This stay was definitely a mixed bag, I think I was possibly sold on the image of the huts overlooking the sea which was still lovely in person. However a few practicalities like no air conditioning and other comforts I would say this was just an alright stay. I think after so long travelling it maybe just wasn’t our cup of tea but a perfectly reasonable stay if you find the idea of an eco resort appealing and can handle the heat better than me!

Would still recommend but there are plenty of resorts around with better facilities for similar prices

Railay Garden View Resort is eco-friendly, which was fine with us. There's no hot water, fridge or A/C, but they weren't missed. Bottles of water are supplied, and you can refill them anytime at reception.
Situated on the eastern side of the bay at the edge of 'town', it was quiet and convenient. Navigating the 96 steps to our bungalow was a workout, but you're rewarded with exceptional views.
Since we were there in the low season, only tea & toast was available via self-serve for breakfast. This was a sufficient start for the 2 of us, then we'd get a snack at one of the many cafes below.
We enjoyed the simplicity of our stay here and would certainly return.

Taste of paradise

What a beautiful place! It was easy to walk to from the boat. The stairs are a good mini-workout, and the view is stunning. The first evening we were there a group of monkeys scampered across our roof and up onto the bungalow next door where they posed for pictures before disappearing. One tip: bring earplugs for the boat engines. Shower was great, bed was comfortable, and our favourite thing was to sit on the front patio soaking up the view. We were also surprised to get breakfast included with our stay. Highly recommend.

This was a very nice and private resort. There were party areas of the island within walking distance, but this resort is close to that yet also far enough away that it is quiet. Our rooms were clean and we had a couple lizards visit us in the bathroom...they were more scared of us than us of them. A fresh warm breakfast is served daily, which is convenient as well.

It was ok if you don’t mind the basics and no air conditioning. The many flights of stairs to get to the location is pretty crazy, so just be aware of that (it’s a good workout).

Loved that this was eco friendly. The huts were basic but great fun and we had a fabulous sea view. Some nights were noisy due to the long boats but it depends on it being a high tide. Not far to walk to all the beaches and the night life. Lots of steps so you need to be fit. Breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from. Shower was cold but the weather was so hot it didn’t matter at all. We would highly recommend and definitely come back again.

Amazing stay at Railay Beach in this bungalow, in a jungle area overlooking the sea - beautiful views!!!! We stayed here for 4 nights in total, no air con but there was a fab and they had a mosquito net and meshed windows to keep the bugs out. Beautiful place with small breakfast included. Bed was a little hard and shower was cold and the room didn’t get cleaned or towels replaced etc unless you asked - but this didn’t bother us at all as the bungalow location and views were stunning! Would 100% visit again

Worth the view

This place is amazing! When I read reviews I kinda laughed at those who said it was a bit of a hike... it definitely kicked my butt with the heat and my heavy backpack, but once you reach your room it is all worth it! And it's easy when you're not carrying a heavy suitcase. We absolutely loved our stay here. Only regret was not staying longer. The view is beautiful!

Nice huts in forest

These were nice huts In the forest. With amazing breakfast with chunky Thai pancakes with fruit inside either banana or pineapple. The rooms only have fans so was a little bit hot without air conditioning.

It's one of the last resorts on the Railay Beach hotel strip so you have to go a long way to get there. It has nice and clean rooms with mosquito nets over the bed. It's right in the middle of the forest/jungle so you should be cateful...

Perfect place for Railay

Railay is really small so while this place is away from the main beaches, it's still only a short walk away. Plus it more than makes up by having amazing views and the best bungalows. I'd definitely stay here again if I returned to Railay.

Lovely Place, Perfect Location

It's quite a hike up ~100 stairs but well worth it. The view from my room was breathtaking for the sunrise each morning. The staff knew enough english to get by and were very friendly and made a lovely breakfast each morning. They were helpful when I really injured my foot snorkeling. The entire place is very clean and safe (I traveled as a solo female), only critique is the blanket for the bed is just an oversized towel? You won't regret staying here and you'll pay FAR less than the other side of the beach.

Also located about 5-10 min walk from Railay Beach and just upstairs from a few of my favorite bars in the area. Don't miss Tew Lay or the Last Bar!

Great bungalows, all with own space from others in a quiet location up on hillside. Bungalows were in good, clean condition with good sized balcony and garden views. If you have concerns around accessibility then there are 50 steps up to reception, some might find this a problem. Close to local bar and restaurants on east beach. Overall this is great value for money.

Nice view if you dare climbing up there

Very nice small resort, on top of a hill.
The staff is lovely and helpful. Bungalows are clean and the view is amazing.
Noise from the boats coming from the pier is a bit annoying and woke us up several times in the morning. I would recommend this hotel for fit and healthy persons who are not afraid of climbing 20 tough stairs to access reception area by high temperature. But he view really worrh it!

Simple but charming!

Really charming hotel! Set up on the hills of Railey East, the room offered a great view especially for the sunrise if you're up early enough.
Its a bit of a walk from where you are dropped on Railey West but great value once there. The room was clean and exactly as shown in the photos. Its basic but for the money better than expected. Only downside would be the shower which lacked power and heat but that wasnt a surprise having read other reviews.
Only a few minutes walk from all the bars and restaurants which are pretty much all in Railay East.
Most people look at Railay and see the west which is the main beach but East is actually the hub of the area and for a saving of over £100 a night its worth staying in East.
Would definetely stay again!

These are dirty shacks in the wood with bugs

The photos looked clean but truly it's dirty everywhere, the windows the curtains the walls are stained, the bathroom smelled bad, bugs everywhere. They are located 60 steps up in the mountain and they have nothing to sell, nothing to eat nothing to drink. The floor planks are spread apart you can see through. For roughly 1/3 of the price more per night you can lodge youselves in a massive resort 4stars with AC a pool etc. It's a no brainer. The owner is super rude. We ended up renting elsewhere the two nights we had booked there. The owner wouldnt even talk to us/ help us. He was just screaming 'no refund no refund' we were'nt asking for refund... He was just eager to repost his room online to make double the money when we left.

Bungalows on stilts

This is a great place for young people looking for inexpensive accommodations,a great view and a wonderful breakfast. However, for 60+ year olds, the climb up the hill to get there was challenging as was the lack of air conditioning and aging bamboo structures. The decks off each cabin were wonderfulnwhenthe breeze came up. the staff is fine, knows enough English to get by with most guests who know a little English as well.
We should have done more research before booking it, as it wasn't right for us.

Beautiful bungalow

This was a fantastic resort for the price and I would definitely stay again. The bungalows are all private and quiet. You can see the ocean from most of them, save for some overhanging foliage. We received a warm greeting and quick check-in from the staff, who were more than accommodating. The included breakfast was nice and service was quick. There was a mosquito net over the bed, but was barely even needed.
Though it's on the East side of Railay (not the prettiest), it's only a very short walk to the opposite coast. And by cost-comparison, it's so much cheaper on this side of the peninsula. Well worth the walk, as I probably would've missed out on a lot of the cave paths had I not had this inclination for exploration. It's also very close to Lucky's Last Bar where I had the best red snapper of my life. Also, very close to the massage parlours, which are way cheaper on the East Coast. I got an intense hour-long massage for under $10, with tip.

Loved the location and Railay is very beautiful however our room was the highest in the complex with over 250 very deep steps to climb! We are moderately fit but these stairs were a killer!!!

Great location, staff are friendly and a good breakfast. The room itself was very small and the bed was tight for two people, especially as you have to use a mosquito net. Cold shower only and no fridge in the room.

Quiet getaway

I had a nice stay - I was looking for quiet so this place is down the end and up lots of steep stairs. The room was basic, but fine. No one cleaned my room in the four days I was there, but they might if you ask. When I arrived they said they serve coffee in the mornings but there was no food, so you have to walk to one of the other hotels to eat. Was clean and comfortable with a nice view out to sea.

Enjoy the scenery it provides

Quiet, perfect for tranquility and being with nature. Good for couples.

One down point is that it's a bit far from the main happening area of East Railay. Also a bit of a walk to the main beaches. Breakfast is very basic (which is not a problem to us). Internet is slow.

We got the sea view room and was perfect. If you like to be in contact with nature that's the place to be. There is no hot water in the shower, what may be a problem for some people. But it was so hot that didn't metter. Breakfast with the usual plus pancakes.

Just one thing that We didn't like was,,,the toilet was not working well and it was hard to flush! However , kudos to the staff..when we told him about it he immediately fixed it made sure that it won't happen again! This resort is well recommended! So quiet especially at night and the view was breathtaking.

Nice hotel but no easy access!!

I stayed in this hotel with my sisters for 4 days 3 nights. The place was good and they provide free breakfast. They have good customer service but we struggle a little bit to climb up the stairs every time we goes out and get back. We had hard time to access to the hotel from Krabi town. The longtail boat charged 3 of us 1000THB and they dropped us at Railay West and we walked almost 20 mins to Railay East. Luggage are not advisable!!!! Overall it was a good stay but it will be great if they had air conditioned in their huts.

Although the bay felt like it was on a spring break hangover, we enjoyed our stay. Its not a place for frills - its not tricky to get there, but it takes some planning, its a bit of a walk from the bay at low tide, its a hike up a lot of stairs, the room was clean but sparse. It felt like camping - this would have been a blast with some friends. The price was great for the accommodations - and it was near a lot of restaurants. A fun, unique experience.

This was ideal for us as budget travellers. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! Bungalows were perfect for is as we didn't spend too much time in them. We stayed in a fan room, it was warm at nigt. Big climb up and down, not a problem for us but it might not be suitable for some. Great stay

L'ambientazione stupenda e' il coronamento di questo resort in cui chi viene sposa una idea green di turismo. Attenzione a volerlo per scelta: l'energia elettrica serve solo a luci e ventilatore, non c'e' acqua calda, frigo, aria condizionata, asciugacapelli, tv. Le pulizie sono a richiesta. Molti ripidi gradini portano ai bungalow in legno e bamboo spartani immersi nella jungla e affacciati sul mare. A volte le scimmiette vengono a far compagnia. Tutto il personale e' cortese e attento. La colazione e' buona e te' e caffe' disponibili tutto il giorno. Chi viene qui non lo faccia per caso.

Das Hotel liegt am ruhigen Teil der Halbinsel. Restaurants und Bars sind fußläufig und schnell zu erreichen, die Strände nach ca 10-15 Minuten. Die Bungalows haben je nach Kategorie einen wunderbaren Meerblick oder auf die begrünte Anlage. Wir haben uns super erholt und würden es jederzeit wieder für einen Aufenthalt wählen. Wer keinen großen Luxus benötigt und eine authentische Unterkunft sucht, ist hier genau richtig!

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Die Zimmer mit Seaview sind fantastisch. Wasser steht jederzeit zur Verfügung und das Frühstück war mehr als ausreichend, man kann aus 5 Gerichten auswählen, zudem steht ein kleines Buffet bereit.

Nice bungalow with beautiful view. Bungalow is located on the hill and there is a lot of stairs to get there. Breakfest is very good, you can choose omlette, scramble eggs, pancakes. There is a free water available during all day. The only minus are longboats. They are really laud and it is impossible to really rest.

The hotel is located on a hill and you have to climb a bit until you have reached the rooms. The view over the bay is stunning. The staff is helpful and can be friendly and sometimes moody. The breakfast was one of the best in Thailand (thai standard) again with stunning view.
The room was nice but the bathroom was really smelly. We would definitely cone again.

Die Anlage ist sehr schön und die Aussicht war insbesondere von den obersten Bungalows sehr gut. Etwas ab vom Schuss und etwas angewohnt. Frühstück für den Preis sehr gut. Das Badezimmer war bissl grindig.

Le bungalow tout en bois avec balcon était tres agréable, très grand lit et vue magnifique,mais qui se mérite: une centaine de marches pour y arriver(surtout quand on debarque avec ses bagages...), sanitaires corects mais pas d'eau chaude. Petit dejeuner tres agréable aussi sur la terrasse, dommage d'entendre toujours les bateaux, mais a Railey aucune plage n'est épargnée...

Lugnt boende lite väl långt från ”centrum” kanske. Bungalowen var fräsch och mysig men man hörde allt runt i kring. Båtar, djur, röster, öronproppar ett tips! Frukost okej men rätt mycket myror... Endast kallvatten i duschen och ganska lång trappa upp till boendet. Duger några dagar om man inte är allt för bekväm.

Leí comentarios no muy buenos del hotelen las opiniones y me quede alli porque no quedaba ningun otro libre. La habitacion con unas vistas increibles, la limpieza bien, el encargado atento y las condiciones en general buenas. Como unica pega, no tiene agua caliente, pero tampoco esta especialmente fria y hace bastante calor en la zona. El desayuno fue delicioso y con unas vistas increibles!

Acorde a los precios de Railay

Caro en relación a otros lugares de Tailandia, pero vale la pena ir a Railay. El hotel tiene lindas vistas pero está alejado y para llegar hay solo escaleras así que no recomiendo para alguien con movilidad reducida. El desayuno normal al igual que el personal. Fue la opción que encontramos en Railay, no demasiado costosa y con puntaje aceptable.

Quarto aconchegante e super confortável!!!

O bangalô que ficamos é uma graça, a cama é super confortável, na verdade foi o melhor lugar quanto a conforto que passamos pela Tailândia! Porém o hotel é o último do lado leste e tem uma subidona de escadas pra chegar na recepção e mais uma subida para o quarto!!! Como estávamos de mochilão foi bem cansativo ir andando do pier ate o hotel mas eles tem um elevador para subir com as malas e ajudou bastante!!! O café da manha é bem básico como todos na Tailândia, frutas (abacaxi e melancia) pão e cafe!!! Mas a vista do restaurante é linda!!!

Aardige mensen maar gek van geluid

Aardige mensen, maar er zaten termieten oid in mijn kamer. Ik werd gek van het geluid, de eerste dag dacht ik dat het regende. Verder prima verblijf, maar ik ben wel eerder weggegaan. Dit had eerlijk gezegd ook te maken met Railay zelf, wat zo toeristisch is, dat je je er eigenlijk niet meer kunt ontspannen.

Detta hotell ligger mycket vackert o högt upp, ca 70 trappsteg. Mycket enkelt, lite typiskt för Thailand som det var för några år sedan. Bambuhyddor med endast fläkt o kallvatten inget kylskåp, men mycket gemytligt. Frukostmatsalen ligger högt o ut mot havet en fantastisk utsikt med en enkel men bra frukost. Vi har bott här 5 gånger o tycker det är lika mysigt varje gång o ett bra pris för att ligga på Railay.
