The staff here are amazing and more than make up for the basic amenities. As a wheelchair user, rooms are on the small side. On the negative side, because this is an economy hotel, you literally get all kinds staying (including an idiot who pulled a fire alarm at 3am and another who was smoking pot in their room), but the staff were quick to address issues.

The hotel is in city centre, right in the tram line, with easy walking distance to the bus and train stations, Sheffield Hallam and The Moor shopping. Meadowhall and The University of Sheffield are just a few minutes away by tram.

Really disappointing stay. Hadn’t expected too much for price but it was really was budget. Parking was difficult, it would have helped if website had explained there is no parking and that there a tramline outside as well as a one way system. In the pouring rain at night it wasn’t fun trying to find somewhere to park. £20 for carpark 5 mins walk away. Room cold and tiny. No hairdryer, cups or anything. Bed was hard and pillow like cardboard. It was clean and male receptionist was friendly. Would not recommend.

I live in Birmingham. I travelled to Sheffield for a very important appointment and I had a very bad experience. I booked a hotel room online and made a mistake regarding the check-in time. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked if it was possible to change the check-in time, but they refused. I then asked them to adjust the time or refund me so that I could rebook another room, because it was 3 a.m., I was exhausted, and I just wanted to rest. They refused again and told me that I had to book another room or leave the hotel.
I had no choice. It was 3 a.m., I didn’t know anyone in the city, so I was forced to book another room and pay a second time. At 10 a.m., they came knocking on my door and asked me to leave the room. I was very surprised and had nowhere to go. I ended up outside, in the cold, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., which was the time of my return train.
It was a very bad experience.

We wanted a cheap hotel that was accessible for the city centre, close to amenities, given we can’t travel too far as my wife is in a wheelchair. The room was clean and the staff friendly, however having a room with no windows is depressing and you totally lose touch with the world. The main issue for us however was the degrading situation that my wife was placed in just in terms of getting into the hotel.
There is a wheelchair lift next to the entrance as the lobby has a number of steps to climb. As the wheelchair lift is behind the fixed window we couldn’t access onto the ramp itself. So our option was either for my wife to haul herself up the stairs in an undignified manner or for us to use the delivery entrance around the back of the building in a really dark, dingy and threatening at night location. The staff were happy to open the rear shutter door access but it was humiliating to have to be treated differently. That really shouldn’t happen these days.

The room was tiny. No chair, table, suitcase stand. The ultimate insult was they don't even provide a single cup for a drink of water. Talk about cheap! You can't even sit on the toilet without having to move the trash can.
Now I am not a lover of luxury and would accept spartan conditions, but the price of the room was the same as what I paid at a London airport hotel that was luxurious in comparison.

Basic room with very little space and no table or shelf to put anything. Room was so hot - after 6pm temp seemed to revert to23 degrees. Sign said you can adjust every hour so if you want a cool room with the air con but you have to wake every hour to put it back on again . Staff lovely though and everything brand new . I’d pay extra and stay somewhere else next time.

I had booked an accessible room with this hotel. On arrival on mobility scooter was met with several steps. Fortunately there was a rising lift to the side. There was a sign saying contact staff for assistance. This involved having to climb the stairs to get someone to assist with getting scooter on to reception area. It transpired that the lift was out of action because it kept catching the stairs so had to be welcomed to the hotel via a dirty tradesman’s entrance round the back. Check in was professional and friendly. The room was adequate but positioning of the bed meant that a third of the room was inaccessible to me. However the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked with grab rails etc and shower was powerful. There was no mirror in the bathroom so shaving was a bit of a lottery.
All in all an unpleasant experience that I won’t be repeating again

Noisy guests within the hotel

Stayed here for a family trip to the city and to visit the Uni. Bought at a budget price. Issue we had with our 2 rooms was the noise all times of the night. Not from the roads but from other guests. Worst example was someone along the corridor playing loud music on their phone at 5.15am Sunday morning. I guess they were coming back and were oblivious to the rest of the world. This was 1 of a few occurences of people coming back late without their noise filter switched on.
Next time I'll spend more, but it's not as if I spent nothing. Standard room was small but ample for 1 night away. Double bed was just a standard so be aware if booking you need to check the bed size.

Clean and comfortable

It was comfortable. Clean beddings. Served the purpose. We were at a room without windows but it didn’t matter that much as we were out most times. I just wish English breakfast was available that’s all. We had a good deal though with Travelodge as kids below 16 have free breakfast 😊

Location great for walking city

Located in the city centre so walking distance to a lot and a tram stop just by the hotel too. Comfortable small room, decent shower, clean. Felt safe, as I on my own. Only negative I found it cold at night.

This is as good as an I ibis no space no table mirror where where you can’t see this is just somewhere to sleep, toilet and shower a bit claustrophobic to be honest and could have probably got somewhere better for not much more the price should have been nearing half of what it was I feel and there are homeless in the building and loitering around the front which is also off putting

A good central place to stop. Just need usual awareness in city centres. Good facilities but compact space. No tea/coffee facilities in the room but cafes and cheap food places nearby. Good clean hotel. First stay but very enjoyable close to tram station also short walk to the train station.
