Great place to say steps away from the major tourist center. Front desk, specially alexandro, were very friendly and helpful. Customer service was top notch. Room was comfortable, although some furnishings is dated.. Only negative was we didn't like the toilet flush mechanism.

everything is very old, in a dilapidated condition, the beds are not comfortable to sleep in, the furniture is bad, the shower head leaks in the bathroom, the carpet is very dirty, the night lamps are dirty!! We got a room that looks at the neighboring building, (we watch people eating ) there is no view as if we are in a bunker Very expensive sleep for such a bad accommodation!

The location of the hotel was very convenient. The shuttle bus coming from the airport stops at liberta croci not far from the hotel . The room was quiet big with lots of storage space, with a fridge and safe.
The bathroom was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good with fresh fruit every day , The hotel is kept clean, I definitely would stay here again.
This is a 3 star hotel as stated on the website .

Space between the shower and toilet was minimal so someone with mobility problems would need to take extra care.
Sadly ,the soundproofing between the room and next door was extremely poor with intrusive noise for some of the late evening
Breakfast included a reasonable variety of plentiful food though nothing hot (but it was Continental !)
Away from the historical centre but not by much and easily accessed by bus
You buy a 2 3 4 or 5 day ticket from tobacconists or dedicated kiosks
The multi use ticket is fully inserted into a machine behind the driver and is popped back out for you to retrieve
The route the bus takes is displayed at each bus shelter

This is a budget option, so don't expect fancy decor or 5 star facilities. However, it is very well situated for a simple walk into the heart of Palermo and opposite the stop (Croci) for the airport bus, it is clean and has very friendly staff, who sorted out the things that weren't working in our room when we arrived. The room was huge with a well-stocked bathroom; there is plenty of breakfast and a supermarket a few yards away. And Palermo is a great city, so we were pleased with our choice.

The room stank of cigarettes, it was stuffy and the aircon was extremely outdated. The staff were not friendly and the photos did not match the reality. I couldn’t even stay the night, I left straight away. The shower floor was filthy! And this is not an exaggeration. I should have asked for a refund.
I would not recommend staying here.

Quite an old hotel, decent size room and good shower but a bit tired. Cleaned everyday with fresh towels which was a bonus. Breakfast decent but nothing hot . All in all great for the price. It really stands out because of the staff, everybody really helpful and friendly.

The shower stall is just right for a 7 year old. I am 64 & 6’2” tall, it is miserably difficult to shower in such a tiny space. Also, the sink butts up against the shower. These defects are ridiculous and akin to a third world facility.

On the bright side, the room is quiet, staff is helpful, room service is great, and breakfast is good. My large window allows ample breezes to enter.

The hotel rooms have dated furniture and facilities, but it is kept clean. The rooms also have an \"old\" smell to it. It didn't bother me too much and you don't notice it after a while.

What made it for me was the staff. At breakfast, I asked for a hand-made Espresso and Latte, and the staff accommodated with no huffing or puffing.

Overall I would recommend this hotel for the staff, location, and price!

The location is good. It is within walking distance to everything. There is parking (not free) on the streets and in a garage across the street. The room is large, the beds are comfortable. My only complaint is the lack of air conditioning. We had to open the windows and it was very loud outside. I couldn't sleep well.

Fit for purpose

The hotel is central and the airport bus stops about two minutes away. The reception staff aren't very friendly or interested in you or your stay. The cleaning staff are excellent. Breakfast was okay, especially if you like croissants. The orange juice wasn't real. You get what you pay for and there are no major negatives about this hotel.

A good, clean, basic, reasonably priced hotel

The Hotel Europa is a basic, but comfortable hotel. It provides all of the essentials at very reasonable rates, and the service staff are very friendly and helpful, providing almost anything asked within reason.
The hotel Europa is also wonderfully located, within walking distance of many good restaurants and shops of all price levels and almost anything you you would want to see without too much planning -- 40 meters from Via Liberta the main street throiugh the center of town and 100 meters from Piazza Politeama, the piazza where all the locals congregate and the young kids play and is also the location of the famous Teatro Massimo, and accessible to all essential transportation including only 100 meters from the bus to the airport that runs every 40 minutes. If you just want a comfortable, quiet clean hotel without all the frills, Hotel Europa is a very good choice in Palermo. Be sure to try the restaurant Le Volte (The Times) just across the street.

We stayed here as a couple for a week. Easy to find hotel just off the main street in a posh area of town.
The room was clean and got cleaned daily. A bit of wall paper was hanging off and there was no English TV channels and it got quite hot as I don't think the air con was working. The breakfast was ok but could do with being a bit more.
The wi-fi was good and worked fine in our room which was good. The staff were great and spoke good English as well. As said location is good and about 20 min walk in to the centre of Palermo. The airport bus stops straight outside and there are other busses around to take you to various places which all stop very close. Loads of restaurants around to choose from and all good price.
For the price and facilities I would stay here again.

Hard to find!

We arrived at 11pm and drove 3 hours in circles in Palermo to find our hotel! Thanks to teenagers on Scooters who took us there or we would still be driving in circles. The hotel staff made no accommodations for our 7 hour stay!

quiet, clean and located in a super neighbourhood

very quiet room, even though the hotel is located by via della Libertà, one of the main road of the Palermo city center. Wifi is free and fast enough to stream movies. Breakfast was not included but the neighbourhood has plenty of nice bar and coffee places. I was traveling by motorcycle and there were free bike parking spots just across the street.

Fab location. Just off the main road so quiet, but within walking distance of all the sights of Palermo. Buse routes on adjacent road with shuttle bus to and from airport jus 8 minutes walk from hotel. Nearest supermarket a few minutes walk away. Nearest gelato bar 10 minutes walk away! Lovely local pizzeria if you go right out of hotel and then another right round the corner. Excellent hotel staff who will do their best to help. Very clean room which looked recently painted. Comfy bed. Tv and fridge. Lots of wardrobe space and hangers. Air conditioning. Clean shower and bathroom. Lots of hot water. Breakfast great if you love good coffee and fresh pastries (yum!). I honestly cannot find any fault with the Hotel Europa and it was very good value for money.

City Centre Hotel. Right in the Centre of Palermo

Good, basic hotel found right in the centre of the city. Alot of really nice local restaurants within a 10 minute walk and close to two bus stops. Please note for our booking, we did not include the breakfast as we did not hear positive reviews. However there are so many places to eat locally that it was not a problem.

Lobby was a nice place to sit down (although bar was never open).

Rooms varied in size but ours was a good size with firm beds. It was clean but you could tell that some redecorating is needed at some point. bedroom had very strong air conditioning which was good for us!! Bathroom was a good size with a bath and shower. The room and bathroom was always cleaned and looked after by the staff. The minibar is also very cheap as is all food and drink in Palermo.

Staff were very friendly and spoke ok-decent English but to be honest, can't expect everyone in Palermo to speak fluent English. It was enough for us to get by without a problem. Hotel is also a 5-10 minute taxi (15 Euros) or 30 minute was from the central Train station and Bus station.

To summarise, location is perfect, hotel was clean but in need of modernising, staff were friendly and always helpful and for the price, there is nothing to really complain about. Would definitely recommend to someone else.

Entrance, lobby and dining area reasonable standard. From the ground floor to first floor the stair carpet was filthy. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall outside our room and the painted walls inside the room hadn't seen a lick of paint for years. Carpet wasn't hoovered or swept in the time we were there and dust all over however the sheets were clean as was the bathroom. And it's such a shame because a little bit of care about appearance and cleanliness it could be a really good place to stay. The staff were helpful, and the location is really good for the airport and to get to attractions.

My Opinion

This is my second time in this Hotel this year ,very convenient for its position .
For the rest its at my opinion un acceptable 3 stars, the furniture its a little bit obsolet
as well the toilets need urgent refurbishments.
On my last night my flight out of Palermo, was very early in the morning, and I had the
inconvenient of the lights on the room didint work for electricity failure, and I had to do my
luggage sin light !!!!!!!!!! a nightmare. When I went to the lobby I report the happen, but seems to me the man on duty didint care at all. I MAY NOT RETURN AGAIN IN THIS HOTEL, THE ATTITUDE OF PEOPLE ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME

Hotel excellence

The hotel is situated just off the main road into the centre, the main shopping road. There is a handy supermarket nearby. And an excellent ice cream place for a late evening addition.
The hotel itself has friendly and cheerful staff. The room was very large, and all the facilities were in very good condition. We had no complaints. Breakfast was straightforward. A bar had expresso available all the time it seemed.
Walking around Palermo felt safe, even along alleys at night. Not that we looked like tourists in any grand fashion. Only once at a bar on the fringes of a market did we feel we had sat amongst a group of young men who had other business in mind, though not with us.
The people are cheerful, not pushy. The food was good, large portions, and reasonably priced. A very enjoyable place to go.
A day out to the seaside at Mondelo is recommended. 30 mins on bus. Sand. Clear mediterranean sea, you can see some small fish swimming around you.
Don't bother with postcards, you'll be lucky to find stamps. Post office, after queueing for a long time, stick printed label stamps on your cards, which obliterates a good portion. But, eh, this is Sicily/Italy, you can't expect heaven. Though ice cream in brioche... is heaven. Particularly with the size of the scoops!

Lovely hotel in a good location

The airport bus stop was near the hotel on Via Della Liberta (7 bus stops from the airport). So it was a short walk to the hotel on via Agrigento and easy to find (2-3 streets down from the stop). We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff who spoke good English as our Italian is poor! Our room was a large size with an excellent, comfortable bed and was kept very clean. There was good wardrobe space, a nice toilet/shower room and the shower worked well (not a dribble as can happen in some hotels!). Plenty of clean towels and hooks to hang clothes/wet towels. Overall the room was pleasant although the décor was a little drab but clean and tidy. There was a small fridge, television, safe and a radio alarm next to the bedside. There was also air conditioning. Breakfast was served from 7 am to 10 am. It was buffet style; simple but adequate with fresh rolls, butter, jams, cakes, croissant, yoghurts, fruit juice and tea and coffee. There was a free private room for internet access. Overall the hotel was very good value for money. Staff were always helpful and gave good advice. The hotel was in a quiet neighbourhood. Nearby there is a supermarket to stock up on food if needed and the hotel is near the old town and the bus route. I would strongly recommend.

8 days in Palermo

Spent 8 days here on vacation. Great location in the heart of city center. 10 min walk to Teatro Massimo (recommended) and close to shopping areas on the main road from the hotel. Only advice if your looking for a swim at the beach (Mondello), its not close. Its about 20 mins away via scooter (highly recommend). Bus is much longer too. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable and the room was fine.

This hotel is in an very good location and a great bargain. One of the biggest challenges in Palermo is finding a parking spot. There is a parking garage across the street, that is the good part. The bad part is that the garage is somewhat challenging to get in an out of and you will want to make sure you inspect your vehicle every time you remove it from the garage.

I've stayed at other Hotel Europas, this one was not my favorite. The lobby is modern as it's been remodeled, but as you walk up the stairs and into the rooms you'll step back in time. The rooms are very basic and though the location is great the room is loud. The breakfast is worth every Euro!

Great hotel in centre of Palermo

Travelling from London to Palermo and looking for a central hotel for just one night, before taking the ferry onto Genoa. Hotel is a either 30 minute walk or a 10 min bus ride from Palermo Central railway station, my point of arrival. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good english. Room was clean and spacious. The hotel is 5 min walk from the city centre with several appealing restaurants also nearby. Breakfast is the usual Italian fayre: cakes, jam, bread rolls and coffee.

The hotel also had the bonus of being just 10 minutes walk from the docks, which is where I caught the ferry for the onward trip to Genoa.

Ideal for the centre of Palermo

A good little hotel in Palermo. The room was cleaned everyday which was lovely.

While the road was quite noisy, if you put the shutters down it kept out most of the sound.

Free breakfast with the room was fine though just bread and pastries.

I would recommend this for short stays/couples. Prob not enough in the area for families.

Hotel Europa in Palermo

The hotel was clean overall. Carpets need to be replaced in the room. Wonderful breakfast included each morning. Easy to walk to downtown & plenty of bus stops. Best pizza & vino restaurant right around the corner! I would go back!!

A day in Palermo

We had lost our luggage at the airport and the staff was very helpful making calls to help us get our luggage back. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms felt clean. Not the best we've ever stayed in but the location was decent and the cost was very good.

A good all round place to stay.

A good place to stay for a budget trip. Staff do not speak fluent English but are very helpful. If you want a cup of tea ask the Reception desk - state if you want it with cold milk.
At breakfast you need to ask for a jug of cold milk.
We can thoroughly recommend Pipi Room for an evening meal: it is just round the corner. Reception will explain where. Don't even think about getting a train from the airport as the station is miles from the hotel. The airport bus drops and picks you up just round the corner near the Giardino Inglese. The catacombs are a fair walk from the Norman Palace through a rough district. They are well worth seeing but very disturbing for the sensitive person. They close between 12.30 and 3.30 pm and there is nothing else round there. The city tour buses cost 20 euros but you can get on and off for two days. Not a great deal to see.

Good for a short break.

Our room on the second floor had a carpet that had seen better days and less stains in its youth. Our friends on the 4th & 5th had a much more presentable and superior tiled floor. The breakfast was OK, apart from the coffee, the bread rolls were delicious.

Convenient location - especially for serious shoppers (100m from the Gucci store!) - but also close to bus routes to the rest of Palermo. Good value.

Clean and quiet location

We were very much satisfied with the space and cleanness of the room. However, I would have given a higher rating if the hotel internet worked properly. Our room on the 4th flood did not have any internet connection so we had to go down to the reception every time we needed to check our emails. Also there were issues with the hotel modem during the latter half of our stay (hotel had one PC available to use though).

The staff at this hotel were a great advert and no request seemed too much trouble for them. The rooms and furniture is a little tired but the rooms are clean. The breakfast was typically continental and plenty of choice, no meats or cheese. We made no use of the restaurant, the restaurant seemed to be closed at the weekends but there was plenty of choice in the vicinity. I was more than happy with our stay.

Perfectly Situated for Walkers

The hotel is perfectly situated in a great part of town. We arrived close to 11:00pm after taking the Airport bus. The first landmark we saw was \"Prada\". We (two women) were not uncomfortable walking the distance to the hotel. We loved how they closed the street Sunday nite for all the pedestrians to walk and socialize. The room was more than ample (by European standards) with a large, updated bathroom. We were on the second floor, it was very quiet. Wireless was dependable every day. Breakfast buffet was generous with cereal, pastries, rolls, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc. We walked all of Palermo before getting a car. Bus service is outstanding. Hop on/Hop off siteseeing bus was blocks away. Shopping a half block away, restaurants closeby. Staff has passable English. Were there six days, all in all a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, friendly staff, plentiful breakfast, only real let-down was wifi - hotel had claimed it was in all rooms but signal too weak..luckily the lobby was very comfortable as we spent quite a lot of time there planning day trips.
