No the hair dryer was filthy ( I had to wipe it off before using) and I’m not sure it’s ever been wiped down! Dead roach in bathroom floor and roach carcass in corner of bathroom behind toilet. Live bug, NOT sure what kind was crawling out of suitcase that was on the suitcase rack in room. The ac worked but noisy. On the positive side the check in was easy and friendly and it was very quiet.

I don’t often leave a review and I hate to leave a 10 out of 10 review but this property deserves it. It is a real gem in a small town in south Louisiana. Staff were very friendly and helpful room was quite comfortable. Parking was easy which was important because I was pulling a boat trailer. The hotel has an adjacent restaurant which was closed on Sunday sadly but was open for lunch on Monday. Never had a better Poboy. Definitely on my list for a revisit when I am in the area.

Noisy continuous running toilet. It worked sometimes if you jiggled the nob or took off back lid and released flapper. Several electrical plugs had no electricity to recharge IPhones. Clock did not work. TV remote was sticky! Could hear trucks from Main Street late at night.

When I got to the property and attempted to check in, there was no one at the front desk. I waited for at least 10 minutes and called the property on the phone several times but never got an answer. I almost called the local Police because I was afraid that something was seriously wrong.
After getting to the room and turning the TV on i discovered that the e TV remote didn't work.I brought it back to the front desk and the attendant changed the batteries. So when I get back to the room, it still doesn't work. I then attempted to change the channels manually, but then I got nothing. No TV the rest of the night. Then I discovered the toilet didn't work properly. I had to perform maintenance on the water fill system. By then I was just disgusted and went to bed.
One of the problems is that it's the only hotel in town. So if you stay in Franklin this is it.

Not a clean hotel!

This hotel is not an 8 rating. This has to be one of the worst hotels that we have ever experienced. First, the room has not seen an update since it was built in the 80's, or maybe 70's. The bed was so uncomfortable. We didn't get there until around 1am so we did not leave. We had to bite the bullet and stay. The worst part was when my daughter went in the bathroom and came right back out and said there are 3 roaches in there. We normally would leave, but it was so late and we'd been driving all day. We didn't unpack. We only saw roaches in the bathroom. The microwave and fridge are in there also. The whole room just felt not clean. We canceled the rest of our stay, and moved to a hotel in the next town.

We needed to stay 3 nights. My in-laws also had the same problem but with empty beer bottles in the closet.

Hotels.com understood and helped with getting a different hotel.

Please avoid this hotel at all costs!
I wish I could leave negative stars.

I have stayed a few times at this hotel, and while the staff is helpful, and attentive, the property itself is in need of renovations. Rooms are clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is outstanding. However, in the last two years, I have visited three times.. and the pool has NEVER been open. The website should be updated. There is no excuse not to have it open in JULY!

Had to check out early due to a giant cockroach hanging over the bathroom door. There was no one at the front desk initially to report it to, then I was told they had been there all along. This is after having to leave work and get my sixteen year old daughter who was afraid to move. My room appeared nice but smelled of urine. Not at all what I would have expected from Beet Western.

Our stay was definitely disappointing the air conditioning was very loud and sounded like a thunderstorm all night and it didn't even cool the room. There was roaches, the door had cracks so there was alot of black bugs that was in the bed and the bathroom. There were other black bigger bugs that probably crawled in through the door cracks. We only had face towels our first night, but we made it with the towels that were left. The only good things was that check in and checking out was a breeze and the employees were very friendly.

Nice relaxing over night stay

We had intended to stay at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel, but they were sold out. So when this happens we always stay at the Franklin Best Western. The building is somewhat dilapidated, however upon entering the room it is nice, free of cigarette smoke smell, and clean. The bathroom is very small, but the shower had a lot of water pressure and the water definitely got plenty hot. The room came with a mini fridge, and a microwave. The ac system kept the room nice and cool despite the 94 degree temperature outside. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows.
All in all, I would say I was satisfied with the stay.

Repeat stays at this property for work. Clean, spacious, recently remodeled and some ongoing renovations still but work crew is not intrusive. Laundry onsite is clean and handy. Restaurant onsite is convenient and has great desserts. They were out of some items but who isn’t these days. Would stay again anytime and recommend to others.
