Terrible experience here. The electricity in the hotel did not work at all. Lights were flickering all day and night long. AC shuts off, TV and wifi would die and not work throughout the whole stay. They need to update this dated hotel. Very dissatisfied. completed ruined a would be calming few nights away with my partner....

I don’t always write reviews, but in this case I just had to, cause I can’t recommend this absolutely beautiful place enough. I’ve been an avid traveller for 40 years, stayed in plenty of top hotels, and this place is easily in my top five of all time. The surroundings look like a postcard, the place itself is beyond idyllic, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Food was great too, especially the breakfast. The whole experience was magical, romantic and wonderful. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Also don’t miss a visit to the nearby little town of Castillina in Chianti. So cute! Plenty of wineries nearby too, including right up the road, ask for recommendations from the staff. We hope to be back someday!

We’ve been touring Italy for two weeks now and the Belvedere San Leonino is by far my favorite of all the wonderful hotels we’ve stayed. Absolutely charming rooms, sprawling countryside grounds and expansive views, friendly staff, and a nice restaurant for dinner. I was hoping the tasting room was on site, but even better, it’s inside the wall of Castellina in Chianti — you don’t want to miss a tasting there! If I find my way back to Italy in the future, I will definitely return to Belvedere! Grazie Mille!

First of all, the location, the staff and the food were all top notch!
I thought it would be the quietest place on earth to get a good night of sleep after the craziness of Rome. Unfortunately there were some dogs barking all night in the field in front of our room and I didn’t get any sleep. Bring ear plugs if you stay there.

This hotel is a paradise for tranquility and peace. Located in an extremely beautiful area with surrounding views of the Tuscan wineries this beautiful, traditional and super clean hotel is everything one needs if they want to detach from the world. Congratulations especially to the cleaning ladies and the people who keep the grounds so pristine.
The restaurant people are very nice and the food and wine are delicious… Irine drone reception is the best and oh breakfast is yum!!!

If you’re looking to get away from it all, this is the place for that. Cozy rooms, great dinners out in the garden and a pool with a beautiful view of the county side. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Living the Tuscany Dream

What a great property! We stayed in one of the rooms connected to the main building. We also got to see a room for three. Both were spacious. Decorated in tuscany country style. Bed was comfortable. Each room has it’s own AC. We were there in April so the AC worked great. Can’t speak for summer heat. The views of the Tuscany area were jaw dropping. It felt like we were in a villa not a hotel. Highly recommend. Breakfast was standard euro fare (1000% better than in the U.S.) with meats, cheeses, bacon, an amazing variety of croissants, etc. Pool on site. Restaurant on site that was simply outstanding. We went there several nights and each night had something different and spectacular. Reserve a table in the morning the day of. Easy drive to get here and close to amenities. However, car recommended to get around.

This small hotel was lovely. The location is remote, but it’s a perfect base for traveling all around this part of Tuscany. The breakfast was wonderful -well worth the extra charge. We had dinner at the property one evening.The setting is beautiful and the food was excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful with anything we needed. I would come here again.

Heaven in Tuscany

Oh wow, perfect vacation and a real Tuscany atmosphere, the hotel is a magical old yet perfectly renovated property, the room was amazingly clean and equipped with everything we needed, the pool was open until 8pm and it’s never crowded, very peaceful area, almost like a fantasy movie, breakfast was great, especially the cheese , local pastries and coffee , the staff was lovely, very friendly and helpful, but the real deal was DINNER , I cannot say enough about the food and wine they make, everything is fresh and cooked to perfection, we had dinner there every night, you can even see the sunset while eating, BEAUTIFUL !! We highly recommend this hotel , thank you a million times for a perfect vacation 🙏

The pictures of this property were so deceptive and it is not a castle in anyway. It’s a small property with a few rooms. The suite that they gave me was two bedroom, two bathroom, big spacious rooms but had a strong musty moldy smell. The best part of a stray was the breakfast the next day.

What a wonderful experience. The hotel is in the middle of the mountains and was serene and beautiful. The rooms are so quaint and clean , felt like we were back in time...the views stunning ! Sit by the pool at sunset with wine, its a sight to be seen..They do serve a nice dinner too that was good and atmosphere even better...The staff was amazing..esp the two young bartenders that filled my wine glass high at my request !! all the reception girls were so nice and so helpful....Nadia, Chrstinian and Yurra I believe were their names....they helped us so much before we arrived too since we were not coming by car and helped us with renting our vespa AND even drove us to go pick it up .....THIS IS TRULY A SPECIAL PLACE and we were so happy to end our Italy trip in this serene beautiful place....

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days and really enjoyed our time. This hotel is a total gem and exceeded our expectations. The rooms are spacious and comfortable (with AC). The pool is amazing... being surrounded by the Chianti countryside, vineyards and olive trees is so relaxing. The on-site restaurant is fabulous. We ate there during sunset. The melted pecorino cheese with black truffles was unbelievable! The breakfast buffet is great too. The staff is very sweet and helpful- they helped us arrange an awesome winetasting experience. Ask about Azienda Agricola Rocca and you won’t be disappointed! There’s parking on site, daily housekeeping, all Covid safety precautions helped us to feel safe throughout our stay too. Highly recommend and would return again in a heartbeat.

Amazing old world building on a hill top surrounded by vineyards and olive tree groves with well cared for garden areas, scenic pool and off-street parking. Very good breakfast buffet and dinner. A relaxing stay in a beautiful setting

The hotel is set in the middle of the Tuscan hills and is perfect for a relaxing break. The restaurant is lovely for dinner and the breakfast options are very good. It is well connected to local villages on the heart of Chianti and all of the staff are knowledgeable about the area and what to do. The room was always clean and everyone wis very friendly. A lovely hotel and one that we will be returning to next time we’re in Tuscany.

Wonderful stay, stunning scenery, great buffet breakfast, restaurant on site and beautiful pool for summer. Central location to Siena, San Gimignano. But have to drive to go anywhere outside the hotel, need care to drive at night on windy roads. Great for a 1-2 day stop or if you only want to relax. Would stay again if passing through, but our preference is to stay at a place where we can walk or a very short drive to other restaurants or sites.

I loved our stay here. My only regret is that we stayed for just the one night. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was fabulous. The staff are extremely attentive and I cannot find any fault whatsoever. Prior to (and post) dinner we had some drinks in the hotel bar. This was very comfortable and there is a full menu of drinks available.

Lovely small hotel, a bit away from Siena

Wonderful, lovely small hotel in Siena. However, it is about 20 minutes from the city center of Siena and about a 30 Euro ride each way. Other than that, the hotel itself was lovely on a small vineyard with very pretty gardens. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was quite good. Wished we could have stayed a few more days.

There is a nice town (Caslellini in Chianti) about 10 minutes away and several other stops within 30 minutes that we visited briefly but didn't explore too much.

I wish I could write a bad review if only to keep this place a secret, but alas I can't. My only \"bad\" comment, and hence rating on room, would be for a quieter ceiling fan. Other than that, Hotel Belvedere is a slice of Heaven. The location, the views, so relaxing. The chef was magnificent, we ate dinner each night we were there and it only got better. Can't say enough wonderful things about the facilities and staff!

Fantastic hotel for a honeymoon!

We booked this hotel last minute and it turned out to be the best of our 2.5 week stay in Italy. The hotel is located in the most serene Italian countryside, filled with vineyards and lush rolling valleys. The hotel itself is immaculate. The attention to detail is obvious and the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The pool on a hill overlooking the vineyards is a cherry on top of a perfect sundae. We will return again and again.

Beautiful location

In the heat of the summer the rooms are a bit stuffy with no A/C and only a fan. The pool is lovely and the location is good for drives around Chianti or to San Gimignano. Charging extra for breakfast seems a bit petty as well as for the rental of a pool towel. But the property is very nice and the rooms well appointed. Overall it was good but not great.

Nice, simple accommodations for Tuscany travellers

Belvedere provides simple accommodations at a reasonable price in a beautiful locale. Staff were lovely. Simple Euro buffet was delicious and the traditional Tuscan fare for dinner was fantastic, and inexpensive!
