from entering the garage. It was dark, had empty beer bottles and smelled like hot urine. The hotel itself wasn't much better. My first room smelled odd. I went to wash my hands when brown water started coming out of the tap. I let it run for a while in case they had recently done some work. It did not get better. Same coming from the shower tap (hot water). So, they tried putting me in the room next door. Same issue. Then a room a floor below. Same issue. This time I had enough. I wanted 'out'. Based on the three rooms I saw, the photos posted on Expedia are either a different hotel or they simply upgraded one room just for taking marketing photos. This hotel was very old, and very worn.

Nice Hotel close to many restaurants and bars.

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Zehavit, Gal and Denit do all they can to make sure that all your needs are met. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel did not have the room type we reserved. We needed to add money to get a small suit.
Many necessities were not provided and towels were not changed daily.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our twelve night stay. The location of the hotel was excellent, being right by the beach and near to a selection of restaurants. We enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool and relaxing on the sun loungers which overlooked the sea. The breakfast was tasty and substantial. There was a comfortable tub/shower combination in the bathroom which was useful for a family with children, the living room was spacious and it was nice that our suite had two balconies where we could sit and relax. Although the rooms would benefit from some refurbishment they were still comfortable and we plan to stay at the hotel again in the near future.

Nice Hotel close to the beach

The hotel was close to the beach and the gym facility was pretty sweet since hotel guest were allowed to use the local gym the hotel had a partnership with. The downfall is that the hotel pool was closed for renovation on the deck, and when my wife and I wanted to see the sunset/sunrise from the deck pool on the 6th floor the hotel staff would not even let us go out on the deck for what we were asking at least 15 minutes. Other than that, the lodging location was a great location away from all the tourist crowds and closer in with the locals.

Great location, awesome breakfast!

Great hotel away from the noise of tel aviv but close enough to enjoy the city. Got upgraded to a Deluxe suite for no extra cost. Great view of the beach and the breakfast was really great. Would recommend to everyone.

Nice hotel close to the beach

We generally liked the hotel. The staff was helpful and pleasant. It is fairly typical of beach hotels - tile and wood floors, minor corrosion of metal fixtures. Good view of the beach and a very short walk across the street to the beach. The room had a couple of very minor maintenance issues but was clean. I was surprised that a hotel of this caliber did not have a hair dryer. The included breakfast was bountiful and excellent, typical of the region with lots of fresh foods and a few hot dishes. This part of the beach is not as nice as the beach further north in Tel Aviv and did not offer much in the way of decent restaurants. It is convenient and safe.
