Have been staying here for my last few Batam trips and have been very happy from room to staff to amenities but this trip was not so pleasant.
First of all, think was given a room on a smoking level? Kept smelling cigarettes througout. Then the tap for shower and sink is not working well, its jammed and water splashing all over. The lock on the door was also not working well...
Complained to the reception and they were very polite and pleasant, tried to rectify the issues but doesnt help much.
Wish they would double checked everything before releasing the room, and we were there after 3pm, which isbthe check in time, so they should have enough time to prepare their rooms for new guest.

The only thing I liked was the location. It was extremely convenient.

Room reeked of mould odour and the place was filled with stains. Look at the photos of the basin and bath tub.

The carpet probably contributed to most of the musty smell. You should really remove carpets in locations that are high in humidity. It is not sensible at all to continue using those ancient carpets.

The spa inside the hotel was the worst we’ve experienced at that price point. Avoid at all cost.

So if you only need the hotel for sleep at night and don’t plan to spend any time inside the hotel, it’s fine for the location. But if you want a decent stay, avoid this place.

Also, the employees at the front desks lack proactively in correcting problems experienced by customers. Their English is fine but their service attitude is poor.

Staff at the 18/02/25 afternoon not very nice give us a smelly room aircon not working 16 still hot in the room , toilet leaking water, shower 🚿 drainer block can't have a shower, call front desk they not changed the room for me all night me and my husband won't be able to sleep, every breath is smelly like dust and moisture in the air, I am allergic with dust , went to the front desk at 6:30 am 19/02/25 told them what is happened yesterday, lucky
He takes action to change my room. From 19/02/25 the staff all very helpful and nice.
Except the first date I checked in 18/02/25 the staff not very nice.

I was traveling with a 5 months old baby, 20 months old toddler, 9 year old kid & 2 adults with 2 rooms with connected door. During 1st night had saw some ants crawling around toilet basin, so didn’t think much. Till the next morning I was very disappointed when I saw there’s lots of ants in one of the room toilet, bar counter & bedside cabinet. Other than this ants issue, the rest are still considered pleasant. Like breakfast buffet, room service food, pool & service from the hotel staffs. Hope the hotel can do something regarding the ant infestation. Thank you.

The staffs are friendly and make us feel welcome. We have an upgrade room and my kid was happy with the spacious room we had. The room are cosy and very quiet. The breakfast buffet has varieties to choose from. It would be good if the spaghetti noodle is placed under a warmer because it is a little dry and little hardy when cold. Probably due to the strong air-condition at the restaurant. It has Its own access path to the Nagoya Hill Mall which make easier to go to the mall. Nevertheless we had a good stay at the hotel. My daughter gives a thumbs up and wants to return at the same hotel.

Warm service by staff. Greatly enjoyed the friendliness of all their staff. Hotel was in great condition. However, upon entering my room, I found a half-used packet of sugar in the bowl. Teaspoons and glasses were also dirty, with coffee stains on the stainless steel teaspoons and colgate marks in the glass. Also, my room’s airconditioning was either very warm or very cold; it could not be adjusted well. Shower also ran hot and cold when the knob was not adjusted at all. Needs more maintenance. As I was only there for a short while, we didn’t bother to inform the hotel staff to repair the items.

Grands I Hotel is wonderfully located near Nagoya Hill shopping mall. Near areas for massage and also close to BCS mall. Swimming pool is adult and kid friendly. Love how they have a section for kids at the side. However the jacuzzi is abit too hot for comfort. However the room carpet is abit mouldy. When we opened the room door, we were invited by a strong smell of the carpet. Otherwise I think everything is fine. We also love how the plugs were Singapore devices friendly.

Should be 1 of the best upscale hotels in Batam, hotel staffs are very polite and friendly. Checking-in and out were hassle free and lobby is spacious with marbled flooring. For superior room, fully carpeted with classy sofa and desk, king size bed with large pillows and to our surprise, there's even a bolster provided. There are also lots of cable TV channels which made us want to stay in longer.

Hotel in a good location.

A hotel in a very convenient location. Very close to Nagoya Hill mall which had eateries and the hotel was surrounded by many massage places. Rooms and toilets were clean.

However on our third day, when the hotel had a large delegation, they were not able to handle the crowd. Food at the breakfast buffet was not replenished in time leading to waste as the food came late after the guests left.

Security of the hotel was good. The guards checked every car that was entering the premises. Check in and out were swift. The rooms were cleaned, however the only down side was we smelt cigarettes along the hallways to our hotel everytime we past by. We were very certain that smoking isnt allowed on our level.
