Shuttle to airport was pre arranged but driver showed up 45 minutes late for an international flight. Friendly front desk but not open 24 hours. Nowhere to officially check out. Turned in my key to a man in a bench out front. Also no TV options. Other than that room was clean and comfortable.

- Great customer service. The staff is incredibly friendly, and very accommodating. Our room when we first checked in wasn't what we had hoped for, so we took it up with reception, and they immediately changed us to something more fitting. The room given to us had great space, a good bathroom, A/C, a double lock on the door, and great lighting. We also had an instance where we needed to leave very early for a tour and the kitchen staff was incredibly kind despite it being early in the morning.
- Regular maintenance. The cleaning staff made sure that all bathroom necessities were there (between towels, shampoo/body wash, etc.
- Breakfast. Considering breakfast is included into our stay, it was always amazing. Everything tasted fresh and honestly made with love. We tried all but the sandwich they had (we stayed 4 nights). It was not only lovely to have a dominican breakfast to choose from, but also choices that weren't as heavy for the morning. Their choices were american (eggs, sausage and toast), dominican (mangu, eggs, onions, salami and fried cheese), cereal, sandwich (with ham and cheese), and toast with jam. All these options also included coffee AND fresh juice (pineapple, tamarind, lemonade, watermelon, and melon).
- Hot tub. This was an amazing option to have within the hotel for two female travelers. We didn't want to stay out while it was dark, but it was amazing to end the day with this.
- Reception - Ask for available tours! They also have wifi.

I would have loved to give a good review to this hotel just because the staff were very friendly and nice to interact with. Unfortunately, the room was not at all as pictured. It was in poor condition, very small, and had no bathroom door which made for a very uncomfortable stay. Additionally, the shower didn’t drain and there weren’t sufficient outlets. We asked ahead if there was a crib available for us to use, and even called to confirm, but the crib provided was broken and not safe. There was no resolution on that issue and we had to drive to Santo Domingo to purchase a mattress to add to the crib in order to feel comfortable with our son sleeping there.

In an area that can be chaotic, this hotel is a peaceful oasis that is suitable for families. They have a no outside guest policy so if you are looking for a more family friendly place to stay then this is a good choice. Breakfast is included and it's very good. The service at the front desk, housekeeping and in the restaurant were all impressive. I would stay here again if I come back to this area.

The room was basic but comfortable and then hotel and restaurant was very well designed and decorated which provided a beautiful ambience and comfortable experience. My first time to Boca Chica as a 2 day stay prior to my departure flight. Not a fan of Boca Chica, too dirty and hustlers/aggressive vendors everywhere. This hotel was an oasis admist it all.

My stay at this property was extremely disappointing. The first room I was assigned had roaches, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. After requesting a change, I was moved to another building/“home” that turned out to be even worse.

The new room was located directly next to the kitchen, and I had to wake up as early as 5–6 AM every morning because I could hear every noise coming from staff preparing food. It was impossible to rest, and the only time I could get any sleep was during the day, forcing me to stay in bed just to recover.

On top of that, no clients or guests were placed anywhere near my area, which made me question why I was assigned to a room in such poor condition. The last room felt like the kind of space they give to guests they don’t care about. The experience made me feel singled out, and I genuinely felt I may have been treated unfairly.

Overall, this stay was a nightmare. Between the roaches, the noise, and the feeling of being placed in a neglected room, I cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Se me callo un jugo en la cama y el piso y me dieron ellos a mí un suape para que lo limpie yo y no me cambiaron la sábana. Todo fue horrible.

It wouldn’t let me stay there because I had a young girl with me and it’s a family hotel. They assumed that she was a prostitute, but she was my girlfriend. We have been together for nine months.

They’re discriminating against me and my girl. This is very wrong and unhealthy for business.

Near the beach, secure and quiet place. The room was very small for two people, but it was really clean and quiet, so we have a good night sleep. I did not like that in the morning j lost have an hour trying to checkout, nobody was there to receive the room keys, when I was about to leave the security appear and we returned to him. Overall nice place, few things to improve but you can have a decent sleep time there, recommend.

The property is a nice hotel with interesting gadgets around it that make it a sort of unique place, the room was clean but evidently has had better times, bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable. The attention was fantastic 👏 everyone very attentive and cordial. The area however leaves a lot to desire.lots of rundown buildings, dirt, loud music and you get accosted constantly by people trying to sell you things. Wife was often approached by men trying to seduce her or chat her up in very inappropriate ways. One day was enough to never want to be in the area.

Family Trip to Boca Chica

We are from NYC and havena home in DR. We love spending a few days in Boca Chica before we fly back to NYC.

We enjoyed our time at Batey Boutique Hotel. Charming hotel, we loved the decour. Food was great, and atmosphere peaceful. We had fun in the pool. It was small but a lovely oasis where we relaxed, played after the day at the beach.

Location is great, staff were pleasant and accomodating.

Hidden gem in Boca Chica. Literally walking distance to the beach. The rooms are small and quaint but have all the essentials. Love the bohemian design style. There’s parking in a small gated area and on the street. Breakfast is included in your stay. The views from the rooftop patio is gorgeous. Also, you’re right in the midst of DR living.

We stayed here to have a short commute to the airport. Worth every penny.

Batey Hotel Boutique is a little gem! From the moment we arrived, Elle made us welcome and feel at home. The room was really nice and the staff always willing to help. The food was excellent too - breakfast was ample and we stayed in one night to try the dinner menu - the food was excellent!
Close to the beach too!

The hotel and staff were wonderful and very accommodating. It is decorated so wonderfully, with beautiful artwork and antiques. It is very close to the airport and they were kind enough to arrange for transportation for me for a small charge (the driver was so nice and got me there in a timely manner and safely). It is located in a very busy area, so the street / traffic noise was a bit of a disturbance first thing in the morning. The hotel is a hidden gem.

For the price point. This hotel is very adorable. For a fast get away. It was a decent choice. There’s a pool and a hot tub on the ground floor. And a roof terrace with the second pool. The room was spacious and clean enough. Seconds from the beach. Overall not a bad choice for this price… the bad parts? staff needs hospitality training. The customer service just was not there. As a single female traveler, I could had gotten a better room. Instead they tucked me away in the darkest part of the hotel. The restaurant is overpriced. Can NOT justify the cost of fried red snapper with potato wedges and 2 glasses of white wine being $50 American Dollars. Tip not included. Then on my last night with my last glass of wine on the night stand. I look over to sip the wine and there a giant roach on the drinking glass… I got what I paid for honestly. Not to bad for the price point.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean. The staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and inviting. The restaurant at the property has delicious food and a good beverage selection. Its location not far from SDQ Airport (10-15 miles) and close walking distance to the beach and many shops/restaurants is convenient. The cost is very reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this place to travelers. I hope to return again

The property was fun and I felt like I was in a tropical resort. The art work, like sculptures and paintings on the exterior walls made for an enchanting experience. (It was a little noisy at night until about 11pm, so I would encourage ear plugs.)
*The receptionist and the wait staff at the restaurant were so kind, helpful, and delightful!!

This place just didn’t do it for me. It was a maze getting to me room. Narrow staircase, so I had a difficult time with my luggage. The room wasn’t horrible but it looked like a room from an old sitcom. Just very out dated. The clerk told me I wasn’t allowed visitors. I had friends in town who couldn’t visit me. They gave me a wristband, I guess to get in and out of the property and breakfast I guess. I told him this is very unsanitary plus, I’m supposed to shower with this thing every day. Long story short. I checked in at night and left in the morning. I was booked for two nights. I don’t think I stayed more than 12 hours I wish I could get my money back or at least my money back for one night either way there was no way I was staying there any longer. And the surrounding area, complete nightmare. Definitely the info safe.

The hotel close to everything, the beach restaurants , very calm and super safe and good for family

On my way back after i went through the custom and less then hour to my flight i remembered that i forgot my wallet in the hotel i called right away they found it and send it straight with taxi driver in about 10 munite i got my wallet i will never forget that
I just want to say thank you so much for the help i will look forward to go back again

I enjoyed the hotel restaurant and staff. When I arrived there was no one available to check us in for over 40 minutes. I had to go sit in the restaurant and order food in order to wait for hotel security to get there and process my check in. When we finally got the check in done, I found it strange that the hotel required a copy of my daughter's passport (a minor). Not sure if this is the process for all hotels in the area but have never encountered that at any other hotel. The room was clean and hotel was unique but room did have an odd smell and the bathroom could use an upgrade. Also there were cats in the halls (not a problem for us but may be a problem for ppl that are allergic).

We booked a double standard room but at check in they upgraded our room for free. The food in the restaurant’s hotel and breakfast incluyes were delicious. For beach access we recomend verde profundo which is located 30 meters from hotel. Totally recomended.

We booked after reading customer reviwes. Evertything was true to our experience, good room, excelent customer service and to top it of amazing breakfast. Walkable to beach, not a tourist spot by any means gor i ternarional travelers but it is nice and get to experience how locals enjoy precious beach. There are dru kards or otherwise street vendors teying to make a sale or conversation. Nothing a continus walk wirh no eye contact wouldnt weedout.

The room was very comfortable. There was Dominican artwork throughout the property. The attached restaurant was lovely. The food was delicious. I (Bill) took a walk after eating. There were mostly bars along the street. One young lady was a bit too friendly.

I liked the exterior of the property, peaceful and very Zen-like. It's like a shared with the manager/owner (unsure), it's like an oasis in the desert.

What I didn't like, was the anbience after dark. Totally unsafe, dirty and unpleasant. Not much decent entertainment in the surrounding area. It's as though Batey has been tasked with lifting the area to it's old glory. I wish them all the best and hope to see it some day. Thanks

Had a reservation for 2, only to arrive and be told by the security guard I can't bring anyone with me to the room? What's the point of have a room for 2 if you can't plan to maybe meet someone and bring them back with you? Who I spend my vacation with is none of their business. If I pay for 2 people then that's what I expect. Didn't plan on having to pay last minute to go somewhere else in the night since they won't allow a guest to enter in a room booked for 2.

Great comfy place

Stay at the Batey Hotel for one night stop while waiting for my next flights. The place was very nice and well maintained, clran and rooms where spacious and very comfortable. Staff is A+, very helpful and welcoming.
I use their private transportation to the hotel to make my life easier.
