The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was nice but was looking a little old and worn. It was nice to have access to the spa facilities, it would be nice if these had an upgrade, the area was looking old, worn and dirty and could do with more seating areas/areas to put belongings when using the pool/thermal areas. On the Monday morning there was a lot of drilling and banging from quite early on which was a shame as it did wake us up earlier than planned.

The hotel photo advert is misleading, this is a very worn down hotel and the room upholstery and carpets are old and dirty. The beds aren’t comfy too, and their isn’t much natural or mains light in the room so feels very gloomy. Certainly not worth the money. The gym was also very dated and the pool although warm the changing rooms were unclean and the sewage drains smelt which made it not an enjoyable swim

However, the sheets were pilled (making them feel old and overused), the furniture all had quite a lot of dings and chips (again making the room feel tired). Overall it was okay, but it did just feel very dated and quite used and abused. Especially when booking a suite.

The room was excellent and the hotel was really lovely but the breakfast was not great - not much variety of fruit and not very tasty , there were only croissants no other pastries and the croissants were so overcooked they were in edible! The coffee in the machine was awful!! I love fresh coffee and it was not nice at all! I’ve stayed in many hotels and had much better breakfasts for that price!
We chose this hotel because of the location and for the spa facilities and we felt the pool area needed some attention- wasn’t very clean and there was a funny smell in there , there were used towels all over the
place and generally it was all a bit of a mess and grubby down there! Definitely didn’t want to take my flip flops off!
I really think a few simple improvements could really help to make the pool area a nicer place and I this information can be relayed to your staff .

Room was clean , but there was only one mirror in the bathroom which made it difficult to dry or straighten your hair without a mirror near a plug socket. The bed was supposed to be a king size bed but in actual fact it was two beds pushed together which made the middle of the bed very uncomfortable because there was a big ridge right down the middle of the bed .I also thought the room was cold, especially throughout the night.For the money paid for the room £166 I’ve had much better. I did mention this to reception staff she couldn’t make things any better she could just say sorry.

The staff were great. Everyone we encountered were helpful, polite. There was a convention going on so it was busy but staff were really organised and good with everybody. We were on the 5th floor, great room. Breakfast could have been slightly better in terms of the continental…..plus no small cups for espressos.
The room as mentioned was spacious but. There was a lack of light above the dressing table, that was my only criticism. Loved the spa facilities and the general area. Would love to stay again

However the hallways and room left a lot to be desired... paying for a junior suite and expecting a premium finish to have several parts of the rooms looking tatty is not what we wanted. Damage to walls, plastic caps hanging off with cables behind. Parts of carpet cut out and replaced. Tap that was hot and cold reversed. Door stop missing from the door. Toilet flush with no power to flush toilet paper away.

The initial room which I got had fire hazard with the air conditioning equipment exposed out and upon complaint was moved to an upgraded room.

The location of the hotel is superb! Spa area is quite dirty. Floors dirty, rubbish left around, empty drinking cups littering the water area. Sadly the steam room had a musty smell and didnt feel safe to use. They did provide a towel which was a positive. Nice little swimming pool too. Joe on reception was ok. Didnt offer a very personal service on check-in. Took a phone call whilst checking us in, 'Eva' I think? You know what they say about first impressions?

Mouse ran under my table at breakfast. Seated at other side of restaurant. No apology or empathy. Environmental guy came in and removed a black box mouse trap from a nearby covered table and checked it then put it near first table we sat at. I have a photo of that happening . This is a lovely hotel in an amazing cbtesk location in the city. We were going to an event at the City Hall which is just 5 min walk away. It’s got plenty of restaurant choices in easy walking distance and is situated in a lovely part of the city on the edge of the lovely Peace Garden. The staff were friendly and the hotel lobby and bar are really nice as was our bedroom. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking but has a deal with a large car park 5min walk away at a discounted rate.

The hotel was comfortable and centrally located. The staff were friendly and helpful and proximity to the Winter Gardens was a big plus.

However, this hotel has a number of problems relating to access. When we arrived by taxi from the station there was no obvious way into the hotel and no signage to help, a real problem for someone with mobility problems. Also, given that the ground floor overlooks the Winter Gardens it is both frustrating and totally absurd that access to the Gardens is blocked from the hotel. Surely a system involving key cards or a code could be devised that would afford both access and security. It is something that takes away from the attraction of staying at the hotel - a definite negative.

Friendly hotel! Great that the room has a fridge, the TV was updated since our last stay which is good as previously it was out dated, would be handy if the tv was connected to the internet. The fan in the bathroom was loud and never went off. The room itself looked like it needed updating, the carpet was worn and dirty, bathroom had mould and broken facilities (such as volume for tv switch). The air-conditioning also had a mind of it's own. Overall the stay was good and facilities are good, but could do with updating.

we found the parking advised by the hotel easily, and it was only a 5 minute walk to the hotel, the hotel is situated in a position central to most bars , shops and restaurants, the check in was quick and easy and we were in our room within minutes of arrival. Room was clean snd spacious, however a negative comment would be that there was no bottled water, this you had to purchase from reception, We went to the concert which we enjoyed but returned hungry around 10.30 pm, unfortunately another negative,is that there was no snacks avsilable so we had to make do with Crisps, the bar was not much better, some of the staff have no idea how to run a bar , and the que quickly formed to the annoyance of hotel guests, at this point we decded to call it a night and went to bed,
