Lovely welcome upon arrival, with plenty of parking near our room. Clean and spacious room, very well looked after during our stay. Breakfast had a great variety of options with ample seating areas, staff always busy clearing used plates, cutlery etc but willing to have a quick chat .

Love this place! 5*

I really love this hotel as it’s very easy accessible plus there is always ample, free parking. The staff are super friendly and helpful and genuinely seem pleased to serve you and check in is always quick and efficient. The rooms are a great size and the bathrooms are big with a separate shower and bath. We had opted to have breakfast included and the choices are amazing; sooo much to choose from but there is only one thing I’d love for them to improve on. The hot vegetarian options; maybe add hashbrowns or baked beans? Just eggs and mushrooms is a little sad as vegetarian warm choices. Apart from that our stay was excellent as per usual and this is why we keep returning.

The stay was good and I like the hotel. It is quiet and the hotel is situated in nice area. There were two things that put me off. first was the constant smell from the plumbing. The entire wing of the hotel smelled like the gas from bad plumbing. You could also hear the water from the sink gurgle down the shower drain. The second was the quality of the food. I did not find the food as good as past stays. I had always looked forward to staying at this hotel but this time it let me down

We ABSOLUTELY recommend Hotel Heerlen. We stayed 10 nights & then switched our reservations to return for another 17 nights. There hotel is beautiful, the area is beautiful, the people are accommodating and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There are walking/ biking trails to castles behind the hotel. The hotel is easily accessed from the highway. There are grocery stores, train station, and restaurants within a 15 minute walk. The restaurant is a popular destination for the local dutch as well as \"out of towners\". The hotel has a full buffet breakfast as well. There is local bike delivery from other local restaurants as well. The pool and spa are very nice.
This is a very nice option for someone staying within the south Limburg area.

The hotel is great, however i was concerned around their tokenary COVID precautions. Yes they have hand sanatizer at the door and some marks on the floor, but thats where it stops. No staff awareness, little to no social distancing, no confirmaiton around room cleanleness etc. Could be improved.

zero expectations

Service leaves alot to be desired, from check in to check out. Everything is just so slow, no haste or sign of customer service. Everyday i have to ask for more towels because theres always only one, cleaning materials are left in the room, literally no one throws the trash for like 5 days. I can go on forever. The breakfast is ok and the new sections looks nice. But thats it.

The hotel has a very modern, clean look. The restaurant was great, staff attentive and food delicious. Ate in the casual area as well as the more upscale dinner, both were great. The fitness center is amazing. For a hotel gym there was a nice variety of equipment, a beautiful swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna. Parking was free and easy to park in. Highly recommend this hotel brand!

Stylish hotel for business or pleasure. The room size and amenities cannot be compared. Clean, grand bathroom, jet bath, calm, well situated. Breakfast is pricy but worth it. Stayed with a family of 4. Issues with the sofa bed but quickly resolved by the front desk.

A great hotel, despite it being in the middle of a major refurberation programme. The restaurant is outstanding providing first class cuisine at reasonable (sensible) prices. And the service was exceptional, anxious to please and serve.
Set in beautiful grounds with an opportunity to enjoy a gentle walk around the grassed areas around the hotel.

I have stayed here before whilst the building works were being carried out and there was a pop up restaurant. I thought it was better then, the staff this time on reception were ok but I would not consider friendly. I was overcharged on departure for my room, checked with hotels.com and they arranged a refund, it was apparently a hotel mistake....

The room was not as described in the hotels.com website. The description was saying romm with three twin beds, instead we found three single beds. When shown the booking description to the reception, they directed us back to hotels.com not accepting any responsibility. There was a lot of draught through windows, as such the room could not warm up unless we close the window heavy curtains.

Fabulous hotel

The hotel was fabulous. The rooms are large, clean, bright and very modern. Little touches such as motion sensors on a floor light for using the restroom at night make this hotel exceptional. They are currently rebuilding the restaurant, but the temporary one was very nice. Hard to tell you're in a temp building at all.

they have done a great job making this place more than just work following a fire. The pop up restaurant is fantastic and the rooms and spa are in great shape. a few larger free weights in the gym wouldn't hurt but its a better gym than most hotels.

Okay hotel but with good location

The room was great but for a family room with 4 people stayed without a door in the open shower room makes everyone feels embarrassed and inconvenient.

Didn't know that the hotel had been through a fire and still under renovation. So every time when we need to get back to our room or to go to the lobby with our luggage, we need to pass through the high class restaurants while everyone is having meal. The lobby is much smaller compare with other Van Der Valk chain hotel.

The location of the hotel is good, close to Belgium and Germany boarder, but I do expect a better discount for the current hotel until the renovation is finished to attract customer

Pitty half the hotel was rebuilding, was not mentioned. The two bed was not good for sleeping as couple, split apart. Badroom and toilet did not have lock, no privacy. Welness was nice. Breakfast was very good.

Had a great time at the hotel. Enjoyed the indoor pool a lot. The rooms are beautiful, recently renovated. We had two rooms and they were both great. Liked the fact that our son had his own bed. The room was very roomy and comfortable. Traveled to 4 countries and five cities and this was by far the best hotel. Restaurant had an outstanding breakfast. We liked it so much we had all our meals there. Very relaxing place. Highly recommend

Although the Hotel was being exstensively demolished and re-built, it did not impinge on our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, which seemed very genuine, which was important to us.
We would not hesitate to re-book here again.

The hotel is going under renovations to what appears to be just a new dining area. The rooms, reception, and pool are all recently renovated and are in excellent condition. They created an adjacent restaurant which is quite nice for a temporary building. The breakfast was a nice buffet and children under 12 are half price. We also enjoyed the pool area.

While part of the hotel had burnt down recently it did not impact our stay at all. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The windows can open and let in ample sunlight. The caste just down the road walking distance from the hotel is charming.

Great hotel large but well run. Stayed here en route to Germany. Had a great splash in the pool before searching for kid friendly food in the local area. There is an Ikea in the retail park opposite that served a great cheap breakfast. We used the pool and this was nice to relax in after the long journey. Set of the next next thoroughly refreshed. Nice modern updated room. Easy access to the pool for the kids.

The hotel is good and room were quiet with plenty of parking. The gym however is usually booked in the evening hours for private fitness classes which make it difficult to use after a work day. The pool and sauna are good and were utilized in place of the gym.
