Dear Future Guests,

I want to share my experience at Arawan Beach Resort to help you avoid the disappointment we faced during our stay.

Upon arrival, we were expecting to find a beautiful beach, only to discover muddy areas and littered spots that were far from inviting. The beach is inaccessible due to ownership by local fishermen, making it clear that the resort's promotional materials are misleading.

The resort claims to have appealing swimming pools, but we found this to also be a huge lie. This detracted from our overall experience and made us question the resort's commitment to customers.

The location is quite isolated, situated approx. 15 minutes away from anything. The shuttle service is infrequent, and if you miss one, you're left to rely on expensive taxi rides to reach nearby areas. This remoteness becomes a significant inconvenience, especially when there are far better options available.

Additionally, the pricing for food and drinks at the resort is exorbitant. For example, a simple plate of Pad Thai costs around 260-300 baht here, while it’s only 50-70 baht in Ao Nang. Beer and cocktails also have inflated prices, making dining here feel like a regrettable choice.

We also, want to mention the bathroom in our room had destroyed cabinets, a disgusting tub and the bathroom would get strong smells of sewage.

Throughout our stay, we heard many other guests expressing similar frustrations, revealing that they too felt misled by the resort's advertise.

The hotel is a very stunning area with beautiful views. The rooms are large, clean, but dated. The staff is very friendly, but work at a slow pace. The breakfast is terrible and selections limited and repetitive. The food was not covered and the warming trays were not on. The pools look like they have algae.

The property is not a 4 Star Property as advertised on Expedia - it is a 3 Star Property - it is misleading.

The Property advertises that there is a free shuttle to city but there is no free shuttle service - again misleading.

The Breakfast in terrible and needs to improve in its quality.

The staff is very polite and try to help - no complaints against them. Most staff members have limited English speaking skill and at times leading to miscommunication.

The location is nice, quiet and serene with poor connectivity.

A Beautiful Setting with a Few Drawbacks

Arawan Krabi Beach Resort boasts a stunning location right on the water, offering breathtaking views. However, the beach itself is not suitable for swimming, which might be a disappointment for some.

The resort's remote location limits dining options both on-site and nearby. While the staff is friendly and helpful, the inconsistent Wi-Fi was frustrating.

Overall, the resort's beautiful setting and excellent service are overshadowed by the limited beach access and dining options.

Numerous pools are available to guests, depending on which room you book. Quiet resort (in the main) whilst we were there. Food is standard fare, tasty and sufficient although breakfasts became rather monotonous and there was a reluctance to use the heaters under each bain marie to keep the food warm. Rooms were cleaned daily although sometimes insufficient towels were left, and toiletries had to be collected from reception on occasion. Overall friendly and helpful staff. Nice place although not within walking easy walking distance of anywhere.

Lovely if you don’t mind being out of town

A lovely resort in a quiet area, about 10min drive from Ao Nang town centre. We opted to pay a bit more to stay in a room with a swim up pool on the balcony and were so glad we did- it was wonderful. The sun stayed on the room’s pool until about 3pm and it was nice and private.

The main hotel pool itself was fine but dated. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. There is a restaurant but the food isn’t the best. We chose to eat there on our first evening as we were tired and didn’t want to travel far but every other day we went to nearby Ao Nang town which had many restaurants and bars to choose from.

You should consider that although this is described as a ‘beach resort’ you cannot really swim on the beach as it isn’t in a very good condition. This didn’t bother us as we hadn’t planned on using it, instead we took the free resort bus to Ao Nang and visited the beautiful beach there.

Overall a lovely hotel and would stay here again. Would recommend to others if they are happy that they will have to take the bus to Ao Nang as there is nothing nearby the hotel. If you want to be in town with everything on your doorstep this probably isn’t for you. Staff were friendly and the in-room massages were wonderful and very reasonably priced!

1) The WiFi did not work the entire 2 days
2) We booked the property for a beach view, what existed was a blocked sea with garbage and trees in front of the room..the hotel staff stated it is government responsibility and they cannot do anything for it..the pictures showed completely different view then what it turned out to be
3) There were spider webs all over the room, insects and spiders roamed freely in the room..
4) Basic toiletries like a dental kit or toilet rolls were not present, reception staff looked puzzled when asked about it
5) No phone inside the room, one needs to walk upto the reception for any requirement

Resort was very nice. Pool was awesome overlooking the ocean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is definitely out of the way, but the resort does everything they can to accommodate you. Shuttles running all the time to take you into town or to the dock. No beach which was not great, but an awesome sunrise.

Was a very nice place to stay. Out of the way, but the hotel did everything possible to accommodate your needs. They provided shuttle service to everywhere you needed to go. Unbelievable sunrises. Also enjoyed all the little extras like water and coffee in the reception area at all time. The staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately no beach, but still a very beautiful hotel.

3 nice pools in total. During our stay there was a regular free shuttle service into town which was convenient and you dont feel isolated. Rooms were clean. We did struggle to comunicate with reception staff at times and breakfast could have been better. But no major negatives, good value, nice place and based on my stay I would recommend.

I wouldn't stay here again, too far away from anything and their last free shuttle return from Ao Nang is 9.30 pm or you pay 300 baht private. Indifferent staff, just nod their heads to anything you say making it frustrating trying to understand anything. Rooms were fine although aircon was leaking down the wall. Bar on site closes really early and nothing else to do in this area but go to room. Pool was fantastic for swimmers. Rooms at the back adjoin a neighbouring property which is a wood yard and the guy plays same 2 songs from 9am until 7pm repeatedly. Drives you crazy and staff pretend they know nothing about it when you complain - which is funny as the cleaners are cleaning the rooms all day. Wifi was poor.

Poor A/C, Ants, and they don't follow policies.

Pros: Beautiful, quiet area, 3 pools.
Cons: Free shuttle times, was told a card could be used for anything charged to room and when I checked out they would only accept cash, the A/C in our room was very inadequate for the size of room we had (took at least 2 hours to get to a comfortable temperature the 1st night), and we had ants around our bed all night.
Would not stay at again not recommend.

Awesome location. Remote which makes it quiet, no disturbances that keep you awake. Restaurant food is so good and better priced than restaurants in town! They offer free shuttle services to and from the beach and main tourist strip. Staff was so great!! Kind and willing to ensure your stay is comfortable. In room massages were so great and our room and a private pool off the balcony. We loved this place and would stay here again!

Comfortable and very clean room, beautiful gardens and surrounded by impresive karst. The adyacent beach is not for swiming but they offer free shuttle to Ao Nang Beach during specific hours. Very good breakfast buffet, 100 bath daily if not included in the room fee. Staff is nice but, as everybody said in previous reviews, most of them don’t speak english. The pool was the thing I liked the most! I would love to come back to relax for a few days.

The female manager had great customer service and was very pleasant. She helped move us to a better room with a view since we requested and paid for the view. She always had a smile on her face and tried her best to make everyone feel comfortable.

The front desk staff and kitchen staff need A LOT of training! Front desk staff need to be more customer-service oriented. At times, when needing assistance, they made you feel like you were bothering them! For example, the day we changed rooms, we were out and about and when we got back in the evening, we were informed that they moved us. We were happy and one of the guys at the front desk gave us the keys to our new room. When asked where the room was, he merely pointed to its direction. It was very dark and we couldn’t figure out where he was pointing at so we insisted for him to take us to our room. He begrudgingly complied. Glad he did for we could have stumbled down the 4 steps which we didn’t see since it was dark!

The kitchen staff need to get a better understanding of germs and cleanliness. They keep handling food with their hands then will wipe-off them off on their dirty aprons! Gross!

Amazing Stay!

Perfect stay!

Started with only 3 night for a “soft landing” in Thailand and ended up spending a full week.

What can I say?
The rooms are in great condition, all pools are nice and theres a restaurant in the hotel, but the top of my stay is 100% the friendly staff.
They are SOOOO NICE.

There’s a shuttle driving from the hotel to Ao Nang every 3 hours, and pick up from the same place. There’s also tuk-tuk taking you to the closest ferry to Railay Beach for free.

Please notice that the hotel isn’t close to anything by walk, but the shuttles are definitely doing the job. Perfect for those who want to spend their week in a quiet and peaceful place.

Would DEFINITELY recommend!

Paradise at a reasonable price

I love this place ... first of all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. No matter what we needed, they had something to offer and they went out of their way to see to it that we were taken care of. Second, this place is like paradise ... one of Krabi's best kept secrets. The facilities are well maintained, the pools are breathtaking and the renovations being done will only make this a more desirable place to stay than it already is. And last but not least the location can't be beat, right on the water and a ten minute walk to catch a boat to one of the many beaches and islands in the area.

Nice resort w/ beautiful gardens & nice mtn views

We booked a basic aircon room for 1 night on arrival to AoNang. Room was on the lower end of rates for somewhere with a pool. Gardens and open areas kept up beautifully. Beach is not good for swimming as it is close to pier and more for longtail parking but a nice view.

Check in was quick and easy and front desk staff spoke adequate english.
Our room was spacious and clean and had a separate sitting area with a full sized couch that was comfy, fridge, TV that was wall mounted to face either bed or sitting area & a terrace area outside for relaxing. Bathroom had a separate shower area from toilet and good hot water.
**Only downside to room was the bed. We found it to be hard (mattress only on a raised slab) and a little dated.

Included breakfast was only basic but good. English style breakfast (choice of eggs, sausage or bacon, and pancake) made on order. Also had a couple choices of fruit, cereals, juice and toast as well.
This hotel is outside AoNang very close to AoNamMao pier for catching ferries to RailLay beaches and other areas.
Maybe a 10 minute walk to some restaurants and 7-11. We were able to rent a motorbike for 300baht a day at front desk, delivered to hotel in 10 mlinutes.. W/ motorbike only 5-10 minutes drive into AoNang.
Hotel is a bit dated as in other reviews but we found it to be a great stay for the money. Quiet, great mountain views, nice pool area, nice staff & large room.

Prix trop cher pour un 3 étoiles et une chambre avec piscine privée qui ne profite du soleil que jusqu'à 10h du matin à l'inverse de toutes les autres

The architecture ruins the area.
Also the breakfadt is in line with the worst hotel breakfadt i have had.

Et meget slidt og beskidt hotel. Vi måtte flytte værelser (vi havde booket 3 værelser til 9 overnatninger) pga myrer i sengene og det vi tror var en væggelus. De nye værelser vi fik var istandsatte, men også her var der myrer og kakerlakker.
Morgenmaden var dårlig og stod uden overdækning, så myrer og fluer havde fri adgang. Kaffekopperne var gamle og beskidte. Der blev spillet så høj musik til morgenmaden, at flere bad om at få skruet ned for lyden.
Hotellet ligger langt fra byen, men der stod skrevet at der gik en gratis bus frem og tilbage fra byen. Det var så ikke korrekt, det var mod betaling. Hotellet kalder sig for et Beach resort - det kan ikke være mere misvisende, det kan ikke bades i det vand. Det var beskidt og der var meget skrald på stranden.
Det er IKKE et 4 stjernet hotel, som der står beskrevet.

Russisch für Anfänger?

Grundsätzlich war der Aufenthalt perfekt. Ich habe nur schade gefunden, dass ich beim Check-out mit \"Spasiva\" verabschiedet wurde. Netter hätte ich es in der thailändischen Sprache gefunden. Aber sonst war alles sehr zufriedenstellend.

Excellent service from the staff, both the cleaners and the staff in the reception. Spacious rooms, nice swimmingpools. The downside is that the buffet was bad, and there are no restaurants nearby. They have 2 cars that takes you to Ao nang for free, but one of them are difficult to get in and out of. This would be easily solved with a stool to step on, but they don't have it. Most of the other hotel cars in Krabi use a stool, I have noticed. The most negative was that there are no sunbeds or umbrellas at the pool.

Russian techo for dinner at the highest volume. And only rum/whisky and Coke to drink (waiter is surprised when we ask for beer or wine and tell us to check with the reception). But when the served dinner is spaghetti from a cantine maybe it doesn't matter.
The pool was not taken care of. Bottles from the night before was everywhere. Wifi did not work in the room. Workers with hammers were working outside our room almost the whole day. The \"beach\" was about 20 meters long. No mosquito net.
But the lunch was ok.

séjour très agréable et personnel ultra attentif et réactif. Propreté de l'établissement parfaite, petit déjeuner très correct et emplacement de l'hôtel parfait. Gute ruhige Lage, jedoch sehr abgelegen (ca. 6km nach Ao Nang). Bieten zwar kostenlosen Transfer nach Ao Nang (hin und zurück zuvor eintragen in eine Liste), aber wer will schon ständig nach Zeitplan bummeln und an den Strand.
Personal sehr freundlich, diskret und stets bemüht.
Grauenvolle Architektur (alles grau und quadratisch)
Beach Resort ist total übertrieben; der Strand ist eine Müllkippe und niemand geht dort ins Wasser. Zum Baden völlig ungeeignet.
Das Frühstück kann man nach 3 Tagen nicht mehr sehen.
Zimmersafe ließ sich nicht öffnen, also bekamen wir einen Ersatz, natürlich unbefestigt.... \"Safe to go\".

Bel hôtel dans un cadre naturel très agréable.
Malheureusement la plage est inexploitable mais de superbes piscines sont là pour palier à ce désagrément.

Super hôtel pour se reposer au calme.

Hôtel à l'écart et un peu au milieu de nulle part mais très bien pour le calme. Piscines top! Belle chambre mais literie vieillissante pour notre chambre standard. Sinon accueil et cadre parfait.
Restaurant correct niveau qualité sans plus mais pas cher. Petit dej varié chacun trouvera son bonheur. Personnel agréable.
Possibilité de navette gratuite ou 200b si en dehors des créneaux pour rallier la plage ao nang.

Hier wird auf die Hygiene geachtet. Ist mir in der Küche aufgefallen und in den Zimmern. Die Wasserhähne und Duschköpfe sind verkalkt. Sehr gut auch der mehrmals tägliche kostenlose Shuttleservice in die Stadt Ao Nang. Nicht so gut fand ich, dass das Personal nicht gut englisch spricht. Ich würde das Hotel Freunden empfehlen.
