CityInn Hotel Plus East in Taichung is excellent. The staff are kind and helpful. The lobby and main floor has plenty of seating areas to relax, check your smartphones, and hang out after a long day.

The breakfast buffet is superb. Lots of good choices and the food is delicious. The breakfast seating and service area is very nice and pleasing.

NOTE: Free Laundry is great except their dryers were hit and miss. Other patrons were also having issues with the dryers not being hot enough, even on high heat. Took about 3 hours to dry where as it would take 30 mins in coin laundry. I'd recommend to go to a nearby coin laundry place if time is sensitive.

CityInn TaiChung

It is very close to Taichung station (2 minutes walk) and there is a bus station close to the hotel (30 secs walk) and will take you everywhere. Taichung station has bus stations that will take you to further places like Feng Chi Night Market (1 hr to 1.5 hr). Hotel use tab card so access is very safe. Check in is 24 hours and has coffee and lemon juice service. Breakfast is very good, lots of Taiwanese cuisine. Hotel is very clean and provide amenities (sandals, toothbrush and tooth paste). They also have self serve laundry service which is excellent for long term stay.

The location is close to the train station. The hotel quality is worth the value. The staff are friendly and helpful. Ashley helped me booked the tour to Sun moon lake. They even called the tour guide to make sure I board the bus .

About the Sun moon tour: 2000twd for one person and 2nd person free. Including everything: transportation, lunch, cable car, boat, bicycle. And a free temple visit. It was a fun whole day tour. I would feel bad if I don’t tip the guild twd200.

Overall, a fun two day visit.

The bathroom has a high curb on the floor which my wife accidentally hurt her toe. But the hotel staff responded immediately by putting a rubber buffer over it. When wifi signal was weak, the hotel immediately put an additional router in the room. The service and response to our feedback is just excellent, especially the front desk staff Ms Helen Chen.

Fantastic hotel a short walk from the main train station. The staff are very nice and accommodating and there’s a free drink station providing ice tea and coffee. Wonderful hotel, very near to Taichung Station and convenient for getting around. Free parking was a nice bonus and the breakfast was better than expected. No complaints at all. Staff were lovely as well. Room was clean and modern with a great shower (very good water pressure). I'd definitely choose to come back next time :-)

Enjoyed the stay at this cosy hotel.The front desk staff are very friendly and nice.Especially Gary and Linda,which assist to arrange a cab for us to catch our last minute late night flight back home. Friendly and efficient front desk service with special requests fulfilled. Most rooms in hotel are small but clearly stated in the hotel booking description and clean. Hotel has carpet instead of hardwood floor in the room that I stayed in which makes luggage maneuver a bit difficult in the small space. However, warm bidet toilet seat is a great bonus feature in the washroom during winter time. Minor suggestion for the hotel would be to provide 2 pillows per person instead of only 1 since most standard hotels nowadays come with at least 2 pillows/person. FREE self-laundry service although dryer needs 2-3 runs. FREE breakfast buffet even though limited selection. Walkable to Taichung train station, Miyahara cookie store and Takoro mall/Showtime cinema. Overall, a hotel with great CP value - highly recommended for solo traveler with short stay in Taichung.

Amazing hotel and service

This hotel deserves a higher rating and could easily teach 5 star hotels how to provide an amazing customer service and experience. Firstly the location is perfect being close to the train station, with a multitude of shopping and food options just nearby, and within easy walking distance.

The service from the staff is nothing but exceptional from check in through to check out and everything in between. Nothing was too difficult and queries or concerns were addressed immediately. The staff really need a special commendation.

The best part of the hotel experience was also the free flow of milk tea, tea and coffee, and even free laundry self service laundry.

The room, bedding ,facilities and amenities were clean, comfortable and of the utmost highest standards. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is in a great location for travellers coming in from the train (about 3 mins from the train station) and it’s 2 mins from a convenience store and 8 mins from a big mall. It’s very clean and well presented. The staff all speak excellent English and are super helpful. The hotel has free snacks in the room, a free laundry and free drinks in the common area. The rooms are as soundproofed as advertised and the room size was perfect for me (as a solo traveller). Special shout out to Gary who helped organise a day trip for me to Sun Moon Lake at the very last minute (late afternoon the day before). I can’t recommend this hotel enough and if I ever come back, I will stay here again.

The hotel room is very small but that is to expected in Taiwan. The bathroom however makes up for it. It was spacious and clean. I absolutely love, love the rain showerhead with mind-blowingly super strong water pressure. It was so enjoyable to take a hot shower after a long day out.
The staff was absolutely amazing. They were professional and very friendly. They were eager to help you in anyway possible.
There is a dining table and kitchen with plates, bowls and utensils for you to use. There was also a water dispenser to refill your bottle.
Bonus point that they let to store your luggage before check in time.
The location of the hotel was very convenient as it was minutes walking to Taichung Train Station and to the popular Miyahara Ice Cream Shop. There were also many good restaurants nearby and a mall within walking distance.

The property is modern and well kept. The staff is friendly and efficient. The self serve laundry was free and much appreciated. It was very convenient to be right next to the train station and walking distance to the Miyahara ice cream shop.

Amazing Hotel beside Train Station

Hotel is clean and funky. Got a free fruity champagne for our wedding anniversary. Breakfast menu changes everyday. Service is awesome. Thanks to staff Ashley for the great recommendations of the city. Will definitely stay again next time.

This hotel is not a big hotel but is managed well. It is providing a good service and customer care. Closeness to Taichung station is another advantage if you commute to other area by train. There are many restaurants and a big shopping mall. So i can recommend this place.
