Had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The receptionists, Linda and Cliff, were especially friendly, polite, and super helpful. They even went out of their way to help us check restaurant availability, which we really appreciated. Another big plus was the 24-hour self-service laundry, very convenient and easy to use. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Would definitely recommend.

You can barely close the door when you sit down on the toilet. The toilet seat is so small that you can barely feel you have enough space.

For the price, the location is great. Family mart and police station just next to the hotel.
The famous Miyagi Ice-cream place is just 1min away.

Room was on top floor, newly revamped but can improve a little on the design and usability.

No wardrobe thus no iron, no bathrobe, only a simple coat hanger. very tight shower with no place to put your toiletries. toilet is good with electronic bidet but both cubicles are just smoked screened so privacy is a concern for non-couples.

Table is on the floor with a big mat, and a single arm chair with leg rest at the corner.
King size bed is huge. Doesn't provide extra pillows.

Beautiful property just minutes from Taichung Railway station. Room was well furnished and staff were welcoming. They have a free laundry room for guests which is really handy. Right across from Miyahara for all your ice-cream and dessert needs. Plenty of food options within a walking distance.

A Good Hotel in Taichung

Located in the enter of old Taichung city close to the main train station. Good restaurants and confectioneries are within walking distance. Room is spacious, and the king bed is way bigger than its counterpart you see in America.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Poor Service and Refund Request

Dear Expedia / 53 Hotel Name,

On our second day, the air-conditioning in our room was not working. Despite our request for a room change, we were only provided with a fan. As the situation was unacceptable, we decided to check out early.

When we asked for a refund, we were told we must go through Expedia, and the staff’s response was extremely rude. This experience left me very disappointed with both the hotel and Expedia’s service.

Due to this incident, I will not consider using Expedia for my future bookings unless the matter is resolved promptly. I request a full refund for the unused nights of our stay.

Liked hotel, close to TRA. The room was spacious, However, there is only one hook with 3 hangers in the entire room. No shelfs or drawers to put/hang anything. Literally had to live out of my suitcase for the 4 days we stayed there. No hooks in bathroom either to hang clothes. The bathtub design is lacking that water will drip out to floor when showering. The use of free laundry machine was a bonus. Loved the location of hotel as it is very convenient for travelling on buses and train.

It was very central to Taichung main station but if you want to see the rainbow village or the gaomei wetlands you're going to have to travel VERY far. One of the main things close is Myahara, the ice cream shop.

Location was perfect, just opposite Miyahara. For those who plan to book tours from Klook, this will be an ideal hotel as Miyahara is one of the pickup location. Room is relatively spacious except the walls are really thin and not a good thing for light sleepers. The shower screen could also be done better as it only covers partially. 53 Hotel Service Staff at the reception counter was attentive to our needs and assisted us with our check in promptly and effectively.

The double bed room was super spacious and very clean. We are very impressed with the free on site laundry which provided us convenience and save us money in washing/ drying our soiled laundry.

The hotel is strategically located nearby the Taichung Train Station and there are nearby food eateries and shopping streets.

This was the best stay I had on my Taiwan trip. This is a full-service, 3-star hotel with great service, but it only charged BnB prices.
The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. They're very willing to help with the stay and tourist directions.
I had two different rooms and they were all quite spacious. It seems all rooms have windows and some have a nice city view.
The bathrooms are where the hotel shows its age. They're, however, clean and well-maintained.
The hotel is minutes away from the central station and the stop for the Sun Moon Lake bus and there are many breakfast spots in the nearby streets. Miyahara, one of the must-visit spots, is right opposite the street.

It is a nice hotel and just 3 minutes walk to Taichung train station. Staff was professional and helpful. The hotel provides free laundry service, gym and has a water dispenser at the lobby. The only thing l didn’t really like was the basin with a small water outlet. I do understand that it’s to prevent food being washed down the basin but it takes a while for water to go through the small outlet. Overall, a good stay while visiting Taichung.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. Check-in was smooth, and the room, especially with the two queen beds in the family room I booked, was excellent. Cleanliness was outstanding. The hotel offers a refill station and a practical self-service laundry facility. Breakfast is available for an additional charge, but in my opinion, it may not be worth it. Thankfully, we encountered no noise disturbances during our stay, likely due to effective sound insulation or considerate neighbors. Overall, it was a delightful stay.

Great location. Great staff service. They are very friendly here. My complaint would be that rooms are a little old and need updating for the price. But, everything works. And, the breakfast is extremely mediocre - so don’t waste your tummy on that.

One of the nicest hotels in the train station area

Lovely hotel just across from the train station square. Chic design from lobby to room. Spacious and well-designed room with everything a traveller needs and a comfortable lounge chair. As a Gold Member, I was upgraded from standard to superior double, and was offered a gift pack with local sweets. (I later found out that the standard room is just as nice - about the same size as the superior room, bed is smaller, but there's a nice tub in the bathroom.) The ground floor cafe is closed due to the Covid pandemic, otherwise it should be a great place to enjoy breakfast or coffee. The famous shop and restaurant Miyahara Eye Clinic (宮原眼科) is literally in front of the hotel. The Green River (綠川) and especially the elevated promenade along the old railroad make for excellent walks.
