The Grand Ambassador Santorini Hotel had the best views on the island! The staff even upgraded our room at no cost due to some maintenance issues with our original room. My Wife and I received world class customer service from the staff! We will definitely be visiting Santorini, Greece again in the future! This was our very first time visiting this hotel and choosing this resort made our trip complete. The views of the caldera and the Aegean Sea were breathtaking, looking even better in person than in the pictures.

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome,

The dining was also great. The breakfast has endless choices to choose from.

If you are looking for a perfect quiet stay in Santorini, we highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic and magical resort in a \"quieter and relaxed\" location on Santorini. We loved our \"cave suite\" with breathtaking views and our own private pool. Felt five star and the staff/restaurant on site were amazing. Highly recommend, also we did a few day trips to the surrounding towns Oia, Fira and Imerovigli, easy to get to by taxi and fun to visit but we were so happy to return to our sanctuary at the Grand Ambassador!

The hotel is a beautiful property. The staff is extremely helpful. The restaurant is a little slow on receiving food and drinks especially if you’re in a hurry. The pool was very cold so we were not able to use it at all during the stay. There were a few issues with the water in our room while we were there. The front desk staff helped make the room
Beautiful with flowers and candles for one special night. The staff made up for the few issues the hotel lacked. Overall it was a magical stay and I would love to come back

Everything about this resort is top tier!!! From the minute we arrived, staff was so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and more. The property is extremely well maintained and beautiful. We did the half board dining option and it is worth every penny. The meals are cooked fresh, it is not a buffet type of situation. Absolutely delicious! Incredible views of the caldera and sunset. If you are considering booking, I highly encourage you to do so! The ONLY disappointment was that the spa is not currently open, as they are remodeling. If you are unable to get up and down stairs, be mindful that there is no elevator. We are avid gym goers and considerably fit, but it was still a bit challenging for us. I feel sure that if you asked they would send a friendly staff member with a golf cart to bring you to and from your suite. Thank you to the incredible staff for a perfect honeymoon!

Simply amazing views and beautiful property. We booked a 2 bedroom villa, it was nice but the layout didn't work for us so the manager moved us to another villa with no stairs and it was perfect. The staff was very nice and helpful. The best part was the location, it is located in the south part of the island away from the busy tourist hubs of Fira and Oia but still close to many wonderful restaurants and attractions. The included breakfast was also great with good options.

This property is beyond Iconic. Such close proximity to all tourist attractions, yet providing; privacy, luxury, exclusivity, the best sunsets and a complete 5 diamond resort attraction. A ‘must stay’ for tourist that look for privacy, exclusivity, top dining experience, close proximity to all attractions, safety, security.

This resort and staff and the experience a 12 out of 10. A true 5 diamond resort/stay.

I would have given this hotel 5 stars if not for the food quality and the behavior of the manager, Antonis. The hotel itself is stunning, with superb views. We stayed in a three-room suite with a private pool, and the view from our room was truly spectacular.

I want to give special thanks to Eleftheria for her excellent service and to Pepi for her helpful recommendations and for arranging our reservations. However, I must express concern about the manager, Antonis. His lack of professionalism, communication, and managerial skills are a detriment to the hotel’s reputation. It’s unclear how someone with such poor interpersonal abilities was hired for this position.

Additionally, the food at the hotel was truly awful—shockingly bad. I strongly recommend that guests plan to eat elsewhere or make alternate arrangements, as the dining experience was far below expectations.

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Ambassador hotel for 6 days, we came for our honeymoon.
We had an amazing time, the service and staff is absolutely incredible. The property is secluded and away from Thira and Oia, which are the tourists areas. If you want to save money on transportation rent a car or an ATV. Just know there is not a lot in this area for beaches, or food options, there is a nice Cafe in Akrothiri.

Their breakfast is delicious, the staff is very kind and willing to please, Pepi is the main concierge and will literally help you in every way, she is amazing. This was a great place for us to experience Santorini.

This place was absolutely magical. I took my wife here for our 25th anniversary and we were not disappointed. The staff was so attentive to anything and everything. The really gave you a \"personalized\" experience, meaning everyone we interacted with seem to know who we were and our preferences.

The restaurant and drinks were great and convenient. The breakfast was solid and all you wanted to order.

The room was in tip top shape down to the last detail. Clean, comfortable and cool. The infinity pool was legendary and so nice to relax in. This property is farther away from town, but that seclusion makes for a very restful time. Still convenient to a little market and town. Getting transportation was never an issue either, whether through uber or having the hotel arrange.

Nothing bad to say about this other than it is a hike to your room in a steep catacomb style tunnel, so if you are older, ask for a room not so low on the hill.

10 out of 10 time/experience. Would definitely do this property again and again!

Ambassador Hotel turned sour

No mention of walking down numerous stairs/ ramp in their website, I hit my head 3 times walking up the stairs in the tunnel, no warning signs to “watch your head” posted. TV had a mind of its own, was switched out twice and after the owner came down to see, it still didn’t work, turned on and off on its own.

Bathrooms were outdated and dingy and the food selection for all menus were mediocre. Need more options. The day we left it rained and water started to come into room and the door by our pool kept on opening. This should be secured as anyone could’ve walked in and looked into our room if we had the windows opened.

Great staff, great/ breathtaking views.

I paid way too much for this experience.

Super happy with the property, I think it is a very cozy area to relax, spectacular views. I suggest adding several things for enjoyment such as a hammock, perhaps some chairs and tables in the main room, a heater for the pool to make it more interesting in cold weather seasons, I was with my family and we couldn't use it. The other suggestion is the logistics with breakfast, having some specific areas inside or outside for the enjoyment of it. I had only one mishap with breakfast at the restaurant requested from 8:00@8:30 and it was 8:45 and they still hadn't served it, they should improve that. In the same way other lunch and dinner options for a family of 5. But when I return, I will stay again at Ambassador Luxury

Service in the restaurant was just ok. A few touches would be nice - like anywhere to hang wet clothes with clips, so everything doesn't blow away. The best vacation place to be in Santorini.

This was one of the best vacation I have ever had. Prior to coming here I have read reviews and I booked because of these reviews. I’m so glad I came here. Everyone in Ambassador hotel had a smile on their face. Sometimes you will meet one person not in a good mood. But for the 5 days we were there, everyone was smiling and friendly. They were very helpful and caring. For breakfast if you don’t feel your card you can just do it at the restaurant and they will get what ever you like that they have. We were going to have bed and breakfast but the view is great at the restaurant. I love the private pool we had and the balcony with the view. It truly was the best vacation we have ever had. This is about 15-20 minutes from Fira and 35 min from Oia. It was so crowded in these two towns that I would not have been happy staying there. It is very peaceful at Ambassador and you’re not close to another person staying there which gives you some privacy. You might see someone passing by taking pictures. But they’re taking pictures of the immaculate view at this resort. You can view sunset from there and in my opinion it was better than going to the crowd in Oia. The view when your in the bedroom or bathroom or your balcony is so relaxing and so beautiful. It was priceless staying here at Ambassador suites.

We booked on hotels.com and were a little apprehensive as we’ve had mixed experiences in the past. Our concerns disappeared on arrival.
The hotel is just a 20 min drive from the airport. I definitely recommend hiring a car in advance though as it’s convenient and very handy for getting around the island.
The staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic and looked after our every need (particularly the two waitresses in the restaurant). We were upgraded to a private Villa which was a lovely touch.
The concierge services was fantastic. When enquiring about trips/activities she wasn’t pushy at all (this is a real plus in my book).
We booked a trip on a Catamaran (definitely worth the money) and also a private tour of the ancient ruins... this is a must if you want to understand what you are really looking at.
The rest of the week we took in trips in the car to Pyrgos, Imerovigli, Fira and of course Oi. To be honest, it was always lovely to come back to the peace and tranquillity of the hotel.
I have seen some people complain about drinking water and the pool temperatures... drinking water in bottles is completely normal for most island restores. As for the pool, once you get in and under it’s actually refreshing and no where near as bad as others made out. I guess it would be nice to have them heated so you could use them in the evening but if you want to try and stop climate change then it’s not a problem.
Highly recommend this hotel!!

Amazing

We stayed here for 9 days in august.
Room - we stayed in a cave room with private pool - the views of the ocean and volcano were just stunning. The room was lovely, clean, amazing bed and everything we needed.
Service - hotel staff are really friendly and helpful getting you whatever you need. They will arrange taxis to pick you up, send them back to Fira or wherever you are to pick you up, really great.
Breakfast - Is really good, they have a funny system where you order from a breakfast card but what this means is everything is cooked to order and you can have anything you like from the card - i prefer this to a buffet breakfast. The staff were great, especially Effie would was so nice.
Overall if you want seclusion, romance, a spa, great service and amazing views then this is the place to stay.
Just to note you do need to be able bodied, the hotel is build on the side of a cliff and there are tunnels taking you to your rooms - they have golf carts to ferry people around but it could be challenging to some.
The hotel is a 25 min taxi ride to Fira and the cost is Euro 25 one way, so be prepared to add Euro 50 a night if you want to get in and our of Fira which is the centre.
Akrotiri is the closest village about 20 min walk away, but its on a main road and there are only a handful of restaurants there.
Overall loved it, would definitely go back.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. We stayed in a room with a private infinity pool and the view was an absolute dream. My husband said luggage was lost the first 2 days and the staff did everything they could to assist and find the luggage. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The location is a bit of a drive to Oia, however, it isn’t that bad if you just rent a car. If you do not rent a car you will have to pay a significant amount of money in taxi fees. We looked at so many hotels to find the perfect spot and I’m so glad we went with this one. We were so sad to leave as this was the perfect honeymoon destination.

This property is amazing! We had one issue that was quickly resolved. The room that we booked was not the room they put us in. They did change our room and the service was amazing.
