We had a lovely stay at the First Arte Hotel and enjoyed the area and a Italy to walk everywhere. The hotel is gorgeous with a rooftop linge and restaurant. We had the suite which was extremely well designed and luxurious. At the end of a long day we enjoyed rh peaceful and quiet room. The staff are gracious and warm—Gianfranca and Alex were lovely! The entire office team are exceptional. We cannot recommend the hotel and experience enough for families or a romantic getaway. Grazie!!

Staying at First Arte in Florence was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, elegance, and an exceptional level of service that made us feel both at home and incredibly pampered.

Every detail, from the curated art to the plush linens, spoke of thoughtfulness and refined taste. Our room was a sanctuary: quiet, immaculately clean, and filled with natural light, offering a peaceful retreat after exploring the city.

The location is unbeatable—just steps away from Florence’s historic heart, yet tucked into a quiet street that offered rare tranquility. We were minutes from the Duomo, the Uffizi, and the Ponte Vecchio, yet felt like we were in our own hidden corner of the city.

The staff deserves special praise. Attentive without being intrusive, they anticipated our needs with grace and provided wonderful recommendations that helped us experience Florence like locals.

I stayed in 3 hotels during my time in Rome. My husband had a medical emergency so we were not able to fly back when initially planned. I wanted to extend my stay here but unfortunately they were all booked out so had to go somewhere else. The staff went above and beyond our entire stay. If I ever come back to Rome this is where I will stay. It was by far the best of the 3 hotels we stayed.

They are really willing to help and do their best.
There is strange system with A/C and heating. Now it is only for heating and it's not possible to regulate the temperature. We slept with the opened window but it was still too hot.
Location is nice, we walked everywhere we wanted.

The staff here is amazing. When we checked in, everyone was so nice. They gave us a sightseeing game plan for our three days in Rome with recommendations for gelato and pizza places. They also made dinner reservations for us at a couple of fantastic restaurants. The room was terrific, spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. My only minor issue was a little noise at night from the restaurant below. I would ask for a higher room next time. The hotel location was great, walking distance to the sights and shopping, but located on a small quiet street. I would stay here next time in Rome.

Great Location and Staff, but not 5 Star

This is a boutique hotel near the Piazza del Popolo. The junior suite was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a bath with a very nice shower.

The staff was excellent and was very attentive. They made excellent recommendations and reservations for dinner.

There were two issues I had with the hotel: 1) was the air conditioning and 2) noise at night.
The cooling/heating system was an all or nothing option. Rome was unseasonably warm. When I arrived the heating system was on and the room was 25c or 77 degrees. Because the air was not on, the only way to cool the Rome was to open the window. At night the window could not remain open because of the noise from a service courtyard. After 2 days, I complained that this system was unacceptable and they turned on the air conditioning, which also helped with the noise issue.

Unfortunately my last night they again turned on the heating system. To me in a 5 star hotel it’s fundamental that you ought to be able to control the temperature in your own room. Not being able to, is not an option.

Wonderful location and great room. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Concierge was great with dinner reservations. In room coffee and snacks were appreciated. Breakfast and bar are great. Only issue was the roof deck was closed and we were not informed of this prior to arrival despite booking a dinner on the roof. Overall I would strongly recommend this hotel as an excellent choice in Rome.

The First Roma is simply perfection. Perfection in comfort, perfection in location, perfection in staff and amenities. This hotel was beyond my expectations and I loved every minute of my stay. The staff was wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The room was absolutely beyond. The comfort, the size, the bedding, the bed, everything was just fantastic. On a quiet street near all of the major attractions. Safe & quiet.
excellent breakfast. Staff were most courteous and also spoke English.
The rooftop bar restaurant has wonderful views. Villa Bourghese is lovely to run through and is steps away as is Piazza del Poplo.

Top class boutique hotel in central Rome

We stayed here for our first night in the junior honeymoon suite, complete with our own private terrace, view of the city and private Jacuzzi. Staff was top notch, treated us to complimentary champagne upon our arrival and checkin, always attended to our needs when we called. Room itself was gorgeous and multi-level and felt more like a modern studio apartment than hotel room.

Excellent restaurants in both the lobby level and rooftop area, great for getting drinks or food and enjoying the view especially in the evening.

We had a lovely 5 day stay at The First Roma. This hotel was in a perfect location for shopping and restaurants and within walking distance to many major sites. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were beautifully appointed and comfortable. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was exceptional! Highly recommend The First Roma and will certainly stay here again when we return to Rome.

Very nice hotel and great location

The hotel is very modern and is nicely designed. The rooms are of a good size (we had a hot tub suite) and decorated/maintained to a high standard. There is also a nice bar downsides and restaurant (although we did not eat in the restaurant). The hotel is extremely central and we walked to all the major attractions. My only criticism is that the decking outside, where the hot tub was, had several broken and very damaged boards. For the amount of money you are paying I don't find that very acceptable.

In the centre of Rome

A few things let this place down, overpricing was the main issue, the staff was great in till there was a party on roof terrace got offered up there by the bar manager then on the day he completley ignored us sat at the bar being ignored whilst he was serving people that wasnt even staying at the hotel and we pushing in front of me which he clearly saw so told a member of staff he then decided to serve us. Reason we went there for in the first place was for my girlfriends birthday which they done something nice by leaving a birthday cake for her in the room, which we were very happy with but then the hot water didnt work on shower, which took them 2hours to fix then decided to move us, we missed are reservation at hard rock cafe. Wouldnt stay again, or visit rome as it very boring after a day or two, plus the people in Rome are very rude and for that reason i will not be visting again. Vatican city was good though, worth going for a day to see that, apart from that sack it off!

Looks can be deceiving

Don't let the location on a narrow street fool you.. Pampering begins as you walk through the door. From sitting in comfy chairs, warm towels to clean your hands, and a drink of your choice, while you check in.

Only stayed one night but will definitely return to enjoy all the features of the hotel. Great location for sightseeing, we were able to do the major sites and eat a fabulous dinner in 7 hours. All recommendations and directions from the receptionist.

We booked this hotel based on excellent reviews we had read and were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a little side street but right in the heart of the city and so close to all the main attractions. So much so that we walked everywhere during our 4 night stay.
The hotel itself is relatively small - less than 30 rooms. The staff are so helpful and at check-in the care and attention was exceptional including the time taken to talk you through recommendations for your stay and to show you around the hotel.
There are 2 lovely resteraunts to choose from although we didn't try them only because we were out and about so much.
Our room was lovely, very tastefully decorated and clean, spacious and comfortable.
We would highly recommend this hotel for those who want a peaceful stay in a great location and in very comfortable suroundings.

great little boutique hotel

This is an almost fantastic hotel but unfortunately it doesn't quite make it. It is in a good location, in walking distance of most main sites and attractions, it has good well appointed rooms and an awesome rooftop bar/restaurant. So what is wrong. The hotel was let down by silly things like not replacing face towels despite being asked for them every time we returned to the room wanting a shower. Other toiletries were removed and not replaced as well. I went to the lobby bar for a drink and 20 minutes later no one had come to serve me. None of this is what I expect from a top class hotel that charges top dollar. Having said that, it is a lovely hotel and the staff are wonderfully friendly. I'm so sad that I couldn't give it 5-stars because it should have been easy. If you don't stay here I advise you to go to the rooftop bar. Very enjoyable place to enjoy cool music and a drink overlooking the rooftops of Rome.

A fantastic hotel with excellent staff!

From the moment we walked in the door the welcome at First Luxury was exemplary and this continued throughout our stay. Our airline left our bags and we did not get them for four days but the hotel was excellent, following up, keeping track and ensuring that we were okay. The room, upgraded from a Junior Suite, was beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel has the advantage of a quiet street in a great location with walking access to many of Rome's best attractions.

All in all an excellent stay... one of our best.

well we were somewhat underwhelmed by this hotel. we paid around 450 euros per night for a 4 night stay in a nice suite but they didn't even throw in a breakfast for this!! and the in-room breakfast menu was very expensive and the wifi dreadful (although on one day they informed us they were upgrading the system so it may be better now). it is nowhere near the pleasure of staying at other similarly priced hotels. the receptionist, Mereum was fantastic though and a delight to deal with, as was Alessandro the barman at their rooftop bar/restaurant and the ever-smiling doorman. HOWEVER we had an awful, totally inedible steak (each!) at the rooftop restaurant on one night and ok they agreed not to charge us for that course but to my mind a hotel of this class should have credited the whole meal and wine as some sort of compensation for spoiling our entire evening and it is for this reason we will never return. oh and by the way the rooftop bar needs a DJ and decks!!

However, everything else made up for it and I would definitely stay there again. The bed was comfortable. Ask for different pillows if you don't like the ones on the bed. Was looking for a good hotel when booking. This on fitted the bill in the reviews and images.
Room was reasonably spacious considering it was a queen size bed. Sky tv, safe, mini bar and even a multi socket charging station for you electronic devices. Thy also gave you each a bottle of water each day.
Bathrrom was clean and reasonable size with a walkin shower, toilet, sink and bday.
Room was cleaned in the day but also straightened in the evening... They even supplied slippers.
The \"art\" side was not an issue.... Not really into art but whilst it was everywhere it was also not in your face. Some weird art hanging on the walls and such but I soon forgot it was there.
Reception staff were very helpful, suggested restaurants and how to visits some attractions etc, they really did seem to have time for you.

We didn't use the restaurant at all so cannot comment on that side.

Never stay anywhere else!

This was my 6th trip to Rome, The 1st Luxury Art Hotel is the BEST ever!
#1 The Staff was incredible! Friendly, Helpful and Intelligent.
#2 The Suite was off the chart.....featuring a Hot Tub - we used it daily!
#3 The location is perfect for 1st timers and veterans alike.
We will return!

Luxurious quiet and convenient

A lovely modern hotel in easy walking distance of all the main sights in the historic district. The staff were very helpful, booked an excellent local restaurant. No noise from the quiet side street. We would definitely go back next time in Rome.
