NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT BOOK HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

I was immediately robbed by one of the locals, and forced to withdraw money from an ATM.

Once I finally got back to the hotel after withdrawing enough money to keep the thieves satisfied, the power kept going off. The area was also extremely insecure: gang of locals stood staring outside my window on second floor and filming us, AND WINDOW WOULDN'T CLOSE OR LOCK so had to BARRICADE the window with sofa). One particular guy stood looking intently at our second floor window (which wouldn't lock mind you) from 11pm to 6am. I didn't sleep a wink, and feared for my life.

There are also locals posing as hotel workers at the parking lot, one of whom chased us as we were departing and tried to block our exit (wearing a security hat).

Never go here under any circumstances.

I am very disappointed, you need to be careful when choosing this hotel. Although it says that there is a transfer from the airport to the hotel and it is paid for 30 dollars. For such breakfasts you have to pay extra for some products. The staff is inattentive, my broken shower was fixed only the next day. They only had two beach towels according to the plan, the next day they ran out. Also, during checkout, for some unknown reason, they were delayed, forcing me and the taxi I ordered to wait. Such a disrespectful and condescending attitude left an unpleasant memory of the vacation.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the Room was small but it served the purpose it was clean and it hot water. That’s important to me maybe not for others. The Hotel is in the heart of everything the beach and restaurants all in walking distance. If you want peace and quiet this is not the place for it because as soon as step outside everything is there. I have a great stay and would recommend.

This property is very walkable to all Boca Chica has to offer. The included breakfast is solid , no frills. We loved the rooftop pool as it was lovely to a lookout over the neighborhood as we cooled off. The staff was very attentive and made sure all our needs were met. They handled our room issue speedily and with a smile. I would recommend if you want a clean , affordable, boutique-like stay near the beach and nightlife.

I absolutely would not recommend this property to anyone. Our flight into the Santo Domingo was canceled due to Hurricane Erin so we were not able to check in on the date we booked the room. I reached out to the Hotel to inform them of this, never received a response. We finally made it to the property and was told we would not be getting the room we booked. Normally not an issue HOWEVER we booked a PREMIUM room and was given a standard shoebox room instead with absolutely no form of refund or compensation. I spoke with the manager who in turn tells me because I didn't show up my original room was given away because it was reserved for someone else. Keep in mind the hotel room was PAID IN FULL. This hotel and it's surroundings is absolute garbage and I definitely would not be staying here again.

The staff is wonderful! They keep the hotel very clean and are available at frint desk 24 hrs. Many food options on the same street as hotel and right across the street from the beach. Gyom restaurant and the Boathouse are excellent for seafood at reasonable prices. The people are very friendly. It helps to have a translator on your phone if you don't speak Spanish. There is a strong police & guard presence in boca chica as they are keeping crime down. Definately fealt safe. We would stay here again.

The front desk person was very nice and helpful. The hotel is located a few minutes to Boca chica on foot and on a street with his food and bars. Highly recommended.

Me hospedé una noche en La Vicentina con la intención de conocer la playa de Boca Chica, aunque ya había escuchado algunos comentarios negativos sobre la zona. Lamentablemente, mi experiencia superó las malas expectativas.

El hotel es pequeño, con una decoración descuidada y poco atractiva. Al llegar, la habitación no estaba limpia: las sábanas tenían restos de maquillaje y vellos púbicos. Exhausta por el viaje, pedí unas sábanas limpias en recepción para cambiarlas yo misma, pero en lugar de una solución rápida, me enfrentaron con el personal de limpieza, quienes se quejaron abiertamente conmigo. Fue una situación muy incómoda.

El aire acondicionado hacía tanto ruido que no pude dormir bien, la televisión no funcionaba y el sillón tenía marcas de pintura corporal, como si no lo hubieran limpiado desde la última ocupación. Cuando comenté esto, me respondieron con excusas sobre una fiesta reciente, lo cual no me interesaba como huésped.

La zona en general no parece segura. Hay muchos bares alrededor, el entorno es viejo y descuidado, y para llegar a la playa hay que atravesar un edificio abandonado. Toda la noche hubo un ruido constante, no sé si por el aire acondicionado o alguna tubería del lugar.

He visitado República Dominicana varias veces y esta ha sido, sin duda, una de las experiencias más decepcionantes. No volvería a hospedarme en La Vicentina ni lo recomendaría a nadie.

The hotel was close to numerous diners and restaurants which allowed for options to choose from. The down side is that during certain hours the taxi cannot dmcome directly to the hotel so guests are rwquired to walk about 6mins to be picked up. But overall the staff was very friendly and helpful.

My stay was booked through Expedia & this hotel had its ups & downs. While waiting to board, the airline canceled my flight. I immediately emailed to cancel my booking, transfer & explain what happened. I received a great response advising to notify them of my new dates. A new booking was made for the following week. I notified the hotel of the dates & requested airport transfer.

Now things get a little dicey. The week prior, I reached out multiple times by email and telephone to confirm my pick-up at the airport. During our phone conversation the booking was confirmed, but things didn’t go as planned.

My flight was a little early. Upon arrival, I exited & did not see the driver I requested. I tried not to panic. I called the hotel & was informed that no one was coming,and I should take a cab.

Now, cue the panic—I'm in a foreign country, don’t speak the language, & as you are landing, you are warned not to take rides from strangers. I felt very panicked and nervous as I realized I had no choice but to navigate the situation on my own.

To make things worse, the next day, the hotel asked me to pay the driver who had arrived for the original pick-up, despite my canceling the ride hours earlier. After expressing my frustration, they did send a kind apology email, but by that point, I was already pretty disheartened by the whole experience.

Positives were the hotel was mostly clean, though I did find chewed gum on the windowsill in my room. Breakfast was great. Staff was kin

We arrived late at night, but our experience was marred by unexpected difficulties. Unfortunately, the street was closed off with barricades, forcing us to walk around the block with our luggage. The atmosphere was intimidating, especially at night.

To make matters worse, the front desk staff seemed unconcerned, stating that the street closure occurs every night. We believe it's essential for hotel management to notify guests about this recurring issue in advance.

While our stay was comfortable, the initial experience left a poor impression. We hope the hotel will take steps to address this issue and provide better communication to future guests.
