No, no, no and one more time NO.
Place looks amazing, yet the service requires much improvement.

I wanted to have some sleep, yet guests of the room opposite to mine had a party in their room and hallway. I called reception to come and calm them down, yet I was ignored.
Instead of having nice 8 hrs sleep I had 4 hrs and I missed my breakfast. Morning receptionist was very apologetic yet absolutely useless.

Wouldn’t stay again. Still, building is lovely!

The building is fantastic and worth a visit just for that. The service on site was good. However the service with the room and after stay was very poor. The Deluxe room (with balcony) was booked. The room received was downgraded multiple levels. Raised issue at the front desk, lady on reception confirmed my room query was valid and I was in the wrong room... Room 115! The room had a lot of dead spiders on the lip of the bathroom and dust. Window was locked and not a balcony.

When I contacted Hotels.com for a refund in room rate difference, hotel Merici denies the room was not incorrectly assigned. Having had the conversation with the hotel and for this reason alone, I wouldn’t stay here again. Overall a poor experience, from a place that has the possibility to be good.

We went for a couples time away. We enjoyed our stay very much. Only issue we had is that we had to pay for our service animal. This is very unthoughtful when someone has a disability. Most places don’t charge.

Nice location but otherwise our expectations were not met. We made a reservation 5 months ago and were responsible for two other reservations but got a room that had a view of a wall and a bunch of parked bikes, not the park view we were promised. Our request for a nicer room was denied by the front desk.

Other things wrong: the hotel provided only a shower gel that was supposed to function as body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Although that may be typical at some hotels, I expect more from a luxury brand like Black Label. Worse, the shower had no shelf for our own soap, shampoo and conditioner, so they had to go on the floor, somewhat risky for us elderly. The toilet stall was poorly positioned at the foot of the bed rather than in the washroom. We were in room 501, maybe other rooms are better?

The hotel has an option for a 7 Euro refund if you sign up to forego towel replacement which we did not elect. Nonetheless, our towels were not replaced and when I stepped out of the shower I discovered my towel was still quite damp from the prior day. When I subsequently asked about the refund at the desk, I learned that the \"refund\" was in the form of a bar/restaurant voucher, which at that point was useless to us since we were checking out.

Speaking of the restaurant, we had planned to eat dinner there the first night of our stay, but after discovering that the menu was quite limited, we went to the nearby square where there were many options.

Restored convent in excellent location

Beautifully restored building right in the middle of town - lovely mix of modern and old. Rooms a bit dark (dark furniture & walls) but very comfortable. Large breakfast room and cafe/restaurant with outdoor seating, but oddly no lounge area - the entrance is a little underwhelming. Reception not always staffed. Staff are friendly & helpful overall. Parking easy.

Fine for one quick night, business hotel.

To start, a supposedly 4 star hotel shouldn't charge for parking. They seemed to be renovating the entrance, so the floor was quite dusty. The reception said the check out could be done until 11:30 am. At 11:00 someone opened our door while I'm naked. At 11:10 we receive a call asking when we will leave. At 11:15 a woman knocks the door and despite our explanations she screams at me that we should get out at 11:00. We check out at 11:30. Room was fine and shower as well, but the door to the toilet is transparent, no key and you can hear the other person on the toilet. Window can't be opened, curtains not fitting completely the window, so you might catch the light on your face in the morning. Breakfast was very good and they took all measures against COVID19. Would not stay there again, but for a quick night is worth it. Not romantic at all as they advertise, is really a business hotel.

All good and wonderful people! For an old Kloster building, amazingly crisp plastering and interior design in room. Hotel Parking convenient.
Only downside, we happened to get a room where the window could not be opened, so no fresh air,
and no chairs due to size.

What a beautiful place and incredibly quiet location yet a few minutes walk to a square with lots of restaurants.

We ate out 2 evenings and the food and staff at the restaurants were fantastic.

Staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful.

Wonderful rooms with lots of character. Breakfast basic with only eggs either omelette, fried or scrambled on offer as a hot dish but lots of cold options fruit, cereals, cheese, meats and fresh breads on offer.

Great property , i got a terrible room

The hotel is a great property. However our room was on the top floor , the windows didn't open and the bathroom was practically in the bedroom with a glass door that doesn't reach the ceiling as a spectator between the loo and the bedroom..
You do the math.. free water , as listed on the site is available at checkout from the reception or at least that's the experience I had .. not super useful.. fantastic location right off the square though..

Stayed one night on business trip. Hotel was good staff helpful and friendly problem we had was finding the entrance to the hotel. To access parking is difficult if you do not read Dutch. It is under the hotel but from the back and on a different raod which is sorrounded by road works. Sat Nav takes you toa dead end. It took us half an hour to work out no hotel signs. Suggest get accurate directions before arriving

A welcoming check in. Room comfortable, spacious and well equipped. An excellent breakfast buffet and attentive service. The restaurant is shared with a sister hotel actually on the main square. It falls slightly short of the website's fine dining description but nonetheless offers a reasonable choice, though somewhat limited for vegetarians. The food was well cooked,well presented, and reasonably priced.

Nice boutique hotel in the historic centre.

I grew up in Sittard and I know the place very well. It's by far the best hotel in town. Sittard itself is a beautiful historic market town. It became a city in 1243, so there is plenty to see. Over the last 2 decades the number of cafe's and restaurants on the market square has shot up. It's great for shopping too. The interior of the hotel is very tasteful with a well appointed bar on the ground floor, a vibrant meeting point! The room was quiet and and we slept very well. I loved the artwork in the room and the slate floor in the shower. The breakfast room on the first floor is very bright and comfortable. A chef made some nice fried eggs and pancakes. On checking out we were given a complementary bottle of mineral water which came into good use on the long train journey back to London. We'd love to come back!

We stayed on a Saturday evening in August, mainly for its proximity to the Belgian Grand Prix. The area around the hotel has cobbled streets and is mostly pedestrianised but the hotel was easy to find with GPS (even with some streets closed with roadworks).

You can park you car under the hotel in a modern carpark, which is surprising given the age of the buildings above - but it worked out really well. Checkin was very efficient and the superior room we booked turned out to be a suite.

Dinner that evening was round the corner in the town square which held at least ten different restaurants ranging from Chinese and Thai to Italian and French.

Beautiful modern room which could not be faulted. Fantastic hotel which I would have no problem recommending to anyone.

This hotel was the best place we stayed on this last trip that included 5 different hotels. The location is perfect and easily accessible to restaurants and city center. The place looks newly renovated and is just amazingly pretty! The breakfast was included and was delicious! And everyone was super helpful and sweet! We would totally recommend this hotel!

Well presented - Modern decor/furnishings.

Cons:
My room was not cleaned during my 4 night stay. The same dead flys lay on the floor throughout.

The bed sheets were not replaced.

The shampoo dispenser contained no shampoo - This was not corrected during my stay and I ended up using my own soaps/shampoo.

I was led to believe the hotel shuttle service was complimentary - they made no mention of a charge until I paid the bill - I consider their charge for a two mile journey (15 Euros) as excessive.

Malgré les bons avis de cet hôtel, mon séjour a malheureusement été décevant et j’ai sans doute manqué de chance.
Lors de la première nuit, le rideau de la chambre est tombé lorsque je l’ai ouvert au matin. J’ai immédiatement signalé le problème à la réception, et il m’a été confirmé qu’il serait réglé dans la journée. Or, à mon retour le soir, rien n’avait été fait, ce qui m’a obligé à changer de chambre. La réceptionniste a semblé rencontrer des difficultés pour trouver une solution, l’hôtel étant presque complet.
À noter également que dans cette première chambre, il est impossible d’ouvrir les fenêtres soi-même. Il faut passer par la réception pour les basculer, mais il n’est ensuite plus possible de les refermer sans leur intervention, ce qui n’est pas très pratique.
La seconde chambre, bien que disponible, n’était pas idéale : mansardée, avec une petite fenêtre et un rideau non occultant, laissant passer toute la lumière extérieure. De plus, les toilettes dégageaient une forte mauvaise odeur (type urine). J’ai signalé ce problème de nettoyage au matin de la deuxième nuit, mais aucun nettoyage réellement efficace ne semble avoir été effectué.
C’est dommage, car l’hôtel semble bien noté et mon expérience ne reflète probablement pas la qualité habituelle de l’établissement. Néanmoins, les problèmes rencontrés et leur prise en charge insuffisante ont clairement impacté le confort de mon séjour.

Préférez le parking public à 5€ la nuit au lieu de 15€ (3min de marche)

Für 4 Sterne alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen, bspw. die Kaffeemaschine stark verkalkt, die Wände teilweise verschmutzt und es roch komisch.
Die Lage ist super (Restaurants, Bars, Cafés fußläufig erreichbar), Parken ist unter dem Hotel günstig möglich und das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Het hotel is geweldig. Mooie schone kamers en erg ruim en knus. Het ontbijt is fantastisch, ruim aanbod voor zowel liefhebbers van zoet als hartig. En het personeel is attent en heel vriendelijk. Wij hadden een waterkoker die vol zat met kalk, de volgende dag stond er een nieuwe voor ons klaar nadat we het bij de receptie hadden doorgegeven. Dat is de service die je hoopt te krijgen en het hotel voldeed daar helemaal aan.

een fijn verblijf midden in de stad, maar toch een oase van rust. Goed ontbijt. Keurige kamer. Bewegwijzering in het hotel kan iets beter, is niet altijd duidelijk.
Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Parkeren in garage, hotel ondergronds bereikbaar. !5 euro per dag.

Wir mussten für unsere zwei Hunde (je 4 kg, Allergiehunde die weder Haare verlieren noch Bellen oder sonstige Auffälligkeiten haben) 50 Euro / Nacht bezahlen! So etwas ist uns noch nie passiert … Die Dame an der Reception sprach weder Englisch noch Deutsch (oder wollte nicht). Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber gereinigt. Der Hoteleingang war heute morgen mit Zigarettenstummel dekoriert. Sorry, das ist keine Qualität.

Das Hotel ist schwer zu finden. Auch die Werbung für das Hotel scheint mir etwas trügerisch. Man sieht das Gebäude auf dem Foto auf Ihrer Webseite, jedoch befindet sich das Hotel in einem Nebengebäude. Wir hatten eine Suite bestellt, es war jedoch ein Duplex, gefährlich wenn man abends mal \"muss\". Dusche befand sich offen in der Küche. Aber sonst ok.Eher ein gutes 3 Sterne Hotel

Fijn verblijf gehad. We kregen een upgrade naar een junior suite, erg mooie en ruime kamer over 2 etages. Fijn dat er een koelkast, nespresso-apparaat en waterkoker is. De kamer was wel gehorig, we konden de buren horen praten. Al met al een fijne betaalbare plek als je Sittard en Maastricht wil bezoeken en in Maastricht niet de hoofdprijs wil betalen.

Super toffe locatie en op loopafstand van het levendige plein.

Helaas voor het hotel geen topscore wegens de gehorigheid van het pand. De eerste nacht hadden wij een Junior Suite. Op de slaapkamer hoor je de buren praten, tv aan staan, etc. De volgende nacht konden wij wisselen van kamer en kregen we een standaard room. Super fijn dat dit kon. Hier hoorden wij de bovenburen lopen door de kamer wegens de houten constructies. Met oordoppen wel goed geslapen. Mocht je hier gevoelig voor zijn, dan zijn oordoppen wel een must.

Over het algemeen heeft het hotel veel potentie voor 5 sterren, maar vind ik het nog niet waard mede door gebrek aan wat extra luxe zoals badkamerspullen, prullenbak in de badkamer, lichte muren die daardoor al snel zichtbaar beschadigd zijn. Je betaald bijvoorbeeld ook 15 euro per nacht voor de P garage. De P garage heeft een exclusief gedeelte voor het hotel waardoor je vanuit hier het hotel inloopt. Parkeer je niet in dit exclusieve gedeelte, dan betaal je maar 5 euro per nacht. Een fors verschil!
