Great hotel as very clean and staff is wonderful. Breakfast is really good with lots of choices. TV could be updated to a smart one and the bed could be a little more comfortable but it did not stop us from enjoying our time in Rome.

I came with my daughter to visit the Vatican. This hotel is very well located.
Close to everything.
Breakfast was very good.
Whilst it could be great, the decor was quite tired and needs refurbishment. The paint on the woodwork was quite chipped here and there.
The regular rooms are pretty tiny so we upgraded to a larger room.
The kettle was broken.
And there was no moisturizer and no face towels which was odd for a 4 star hotel.

The room was very clean and well presented, and the staff were consistently helpful and friendly throughout my stay. However, I did notice that the milk provided in the room was expired. Although this was addressed quickly, the staff replaced it promptly and offered a sincere apology. it did affect the initial impression of the room amenities.

I would recommend implementing stronger attention to detail during room checks to ensure that all items, particularly perishable ones, are up to date. This small improvement would help maintain the high standard of service and enhance the overall guest experience.

3 star hotel at best

Booked our final night here before departing Rome! While the location this hotel is fine - overall i felt it was very outdated and could quite a bit of TLC. Our room had peeling wallpaper in many spots (bathroom, main room, sitting area, chipped furniture and a very firm/uncomfortable mattress.

The breakfast buffet was fine - but would have preferred more fresh options and easier access to coffee (one machine to make which took quite a while). They had eggs to boil (8-10 min process) and then breads, pastries, meats, etc.

Check in and check out was easy but felt rushed The morning of checkout we requested a taxi to the airport (about a later) and while confirmed for a time pickup - it was nearly 30 min late with no communication from staff. We had to follow up repeatedly with front desk (and was told 1 min away, 5 min away, 10 min away and had to keeping checking in until the taxi finally arrived 30+ min later for our airport travel.

Not sure i would classify this as a 4 star - I’d say 3 star at best. Overall, our experience fell flat and I would not recommend given price.

It’s a very nice property. The highlight for us was the spacious suite we received as an upgrade. It had two bathrooms, a king bed, and a sofa bed in two separate rooms. They also provided plenty of extra blankets and pillows without having to ask, which I really appreciated. It was very hot, and we looked forward to going back to air-conditioned rooms at the end of the day. After six weeks of traveling around Europe, we were exhausted and slept very well here. It's closer to Vatican city but quite a bit of a walk to rest of the tourist attractions. We liked the quiet neighborhood, there was a bus stop close by.

Sofa bed could have been more comfortable. It can be set up as either a single or a double. I preferred the double, but housekeeping always made it as a single, which felt too narrow for comfort, so I readjusted it myself before sleeping.

Reception staff handled requests efficiently, but interactions felt matter-of-fact. It was professional, but we missed a bit of warmth—there were no smiles or pleasantries exchanged.

This hotel was not conveniently located near anything. While the service was just okay, I will say the staff who helped with our luggage were wonderful—very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. Breakfast was mediocre at best; they actually served burnt scrambled eggs and offered very limited options. To make matters worse, I had booked a suite and the welcome fruit bowl provided was rotten. Overall, I would not stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Every detail was taken care of, spacious elegant room for 4 people, comfortable beds, loads of extras including bathroom toiletries, robes, slippers, and a welcome bottle of bubbly. Excellent staff throughout the hotel. Excellent bar and Bartender. Wonderful breakfast. My hard to impress family was Impressed! Superb seafood restaurant next door. Excellent late night pizza restaurant up the street. Very safe area with high end hotels. Excellent location for walking to sites and front desk calls taxis fast and easy. This may be the best hotel in Rome! If you have a chance to stay at this hotel Do It! You won’t be disappointed. Hotel Mellini was one of our favorite parts of our 3 day stay in Rome.

The hotel is cute and in a location where you can walk to nearby restaurants and attractions. The only problem I have is that the pictures that come up when you search this property are misleading. It is not a big castle. It does not have fancy steps with beautiful flowers around it. I was disappointed when I first arrived. But the staff is great, the hotel clean and the room comfortable.

The room was very spacious, good bathroom, limited room service, but the best thing was the Seafood restaurant right in the same sidewalk of the Hotel:, best restaurant we ever been in Rome so it was worth overall staying there .

Our recent stay at Hotel Dei Mellini in Rome provided an overall delightful experience, ideal for any tourist seeking to explore the city. The accommodation came highly recommended and did not disappoint, with its convenient location and amenities. The breakfast options were satisfactory, catering to our basic needs before starting our day.

However, one aspect that could be improved is the transportation service suggested by the hotel. The recommended airport taxi company, Welcome Pickups, charged us twice the standard fare, and the service was subpar, with a vehicle that was not adequately equipped to accommodate all passengers and their luggage comfortably. This was a notable inconvenience and an area where the hotel could consider offering better alternatives to ensure a seamless experience for their guests.

My family started our 3 city vacay in Rome, and this was the best hotel of the three we stayed in. Great service, very clean, and the suites were outstanding (pleasantly surprised they each had 2 bathrooms)!

We really enjoyed the quiet of the Prati neighborhood. Especially after dealing with the crowds all day at the landmarks. Prato also has some great dining options in walking distance.

The location of this hotel is great for site seeing as it is walkable to all main attractions. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are as you would expect, beds comfortable.
There was no aircon which meant the room was very hot! We asked at reception for it to be turned on but was told it was winder so would only heat the rooms. When we opened a window our room was then filled with the smell of cigarettes as the central court yard is used for smoking and seems to trap the smell. It was also very noisy with the window open as the court yard being small and enclosed also channels noise! So we didn’t sleep very well sadly. I’m sure if the weather hadn’t been so warm for February (20 degrees) and/or the aircon on we would have been fine.
Breakfast was the standard European breakfast. If we were visiting again we would probably not add breakfast and head to a cafe instead.
Overall I would say this is a nice hotel to provide the good base for visiting a wonderful city.

Overall I really like this hotel. It's location was pretty good as Rome is so big there's no real central place that would be perfect. The breakfast was really good and the bar was great for wrapping up a day of touring. The closest thing to a complaint was the bed was a bit hard, but I found that to be the case with all the hotels we stayed in in Italy. I'd happily stay at this hotel again if I go back.

This hotel was within walking distance to many of the tourist locations, most specifically the Vatican. Check in , check out was quick. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and the breakfast each day had a nice variety of items. Bell service staff was so helpful with our luggage and in calling a taxi for us when needed. We would definitely stay here again.

The desk personnel happily made dinner reservations, arranged for a taxi, arranged purchase of next-day Vatican Museum tickets when they appeared sold out online. Extraordinary service. Genuinely helpful. The room was amazing too. Exceptionally clean and well designed bathroom. I have found my go to hotel in Rome.

Good location near Vatican side of Rome and able to walk to all places of interest within 30 minutes. Breakfast good but wasn’t able to get it included on day of arrival when we came early and room not ready and for 3 days and price thought that was strange. Clean throughout. Bartender was very service oriented and friendly! Nice area to relax after long day. Didn’t like the tub shower with only 1 side swinging glass door that was hard to shower with but managed. Bed mattress not best/worst but pillows could be better.
