Breakfast buffet isnt worth the money, get breakfast from nearby Toby instead. Indoor Bar and restaurant have always been closed. No bathtub. The stars given are for letting us earlier than check in, which we really appreciate.
No table present, just something small and jiggly was there. tv should be in the front center of the bed not the far left.
Affordable hotel tho, liked the displays and presentations.
The 12 pm checkout is good too!

Have stayed at Ibis Barnsley many times. More recently the cleaning standards in the room have gone downhill, specifically the bathroom whereby there were a lot of long hairs on top of the shower trap and the sink overflow and plug area needed a good scrub which I was able to do with a piece of wet toilet paper and some elbow grease to get rid of the scum. Not nice. Bed is always comfortable though and shower powerful, appreciate the addition of a hairdryer that works!

\"Yes\" to both of those questions.
However, I had to ask for the room to be cleaned after 3 days.
I wasn't awakened at the prearranged time but luckily awoke early enough to catch the bus, to catch the train. Just a bit of a rush.
So, my stay was ok. But it is annoying to be made to pay more when the hotel is busier and less comfortable.

The staff are always welcoming from day one. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and found it a very enjoyable experience. There has been the odd little glitch but rectified right away. The only one problem we found that if you don't want to use your car and want to use the bus service you have to walk into barnsley interchange to go anywhere its a 20 minute walk across a very busy roundabout and road. The rooms are always very clean and tidy but still an excellent place to stay.

The hotel is conveniently located just off the motorway and has a decently sized free car park. Booking in was easy and the receptionist was very helpful. The room was clean and the heating was on, which was great as it was cold and miserable outside. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. The ensuite was a decent size and it was nice to have handwash and shower gel. Even more important, I think, is that the shower was fantastic with lots of hot water that didn't go cold every few minutes like some places we've stayed. We had a meal in the restaurant on the day we arrived. The food was perfectly OK for the type of hotel it is. You can't expect 5 star cuisine from somewhere that probably doesn't have a full kitchen. Overall a good hotel at a good price. We'll definitely be using it again the next time we visit the area.

On several occasions I had to go back down to reception for coffee & milk,as my room had been missed out.
The rooms were quite clean & quiet most of the time, but became rather noisy at night with banging & shouting from other guests.

Checked in on line as requested. Then checked in at the hotel. Was given a room on the 3rd floor. Went to the room only to find the room was not ready. Went back to reception and got another room however the extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. Went back to reception and got another room only to find the extractor fan in that bathroom was also not working either. Maybe a systemic fault somewhere . I informed reception. No maintenance people available on Sunday so we stayed in that room as there seemed to be an issue with bathroom fans.
I didn’t find the bed very comfortable.
The staff were really good and friendly helpful and courteous. Breakfast was good.

Not impressed with a member of bar staff, wanted to talk to a lad rather then, fetch what we’d asked for. Had to go back and ask her to stop talking as our food was out and husband wanted sauce.
Hubby asked her for sauce when we put order in, food took around 1:2 hour yet I had to go and ask twice !!!!
When we booked in wasn’t asked if interested in breakfast for £10, so when we went down in morning was told would have to pay £11.50 each as wasn’t paid day before, manger did resolve this but not happy not hi lighted

I didn’t like the way the male night staff spoke to us, when we were waiting at the reception door for him at 00:30 after having a cigarette out side and realised I had left our key card in the room, he stood at the left door egnoring us, to then come and stand on the other side of the glass door shouting use your card key i then told him I had left it in the room and told him the number of my room. He the proceeds to tell us if you dont take your card next time I’ll leave you waiting

It was the first time we had visited the Ibis hotel. It won't be the last. It had ample parking out the front for numerous cars. Nextdoor was a Toby carvery which was handy for different types of food. We had a walk in shower which came in handy if you were struggling to get into a bath. The hotel is really close to the railway line with a bit of traffic but not too noticeable. The only problem we had was with the entry card which took a while to register before we could get in the room even when the receptionist reprogrammed the card it was still not working correctly. Only a small niggle perhaps but frustrating if you were dying to get to the toilet.

Quick check in by friendly staff. Had read reviews saying could be noisy if room near M1 so requested a quiet room furthest away from lifts and was allocated quiet room at end of corridor. A great stay as usual

This was our third visit to the hotel. As previously, check in with quick and easy and the receptionist was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable with extra pillows available, which was good for me. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and shower gel and shampoo. Overall a good experience for the price and we'll definitely be using it again the next time we come up.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Value for money was exceptional and the staff are outstanding. We were made to feel so welcome and our every need met. We had dinner one evening which was super and a hearty breakfast every morning - all great quality. Also loved the relaxed scandi vibe of the hotel… the lobby is lovely to sit in. Would highly recommend!

I loved my stay here for the week and everything was amazing in every aspect apart from the doors... Oh my god!... Every door was equipped with self closers which is great but they were not calibrated properly. This meant that every single door slammed every time someone used one and it was incredibly frustrating when someone was using them often into late night/early morning. Apart from that then everything about the stay was wonderful in every way.
