We stayed at Railay Princess for 5 nights and enjoyed the convenient airport transfer (has to be requested but worth it), friendly staff, great breakfast, convenient location on the quiet side of Railay and close to the docks, and two swimming pool options. The rooms while clean and nicely appointed could benefit from minor upgrades/refresh, especially the bathrooms. We were 4 families with each their room. In some rooms, the toilets were not flushing very well requiring several flushes which seems counter-productive in an area where water is scarce. All bathroom floors are set slightly lower than the bedroom floors with a small step with a tiled/sharp edge that's not easily visible or detectable. We all hurt our feet a couple of times (one of us even got a cut in the middle of the night and had to get a bandage) before our brains registered and remembered that step. In some rooms, there were whiff of sewage/drainage issues which is pretty common across Railay; most likely a sign of the sewage/drainage system being overloaded and/or requiring upgrade. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would encourage the resort to keep up the good work and make a few minor upgrades to reach 5 star status.

Grate location, helpful & friendly staff, rooms are nice and spacious, the wildlife around is super cool to see, the pool area is grate too; the only downside (but same everywhere during the dry season on railay due to low water levels) the tap/shower water was salty not really a big deal but the staff did offer bottled water to rise off with after the shower which was thoughtful like I said the staff are very helpful and will always offer help where they can overall I would stay here again

The resort was nice, with a good breakfast, and nice comfy beds and two nice pools. The only main problem was that on one of the days they cut all the water while i was in the shower... while on the day before they sent a notification that this would happen, on the second day they did not, and i ended up with a head full of conditioner and o way to wash it off...

Our room was beautiful. Quiet location though still close to all the fun and beauty of Railay. The Pools were both fantastic (though the roof pool could use more seating as it is very popular). What really made it was the staff! The woman hosting the breakfast buffet telling me about the resident cat after she saw me petting it, or the other cleaning staff member who, when I mention my husband was staying in with an upset stomach, made sure to give me lots of bottles of water, juice boxes, among other little things to keep him comfortable. Our favorite part was watching the cute monkeys visit the trees in front of our patio in the mornings. We wish our stay was longer!

We had a lovey stay at the hotel, it just needed updating. The breakfast was brilliant and the location was fantastic, perfect side to watch a sunrise and very short walk to watch it set on the West side.
Rooms were the small problem, it just needs investment as all a little dated.

Many mosquitoes in the room. Not sure where they were coming from (fans, vents, A/C, etc.) but each night I would kill a couple on the walls before I went to bed, and I would wake up with a bite or two on my face or arms. Everything else was great (service, food, pool)

Best stay on Railay beach, especially considering the price. The staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfy, the shower pressure is perfect, and they even have a rooftop pool. It is a convenient walk to the beach and laundry services. Highly recommend!

Fabulous location right by the boat pier. Our room overlooked a pond and the pool at the back of the property. Incredible for wildlife viewing, fish, monitor lizards, birds and monkeys. Breakfast was varied and plentiful with a lovely relaxed setting. I wouldn’t really think this was 4 stars though. Bathroom design was not ideal with nowhere to even place your toothbrush! Never loan any makeup. Only one power plug for the entire room! No power points beside the bed.

Railay beach is a must for any trip to southern Thailand, absolutely beautiful. Don’t forget to check out Phara Nang Beach as it is even better. For the price this resort is a such a fantastic deal. Perfect location, amazing rooftop pool, great rooms. Service and food were decent (nothing bad to say at all just spent a lot of time at other restaurants). Although technically not an island, you can only access by boat and therefore it functions like an island in all the best ways, as it feels very tropical and removed from the mainland for a relaxing and authentic feel. It takes 15 minutes to boat there and we had no problem at all during the hours of 8-6 to get there and back from the Krabi/Ao Nang. Such a highlight of our trip, nothing negative to say.

Felt like a scam the whole time. Have been going to Railay for over ten years now and have been by this hotel numerous times and looked very nice but had never stayed there.
When I arrived I was put in a real shabby building which u cannot see from walking street. The room was really embarrassing with an old, moldy bathroom, useless WiFi and a bed that had been to war.
After two days of complaining about the WiFi, I was upgraded but still not to the main building but to the top floor of the same building I was already in. The room was nicer and the WiFi was slightly better but there was a terrible smell coming from the bathroom. When I informed staff, they seemed to careless and a few hours later put in a candle. Despite these problems staff never checked back in to see how everything was. Also on the night before checkout I asked for a late checkout and they said to call back at 8am and then maybe they would give me a half hour more.

In the end it was very disappointing. The place was falling apart and the staff had an attitude of caring less. Almost like they know it’s bad but figure most people will stay 1-2 nights and be gone. In the end I moved to my regular hotel (which had been sold out) next door which felt like a palace for the same price

I still think about this property to this day. First and foremost the breakfast was great. Location is superb because it’s the resort closest to the main dock, so if you’re doing excursions - you don’t have to wake up so early to walk to the dock or when you arrive/leave you won’t have to take your bags very far. Views from every angle of this hotel are insane. You can see the beautiful rocks and ocean every which way. The room itself is huge and ac works fabulous. I did really enjoy all the close bars and restaurants near by. There’s also a nail salon in walking distance that was great. At night there is bioluminescence in the water, so a night swim is always fun. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe and secure in my room. Make sure to check out all the beaches near by, some may not be available to access until the tide goes down so ask a local to help show you. I can’t wait to come here again

No hot water which was pretty shocking to realize, this seems like a very basic commodity. Also the sheets on our bed had holes in them, seems like some basic maintenance and cleaning could go a long way here. Also the WiFi was terrible, if you’re a digital nomad you won’t be able to work here. Nice staff, great location nice pool, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Few minutes walk to the Phra nang Beach is the very nice sandy, bat cave is there for everyone can go up and most restaurants menu are there for wide variety of food options. If you like to fly a personal drone, you need to get a permit before you get there.

The resort was so much better than we had anticipated. We were greeted with smiling staff, a welcome drink and cold towel.
Our room was super spacious with a wonderful balcony with views of the towering rocks, pool area and playful monkeys. The breakfast buffet was the best we had during our 5 island hop. Really good quality food, great variety and continuously refilled. A new bottled water was provided in room for each guest daily, and from our experience, they didn't mind guests refilling at breakfast station which is not always allowed. Thanks goes to the staff for not over scrutinizing the guests, this was a refreshing experience!! I'm not sure why people insist on writing reviews complaining about a bad smell. The resort is located in a natural environment, it is not Disney World! The smell that everyone is mentioning is not faulty water system, it is the smell of surrounding mangroves. Mangroves do have a sulfur (gassy) smell on occasion when the tide is low. Wonderful pools and nice gym. Everything is easily accessible from this location. We loved Railay!

The staff are excellent. This location is very nice for all kinds of activities from hanging around the pretty beach to boat trips to the islands. Its not on the west side, but its so close it does not matter. You can save money and book this hotel and walk to the west side very easily. Only accessible by boat, but the boat trip is short and pretty simple. Shopping like crazy close by. Very chill area.

Pasamos unos dias excelentes. Muy lindo el hotel y las instalaciones. El personal muy amable, aunque es complicado hacerse entender tanto en la recepcion como con el resto del personal del hotel porque no hablan mucho ingles.
Tienen dos piletas, pero te atienden solo en una y eso me resulto un poco incomodo porque tenes que estar yendo de una punta a la otra a pedir cosas, incluso para usar el baño.
La comida muy rica y la ubicacion es excelente.
Faltan tachos de basura, tal vez con algun sistema de cerrado co gancho. uno encuentra desperdicios por todos lados, botellas y vasos de plastico debido a los animales.

This hotel is a good option for staying at Railay. It is very close to the East Railay pier, so if you are travelling with luggage, it is easy to get to and from. The rooms are spacious with good sized balconies. Housekeeping wasnt great though. There are horrible drain smells from the srain in the bathroom.floor sometimes and the bathrooms weren't cleaned thoroughly during our stay, only on arrival. The pool areas are good, and the pools are clean.
Breakfast wasn't great. The food is kept in heated buffet servers, but they are not kept heated, so hot items like eggs and sausages are cold.

We had requested some information about how to get to the hotel but there seemed to be some communication issues. All sorted in the end. The stay was amazing. The breakfast was a good start to the day. The rooms were cleaned well each day considering the amount of sand that seemed to appear each day from us. The beaches are stunning and we could easily have spent another four days and been very happy. The hotel is located next to the floating pier so very easy to get to. Would definitely stay again.

Charged THB150 for face towel -Dirty from rain

I have been staying at Railay Princess since 2016 and experience a variety of great satisfaction but also with occasional frustration. This trip July 2022, they charged me THB150 for a face towel that was stained from the red rocks of Railay hills. It was raining and we got caught on a hike - and how ridiculous to charge for the stain as this is what a Hotel should provide even if it means its a stain - how else did you want us to wipe off ? Our OWN TOWEL ? Why do we Boook a Hotel then ? SO UPSET and reception is like talking to a WALL. Other than that, pick up arrangements, breakfast, aircon, hot water - every works.

Very unique peninsula isolated from mainland so feels like an island. Railay Bay and Princess are sister hotels (beach is on bay side = west). They have their own boat and parking lot (50 baht)-runs 8, 2, 6 pm and own parking. Very sweet place and very good service.

Watch out for the artificial “orange juice” at breakfast buffet...Some kind of chemical concoction. Tried to charge for every little thing. ugly views and bad smells. Island needs sewage treatment and tap water is very salty.

Railay is Gorgeous island though, just being destroyed by over tourism and lack of pollution control.

Ao Nang is far worse. Overbuilt tacky tourist town with even worse sewage problem.

Our two room stink into a ungraded odor and the staff don't make anything to try to resolve our problem. Their response was If we don't like, we can't go. We understand that may the are full but minimum if they want that we stay under that condition is to apply us a refund because we pay to pass a good vacation into agradable ambiente and that was just what we can't get in that hotel.
