Right across the street from the main train station. We went looking for lunch in one direction and the neighbourhood was very ethnic Vietnamese, Filipina and other SE Asian with virtually no Taiwanese restaurants around for many blocks. We should have headed in the opposite direction to encounter Taiwanese cuisine. Exterior of the building looked like it could do with some work but the inside was fine. Rooms were functional and the breakfast included was simple. Hotel looked underwhelming from the street and entrance but was clean and central.

This hotel is right by the train station and is not the only Norway hotel. Please pay attention , especially if you have a trip planned that picks you up at the hotel. I stayed at Norway 1, and just 2 minutes walk there was a Norway 3. At first I was also confused finding it, as the Uber driver dropped us at the nearby hotel. It is attached to Hotel Lesure Taichung ( super nice in the lobby). By mistake we entered there and the girl took us to the right one , just next door. The Norway hotel was very colorful and did not seem like a usual hotel. The lobby area was pretty small and the girls working there spoke no English. Thanks to the Google translate. We checked in earlier and they were kind to keep our luggage till we went to visit Rainbow Village. The room had a huge king size bed, but it was pretty small in general. We got coffee and tea makers, as well as toiletries ( soap, tooth paste and brush, hair comb). The room was at the 7th floor facing the train station. It is also very close to the mall( just across from the train station) which is on the other side of the street.
The hotel offers complimentary breakfast at the second floor. To go up and down you have to wait for quite some time for the elevator, as there is only one. The room was very clean, the only downside was that the bathroom had a glass door that you can see shadows through, and there is no shower cabin, just the bathtub one. If you are a pretty tall person, be mindful as the shower head is quite lower

The hotel is literally a short walking distance to Taichung railway station and bus interchange as well as Miyahara. Super convenient to take bus to Yizhong and Fengjia night market. We travel around Taichung via public transport. It was also hassle free after we check out and take train to high speed rail station when we travel back to Taipei. Will choose to stay in Norway forest again.

Quirky , clean and cheap

booked this hotel last min on my way to Taichung from the HSR train and it really was a fun little place. It had a quirky design like a lot of hotels in Taiwan if you don't mind that.
The staff was very helpful and friendly! the Room was a nice size for 2 people, the bathroom was more for 1 person at a time, but the shower was really nice pressure and the Price was great ! the ONLY problem for me was the pillows being too firm. thats all! and i travel and stay in hotels all over the world. So if you just want a clean place to sleep then its here. also the train station is outside the door if you are taking that. and the HSR station is about a $250 NT taxi ride away.

The hotel is right across Taichung Railroad station (which is NOT the MRT) and has a lot of dining and shopping options nearby. The hotel is a small property but it has quite some activities, especially for the kids. Beware that there are always a big crowds outside of the front door of the hotel after dark.

The condition and the size of the room was good enough for a short stay. Their check-in time is late perhaps because they only have one small elevator and they couldn't have too many cleaning crews working at the same time. The breakfast quality was alright, but you could see their thoughtfulness when they tried to provide different items on the two consecutive days I went.

Overall it is a pleasant stay, considering the low price.

It’s a hotel right next to the Taichung Train Station. But don’t expect much. The lobby is congested. There is only one rather small elevator for all 11 floors and it runs super slow. I ended up rather just taking the stairs to get to my room on the 7th floor.

If you travel for business or expect to do online meetings, I would not recommend as the internal connection is probably the slowest I have experienced in dozens of hotels I stayed in 10+ counties including quite a few in Taichung.

On the day of checking out, I was trying to download and upload a few documents before the check out time at 11 am.

The internet worked so slow that it took forever to download/upload a few documents of about 10MB each.

Normally it should take no more than a few minutes… but it ran for 15+ mins and still running … yet at the same time, the front desk kept on calling you to check out … even it was just hit the check out time at 11 am. I were all ready to go down stairs to check out if I was not held up waiting for slow internet.

This will be on the very bottom of my list when I travel to Taichung next time. There is another hotel, Hotel 53, I stay during my last trip, just about a few mins walk away is many times better.

Check in was a breeze. Staff are polite. Room is exactly as shown in photos. Surprised that there is sound system in the room, great when watching movies. Room is small but comfortable. Bath tub is great, kids loved it. Hotel has a small kids play area and has roof top access to see a good view of the station.

The hotel has its name changed to Norway Forest Travel Hotel 1 Taichung.
Very obvious that the hotel is new despite changing hand, and in great condition. The family and kid friendly theme with paintings of Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz are woven in throughout the hotel seamlessly, at the lift landings and in the ceilings above the beds in the guest room.
What deserves most credit is the amazing bathroom with separated bath and toilet. Bath comes with two shower heads- one for a shower and the other for the French bath tub.
Excellent service from all staff and overall, a fantastic stay.
Fantastic location just across from Taichung Station and well located near shops, eateries and within walking distance to 2 Malls.

Definitely the best hotel of my trip to Taiwan this year!

Quite cool. But the tap is a little too high. And splashes too much. There is also only 1 drainage outlet and no raised area for shower zone, hence the entire bathroom gets wet during showers.
However, on the overall still a nice place to stay at, and highly accessible, will recommend, thank you!

First of all, the location of the hotel immediately across the street from the train station is incredibly convenient. (By the way, in two trips to the Taichung Station from which I have walked to my hotel, Google Maps always attempts to walk me out the back of the station and the very long way around the block! Don't do that! The station has a very prominent front entrance, which points you directly at the Blues Hotel.)
When I arrived after a late train, but with plenty of work to do, the staff immediately offered me a coffee, which I accepted. But, since my hands were full, the front desk employee literally walked me to my room on the fifth floor holding the coffee, pushing the elevator button, and unlocking the door with the key card. The decor in the hotel is fun, if a bit kitschy. The hotel still appears very newly renovated. The room itself is cozy — about the size you should expect in an urban setting. The bed is comfortable and clean. The desk space is adequate, and complete with a nice single-serve coffee maker and a water kettle. Lighting is very nice, with well-located and marked switches. The bathroom is small but well-appointed. There is no closet, just a hanger rack, which is fine with me. It would have been nice to have an iron and ironing board. Breakfast is in an airy and spacious dining area on the second floor. Food is on par with other hotel breakfasts I've had in Taiwan.

台鉄台中駅のすぐ前に隣設。バスや台鉄を利用するのに大変便利。ツイン部屋に2泊。室内は少々窮屈だが清潔感がある。テレビのリモコンのテレビ側の受信機が不調だったので応急処置。トイレットペーパーは流せないので注意。

駅前の好立地です。台中駅のデッキから嫌でも目に入り、夜になると派手なイルミネーションがキラキラして絶対に迷う事は有りません。玄関入ると右手にフロントカウンターと言ってもパソコンモニターが並んでいてレジストレーションするスペースは有りません。ロビーらしき物も無く寛ぐ事も出来ない。エレベーターで１０階へ上がるとこれまたお伽の国の様な装飾で、思わず笑っちゃいます。
部屋は広くキングサイズのダブルベッドでゆったりと寛げます。バスタブは無くシャワーブースでアメニティも揃っていて、ウォシュレットも完備。他の必要な備品も一通り揃っているので全く問題有りません。駅側の部屋だったので窓からは台中駅が目の前です。
スタッフの対応は今一つという感じです。笑顔が有って好感は持てるのですが、意思の疎通が上手く行かず、簡単な英語が通じなかった。
両替(外貨の両替では無く台湾ドルを細かく)を頼んでも通じす、部屋のメモ用紙が無くなったので貰おうとしても通じす、その度に翻訳アプリでやり取りしていた。
台中は台湾第二の都市で様々な人種の人が来るで有ろうから、もう少し何とか。と言う感じです。

不算太愉快

隔壁是親子房，暑假期間遇到小孩吵鬧到半夜2點，隔音不是很好，對噪音敏感的需要特別注意。飯店櫃檯在退房前半小時就會打房內電話提醒，也許是被太多房客超時所以特別憂心？但個人感覺很受打擾。整體打掃還要加強，入住第一天發現房間提供的瓶裝礦泉水是打開過的，衛生問題堪憂。

　駅のすぐ前です。近くにはバス停もあり、交通はこれ以上望めないほどです。
　部屋は広くて、きれいです。シャワーもトイレも清潔です。テーブルの上には数種類のお茶やコーヒー、スナックが置いてありました。窓がありませんが、苦になりませんでした。
　朝ごはんは基本的に中華系のおかずですが、パンやサラダなどもありました。おいしかったです。なお、ロビーは狭いのですが、コーヒーが置いてあって自由に飲めます。
　とにかく便利で安くて清潔なので、台中に来る時はまた利用します。

子ども(4才)が、ホテル内の遊具をとても気に入っていた。一階と地下一階をぶち抜いた滑り台・ボールプールで、ずっと遊んでいた。台鉄の台中駅前。建物の外観が特殊なので見つけやすい。駅から見える。入り口が狭く、フロントの雰囲気が暗く(デザイン)、カードキーがボロいし、廊下は黄色いし、最初は不安だったが、部屋の中はとてもきれいで良かった。照明は不思議だったが、風呂とトイレが分かれていて、浴槽が広い。朝食は微妙だった。
