Lovely old pub. Staff were really nice. Only thing that went wrong was we were given a key to a room that was already occupied. We had to go back and get another room. It just un nerved us a bit as to how secure was your belongings if the staff didn’t check the room was empty first, having said this I would stay again.

Beautiful property in a beautiful village. Very large beer garden, large bathroom with a bath (instead of a standard shower). They provided a fan to partially compensate for lack of A/C (during a record breaking heatwave), but wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in South Yorkshire. Easy FREE parking.

Our warm room was beautifully decorated including a bath, large smart TV, a wardrobe, tea/coffee making facilities and a very comfortable bed. The staff were really lovely and friendly and accommodating with any of our needs. We had dinner and breakfast across the road in the old pub which was delicious and also in a beautifully decorated dining room. There's even a snug with a lit fireplace for drinks which created a warm cosy atmosphere. The only negative was that the grout of the wall tiles in the bath/shower area need a good clean.

The restaurant was lovely and the staff very friendly. The food was good value for money. We went to Wentworth Woodhouse Flower Show and it is a very easy walk. There is also a large garden centre very near. There was plently of parking at the property and the bedroom was huge. Very good place to stay.

Read poor reviews but we were welcomed by the manager who showed us the room. Nice but a bit compact. Meal at night and breakfast good. Enjoyed our stay and would revisit. There is mould just above the shower on the ceiling and can easily be removed if resolved now. But it does need attention

The weather was very bad, ice and snow. Log burners in hotel helped my mood on arrival. The hotel has good parking and the staff very helpful, evening meal very good and also breakfast was excellent. Room and bathroom was well sized and all clean and comfortable. Cannot think of anything negative. Apart from the weather.
Will stay there again next time I need a hotel in the area.

Check in was a little chaotic and not welcoming. In the morning I ended up checking out with the cleaning lady as no other staff could be found. Absolutely no WiFi in the room and instruction to connect through the iCloud didn’t make sense and didn’t work. Room and deco good although a little dark, shower was very good. Would use again if in the area. TIP the car park for the accommodation is directly across the road from pub car park.

The staff were lovely. However 3 beds when there were 4 of us. Noisy road although this can’t be helped.
Needs updating decor wise. Most annoying thing, the remote for the tv didn’t work, had to turn on at the wall, stuck on channel 4 so we could only watch one Chanel. WiFi was not existent . Wasn’t too expensive so we coped. If WiFi worked and Tv worked probably would have been ok .

In need of it's scheduled refurb

Stayed in room 8. Twin beds were far more comfortable than than the double in room 5. Room was also cleaner. However we hardly slept due to an awful mechanical sound screaching from behind a \"private\" door on the landing that also eched down the pipework into our shower/toilet room. We complained the following morning to the assistant manager who assured us we would get a full refund for the night. It has yet to materialise.
Pub restaurant food has a wide choice. Would consider staying again but only after it's scheduled refurb has been completed

Fab location will be better after refub

Hotel is across the road from the pub. Old building and due to be refurbished which it badly needs. Double bed was small and uncomfortable for us. We were in room 5 with rooms 2-5 all being ground floor and right on the road. Would recommend ear plugs. Bathroom had black marks throughout the bath's silicone sealer and other areas.
There was a good choice of food in the pub. Lots of free parking.

It’s surprising that the room we stayed in (Room 1) is actually let out to people.
There is a clear damp issue, lights not working, bedside light switch smashed and unusable, Wi-Fi disconnects when traffic passes the road, then there’s the bathroom / wet room… the grout in the floor tiles has failed to the stage they can be lifted so moisture never actually leaves and some floor tiles are cracked with sharp edges.
The village itself is great with lots of local attractions, breakfast was also good.

It's an experience when you first come through the green door!
The bathroom reminded me of my Army days in Germany living in \"the block\"!!
Floor tiles with no grouting and loose.
No blinds or curtains.
The bed was very comfortable.
The WiFi was crap. No other word for it.
Food in the bar was ok, as the restaurants part was not available and tables were not cleaned.
Breakfasts was good.
The poace grew on me butcI kniw it may not suit everyone especially if you get room 1.

Easy to find straight off the motorway. Lovely pretty little village. Warm friendly welcome in the pub with easy onsite parking and a lovely dog friendly beer garden.

We stayed for 5nights whilst visiting family locally and thought it would be a nice place to stay.
The bedroom/bathroom are both spacious and warm and beds are comfortable and it had everything we needed.
We are pretty easy going but did think that the room really needed a good clean, there was confetti left on the carpet from a previous time and it was apparent that bed side tables were never moved to vacuum as you could easily see the layer of fluff all around the edge of the room carpet, lamp shades were full of dust and the shower curtain was dirty and mouldy
The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and we had noticed that extra toilet paper had been replaced but bins not emptied,beds not made or bathroom cleaned. By day 4 we left the sign to ask for the room to be cleaned and went out. I was so disappointed to discover that although the beds had been made the toilet,sink and bath still hadn't been cleaned so asked one of the cleaners for products so I could do the job myself but I was told guests aren't allowed and initially she did offer to come and look but when I commented that nothing had been cleaned in four days she rolled her eyes at me and refused to come.
I thought that next day the toilet would be cleaned. NOT
Thank god I don't expect the bedsheets or towels to be changed daily and I we can put up with dust but I do find it unacceptable that I had to use wet wipes to clean the bathroom myself.

Very disappointed room was very shabby and in desperate need of refurbishment. Black mould on the walls in bedroom and bathroom, the math panel was falling off and blind on window broken. No breakfast available before 8.00 am which is not good if you are on business and breakfast quality was poor. Evening meal in the pub was at best mediocre. Certainly will not be staying again and Greene King should be ashamed of themselves for the neglect they have shown to this establishment. I would not recommend this as a place to stay which is a great shame as it is in a very pleasant area

Good staff. Excellent breakfast. Well sized room. Comfortable beds. En-suite with a bath (yipee!) and sensible shower unit fitted. All things worked, including the good-brand Freeview TV. Sun-tan level main lighting complimented the dim bedside lights.

The disappointing things: The bathroom needed a brighter light. The cleaning staff had missed a piece of underclothing left by a previous resident. Generally, things needed tightening up (e.g.toilet unit.) and lubricating (2ndary glazing). Wind gusts caused things to creak and flap. At the time of stay, temperatures were moderate and the desktop fan was adequate. In high temperatures, the absence of an air conditioner would have been noticed as the room was roadside level, which precluding keeping a window open if only for 'vehicle emissions'.

Nevertheless, an enjoyable stay and very likely, of future interest.

stayed for business in area , rooms ok with a nice shower and car park but very strong smell in room of plug in air fresheners , only 1 bar on phone so hard to work .
pub needs attention to detail , dirty tables , empty glasses all outside and damaged menu etc. , no bottled water available. Breakfast from 0800 , too late for workers .
saying all above i would consider as a tourist as lovely village . this pub/hotel could be so much better !

A comfortable stay in the Rockingham Arms. The accommodation is across the road from the inn with its own parking but that ensures a quiet stay. The room was big with all the basics and clean. The bed was a little soft for my taste, but that may be perfect for others. The menu in the restaurant was quite extensive, nicely cooked and a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would happily stay there again.

My Fianceè and i had our 1st date in Wentworth and our first drink together in the beer garden of the Rockingham Arms so this place will always be special to us.
We booked the double room priced up at £45 for a Thursday night and on checking in were met by a very friendly gentleman who explained the parking situation and showed us to our room ( no7). The room was clean, roomy and spacious.
I have read detrimental reviews about this establishment but all i can say is if you want a comfortable bed for the night and don't want to pay over the top prices this is the perfect place to stay.

Check-in was very smooth no issues as I stop there previously I knew where I was going we stopped in room eight it was me and my colleague. We only have one plug socket between the two of us to try and charge our mobile phones as most of the plug sockets are blown and no one has done anything about it. The eating comes on and off when it feels like it which means sometimes you can be cold in the room. However the bed is very comfy. A little bit of a small TV for the size of the room. Bath panel broken. The rooms are looking a bit tired I need some money spending on them. Breakfast was not open at eight 8 am as stated and it was open late only by about five minutes but obviously causing an inconvenience to us. The man at breakfast was friendly enough. But did give you the impression he really didn’t want to be there. I actually felt scared about asking for a 2nd cup of coffee. The breakfast is okay I can’t say it was the best I’ve ever had but it wasn’t that bad to say but the second time I stayed there. I have to be honest with my reviews some improvements are definitely needed

The hotel room was in need of a good clean. When we checked in the toilet cistern was audibly dripping and dripped all night om night one. We reported it next day and a friendly lady said she'd send someone over to have a look, but it wasn't fixed, and it dripped constantly through the stay, which was really annoying at night. We understand the issue of getting it fixed over Christmas, but can't understand why noone apologised or left a note acknowledging the inconvenience of a broken washer in the toilet.

Rooms are across the road from the pub. Dated and mouldy blind in the bathroom. Shower head fell off when turned the shower on. Massive argument happened within the rooms, no emergency number or front desk, didn't feel my family were safe and had to leave in the early hours to protect them. Contacted hotel about this via feedback form since, no response at all.

Didn’t meet expectations

Room needs a lot of TLC. Bathroom is showing signs of damp all over the roof. Has potential to be nice but needs renovating. Rooms are looking very tired. We decided to leave after the first evening and book somewhere else for our second evening.
Also we had room 5 which is directly on to the main road and we were woke up by passing cars and wagons from 6am.

Room was spacious and comfortable iron + ironing board and fan provided in the room but could do with having more accessible sockets as window wouldn't open so when ironing I couldn't use the fan to cool the room . Bathroom could do with bath a new panel.

Rooms disappointing, but great location.

Rooms need a refurb. Bathroom tired and unloved. Lights not working and room a bit smelly. Apart from that, a good location in a great spot. Good breakfast and good safe parking.
