An excellent hotel offering all the amenities and services you would expect from a five star stay. However, the experience is somewhat spoilt by the persistent and rather annoying taxi and horse carriage drivers gathered at the entrance which unfortunately is the case for most of Luxor. It would greatly improve guest comfort if they were positioned further away from the hotel. Additionally, the presence of horse waste on the road leading to the entrance area is both unpleasant in appearance and smell, which impacts the overall impression. I understand this may be outside control of the hotel but thought I would mention it.

The room was clean, but it was old and not up to 5-star standards. The cleaning staff were very friendly, but the other staff at the desk were just so-so. In particular, the breakfast area did not provide napkins, and although there was a lot of food, it was a breakfast with nothing to eat.

The receptionist is inconsiderate, we arrive around 11pm with four luggages, they put me in another building which is several mins walk from the main building. and there is no elevator, we had to carry four luggages to the second floor. The room is moldy smell，we turn on the heat and fan on the thermostat, it never gets warm, we changed the temperature to 30, after two hours , the room gets colder. Obviously the heat never works except the fan, I had to turn off the thermostat. I would definitely ask to change the room if it’s not midnight. There is also water on the floor by the toilet. The bed linen were so damp, the pillow were too firm and too high, more like a cushion. I couldn’t sleep due to coldness and damp linen and uncomfortable pillows. The light switches look dirty. Worse than $60 Motel condition in U.S. It looks like there is a big hall for breakfast dishes, but no good quality food. The worst living experience with a hotel.

The Nile view rooms are great. We loved sitting on the patio and watching the cruises and boats on the Nile. The location is not great. The area just outside the hotel felt unsafe to walk at night. So you pretty much need a taxi to step out. The hotel knows this so all the restaurants within the hotel are overpriced. They also only provide 2 bottles of drinking water a day which isn't sufficient at all.

We had a wonderful stay at Steigenberger Achti Resort—easily the best hotel of our entire trip to Egypt. Our room was very clean and included a thoughtful welcome treat of Turkish/Lebanese-style baklava. The view from the room was stunning, overlooking both the Nile and the hotel’s beautiful garden. On our first evening, we enjoyed an amazing sunset right from our window. The next day we relaxed by the pool, had ice cream at sunset, and watched the sky change colors from the poolside—truly memorable.

The breakfast at the Karnak buffet restaurant was excellent, with a wide variety of breads, spices, honey, hot dishes, and cold items. We also enjoyed the food at both hotel restaurants. The chicken at Karnak was juicy and delicious, and at Sofra we had lentil soup, yogurt salad, and BBQ chicken skewers—all very flavorful.

Most of the staff were polite and courteous, and the receptionist kindly helped us find a nearby pharmacy. The only negative was a waiter at the traditional café by the pool who was quite rude, but this was an exception in an otherwise fantastic stay.

Overall, Steigenberger Achti offered comfort, great food, beautiful views, and warm hospitality—we highly recommend it.

So my stay was amazing! Myself and my friend went. I highly recommend booking a Nile view. I did pay a little bit extra for it - we only stayed for one night but it was absolutely breathtaking just seeing the Nile. The pools were great, we did not know there was a jacuzzi but that looked great. The breakfast oh my word the best breakfast spread you will ever see - they have everything from a waffle/crepe/egg station to 10 different types of homemade jams - I would stay again for the breakfast alone. My friend and I only booked one night as we are only staying in Luxor for 2 days and back to Cairo but after the experience wit this hotel we wished we were there longer!! We also got a massage done and I forgot the name of the manager but he was amazing so accommodating and helpful as well as his amazing staff- my masseuse was unreal!! We really loved the shops too - we wanted to get souvenirs which is hard to get in Egypt because of all the unjust tourist prices and people yelling come to my shop, but the ones in the hotel were amazing especially the one selling all alabaster material stuff! This hotel is worth every penny the rooms are amazing, so quiet, great aircon everything you need and more!!!

Hotel was good. We were able to recharge and relax at the pool for a day. It is at the end of the main street which meant it was quiet but not far from anything. Only issue is we got sick from the food at the restaurant and it was a lot more expensive to eat in the hotel than right outside. Aside from the restaurants, everything else we enjoyed.

Firstly, the spa at this resort is amazing! The staff are great and provide amazing service. The spa also has a beautiful view of the Nile. The resort is beautiful and has an amazing view of the sunset on the Nile (you can also catch a spectacular view of the hot air balloons early in the morning). The staff are friendly and resort has a few great food options as well.

The hotel, staff, service we received and hotel grounds were just fantastic. The only gripe we have/had, was that we couldnt walk out of the hotel grounds without being pounced upon (not literally!).

Taxis, people with boats, horse and carriages all waiting and pestered us to buy their service. We like walking and can cope with some harrassment, but felt like we couldnt walk out of the hotel grounds, which was a shame.

Otherwise, brilliant holiday with this hotel.

The staff and the service was top notch and the room was generally very nice as were the conditions in the hotel and the food was good. We felt very secure inside the hotel. Right outside the hotel on the street, it was not so good as there were men hassling us to get on their horses or taxis and catcalling my girlfriend. However, I can not fault the staff or the conditions inside the hotel.

Overall a 5-star experience. Restaurants were good with a variety of food. House keeping needs some improvement. Had to call several times to get the towels - they forgot to place towels for our room; no-one answers when you dial the house keeping number. Front desk is too busy to respond to calls. The pool area was nice; walk along the Nile was good too. River Nile view from the balcony room was spectacular. Booked transportation from the concierge and everything went seamless. The staff was courteous. Rooms were nice, quiet; spacious and with comfortable bed.

Really nice hotel and had a good stay in general. However, small issues really taint the experience of our stay. Firstly, they have some shops outside the main reception - all very nice shop keepers but after staying a very days it get tiresome having to say no to buying things. One shop sells fake products and extremely high price so my mother ended up getting ripped off. Considering they're on the hotel premises this is very disappointing. Due to their location you can't avoid them when go to and from your room and they're opening all the way till midnight. Everywhere you go in Egypt youll be having to deal with people selling things and services so disappointed that our hotel wasnt a safe place to relax away from this. In general, the hotel is at the higher end of prices in Luxor including food and drinks. Outside the hotel is a great shop at fair prices but there's is a flood of taxi drivers waiting to follow you as soon as you leave the hotel - again the hotel offers no protection or support from them. Our prearranged taxi for the airport didn't show so we had to get one organized by the hotel staff. This was at an extremely high price (nearly double our previous taxis) but was stuck so had to pay. Again frustrating that the hotel staff allowed them to quote this and not help it guests.

I can’t believe this hotel rates as a 5 Star. It’s more like a 3 star. I’m glad we only booked one night because I don’t think I would have survived the dirt of the hotel and sub standard offerings in their rooms and dinning offerings.

My stay was only for a night, but it was wonderful! The staff was more than helpful and so incredibly kind. I arrived a little before check in and was happy to grab lunch and wait, but they went above and beyond and got me in my room early. They could probably tell I was quite tired. This was my first trip to Luxor, but I have no doubt I will be checking in here again!

Everything was great. One thing I would recommend, is to advise the cleaning staff to double check before walking in the room. We forgot to put the do not disturb sign. Before we knew it, the cleaning guy was walking in our room.

Great hotel, beautiful decor and facilities. Loved the safety aspects the hotel adopts with gates outside which allows tourists to wander around without all the harassment. The addition. Of a small shopping mall within the safety confines of the hotel grounds was very much appreciated. The staff of the hotel could not have been more accommodating. The restaurants etc were all excellent we would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone

Lovely hotel and staff were polite and respectful. The grounds were well maintained and the pools were nice. Food for breakfast and dinner for half board were good. Luxor was too hot when we visited recently so it was nice to have a place to just chill out at the spaciaous big airconditioned lounge after tours. Resort felt safe. The only thing i find hilarious was, when people check-in and are shown the room, the door access card doesn't work and then wait for a while for them to go down sort it out, and for this type of hotel, i find that crazy. And i noticed it happened to other hotel guests too. Very strange and don't understand why they would allow it (?tipping purposes?). Otherwise, we had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel.

This is the nice located praportie. On front of the Nile river. Hotel had a gate and was close to public axes which was providing a extra security. Staff was freandly and polite. Down part was that they couldn't speak English well ( eaven front desk ). Rooms where outdated. Overall was a good experiance.

Great resort with beautiful garden right on the Nile. Lots of good facilities and friendly staff.
Some small items like power points and electrical appliances are outdated, there is a ferry dock next door which had a running diesel engine all day on one day. It spoils the pool area - don’t know what, if anything the hotel could do about that though.

After bouncing around city to city and having a less than stellar room in a cruise ship, Steigenberger Resort Achti was like an oasis. Very reasonably priced, a comfortable bed, and a really quite tasty breakfast buffet with a view that will stay with you the rest of your life. Best breakfast spread I've ever had at a hotel. In the States, hotels that are twice the price give you everything half the quality of Achti.
My only complaint is it feels a little too secluded. I know that sounds silly considering it's called a "resort." But it just kind of felt like I was stuck buying what the hotel was selling.
