Our stay as amazing close enough to leave the resort and walk the streets of BOCACHICA, the only downfall was no ac for 2 nights and having to continue to ask for towels as we had : guest and only kept getting 2 towels, but that was the only negative thing eveythung else was amazing, Delvin was one of the concierge at the location and was so helpful and amazing !

I do not have a negative thing to say about the Santo Domingo Bay and Casino. The property was beautiful. It was well maintained and very clean. You didn't go 2 steps without someone cleaning. Everyone was very helpful and just nice. Always smiling. The activities ranged from yoga on the beach to games to learning how to make drinks. The stay was very affordable and waking up to the Carribean Sea was the icing on top. The hotel was beyond exceptional. Highly recommend it and can't wait to go back next year.

I paid for ocean view and I had a big tree obstruction the view. I felt cheated from my ocean view.

I took my 94 year old mother and the elevator was malfunctioning throughout the 4 days that I was there.

If you don’t tip the staff they won’t give you the time to serve you especially at the bars.

Let me breakdown why this is one of the worst all inclusive resorts. They should honestly just let you book accommodations only without an all inclusive package. This was a waste of money. Exvellent reviews are a lie!

Amenities:
Restuarants - 2 restuarants that need reservation and 1 buffet. The buffet area was little bigger than the size of my room. Beyond limited food options. Food had no flavor and was served luke warm. Listen when you at resort and at minimum they dont have pizza for the kids you know its limited. If if I could give a minus rating I would.

Staff- insufficient staff throughout the entire hotel. You have to wait an extended time for the table to be cleaned at the buffet. Empty glasses and food plates at the pool with no staff to clean up.

Pool- 2 pools and 1 child pool. No one for The ENTIRE trip at the pool took a drink order. The pool bar was mostly closed. Glasses ran out by 12pm, with liquor being served in hot cups. I know DR has a reputation for drinks being week, but this hotel had minimal choices.

No bar in the lobby. No lounge, absolutely no activities facilitated by the hotel during the day and night.

Bored for the 4 days, and couldn't wait to.leave

This was a repeat visit. The beach here is amazing! The buffet has a good variety. The snack bar is also good when at the beach. Didn't use pool too much, but also clean. The only con was checking in - the wait time is too long. They have two restaurants which we didn't get to try due to the short time we were there. Enjoyed the Casino as well. Did not have much entertainment day or night. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway on a beautiful beach - this is the place. The beach waters are calm and shallow, so great for families with children. Definitely will continue visiting!

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this resort! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly and respectful staff. We were impressed by how incredibly clean the entire property was. Every area of the resort was spotless and well-maintained. The rooms were enormous and beautifully decorated, with plenty of space. The shower was super big and felt like luxury. The food was amazing, with delicious options, and we never had issues getting reservations or finding availability at the restaurants. The spa experience was fantastic- relaxing and professional. Overall, no complaints here. Everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend.

The property itself is good, but the staff treats you differently if you don’t speak Spanish. They also charge you an extra $140 a night per person for visitors even if they’re just stopping by to see you. They don’t allow your family to go to your room to spend time with you unless you pay the $140 per person per night which is ridiculous.

I first visited this resort in 2023 when it was known as Believe Hamaca. At the time, parts of the property were under renovation, and my room was in poor condition, which made for a disappointing experience. When I learned that the resort had been rebranded as Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort, I decided to give it another chance, hoping that significant improvements had been made.

Unfortunately, I found that the staff was still not very accommodating, despite the resort not being particularly busy during my stay.

The beach remains the highlight of this property. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is soft, white, and beautiful. The beach alone is one of the main reasons guests may consider returning.

Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. The French toast lacked flavor and was always hard. The vegetables were either overcooked or undercooked and had very little taste. The spaghetti was watery, and the pasta station served food that was excessively salty. I enjoy salty foods, but even for me, it was too much.

The resort offered music, but I expected more Dominican and Latin culture throughout the entertainment and overall atmosphere. Being in the Dominican Republic, I was hoping for a more authentic experience.
Another disappointment was the condition of certain areas of the property. Some sections still appeared to be under repair, with exposed wires, ladders, and construction materials visible around the resort. From my room, I could see what looked like

The hotel is clean. My room had an amazing view of the ocean and a fantastic balcony. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating and maintained the mini bar in the room fully stocked. We stayed for 3 days and other than the beach and pools there wasn’t much to do. The resort needs to at the very least have some music in the pool areas to make the place feel vibrant and inviting. The food was tasty, but they need to have more variety for the buffet. I noticed lunch items set out again at dinner time.

With some minor changes like music, activities and better food this hotel can be amazing.

This resort was just average overall. Communication was difficult because very few staff members spoke or understood English. It is heavily geared toward families, with lots of children and no adult-only pools or activities. The gym was the best amenity on the property.
My wife and I were celebrating her birthday, but despite notifying the resort in advance and again at dinner, there was no acknowledgment or special gesture. We also experienced multiple power outages during our stay, which caused several inconveniences. The bars had limited selections and were often out of ingredients or specific liquors. Dining options were also limited, with the buffet serving similar food daily and the specialty restaurants being underwhelming. The dining areas appeared understaffed, resulting in slow service and delays clearing tables.
Overall, the resort has potential, but service, communication, food variety, and guest experience need significant improvement.

The staff made our entire trip! They’re truly dedicated to excellence. The resort felt clean and beautiful and well maintained. The a/c in the room was AMAZING and we got it to freezing cold in our room (you can turn it down if you want but we like it cold). The amenities were top notch and the gym and common areas were extremely clean. I cannot emphasize the staff enough. They really make the place feel like home. They also speak Spanish mostly but they also speak English and if they can’t understand they try to make sure they get what you’re saying its very sweet. Overall 10/10 and I would recommend this place to everyone.

This resort was not at all what I expected. There’s no entertainment, the staff are not very accommodating or friendly, and the food all comes from 1 kitchen. I came to this all inclusive resort to celebrate Dominican Mother’s Day with the impression that there would be activities to participate in however all they had to offer was a rose & cookies in a nice box. My stay began with an issue at check in with the reception staff saying that my reservation was cancelled. We had to go through 3 receptionist with each receptionist taking longer to assist us until the manager finally came out 2hrs later. Once they finally confirmed that our reservation was in fact booked they gave us the key to the wrong room. We went back to the reception area to get access to the correct room and I noticed that 2 female receptionist gossiping about us being back in the front. When we finally got to the correct room we noticed that the toilet seat is not the correct size or put on correctly. Not to mention the missing shower door in my mother in law’s room. To conclude this review I will revisit my comment regarding the food coming from one kitchen. Yes this is an all inclusive resort giving access to 1 buffet and 2 restaurants however, all the food comes from the buffet kitchen. All restaurants are connected as the resort is not very big to have them located in different places. I don't find this very sanitary at all and I don't recommend coming here for a vacation, save your money.

Nuestra experiencia no fue la mejor. El bien tiene todas las condiciones para ofrecer una mejor experiencia, sin embargo no fue así. Enojados desatentos, falta de amabilidad y en muchas área insuficiente. Durante el almuerzo o cena durábamos hasta una hora esperando un vaso de agua o simplemente tenedores para poder comer. En el comedor los empleados andaban con pedidos sin saber què hacer, mientas esperábamos que nos atendieran.

La animación del hotel no es que sea mala, es que no existe. Luego de cenar por ejemplo, no hay mucho que hacer más que ir a dormir.

Hotel was renovated but still same structures from the last owners. We got to the hotel 2:30 for a 3pm check in, it was 5 pm and no rooms were available yet. Then, we had to wait until 6:30pm to eat something as everything was closed. Food was bad, no variety of food. The snack bar was terrible and the service even worse. They have no sense of customer service. Jocelyn the bag attendant was very polite and friendly. The hotel has no entertainment and the drinks selection was cheap. I tried to giving the benefit of the doubt since it said it was a new administration, but still the same as the old one, they need to better with the service; would not recommended.

Waooo quedé impresionado con este resort, lo habia visitado antes cuando tenia el otro nombre, ahora hay una diferencia del cielo a la tierra totalmente remodelado. La habitación preciosa, grande, bien decorada, limpia y una vista hermosa frente al mar. Excelentes las comidas del Buffet y los restaurantes a las cartas Italiano y asiatico. Todo el personal del Resort es muy amable y atentos en especial: Jesus Aneudi el cocinero del Kibo preparó un rico sancocho frente a la playa. Teresa y Angel en recepción, los maleteros Delvis, Jocelyn , Danilo y Natanael. Yohanny en el bar de la piscina, todos muy amables. Lo único negativo es el Snack, durante mi estancia nunca estuvo abierto a la hora programada, ni habia pizzas, pero por esto no dejo de darle mi review de 5 estrella espero que esta critica sea construtiva y mejoren, por cierto el pollo frito del Snack es el mejor que es comido en mi vida. El hotel está muy bello, pero unieron varias cosas que me desencantaron. Primero la comida: Señores vivimos en una isla que lo tiene todo! No es posible que un buffet sea tan limitado, me hubiese gustado ver más variedad…otra cosa, alquile una balinesa y duraron 1 hora para llevarme lo que incluía, tuve que terminar exigiendo un reembolso porque había explicado que ya me iba ese día y aún así duraron todo ese rato sin darme una explicación y al final fue que estaban descargando las champagnes…y lo 3ro es que se fue la energía eléctrica varias veces durante la noche,duraba minutos para regresar pero de todos modos fueron varias veces y hubieron personas que se quedaron varadas en los ascensores, cosa que creo que es muy peligrosa. Por favor mejores esos detalles porque tienen mucho potencial.

Staff are nice but not helpful. Make sure you make reservations for restaurants early they fill up fast and you’ll be stuck with buffet. The buffet isn’t bad but sometimes the restaurant experience definitely better. They only have 2 options. Italian and Japanese both great but not too many drink options no name brand liquor. The resort is pretty small. Love the cafe and gym very clean and tasty. The whole resort very clean. The resort needs to incorporate more events for night to give guests because not much to do after dinner maybe even karaoke night or dance event. There was one night beach event that wasn’t long and ended at midnight mind you my dinner ended at 11pm. I probably won’t go back it’s far from any nightlife in the city all the spots outside the resort are like 30 min away. The fact we were looking for fun shows you how boring place is. Definitely a place if you want to relax day in n out n just tan with friends. I didn’t get drunk and I was there for 4 days drinking from morning and night that’s how I know liquor is terrible. The food however was great no complaints on the cooking. Also the worst thing that happened was the power went out twice during my stay so it’s very clear they need some improvements.

Our stay at Santo Domingo Convention was amazing! Beautiful hotel, super clean rooms, excellent service, and a perfect location. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome the entire stay. Definitely one of the best hotels in Santo Domingo. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The great: the beautiful beach!
The good : Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, AC was sufficient/good, pools were great, buffet food was good (especially breakfast), ala cart Asian restaurant was outstanding (Louisa was our waitress. She was great), coffee bar was great with great service.
The OK : most of the staff seemed very disinterested in being there. There were exceptions : Louisa, Jordan and the lady at the concierge desk.
The REALLY BAD : you cannot leave the private beach area or hotel grounds without being aggressively hustled by the locals, including the lady selling banana boat rides. Not in the regular tourist-hustle way of some other countries. These people were pushy and rude to the point of threatening.
The guy at the concierge desk sold us what was supposed to be a catamaran snorkel trip to Catalina Island. The boat was not a catamaran and the crew appeared to be whatever local thugs were available to work at the dock. The crew spent the whole time blasting deafening rap music and pole dancing and trying to lap dance the guests. It was by far the worst tour we have ever had in any country. We let the concierge know, but he was clearly not interested.
We did book a history tour (not through the concierge) and that was great, so there are good tours out there, but avoid the guy at the concierge desk! Because of that, we won’t be back. It’s too bad because the beach is beautiful.
