Clean room with a tea and coffee tray, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board. The beds were comfortable, although we found the mattresses a bit on the hard side, but that’s probably a matter of personal preference. The breakfast was very good, with a nice selection of both hot and continental options.
The only real issue was the soundproofing. We could hear every single step outside and every word from the room next to us.

The room was fine, but had a strange smell.
The air conditioner was too hot, and didnt seem to cool the room down.
The fridge didnt work in the room.
Staff at the front desk seemed distracted, telling me that maintenance had been, but I ended up fixing it myself in the end.
Note: if the is light on in the fridge doesn't mean the fridge is on.

Everything great except the sound proofing in the windows.

The hotel backs onto some kind of industrial site so there was noise from vehicles on that site until the early morning and then early again in the morning.

Staff were great and the standard of the room was excellent.

Just take some ear plugs if you are given a room at the back of the hotel

Couldn't use the shower. The bathroom was overpowered with bleech. Made me wheeze and cough. The bed wasn't secured and leaned on it and it moved sideways. Turned off the old style air conditioning units as mould spores can build up in these. Opened the windows so bearable

The room window did not close so asked to move to another room. The window in that room also did not close and the heating did not work so had to move back to the original room where at least the heater worked.

Greeting at reception could be better, always quite cold and salesy : once really ill and said I had to sit down, they didn’t help and reminded me I would still have to pay before I leave. The freight cabin fork lift round the back at11.30pm is worth a miss. Not had this issue before. Otherwise good

Everything was really good even helped solve a problem quickly.
I wasnt impressed with the chamber maid though as i asked for the sheets to be changed as i accidentally spilt my tea (a whole cup)on the bed on the friday night, when we got back saturday night after peter kay, it was still the same bedding they just remade the bed with dirty sheets. also they put away the dirty cup we left out saturday morning.

This hotel is average at best. Stayed twice recently, 1st time the toilet flooded under the tiles, the 2nd time there was a disgusting chemical smell when we entered the room - no wonder the windows were open.
Night porter is simply not trained in bar service - a flat pint , and a 25ml baileys poured and charged for (should be 50ml).

Room 112 Mercure Sheffield Parkway

The hotel seemed very quiet but it was in a part of Sheffield that I imagine would be occupied more during the week.

The room allocated was directly in from of the lifts and next to the laundry room where the attendants went in and out with trolleys. There was a constant bang in the afternoon after I had arrived and unpacked. This did stop in the evening. The dining was limited and there was no room service menu on the app. In the bar/dining room I was told only limited main meals available and was told I couldn't pay cash at the bar!

Once I got back to the room I opened the window. Just below the room was some kind of big heating unit or fans or something that was so loud and just kept going on and off all night. I like to have fresh air when I sleep whatever the weather.

I can't believe in a hotel that wasn't busy that the first choice of room for a guest would be one near the lifts and also near the noise outside.

I was only staying for 1 night. I had already unpacked my things so I decided it wasn't worth changing rooms and causing a fuss. But so wish I had once the noisy unit outside kept me awake all night.

It was a shame because I was just trying out the hotel for future stays when I come up to visit my son's.

Chose it for it's good location for me and also free parking is a bonus these days.

The hotel was just fine for what I needed. Clean and serviceable.
My negatives are that the shower was terrible, it was literally a dribble. The fridge in room was useful but so noisy I had to turn it off to sleep and as far the eco pledge goes, I put my towel back on the radiator folded as they say they will only replace if it’s on the floor but they still gave me a brand new towel!

Cancelled 3 night stay the day before arrival.

On the day before our arrival at the Mercure, the hotel had contacted Hotels.com to say our booking was cancelled. Even although the booking was made 8 months before in November. I got a voicemail from Hotels.com, which I didn't pick up, at 6 a.m. the day we were due to go to the Mercure Sheffield Parkway they then phoned my mobile while I was driving so unable to answer. We did get the message about the cancellation around 11.30 a.m.and phoned the hotel.A very unhelpful lady answered, saying our booking had been cancelled and to contact Hotels.com . No apology, no reason given. My friend and I don't know the area and were on our way to a day at a flower show. We spent over an hour trying to contact hotels.com with no success mainly due to being without a signal where we were. It was sorted early evening after a heated discussion between myself and the hotels.com representative. The replacement hotel was good . Location, staff and comfort all very good. But the day had been very stressful .

I booked the hotel on a business trip and chose what I thought was a well recognised, reliable chain.

A key requirement for a hotel on a business trip is reliable internet, and the Mercure does not have this. After several complaints about the internet not working they gave me the conference login, this did not work, they then gave me the staff login and this did not work. It took me 4 hrs to complete 40 mins work of my intermittent phone internet. Many others also complained on the day. The hotel needs to up its game as it is not at the cheap end of the market and annoying things like the key card not working property exacerbated my poor experience. Would not visit this hotel again.

Perfect overnight stay. Warm welcome and checked in quickly giving details of taxi and uber services to Sheffield Arena where we were going. Lovely clean room and everything what you needed. Lovely breakfast in the morning with a good choice of hot and cold food.

Only real problem was that the property claims to have A/C but it does not actually work no matter how low you turn the thermostat.
We were there for a very important sporting event but could not get a decent night's sleep because of the heat and was then dehydrated in the morning, so not a suitable property unless you like to overheat in the night.

Very reasonably priced, complete with breakfast and parking, upgraded to prestige room, excellent large space room, bath and shower, huge bed, shower not super power but still good, we slept great for a stopover night. Hotel a bit isolated, that said the outlet store the other side of dual carriageway is worth a wander. Plenty of parking when we visited on a Saturday night, Sunday breakfast good variety. Easy to find, on site carpark, friendly receptionist.
Good sized room and Grandaughter loved the made up double sofa bed.
Selection of drinks but only decaf in coffee pods.
Only one biscuit for 3 of us was a little disappointing.
Plenty of room in bed for 2.
Good size bathroom and separate shower, nice smelling products available.
Good choice for breakfast following peaceful nights sleep in quiet surroundings.

Had a really good stay at Mercure Sheffield Parkway. Had to mark down slightly on a couple of things. 1, had a problem with the tv, which was sorted, but then happened again. 2, bed was comfortable but found the pillows a bit too firm. Otherwise the room was very good, with plenty of space, and a good bathroom especially the shower which was spacious and hot. Really handy to have the small fridge too. And dogs allowed , yippee.

Warm welcome from reception. Good to complete most of check-in online before getting to the hotel. Room was spacious thanks to upgrade to privilege room. Very spacious bathroom. Liked having a fridge in the room. Large comfortable bed. Breakfast was mostly good. Hot food could have been hotter. Like having a proper toaster and butter from a butter dish.
Hotel is on an industrial estate so no other restaurants in walking distance. Food in restaurant was ok but nothing special.
