Who doesn’t like sleeping in a beautifully restored castle built in 1117?
Our room was large, with all the amenities, the bed was comfortable and the birds singing in the trees were numerous. This beautiful rural setting was a delight even during the heavy rains we experienced.

Wonderful peaceful hotel and full of character

I had a very good stay and the Hotel Kasteel. The hotel is located in a peaceful location but only a few minutes from the main town. The full of character and nice touches such as small items of furniture and art. My room was on the top floor and I had not problem negotiating the small stairs, but it may be worth the hotel checking with future less able guests before allocating an attic room. The room itself was very spacious and clean, with the added benefit of a Nespresso machine. The breakfast was very good.

Visited the hotel in the off-season, and had a lovely time. Staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for advice on places to visit and eat. Location is cozy and peaceful, with some traffic noise outside. Breakfast was good, no chef at the time of visit so dinner was had elsewhere. Only within walking distance from one restaurant, which was luckily great.

Beautiful hotel located in the woods, it has a awesome menu. Robert the manager makes you feel at home and can give you some great ideas where to do the tourist thing, he's a great addition to this property. Jackoline did a outstanding job in housekeeping. The hotel needs some updates. We will come back again in the spring.

No anti slip mat in the bath, door into room 20 was dangerously near very steep narrow stairs. Window on 1st & 2nd stairs had no bars on them. No chest of drawers in bedroom 20.

I love historic properties, but my attic room was a joke for the price. It was furnished like a cell, with a broken lamp hanging over the bed and a rickety wooden ladder to climb up to the room with. A lukewarm welcome, no response to my e mail before arrival, non-existant service, having to pay the night before despite an expedia reservation guaranteed with a card. The gardens are littered with broken garden furniture and the inside of the lift was filthy.

Castle Hotel!!!

This is a gem of a place with outstanding service. My boys absolutely loved the idea that they were staying in a hotel that used to be a castle! This is an oasis in the middle of the fields a short 20 minutes from Maastricht with beautiful views. No doubt that we will definitely stay there again if we are there!

We only had a brief overnight stay. The room was very quiet on the top floor. Unfortunately it was very dark, the lighting was very poor. A few more stronger lights would make the room better. Breakfast was OK typical of Dutch hotels. Unfortunately there was no milk for tea and coffee at the breakfast table and the cups were very tiny.
The reception staff were friendly and they organised a taxi for us.

Cozy Hotel in the Country Side

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is in a beautiful area in the countryside outside of Maastricht. The grounds are really nice, service was really great and very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because some of the rooms do not have AC and that was not stated anywhere so I ended up in a super hot room and had a hard time sleeping. However, the rooms were nice. Also, bring bug spray as there are mosquito's on the patio during certain times of year. All in all I would stay again I would just make sure I have a room with AC. There are tons of great running and biking paths all over.

Looks can be decieving.

Hotel was off the beaten track and virtually empty and although the larger and more elegant rooms were free, the hotel receptionist gave me the smallest double right beside the entrance so I can hear people coming and going through out the night.

Lovely old historic building, impressive must be popular with local area and previous visitors. we ended booking this by chance.
Late arrival call advise on final booking form on web site was very useful,

Clearer in larger letters \"Room as booking only confirmation, final payment must be made at the hotel\" would have been useful to avoid confusion.

Not just checkin but Kitchen also closes quite early. We did not see any signs or room menu for having any possibilities to order late night snacks or any food by room service. So return and checkin early is advisable. Small staff level keep very busy and are focused to please customers. However, second day rubbish in sink by mistake by busy staff. colleague received minor return remark made by staff for occupying small table of four by two people instead of very small table settings for two people. Reasone having to relay the breakfast table of four? Case of both parties were right.
Night before we slept in a lower cost, very small but similar rooms a hotel in Valkengurgh had much better layout and extensive choice of inclusive with rates breakfast with fresh fruits, cooked and as much coffee and tea you like than limited paid breakfast at this hotel.
Sorry can not comment on the dinner as each night we could only return after the 9.0-10 pm when kitchen was already closed. Rooms are clean can get cold at night, very hot water taps at slight over adjustment, take care! slippery tiles in bathrooms, elderly person must take ca

Great hotel in a rural area

This hotel was very comfortable and clean, and it provided a delicious breakfast included with the price of the room. The service was great. If you are looking for a quiet and rural setting, then this is a great choice. However, there aren't that many restaurants in the immediate surrounding area.

This hotel is in a beautiful historic building, located in a lovely part of the countryside. The rooms are tastefully done and modern but still seem to go with the historical spirit of the place. The attached restaurant has amazing food at a decent price. I would definitely stay here again.

Only negative was the 115 volt outlet did not work for me, I could not get the plug to connect, but other then that I would stay again..

Imposing building conveniently situated in open countryside about 10 minutes outside Sittard. Very pleasant exterior terrace for meals/ drinks.Minor irritations were wimpish air-con and the double bed being two singles pushed together. Breakfast fair. Staff friendly and pleasant.. Room spotless.Didn't use spa or eat there so can't comment Wouldn't rave about it. Would probably stay again if the price was right.

Very cool hotel

This was a great hotel. Our room was for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids had a loft upstairs with twin beds, a tv and desk. There was plenty of room for all of us. The breakfast was good - typical European breakfast - hard boiled eggs, breads, meats and Cheeses, yogurt and toppings for the yogurt. It was about a 15 minute drive to Valkenburg. There was not a whole lot right around the hotel in walking distance, but several villages around it with plenty of places to eat etc.

Insgesamt ist das Hotel schon ziemlich \"abgerockt\". Viele Ecke waren dreckig, oft sah es so aus, dass zwar grob geputzt wurde, aber das Detail eben nicht. Stühle und Tische hatten angestoßene Ecken etc. Entweder liegt es an zu wenig Personal oder es fehlt einfach der Blick... Es wirkte dadurch leider ein bisschen \"schäbig\".
Das Frühstück war leider auch überschaubar.

Das Personal war immer freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Mooi gebouw maar matige kamer

De locatie is ok en de uitstraling aan de buitenkant ook. Toch verblijf je in een oud gebouw en dat heeft ook zijn nadelen. Wij kregen een kamer die erg onhandig was met allemaal balken in de kamer waar je moet bukken om onderdoor te lopen. In de doucheruimte zat ook de deur naar een rommelzolder die open stond en waar allemaal troep lag. De douche zelf was prima maar krap bemeten. Het bed was veel te zacht en de tv stond weer ergens anders in de kamer. In de ochtend zat er ook nog een plat insect op de muur en lag er nog een lange haar in de douchebak....Al met al waren wij niet te spreken over de kwaliteit en uitstraling. De receptionisten waren aardig.

J’ai adoré notre sejour

J’ai adoré notre séjour dans ce magnifique hôtel. Nous y avons passé 3 nuits et apprécié le petit-dejeuner.
Le personnel était très attentionné et attentif à chacun de nos souhaits.
J’ai aimé l’atmosphère chaleureuse des bougies partout au cœur de l’hiver, ça ajoutait une note supplémentaire au lieu !
L’hôtel est très beau, les jardins également mais il est excentré et perdu dans la campagne …
Le seul point négatif est la salle de bain qui est minuscule, trop minuscule ! La chambre pourrait être également un peu plus spacieuse surtout que le lieu s’y prête !
Mais c’est un très bel hôtel et j’ai apprécié chaque instant de notre séjour !

Pluspunten waren dat we op de kamer dagelijks een nieuwe fles water kregen. Er was een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet.
Minpunten waren kant en klaar maaltijden voor het diner. Scrambled eggs uit poeder. Toiletpapier dat elke dag onnodig werd vervangen. Schimmel op muren, kozijnen en in badkamer.

De locatie ligt prachtig gelegen midden in de natuur, heerlijk rustig.
Echter het hotel is wel gedateerd maar ergens past dat wel bij de prijs van onze overnachting en een verblijf in een zeer oud kasteel. Ontbijt was voldoende. Lekkere verse broodjes. Vriendelijk personeel. Voor een kort verblijf of op doorreis prima.

We booked two rooms. One of the rooms had a bed in the attic. You have to climb wooden stairs to get to it which is not safe. The pillows are very bad. We couldn't sleep all night. The sofa is very dirty.

Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Te weinig personeel. Kamer niet schoon,onder bed laag stof ,op bedrand en versiering erboven ook veel stof! Badkamer te klein, je kon niet recht op de toilet zitten. Ontbijt simpel,vensterbanken in eetzaal niet schoon terwijl de tafels er tegenaan stonden. Wel aardige beheerder. Geen informatie te vinden over gang van zaken in hotel/geen wificode en weinig te doen in directe omgeving.

Hotel Kasteel Doenrade is een sfeer-en smaakvol ingericht hotel met vooral een fijne restaurantzaal. Het personeel is voorkomend en de kwaliteit van de aangeboden spijzen en dranken is goed. De kamer is rustig gelegen, de airco is nauwelijks te horen en het uitzicht is superbe. Mede dank zij deze zaken heeft het een aangename prijskwaliteitsverhouding, vooral als je via Expedia boekt. Een hotel om nog eens naar teug te komen.

Das Ambiente in dem Schloss war perfekt, die Suite geräumig, schöne Dekoration, das Badezimmer mit Whirlpool war spitze.Sehr schöne Lage und eine tolle Terrasse
Leider gab es keine Haltegriffe am Whirlpool, das Ein und Aussteigen deshalb schwierig.
Auch gab es keinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer
Das Frühstücksbüffet wurde schlampig präsentiert, Orange mit Schimmel, Suppentassen für das Joghurt, Auswahl hatte nur zwei Sterne Niveau , kein geschultes Personal . Sehr schade
Ansonsten war es ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt

Een warm onthaal door de jongen van de receptie die tevens ook de ober blijkt te zijn. Juniorsuite was prima. Heerlijk gedineerd en ontbijt was perfect. De directie van dit hotel mag trots zijn op het personeel!!

Bijzonder mooi gelegen locatie. En prachtig gebouw. Ook zeer vriendelijk personeel. Wij gingen er naar toe omdat het hotel ook diervriendelijk is (klein hondje mee). We werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen. Maar helaas laat de (hotelgroep) hun personeel wel een beetje verzuipen. En dat zie je vooral terug in het stof dat overal ligt. In de kamers, op plankjes, deurposten. Oud tapijt overal met vlekken. Op zich zijn de bedden schoon en badkamers redelijk. Maar het kasteel is qua aankleding verouderd en vooral de schoonmaak is een dingetje. Uiteindelijk betaal je er ook goed voor. De teleurstelling kwam bij het ontbijt: onze hond mocht niet mee de ontbijtzaal in. Maar schrijf dan niet op dat je huisdiervriendelijk bent! Of noteer ergens dat ze niet mee het restaurant en ontbijtzaal in mogen. Sommige dingen zijn makkelijk op te lossen. We hebben de hotelgroep een mail gestuurd over bovenstaande punten. Maar helaas… gemiste kans, geen reactie. Erg zonde want dan had ik deze review niet hoeven schrijven.

Wij verbleven, 2 volwassenen en 1 kind, 2 nachten in dit kasteelhotel.
De buitenkant is super mooi , verder is het binnen erg gedateerd en de kamer stoffig.
Eerste nacht in familiekamer zit er boven in de nok n gat waar torren naar binnen kwamen ...geen pretje..onze kleindocher
,11jaar kwam dus bij ons liggen.
We kregen wel voor de andere nacht een andere familiekamer....maar weer stoffig en er hangt een muffe geur.
Helaas het ontbijtbuffet zeer matig had het luxer verwacht ...je zit in een kelderruimte zonder daglicht.
Dit verblijf 2 nachten duur betaald met ontbijt € 370,00. Had het me anders voorgesteld..terwijl foto's vooraf bekeken op site een ander beeld schetsen dan de werkelijkheid. Zonde....

Fijn verblijf met wat verbeterpuntjes.

Het ontvangst was hartelijk. We kregen een gratis upgrade. De kamer was groot met een 'love-seat' voor de TV. De kamer en de natte ruimte waren schoon. De bedden waren voor ons te zacht (is voor ieder anders).
We konden geen diner beleven. Jammer! Ook was het dit keer niet mogelijk bij te boeken wegens een 'eigen feestje'. Daarom weken we uit naar de collega in Gulpen.
Er was een mogelijkheid om onze fietsen te stallen. Echter de ruimte (schuur/opslag) was erg beperkt wegens de rommel in het houten gebouwtje.

Op wat details na heel goed en bijzonder.

Hele mooie plek, super aardige ontvangst door jonge dame. Helaas wed ons ook aangegeven dat wegens personeelstekort het restaurant gesloten was. He T ontbijt is ok, simpel, goed maar niet uitstekend.
Bed is goed maar heeft 2 verschillende matrassen met een behoorlijke kier (staat niet zo op de site). De schoonmaakster is schatten wij klein van stuk want tot 160cm hoogte is alles heel goed schoon. Bovenop de deur en het plafond hebben behoefte aan een langere schoonmaak.
Qua omgeving en het pand zelf is het zo mooi dat zou 6 sterren zijn.

Deluxe-Status mit Luft nach oben in der Wartung

Tolles Hotel; tolles Ambiente; sehr freundliches Personal; ich war für eine Nacht (Mo/Di) dort; es war nur eine Mitarbeiterin vor Ort.

Ich hatte ein \"Deluxe\" Zimmer (Nr.2); hier müssten im Bad , der Lüfter instandgesetzt, massive Schimmelschäden im Duschenbereich (Decke) und im gesamten Zimmer mal die Spinnweben beseitigt werden.
