The hotel is misleading on their beach side, rooms or room had no beach. The beach is artificial. They don’t disclose that at all the manager Jacob is very nice. I like him. The staff at the Kilimanjaro restaurant was very rude to my girlfriend, but you cannot lie about your beachside room saying it’s Beachside open your doors up to the beach our room at Valhalla 17 had no beach that was a lie you cannot do that that is wrong misleading unacceptable

Mistake booking this hotel. Amenities ok but food not great and waited 30mins in a queue for breakfast despite being advised to arrive at 09:30 to avoid queues. Then food was stopped 20mins after sitting down. It is a holiday park in a hotel for families like butlins in the uk! Awful if you don’t have kids.

The breakfast buffet was not as we expected. Less variety and there were times when the dishes were not replenished. The resort premises are nice. You can choose which pool you want to jump in. I have to say the Spa was a good experience. Wish there was light in the pools for night swimming. Thanks Expedia for the perks!

Incredibly attentive, kind staff with a very strict no tip policy. Our room was large, with a lovely balcony overlooking the lagoon. The food was good, but the best food is in the Rio restaurant overlooking the ocean. Our second night there, they had a themed meal and show by the staff which was really fun. We had a good chance to taste real Philippine cuisine, although the best chance is getting off the resort. The man-made lagoon is fun, as is the main pool, but the best part is the Spa which we indulged in four times during our eight day stay. Would go again!

Overall its a large resort and there is a lot to do. Staff was very friedly and helpful in many ways.
Dislikes: Food was ok but as good as I was expecting. Maybe typical for this kind of resort in Philippines.
Breakfast often had some line (didnt't take long and was over new year's, but wish it wasnt that way). 1/2 day excursion by boat was a bit mis-leading because you dont actually go on shore, you just jump off the boat and swim in the water. It was still fun, but I had a different expectation.Takes time to get transport and drive to Mactan restaurants if you want to get out.

The building and pool are great. If you have any dietary requires the food is terrible. The hotel intentionally makes it difficult to get taxis into town as they have their own hire car business. So you have a choice of paying exorbitant hire car prices or eating terrible food. If you look at all the other bad reviews they same the same thing. They need to get an international chef

The food was generally good but it took over an hour to get our first meal, and every meal after that took more than 15 minutes. Free breakfast was nice. The service was not as friendly as in El Nido, but it was still polite and fine.

Staff at Plantation Resort were excellent. We were very well looked after during our recent 3 night stay. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a beach front room. After check in, we headed out for lunch to one of the many restaurants. When we returned to the room, we had a basket of drinks to fill our fridge and baked goods from the onsite bakery. Room was clean and facilities were excellent. My only criticism is the time for the arrival of food and the small portion sizes for the price. At all the restaurants, it seemed to take a long time (40-60min each time) from ordering. By that point, we were starving and were served very small portions of each dish. We started ordering a side of rice or something extra once we realised this. The resort is very self contained with not much close by for tourists so you will likely no need to leave until check out.

We stayed 3 nights in Plantation Bay, and I have to give a shout out to Ms. Glaze at the front desk! She explains everything clearly and with kindness. She was patient enough to answer all the questions and very polite. Give her a raise or acknowledge her professionalism and most of all, her way of letting us all feel very welcome. She's part of the reasons why I extended for another night and even booked additional room. Please award her or promote her!
However, we did not like the attitude and demeanor of the guy that was assigned in paddle boarding. He was very arrogant and mean. He needs to undergo training and make sure that he makes the clients feel welcome. He was very rude and made our paddle boarding experience not so nice. He was just rude and mean. Teach the guy to be at least,friendly.
Even my nephew refused to do paddle board one more time because he said, the guy is mean. We had it November 26th, figure the guy assigned that time & have him undergo serious training on how to deal with clients with respect.

We booked Plantation Bay Resort to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and it was truly an excellent choice!
We enjoyed the complimentary one-hour bicycle ride — it was perfect for a refreshing ride after breakfast.
Although it was a bit disappointing that kayaking is now charged, the staff were incredibly kind and made our anniversary truly special and memorable.
Even with so many pools around, the air never felt humid — the whole resort was clean, fresh, and comfortable.
There was also a power outage across Mactan Island, but Plantation Bay remained safe and secure, which made us feel even more grateful.
No words can fully express how touched we were, but one thing is certain — we’ll definitely be back! 🌴💛

Me and my friends really enjoyed our stay here. Many Pros to be said about the staff and the resort. The resort was comfortable and clean. All the staff was respectful, helpful, and inviting as well as professional. Keith, Margarie, and Jose were absolutely amazing. They offered awesome service and made our stay extra memorable. the only down side for us (which is personal preference to be fair) was that the beds in our room weren't not comfortable and we lacked getting good sleep but overall I still give 5 stars and will be back again soon.

All the staff in the accommodation were very, very friendly and sweet. In particular, the attitude of the receptacle at check-in is important enough to determine the first impression of the hotel, and the first impression of this hotel was good. Also, the concierge (bellboy) and the staff at the restaurant were friendly (visiting and experiencing all the restaurants in the hotel). The Mogambo Spa was also good because it was a new atmosphere different from other places in Plantation Bay. All the staff I encountered walking around the resort welcomed me with a smile, and these experiences left a very good memory of the resort. And on the first day, I couldn't enjoy the swimming pool, which was the reason I came to this resort because it rained so much, but I think it's a great merit to be able to enjoy the swimming pool even after checking out. This is because the weather in Southeast Asia cannot be predicted.
\"However\", there are two things that are regrettable. Such good experiences during stay from check-in are offset at check-out. The female staff at the check-out table wasn't very friendly and didn't even say goodbye or thank you for staying. The moment I checked out, I felt like my fantasy about this resort was broken. Furthermore, the attitude of the female staff at bazarr, who was heard after checking out to buy resort souvenirs, deleted the good memories of their stay. I didn't welcome guests when they came in, I hummed alone when I paid, and I wasn't very friendly.

세부는 처음 와봤고 숙소에서 쉬는걸 중점으로 하기위해 찾다가 플랜테이션베이가 가장 적합해서 고르게되었습니자. 노팁 정책인점이 가장 편리했고 그렇다고 직원들 서비스 퀄리티가 떨어지거나 하지 않았습니다. 항상 어딜가나 미소를 띄며 인사 해주시고 시설또한 훌륭했으며 괜히 5성급이 아니구나 싶었습니다. 이곳이 비록 약 20년이 되었던 숙소였지만 그 어떠한 호텔 또는 리조트에 꿀리거나 낙후된 모습이 보이거나 하지 않았고, 정말 관리를 많이 하는 곳이라는게 눈에 띄게 보였습니다.
수영장도 모두 넓고 쾌적하고 붐비지않게 이용할 수 있는 점이 정멀 큰 장점이 되네요.
세부에 다시 방문한다면 또 가고 싶은 곳 입니다.

This is never a 5 star hotel.

Our experience was not good. Despite booking a King size bed we found we were given two double beds. No King size beds available. The restaurants were snack bars and cafes. No bars, evening drinks in the main cafe only. Most of the food items we tried to order ‘were out of stock, Sir’. We tried all the restaurants Kilamanjaro, Fiji Japanese and Route 66 diner. All the food was very average but had 5 star prices. Food just about OK. Breakfast for me was eggs and omelette on toast every morning because the Mexican breakfast, Chinese breakfast then next day Italian breakfast were honestly terrible. Would have been nice for a proper international buffet? All the staff were polite and friendly but they had no authority to make simple decisions….just sorry Sir. We tried to get our late check out that we requested on check in, sadly they told us sorry the hotel is busy we can’t do that? When I spoke with the duty manager he just told me he was very sorry but we could extend for a few extra hours with a Php 3000pesos plus fee? No thanks ..everything seemed too much trouble. I can’t understand why this hotel has a five star rating? When I asked the check out staff they told me it was the owner that gave it that rating. If this was given truthfully an average 3 star rating it would be correct. It wouldn’t ever achieve a 5 star hotel from a International auditor. Don’t waste your holiday or money booking here…try one of the main named 5 star hotels. Check out the other poor reviews?

It was an amazing experience at Plantation Bay and any feedback I have does not reflect a negative view but for awareness.

The no tipping policy is great and even without it the service is top notch. Very impressive.

The food options feel somewhat limited and I wouldn’t say I would stay for the food. The best aspect of the food was the morning buffet and there are so many options and a theme each day changes. I would have preferred to have some more casual options with lower price points but you do get quality food at a higher cost.

There is not a microwave in the rooms so any left overs had to be heated up in the children’s play area.

Overall the staff and property are wonderful. The pools could be cleaned a bit more but we enjoyed the lagoon and paddle boarding. Food options were not great, portions were small and often the descriptions did not match the meals. I highly recommend use of the spa facilities as the treatments are relaxing and the staff is great. A bit more ease in transportation would be great, more shuttle time options. Having stayed at all inclusive and or resort properties on 6 continents, I can say this was one of, if not the best. It is not all inclusive, and can be considered expensive for South East Asia, but it was well worth the price. It was less money per night than the Hilton Saigon Executive Lounge Floor, and offered more amenities. The staff are exceptional, and are the main reason I rTe this gorgeous proprty so high. Great rest and relation befor the long journey back to Boston. The spa was epic. Infrared sauna, steam, salt and fresh water hot and cool spa pools and amazing massage offerings. Leaving for my flight relaxed and pain free. Highly recommend Plantation Bay Resort & Spa.

Only downside is that it is located away from Cebu City itself with it's airport and ferry terminals. That location adds 1 to 2 hours travel time (and costs) to those locations as well as other \"day-trip\" excursions off-property.

This Resort sent a threatening email to me after i made the booking. Instead of thanking me for my pricey booking. Instead of appreciating my business they emailed me :
\".....please cancel your booking and try another hotel...we will enforce our rules...\"
Ive never seen such arrogant, & communist-style greeting.

They allow korean tourists to be noisy in dinning areas and outside in recreation areas meanwhile telling me to get off my phone.
Their pricey meat patty came with no buns.
They always serve food abscent of water like other resorts.
Due to all these flaws this resort is far from a 5 star resort.

The layout of this property around their saltwater lagoons was excellent. The ability to slip into the lagoon and enjoy a swim from your own private deck was awesome. The evening view over the lagoons was delightful too.

Every activity was easy to access (archery, shooting, billiards, bikes).

Spa and massage services were excellent.

Food selections at the various restaurants and room service was delicious.

Every staff member was exceptionally polite and gracious to us.

Will definitely return for future stays in Cebu.

This property is very well laid out around the central saltwater lagoons. Our room had a deck with stairs right into the lagoon for swimming and relaxing after hours.

The \"Shower Tower\" was phenomenal. Probably the best you will ever experience in a resort or hotel.

Restaurant and activity options were abundant and enjoyable.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat on future trips. And will be returning for a 2nd stay later in the week.

Plantation Bay had always been a favorite getaway of mine. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The facilities are beautiful and peaceful. I love the fact that they always encourage family time and put down cell phones when possible. They also discourage noise so all guests can relax. I stay at this facility every year. Though pricy compared to other hotels, it is worth every penny. Always leaving this hotel wanting to come back. I didn’t want to leave. The lagoons and pools are large and beautiful. Open your door and step right into the water. This place is heaven to me. ♥️

Don’t want to talk in Tagalog- as in too hypocritical of the language. A Filipino who prefers to talk in English rather than their own language. Shame on the receptionist guy!

Check in was smooth and staff seemed very friendly.
However we had some issues:
1. One of us wasn’t feeling too well and only wanted soup for breakfast that one of us will bring to her in her room since soup was not in the room service menu. The staff at the restaurant told us that for them to make that provision, their nurse had to assess our companion first. Just to order soup. They eventually relented and prepared when we told the restaurant supervisor/manager that 4 of our groups were doctors and didn’t that was necessary. Otherwise our friend would have been charged for the soup and the medical assessment.
2. During our first day I was told the the complimentary drinks in the fridge were refillable, then took that back when asked for refills on our 2nd day.
3. I understand that they want a ‘quiet area’ for the entire resort, but to actually confiscate my cellphone when I tried to bring it inside the gym when I forgot to bring my EarPods think was too much
4. They charge 50Php for a small bag of ice cubes when it’s free in almost all hotels I’ve been to.
5. Because we were a large party, we were told that we need to personally go to the restaurant to reserve, pre-order, and pay. It’s not enough that you call to reserve or order by phone. You have to go to the facility. I’m not sure why they can’t charge the meal to the room.
